User ImageHaving spent more time with the pale silvery female he had ultimately decided he liked her. She was straightforward in her mannerisms but she was also very calm and laid back. He knew it didn’t matter much about how he felt though. It mattered how she felt and as far as he could tell, she didn’t feel anything specific for him. She was happy to ask him questions and he was perfectly pleased too answer as best he could but she was definitely on a different path. It made him a little sad that she wasn’t really interested in him. She was the first female in the pride that hadn’t raged at him in some way. She’d stated her case remarkably well, joining him in the shade and in the sun, on a walk. She’d even hunted something nice for him. Which he’d very much appreciated, perhaps that was her version of payment though as she was certainly not going to ask for his attentions.

He had guessed that the third degree was so she could determine if he was the right male for her. He in turn had fully realised that he wasn’t really answering the questions the way she wanted him to, that in fact he was just a little spare time for her while she found what she wanted. He wasn’t too upset, he guessed that a few females would be like this towards him, that he would in fact have to prove himself over and over before he would get to the crux of the matter. Still it was nice to spend time with a pretty lady and as they walked, he just a little behind her, but close enough that he could touch her flank if he wished to.

He hadn’t of course if he did that he guessed she would probably give him a stiff clout, no matter how relaxed she was. Still he felt he should say something to her, they had been walking in silence for at least a few minutes and he felt the quiet was getting very uncomfortable.

“You are fun to spend time with, you know?” He spoke, breaking the silence with a roguish grin.

Kacela had been walking a little ahead of the pale male. Her mind was full of questions. She still hadn’t decided if he was the male for her or not. The only thing she knew for sure was that he was a charming beast. This wasn’t a bad thing, in a pride full of confident females, if the males within weren’t confident too they would be bullied or worse kicked out before their term was over making them less than useless to the pride as a whole.

They were off to the watering hole and her mind was off in its own little world, she had stopped questioning him temporarily but it seemed that her silence unnerved the male, or at least made him feel he needed to fill the quiet with something. She laughed gently when he said she was fun to spend time with. She wasn’t sure if he was being sarcastic, after all, every moment she had spent with him so far had been her grilling him, questioning his existence, his reason for being here. She wasn’t really sure who would actually like that sort of conversation. It wasn’t always a pleasant one after all. Asking about past lives, or more accurately his life before the pride had been an easy question for her and he hadn’t seemed to struggle with the answer but she knew some just didn’t like to speak about their pasts.

“Why thank you.” She replied at last with a laugh, turning her head to smile at the blue eyed male. She had to admit he was handsome. He was just, too, she didn’t know what the word for him was. He reminded her a little of her father though that was only because he was relaxed. Other than that his personality was as far from her dad as a lion could get. “You’re sort of fun to hang around with too.” The pale lioness smiled softly. He really was nice to be around but she wasn’t sure how much of his charming demeanour she could cope with before it got too cloying on her.

“Why thank you.” He replied picking up his steps to walk at her side rather than at her butt. Her flank was nice to look at but her face was even nicer. She was lovely to look at, he just wished she saw him as something more. He really would have liked to have impressed her enough to become the male she liked. The male she appreciated enough to ask him for his help. He wanted to help as many ladies as possible to fulfil their potential, to have cubs and continue their family lines, but he supposed not everyone would want him specifically. She would probably choose someone else but it was nice to spend time with the female while she continued her grilling.

“Hey, fancy a little run? I’ll race you to the water.” He grinned, he felt like being a child for a moment, forgetting that he wasn’t going to be chosen by the female, forgetting that maybe not everyone would choose him and forgetting that at some point he would have to leave, he would have to go and not live in this land of plentiful ladies. Today was not that day though he could just enjoy some time with a lovely girl, accept her questioning and maybe have a little fun.

The pale silver beige lioness laughed gently as she watched the very pale male raced off in front of her. It wasn’t a bad thing enjoying herself with a male, even if she wasn’t going to choose him. She had a feeling he would make a good father to cubs, he just wasn’t really for her. Still, perhaps if she did have any cubs she would encourage them to spend time with the confident male who had a fun loving streak.
