Strange Weather ☂

Solo or RP Format
Counts as 5 RP growth Points
Solo word minimum is 750, RP post minimum is 7

Prompt

As Spring rolls into Summer in Tendaji it appears that something is not as it should be. In fact, strange and unpredictable weather is happening all across the world. Strong storms, bizarre heat waves, unheard of snow storms, floods, and other similar events are happening in all of the countries. Some are superstitious, seeing it as a warning of great evil, others blame the Dretch, some shrug it off as a freaky incident, and others ignore that it's even such an oddity.

However, one thing is certain - all the lands are dealing with these weird weather outbreaks in their own way. How are you handling matters? Do you try to help others, are you too focused on yourself, or do you want to try and find answers for the causes behind these recent events? Or did you get caught out in the disaster yourself and these are your memories of how you had to fight against the odds to get to safety?

Basically this is a solo (or a rp with a friend) to write out how your character is being affected by these strange occurrences in Tendaji.

Please see the below to see what is occurring in each region!

Chibale is suffering from snow - something that has rarely hit the isles before! A blizzard especially is unheard of.

Jahaur and Yael are experiencing drought. Rain hasn't fallen for the last couple of weeks...

Tale, Sauti, and Oba are experiencing massive amounts of rain to the point that some of the desert is flooding.

Zena is having the strangest heat wave and some areas once covered year-round with snow and ice are even starting to melt...

Belrea is shaken. Literally. A huge earthquake has ripped through the continent scaring many and even now faint rumbles from its impact shift at random beneath your feet.

Spring had come to Tale and Syqvara had been looking forward to it since it meant new blooms. The summoner expected light rain showers here and there but the weather that came was much more than that. It was a torrential own pour. Something that she knew was uncommon for the area. It was even getting so bad that places were flooding! Sy couldn't ever remember there being a time in her life where Tale was flooded.

“Mother.. has this ever happened before?” The thin woman turned to her elderly mother who was watching the rains out of the window.

“Nothing like this.” The older lady shook her head.

She looked tired and Sy picked up on that so she moved over to her mother's side and gently put her hands on her shoulders. “Come on, lets get away from the window. You need to rest.”

it was a blessing that her mother didn't argue with her but instead just nodded and moved to take a seat in her favorite chair. A plush thing that Syqvara had gotten for her so that her back and bottom didn't ache. Once she had gotten her mother all settled in she smiled and covered her lap with a fur blanket. Taking care of her mother had become the norm for her many years ago. Somewhere around the time she had accepted the loss of her twin brother. After placing her hand over her mothers to show affection Sy moved away and went back to the window.

Her gaze stared out at the flooded lanes for a while before she turned to look back. Her mother has dozed off it seemed. With a smile Syqvara shook her head and moved way from the window so that she could grab her cloak and her staff. With her mother safely tucked into her chair and inside away from the rain, she wanted to go out and make sure no one else needed an extra hand. The leaf woman knew that there were other elders living in her community and they did not have their children living with them to take care of their needs. Not that their children didn't care, it was that they had families of their own. Sy had no one. No lover. No children. All she had were her birds.

Thinking of them she decided that she would check in on them to make sure they weren't overly bothered by the flood waters before moving on to make sure no one else needed a hand. Drent could be a bit dramatic and Elyam was a grump in his old age.

One last look to make sure her mother was comfortable and then she was out the door. Instantly the rains seemed to find their way inside her cloak and she shivered. Not so much because it was cold but because the cool water was a shock to her system. Syqvara pulled the edges of her cover tightly around her and made her way to the small hut she had for her familiars. As her feet splashed into a deep puddle she paused and looked down for a moment. If it was already up to her ankles outside then that meant inside might be deeper. She needed to make sure that her beasts were up and out of the water.

As she moved inside the hut she looked around and noticed that Elyam was standing in the middle of the waters, looking as grumpy and displeased as ever, and Drent was doing what he could to stay in the shallower bits.

“I'm sorry boys. You could have come and got me.” The woman moved closer to them and gently patted each one to show her affection. Once that was done she gave the area another look then moved her staff out in front of her. “Let's see what I can do about this.”

A deep breath was drawn in and she closed her eyes so that she could concentrate. She might be older but her ability to use magic was still something she didn't flaunt. As the crystal started to glow she opened her eyes and lowered the head of her staff into the standing waters. From a central point inside the small hut the water began to flow outward, as though it were being pushed. As it cleared out and created a dry space for Drent and Elyam she smiled. “There. That's much better, huh?” Sy asked as she scratched the grumpy bird's chin. “Alright you two. I need you to be good and watch the house. I'm going to go out and see if anyone else needs help.” Another minute of showing love to her birds and then she left. Her eyes stayed vigilant as she made sure there was no one that was in need of her assistance.
