One by one, groups small and large had begun to trickle into the lands at the beckoning of Ashiki and her ever trusted Eye. The Queen had never doubted her eldest friend and closest vizier and as she had made her journey through the plains to the land bridge between the rivers that bordered the south side of their pride lands, she had seen the evidence of the herds for herself. The migration routes had been restored and one of her very first instructions had been for the call home; Katiti's birds had flown far and wide to every group the Seer had kept her eyes upon. Others would take longer to locate, she was certain, but her viziers were an assurance.
It was with a deeply rooted pleasure that Ashiki watched a large group coming toward them on the horizon and, as she had done for every one before them, she made her way out to greet them well before the mounds and tunnels that made up their pride's den complex. There was little surprise in her eyes as she saw Shetani, the spitting image of her mother's fierce purpose, leading the pack with her brother at her side.
"Shetani, my Mind," she called as she stopped short, dipping her head in a respectful greeting, "it makes my heart proud to see you home so quickly."
She paused where she stood to allow Shetani and her group to meet her where she stood. They would receive a royal escort back into the lands from that point forward but, too, it ensured that they all knew who still led their pride. Ashiki, though aged, was a Queen with sharp edge and Shetani's place was cemented at her side.

It had been a long journey, but there was a sense of eagerness that spurred the group forward, and Shetani couldn't help but feel proud of that. As they drew closer, she purred in contentment as she began to recognize some of the landmarks around them. It felt good to return home.
Though what felt better was the sight of the red form making it's way towards them. Shetani recognized the lioness immediately, as had the other returning members behind her, and she nodded with a dip of her head as Ashiki spoke. "The pleasure is all mine, my queen." She smiled as she cast a glance around them, before turning back, "It feels so good to see that things have flourished in our absence," she grinned, "Though it feels especially so to see you again."
The black lioness watched as her brother padded about to check on things amongst them, and then turned her full attention to Ashiki once more. She could hear a few of the others explaining in whispers to the Unbranded just who was standing before them, but she ignored it. They would learn soon enough.
She knew better than to question why their Monarch had come out here to greet them herself. It was a logical move, and frankly, she had a feeling that Ashiki was just as eager to see her pride return as they were to do so. Instead, Shetani walked up next to Ashiki and gave a respectful bow. "How has everyone fared while we've been gone?"

Shetani gave a sad smile at the mention of her mother, and she nodded back, "I would like that." She gazed off for a moment, "I wish she could see the pride return as it is, but I believe she would be proud." She shook her head, "Regardless though, I'm proud to see the Outlanders rise again, and I'm sure I speak for everyone here when I say that we look forward to bringing the pride of Scar back into the world."
The black lioness chuckled, "Have Ebbe and Katiti been behaving?" She was sure they had been, but the Mind enjoyed toying with her comrades from time to time.
Though she did scoff a bit, "Kat's ravens have gotten more.... presumptuous, it seems." She rolled her eyes, recalling the way they had tried to order her around in the last visit from them. She debated whether to bring it up with Kat, before shrugging. She would hope that the Soul would step in before they went too far. I.e. before someone decided to just eat them.

Ashiki laughed soft and low at Shetani's comments regarding the zealous Claw. He had for a certain taken to his duties quickly and proudly; if there were any travelers that thought they would earn themselves a moment's rest they had been sorely and sadly mistaken. There was no rest for the devoted and that, among many other things, was why she had taken Ebbe as her Claw.
"They are for a certain and I am sure that you will have your paws full as well, there are many that have come to us during our travels so they will need lessons on who we are as much as how to fight like us."
They were near the redstone cliffs now, overshadowed only by the most ancient of termite mounds that loomed in the distance. She turned to look at Shetani and then let her eyes drift past her to the group that tagged along in their wake.
"Please go ahead without us, find den space, acquaint yourself with your fellow pride members. On the morrow you will begin training in whatever capacity you have need of it."
Then, with a smile, she let her gaze flicker back to her Vizier.
"Thank you, Shetani, for seeing your mother's legacy home."

The black lioness smiled at that. While she wouldn't say so out loud, she was looking forward to resting. The travel had been long and sometimes grueling when the weather was feeling particularly unruly, but while there would be a lot of work ahead of them, it would be worth it. It was already worth it, really, to feel their home land back under their feet.
She would probably have to pause to force her brother to rest as well; she had a feeling he'd try to jump right into things, or even seek out Ebbe, who would for sure set him right to work.
Honestly, men.
So Shetani nodded at that and said, "I look forward to it." Then, with a last bow to her Queen, started heading off after the group.
