The brown leopardess was a very proud mother to three healthy cubs, two males and one female. She had left them with An and had no fear that any harm would come to her children. Walking along the pards boarder she kept a watchful eye for passerby's or even newcomers wishing to join. While she was a new mother she still took her job seriously and tried to do her duties as often as she could, splitting time evenly between her children and her job. It was hard at first but she quickly got into a rhythm and had no doubts in her capabilities now. Continuing along she paused when she thought she had heardsomething.

Whispers of noise met sensitive ears belonging to a monster. Eyes like mist blinked slowly, no reaction reflecting in them save what was happening around them, no proof that a soul even resided behind them, for certainly there were no memories to recall if one ever had. Gently, silently, one snowy paw tipped in orange stepped forward and caused the dust below it to rise softly and settle once more without a sound. Should something have been foolish enough to track the ghost this far it would be sorely disappointed when it met it's death at the sharpened claws of the ghostly beast that had run so far from something it could no longer remember. Something that it... HE... no longer was.

Chindi had recalled his name recently but precious little else had swam to the forefront of his foggy mind. Simply regarding his inner being was a test of his patience and stealth, for there was no telling what monsters truly resided within his own memories. Not the least of which was the identity he sought so hard, his own ruthless beginnings and an understand of what it meant to be himself. Still nothing had presented itself and months had passed as the ghost tread upon the savannah until he reached his current location, ever running from something he couldn't define and the truth of his past. He was a coward for certain, but outside of that Chindi was free to be whatever he wanted and that came with relative perks as far as he was concerned.
Shifting weight from one paw to the other swiftly the ghostly leopard swung his thick orange spotted tail and held his balance, coiled to spring as his muzzle pulled backwards to show fangs. Something was indeed walking the path he had discovered in the jungle, some being was following him and keeping their silence as he tread further into the solitude. A guardian of some sort possibly? Silence seemed the most appropriate course of action and so the leopard that shone so white as to nearly be a beacon in the shadows stayed still and quiet. Emotionless, pale eyes peered through the dense growth for what might be near him, what might want to end it's life.

As she scouted through their lands an unfamiliar scent hit her nose, it wasn't one of their members but it was leopard. So her ease was there, but she wasn't relaxed since she had to figure out where the stranger was and assess them for herself. Maybe it was because she was a new mother, but she felt rather protective today of their land and it's inhabitants. Following the trail she was growing closer and came to a halt, they were close but how close? The wind shifted so she was able to get a general idea of where it was and where it wasn't coming from.

It wasn't long before the Warden made a generalized idea of the whereabouts of the foreign male. While she had nothing against them as her cubs were sired by a passing male, she didn't know of this one's particular intentions. "You may show yourself to me now or you can wait until I find you with my claws." It wasn't a threat, it was a promise and she waited for the male to appear before her.

White ears slowly sliding backwards further, pinned neatly against his skull, Chindi let the words that hung in the air between them drag on in silence for a moment before stepping forward slowly. Somehow she melded into the surroundings, could have been her dark pelt and markings, could have been experience for he had no idea how long she'd been in these lands, walking these same paths. Whatever it was, the pale leopard with his orange stripe and spots tilted his head once he discovered her position and regarded her from one pale eye carefully. Claws sheathed once more and fur slicking back so that it no longer stood on end between his shoulder-blades, the leopard took a breath and withheld his judgement for a moment. For who was he to do so? A ghost, a monster, without a memory or even an inkling what his original personality had been.

No one.

"Don't concern yourself with me, I'm merely a ghost passing through while trying to avoid a past that seems to desire a chase." Chindi spoke the words in a voice he was not used to, though he knew how to speak he was not as keen on hearing what he sounded like. Smooth and almost a bit... exhausted. Having not spoken in months since his memory had begun to resurface the leopard was quite surprised that he even could any longer. "So while it might be interesting to see those claws of yours, as long as you mean no harm I'll bring none to you."

All that he wanted was to be free from whatever felt as though it were following him, or whomever it was that indeed was or wasn't. Maybe it was a ghost from his own past, a memory that he ran from as it slowly came back to him. The only way to know was to face it, but he felt cowardly straight down to his bones without any way to change it.

Gaze followed him effortlessly as he spoke and she let a small chuckle escape her lips. "Gost or not, you've crossed upon the lands I've been tasked with protecting." Curling one of her paws, the claws tapping against her pads gently she put her paw back upon the ground. IF SHE brought him no harm, he was a charmer wasn't he.

Flicking her tail she approached him a little closer to get a better look at him. He was decent in size and seemed quite healthy, perhaps he might consider joining their pard, if he saw more of it anyway. They needed the numbers and while she wasn't really a recruiter she had two join in the past after persuading them. "If you'd like a place to rest your head for the night I'd be more than happy to escort you through our lands. Those that mean no harm are welcome upon our lands." She offered to him.

Pale gaze lighting on her darkened form, Chindi debated her words for a moment in silence, letting it stretch between the two of them as he made up his mind about her and the intentions behind those offered words. Careful for certain, she'd held some sort of position if she didn't hold it now, though why one of enough power and intelligence to hold any position in a pride or coalition would be patrolling was beyond his realm of reasoning. It could possibly have been to get a grasp on the borders but there was the scent of cub on her and not nearly old enough to be very far away from her for more than a day. Nose crinkling as he sniffed and smelled nothing more on her beside jungle and cub, the pale leopard rolled the idea of joining her group around between his ears for a bit.

Would it be so wrong to rest his head in a place that might have skilled defenders that could protect him further than his own running had thus far? Knowing full well that he would need to be careful, that he would need to be smart lest one of these leopards he could smell only a short way off know of his past and wish him as dead as the thing tracking him, Chindi bowed his head only slightly. It was her offer of course and only for a night's rest and no more at this point. But it was an offer all the same. Far be it for him to turn her down when the opportunity for rest was placed at his paws.
"It might come as a surprise, but I'll take you up on that offer. I've been walking for quite some time in order to avoid some tricky business and despite my best efforts it has worn me out." letting the words slide out carefully, not wanting to anger or offend her so that he might find it urgent to run from those graceful claws, Chindi watched her face carefully for a reaction that would hopefully be in his favor.

While he wasn't certain at the moment he did find that the jungle was rather appealing for some reason, it gave him the chance to keep himself hidden from view if need be and the humidity alone reminded him of.... something. It was something far past, something that was clawing at the back of his memory to be released but it just wouldn't come. Possibly, spending more time in the jungle would bring it back, but so few had resurfaced from the past where they'd become fogged and hidden. It was only a matter of time before he gave up entirely or got them back, there were only two options after all but one seemed much better than the other and offered a chance at a new life.

Giving a nod of her head she listened as he voiced his questions. "It's just my job, there haven't been any high threats lately so there is no need for worry, I assure you." Smiling the brown female watched him breifly before turning her gaze to look around the surrounding area for a moment. When he mentioned imposing she gave a wave of her paw, "I offered, there is no imposing on your part. It would honor me greatly to ensure you are well fed before continuing on your way."

He was thin, but he wasn't in the worst shape she had ever seen. Recovery would come quickly to him with some rest and a good meal. "If you but follow me I can lead the way. It's not far from here and you are more than welcome to stay a few days if you so desire."

This leopardess spoke of honor and jobs, which meant that the pride she was taking him to was one that functioned on the backs of all those rather than an express freedom. He supposed that's how they all were, lest there were those in power that merely lounged about, but at least that didn't seem the case. Lifting himself to his full height, Chindi took a few steps towards her, watching her waving paws as he took in her apparent health. So different from his own waning.

But then she likely wasn't hunted by ghosts from her past, or did a good job of hiding it if she were.

"Well as a random leopard simply wandering, the offer is still quite generous, so I find myself in the position to agree to it." Extending one paw as he stepped up to her side, the pale leopard kept his eyes on the darker lady's face, watching her expressions very carefully as with all things that he had to be wary of. Everything was a risk really. "Lead the way Guardian of the Jungle Lands, where you go I shall follow."

Hattaki
final post from you and we can close this out. Sorry it took so long

Watching him curiously she gave him a smile as he spoke. "We take care of our own, even if you're not from around here." At least she did, and anyone that would question her would have a swift paw to the side of their head.

"Now, if you'd but come this way I'll show you where you'll be resting and where you can find food and drink." Turning she moved into the shadows, knowing he'd be behind shortly.
