It had been with mixed emotions that Haliah came to Weyr at last. One the one hand, the death of her grandfather still weighed heavily on her heart. But this was also the start of the something new, something exciting, and the cahnce to see an old friend again! It didn't take her long to find him. Since the candidates all slept in the same building, she knew exactly where he would be. She'd missed him terribly this last turn. He'd been like a brother to her when he stayed with them, like a second child to her grandfather and her aunts. They were all heartbroken when he went away, though it's hard to blame someone when the alternative was dragons.
Still, she really wanted to see him again. Especially with all the illnesses and injuries in her family, she could really use a brother right now.
Spotting the back of a familiar head, Haliah brightened up immediately. Resisting the urge to shout his name, she instead ran quietly towards the older boy, finally pouncing and covering his eyes with her hands like she did when they were younger. "Guess who!" she laughed, smiling brightly.
