Larak had been leaving more and more. After the incident of the body in the desert and Larak’s sudden illness, an awkwardness hung in the air. Sorra Suau couldn’t get past it, no matter how much she tried. Granted, she didn’t try that much. Although Sorra had bitterly agreed to be more appreciative of what the Nergui life and Larak dealt her, she just couldn’t find the silver lining in this. The time Larak goes away… at first, it made her bitter and sour. She wouldn’t lash out as she usually would but rather, remain in frigid, cold silence and scowled glances.

That, of course, didn’t help the situation. And the yearning to know where Larak was going became another emotion she never expected to feel; jealous desperation. Where was he going? Who was he meeting? Did he intend on leaving her? Should she care? The uncertainty gnawed at her as she made her way back to their ugly den, a raggedy bag of items in her maw. There was a peddler today and she took advantage of going to view their wares. It was a good distraction from her anxiety but, unfortunately, not a solution. She wondered when he’ll be back this time; she had bought some things for him, a peace offering. Not a bribe or an attempt to get him to like her enough to stay with her. Why would she want that? Swallowing hard, she wondered if she should visit Kimya today. And then quickly pushed the thought out of her head, as she usually did recently. She wanted to be the first to know if Larak was back and surely if she was out with Kimya, she wouldn’t know of it until later.

Larak's cubs had been born, his cubs. He had long since suspected that the lioness in the Pridelands he had been occupying his time with while Sorra had been so taxing to teach may have been pregnant, but now he had seen them. He had been allowed to spend time with them and be there with him. The travel back to the Nergui always erased their scents from his fur, the sand coating any reminder of them.

He would tell them stories about the greatness of the Nergui and encourage them to join him as adolescents, for both he and their mother agreed that they could not make the travel as cubs. He could only hope that some of his brood would be strong enough to come with him when the time came.

He was thinking of the cubs, his eyes distant when he crossed over the border of his pride. Straightening up, his eyes cleared and he became slightly tensed as he always did when he was home. He was never sure when he could be attacked by a pride mate, or more likely, by Sorra's harsh words. He sighed as he made his way towards his den and paused, seeing Sorra at his den, rather than with her companion, Kimya. There were objects of an undetermined variety near her paws and she was faced away from him, at least for the moment.

"Wlaek 't kl't? (What is this?)" He asked, standing a few feet away from her with his head tilted slightly to one side.

A yelp escaped her and she whirled around, a pretty cloth that she had been trying to hang floating to the ground from her mouth. Oh gods, he had scared her! Scowling, she was ready to lash out at him with her words when she realized he was looking at the assorted items on the ground that she had yet stashed away. A light piece of cloth for a cloak of some sort and to assist with keeping sand out of eyes; some pretty seashells; a puppet that wasn’t in the best of shape but was unique and interesting; different sorts of fruits and dried treats. Her initial reaction forgotten, she stared at him wide eyed. ”Why are you back so soon?!” she asked in a near squeak. Panic was beginning to rise. She wasn’t ready to have a talk with him. She hadn’t prepared herself.

She looked at the stuff and raised her chin proudly. Sorra refused to be bashful. ”T-they were meant to be peace offerings,” she said and then winced. She had stuttered and she certainly hadn’t wanted to be blunt about her intentions. But it was out. ”If you had come back later, I would have been prepared and we could have had a proper talk,” she muttered.

Larak blinked. She had brought him peace offerings? Weren't they already peaceful? He was silent. Had they been fighting and he had not realized it? At least she felt the need to make amends, though he couldn't imagine what the problem was.

"Slairb I... kado daekx raekou? (Should I... come back later?)" He asked, uncertainly, before noticing how distraught Sorra looked. Creeping forward, he pressed his nose briefly to her cheek and then looked at the fallen cloth. "Wlouo tlaerr vo laers kl't, klor? (Where shall we hang this, then?)" He asked instead, picking up the cloth in his mouth and looking to Sorra for guidance. He still didn't quite understand what was going on or why it was happening, but if she wanted to... decorate, then he wasn't going to get in the way of this happiness, if she wanted it. Maybe it was him being sentimental from visiting his cubs in the Pridelands that made him act this way, but who was he to question it? At least for the time being.

Sorra gave him an agitated look but shook her head. Him going would defeat the purpose. ”No, it’s fine,” she mumbled. The touch to her cheek startled her, making her pull back for a brief moment. She was unused to the touches still and, although they were affectionate and not unwelcome, Sorra still felt like she was lacking.

She sighed, hanging her head low. How was she going to tell him to stay? To stop leaving her? Would he even listen? Why did she want him to stay? Her feelings confused her. Maybe she needed more time… or at least speak to Kimya first. Kimya would know how to sort this out. His sudden question confused her. ”Hang… what?” she mumbled, before looking up. Oh. The cloth. He was… he was going to help her. She gave him a disgruntled look. ”It was supposed to be a surprise, you know,” she accused before shrugging. ”I thought over that area that lets the sun in in the morning.” Really, Sorra wanted to find a better abode but right now, she had more concerning things to worry about. ”Are you… back for long? Or will you be leaving again soon?” Sorra couldn’t help the slight desperation in her voice, though she tried to make up for it by picking up the other end of the cloth.

”Belloblossom”
I think Sorra won’t tell Larak to stay with her yet. Goes to Kimya first (in that one rp).
