Walking through the halls of the weyr, D'cimus was quiet and a very imposing sight that caused candidates, drudges and even some other riders to skirt passed him as he moved. A forever unpleasant expression upon his gnarled and scared features made the large man seem even more intimidating then his quiet personality made him seem. This will do you some good D'cimusmine! Amroth's voice filled his head sweetly as he spoke to his rider, reassuring him of the path he had pushed him down. D'cimus grunted back his reply through their link, though he was worried.

The last time he had really been around her was when she and K'ienn had been together. A shadow watching the loving couple together and, perhaps, yearning for the love she gave to his bronze rider compatriot. How many times had he gazed at her longingly and hidden it away for K'ienn, not wishing to get in the way of his friend.

Yes, but he ruined that for he and his poor Yisketh. There came Amroth again, piping into D'cimus' thoughts, it was a habit the man had thought his dragon would drop but he never did. I'm just saying, she was friendly to you even then and just because she and K'ienn are not together does not mean you have to distance yourself as well. This thought had been voiced by Amroth multiple times to his rider though D'cimus still felt a bit guilty. He liked K'ienn, even though the man was pompous as all get out, they got along and he worried about if this would be considered a betrayal. But, if that was the case, then wouldn't K'ienn have tried to already have made up with her? If he truly loved her?

All these thoughts spun around in D'cimus head as he walked, giving the man a bit of a headache and making his expression even more unpleasant. It sent a weyrbrat running away from him with tears in his eyes and D'cimus had to stop once he reached the door and try to rearrange his features, not wanting to scare Olliah as well.

A deep breath and an encouraging wave from Amroth and D'cimus rapped at Olliah's door. He would soon see if she wanted anything to do with him, or if him being friends with K'ienn tainted that.

Olliah, though she had not been expecting company, was not surprised when there was a tap upon her door. As Weyrwoman Second she was accustomed to may people coming to her with questions, concerns, and general information about the overall state of the Weyr. It as up to Olliah to discern what should go to Zheria directly, and what she should handle on her own. The Weyrwoman was a hard working woman, but Olliah was trained to take care of the smaller messes when she could. Furthermore, there were some in the Weyr that simply found Olliah far more approachable than Zheria, and were more or less inclined to only come to her.

So it was, the gold rider heaved a small sigh when she heard someone's tap upon her weyr door. It didn't matter where she went -- she was forever at the Weyr's disposal. Threadfall only made the work that much worse. Well, this was her job... and she'd be damned if she didn't do it well. She could have declined the offer Zheria had given her Turns ago if she hadn't wanted to help her home Weyr... and she knew what came with the acceptance of such a role. The good, the bad, the ugly... it wasn't easy running a Weyr, but Olliah did try to do her best.

Setting down her quill, and moving the parchments of the month's tithes and their current supplies to the side, the woman gave a small stretch as she stood. Zheria and she were gearing up to do Weyrwide inventory, and it was going to be a few awful days. Even with Padmia's aid, she needed to make sure what Padmia and her workers were recording was actually true. It was a tedious task they had to do once a Turn, but it meant their numbers were confirmed, and everyone was prepared. It wouldn't do any of them a lick of good if they suddenly came up empty handed on supplies.

So it was, the woman made her way to her door. To say she was surprised to find D'cimus there was an understatement. In fact, her surprise was so great that Fianth woke from her nap with a start, her blue-green eyes taking on edges of yellow-red.

"D'cimus," she spoke, glancing up at the man. Her surprise turned into her usual politeness, and she smiled. "What a surprise!" The tall, scarred man might have intimidated others, but Olliah had gotten to know him during her time with K'ienn. The bronze and blue rider pair were good friends... though it had been some time since she'd had any immediate dealings with either.

She avoided K'ienn where she could, though it wasn't easy. And now, she knew, it would be even more difficult now that he was a Wingleader. But, though the bronze rider left a bad taste in her mouth, it was Turns ago. She wasn't hung up over him, but . . . she had loved him. One of her more foolish mistakes, really.

"What can I do for you?" She opened the door a bit wider, unsure if he simply came here at the request or errand of another, or if he had some other purpose. "Please, come in." She welcomed, cordial as ever.

The surprised look at first would have normally bothered D'cimus but he understood the surprise and it wasn't because he was here, well it was but...it wasn't a bad surprise at least. He tried to smile and make it look sweet, instead of intimidating. He was glad she was doing okay and seemed to be okay. He was really relieved that she had been able to get over K'ienn, he was sure it had been hard.

Pushing those thoughts from his mind, he bowed his head as he entered her weyr before speaking. "Thank you." His eyes moved around the weyr before moving back at her. He was always taken aback at how beautiful she was, how different she was from Zheria and some of the other gold riders as well, so gentle and kind. "I just wanted to see how you were doing." He figured the truth was the best thing to go with, though speaking about why he wanted to see how she was, was not going to be something he'd do.

"Amroth has told me that Fianth has been sharing her ledge with Krahsujunth." Knowing that she might think he was attacking her, he quickly continued speaking in his slow way. "I'm glad she has found someone to share it with." The fact Krahsujunth was a blue and a lot of people would think it wasn't right for the gold to share her space with him never crossed D'cimus mind. The large blue couldn't catch her when she rose and give her eggs but who cared who she chose to share her ledge with. He had seen bronzes sharing ledges with greens before. Perhaps there was also a small hope that had shown up in his heart that, if Krahsujunth could lay beside his beloved queen...maybe D'cimus could work up the courage to be closer to Olliah. There was one problem though, K'ienn might not understand it and D'cimus cared for his friend, knew he wasn't a complete jerk at all times. It was why he was so loyal to him and stayed friends with him.

Fianth stirred on her ledge, moving a bit closer to her rider's quarters. She couldn't see what was happening, but the queen had sensed her rider's surprise... and Fianth also knew Amroth's to be friends of Yisketh. Her rider might have moved on with her life, but there were some things the gold did not forget. Thankfully, Olliah sent her protective lifemate a surge of love and understanding. Go back to your sunning, love. I'm all right. He's not here for trouble.

The queen re-settled herself, but did keep an eye on the door. She would wait and see how this went -- and if need be, would reach out to Amroth.

Olliah, for her part, closed the door and ushered D'cimus further inside. Her weyr was in order -- clean, with a comfortable living area for entertaining visitors or guests. She kept her weyr cozy, but not cluttered, desk aside; lots of plush items, warm colors, and an overall friendly air. Ah, but where were her manners. "Can I get you anything? Wine? Klah? Juice? Something to eat?" She always had some extra edibles in her weyr, and drinks in a small ice box. It was one of the perks of being the Weyrwoman Second and being so close to the kitchens; it also meant she didn't have to go far if she worked through midday meal or dinner. It also meant she could properly play hostess if anyone surprised her with a visit. "Please, make yourself comfortable."

When the blue rider did confess why he was there, she smiled warmly, and gave a small shake of her head. Curious that D'cimus might want to check up on her. Though she felt Fianth's suspicions, she ignored the queen; the gold was still a bit sensitive about the Weyr prying into her affair. Thankfully, D'cimus' own explanation seemed to calm the queen, and she gave an approving little snort at the door.

"We're all right, really, though I do appreciate the concern. You're probably one of the few who think that, though I'd imagine you might not want to say it too loudly." She knew the politics of the Weyr, and knew that there were just as likely many in K'ienn's circle that found Fianth deficient or off-kilter for deciding to spend time with Krahsujunth. None of them had the guts to say it to her face, but she was well aware of Weyr rumors. "Thank you, though," and she did mean it. Her words were sincere, and her smile genuine and grateful. It was nice knowing someone might not find it all too peculiar.

"Fianth thanks you, too." The gold did give a more happy sounding rumble from behind the door, though whether or not that was so D'cimus knew she was nearby, or she simply was feeling particularly need, it was difficult to say. "Please do ignore her," Olliah added with a little embarrassed smile. "She's just been a bit sensitive lately."

And for good reason, Mine. Though, it is kind of him to admit.

The large man entered the weyr proper and did his best to move in a way that made his frame seem smaller. Olliah's weyr was large, larger then his for sure, so he shouldn't have to worry about bumping into anything, but he always did it as a courtesy to others. No one seemed to really care for a giant of a man ruining their work.

He smiled at her, inclining his head as he did so. "Klah would be nice, only if you don't mind." The woman was always open to others, putting herself out there and helping everyone. So very different from Zheria and eve K'ienn, who only really helped others if it would help them get ahead.

D'cimus did watch Olliah with some apprehension after he told her why he had come to see her. He had never known the woman to be overly cross, at least not with anyone but K'ienn, but he still worried about upsetting her. Knowing how the entire weyr might feel about your dragon finding love 'below her station' was probably stressful in its own way. Stress she didn't need added to her shoulder. Fianth's approving snort caused him to turn his head, looking over at the door and he smiled softly, glad that the Queen seemed to approve of his additional explanation.

"I've always known not to voice all of my opinions. I'm only a blue rider, the muscle." He shrugged, the position he was in not bothering him in the least. He wasn't smart enough to handle doing anything but really be muscle and he never wanted to play politics like K'ienn and the other metallic riders did. "I'm glad you are alright. I know you've been working a lot harder lately." Should he add that he felt protective of her? Even though she and K'ienn were no longer an item? Probably not, maybe she already knew it.

A small chuckle escaped his lips and he shook his head. "She is find. Fianth as every right to be as sensitive as she wants. People are talking about her and the one she has fallen in love with. Amroth believes she should be happy, no matter the color hide of the dragon, as long as they make her hearts sing." He could feel his romantic blues approval of his words all the way from his own ledge. "Of course, he also believes that blue is the loveliest color after gold of course."
