"Alright, so we're clear on what's happening?"
Ali`dido had just finished explaining to his daughters the plan. The plan was simple and elegant in its own way. He'd just finish telling them about how he had helped to name them and what they'd been named for. To a point... since he wasn't ready to fully admit about loving someone in the Pridelands and leaving them. Something about that just stung a little to much. So needless to say his one daughter was pouting fiercely at him for the lack of information. He'd have to explain later. "Yes Dad.." Sang the chorus of exhausted cubs.
"Well there is a grouping of trees over there. Why don't we rest upf or the night and finish traveling tomorrow?" There was no doubt about it they were tired. There were no arguments except a woeful 'do we really have to walk all the way over there' from Lief. 'All the way over there' was maybe a total of thirty paw steps for Ali and a few more for his wee offspring.
To his delight the grouping of trees also included a small watering hole. Once the cubs were in a place he felt confident was safe he wandered off towards the waters edge and dipped for a cool drink. He wasn't left alone for long and was soon fairly damp as Lief`dido ran, full boar, at the water and leaped into it. Clearly she was a little to warm for her pelt today.. "What are you doing Lief, you don't know what's in the water!" He gave a small warning growl, but was met with a taunting splash. How could he remain grumpy with these girls if they were so darn cute? One day he'd have to figure that out, it seemed today wouldn't be that day.
"I'm coming to get you~" He sang out at his daughter. "Noooo Dad. Nooooo." Lief`dido began to try and scoot away from him. The water was not very deep fortunately for Ali, but she still couldn't touch the bottom herself and so her escape was a failure. He hung back a little and enjoyed watching her squeal and play while he pretended to coming towards her.
All the while he'd left his belongings at the side of the water. The other cubs in his charge weren't far off and he felt confident he'd be able to get to their rescue if he needed too.
