Zjarri`fol was on edge ever since having sent out a bird, which she imagined would be the best possible communication, everything seemed to hinge on the fact that the Bahari lend a paw. The return of her bird told her that two individuals would be following the message shortly and would be very capable of addressing the situation as it stood, since it technically wasn't consider an outbreak. The news was just what she had hoped, this pride may not lose a life - at least not yet. She was pacing at the borders of the pride with Sabia`deimos nearby when she finally spied a pair of relatively similar looking lions.
"Hello there!" She called out, her pinks eyes sparkling with delight. Situations could always be worse, that was what she had convinced herself in the last little bit and it wasn't about to change. If she recalled the message correctly her bird had let her know that the lioness should go by the name Yawo, and the lion by the name Mal - likely nicknames. "Zjarri`fol." She said, approaching the pair and forcing formalities as quickly as she could.
----------
Unyawo`Olulula had been provided with instructions, those instructions included her leaving the pride and though this would be her first time abroad she was determined. The Bahari had called upon her to provide aid where it was needed and she was certain she could provide it. Recently a possible promotion opportunity opened up and though she hadn't been told this would add to the possibility of her getting it she was sure that all eyes were on her.
When the instructions arrived to her they also included the name of a lion, one whom had only recently arrived at the Bahari, but from what she had understood was a key factor in the survival of a lioness that was nearly beaten to death. Yawo allowed herself to be wow'd by that thought only briefly before she had met with him, exchanged names and soon they were off to their target destination - a pride by the name of Dov Strunmah.
"Zjarri`fol." She said, repeating the name for memory sake. "I'm Unyawo`Olulula, or Yawo for short since I realize that time may be of the essence?" The urgency was clear in her voice, not that she was shaking and worried, but the lioness fighting for her life was indeed on her mind and weighing heavily. "What happened, your bird wasn't able to enlighten us?"

The blue lioness gave a quick nod towards the gray male in appreciation that he understood just how quickly things needed to go by. "Now, from what I understand there is one primary patient in need of intensive care - a mate of a council member." She spoke quickly, thinking of Throek and the distress he had shown at the topic. "The pride has been given a heads up that we will be coming, that we are here to help and though they still come off as nervous they are willing to accept our assistance. At this time we don't know how badly things are for the other pride members." She'd begun so quickly and moved so fast that she'd forgotten to tell them what the source of all this heartache was.
"There are plants along the mountainside - I've opted to get a sampling of it once Throeks son arrives to take us up the mountain. That sampling will have to do for research until we can properly round up enough able bodied researchers to handle such a task." Her pink eyes exchanged from Yawo to Mal and back again - this was important, it was vital that both parties understood what was happening and where to begin.
"Rahisi is her name and her symptoms presented hard, fast, and without sympathy. She began with a speech issue, then grew light headed, and ended up appearing to have gone blind before collapsing before her son." She figured that if Throek was sending Jua that it was a task to keep his mind off of what happened - not many lions would come out of such an incident intact.
----------
Yawo listened intently while the lioness spoke, paying special attention to the location of the plants that had effected the lioness in such a way - yes, she would be helping with herbs in the room alongside Mal, but from what she had heard he was in this particular trade for a reason. Her best bet was to begin researching immediately after seeing the patient.
"Mal, you got it?" She inquired, mentally making a check list of what was said. This would be a two man operation and if she could spy more symptoms before they got to far she would do so and expected that Mal would have the same keen eye that came with doctoring.
"Thank you." As she finished her thanks her blue eyes caught sight of an orange lion, no older than his adolescent years. It was likely this would be the lion to take them to the patient, which was unfortunately his mother. Immediately she caught sight of a strange way he walked, there was a small stumble as he approached, but he appeared determined to overcome whatever was ailing him and so she left it for the time being - right now it was his mother that needed their attention as soon as possible.
----------
Jua was feeling a little weak, the tingle of the plant he'd bit into had started to effect him but only in fits and burst. So he fought through those fits in order to continue to aid his family during a time that was beginning to seem a touch hopeless. When his father returned to his mothers side he appeared a bit more hopeful and in looking that way Jua felt he could actually smile. "Have you found help?" He inquired lightly to his father, to which he received a silent nod and then spoke up with instructions that he listened intently about.
As soon as the instructions had been give he was on his way, wasting no time at all between his father finishing his thought and getting onto the search for that help. Heading towards the border he was a lion on a mission, even ignoring a few lions on the way by that ended up giving him a concerned look that turned curious as they spied his target. Ahead of him, parked at the border, was a blue lioness (an odd color to see in these parts) and a pair of much paler individuals. To have outlanders in the prides land was highly unusual and so the staring wasn't unwarranted.
"Are you Zjarri`fol?" He inquired and then looked to the others. "You must be the help my father spoke of. Please come quickly." He spoke rapidly, not waiting for introductions or to share any banter - nor did he address the stares. Within seconds of reaching them it was like he'd read Mal's mind and turned heel to begin leading them to the heart of the Dov pridelands - their mountain.

The blue lioness already had a plan hatched to gather a couple of her members to find a guide to begin obtaining the products along the mountainside for those who were able to complete the necessary research – which meant the Bahari would be more involved than she had anticipated, given the High Priestess and her newly appointed Priestess had begun returning home. Zjarri was a touch nervous leaving such tasks to those that she wasn’t aware of, but she hoped for the best and in the back of her mind was the lingering thought that at least this wasn’t her home being tormented by mere plant life.
“You and I know just about the same amount of information about these plants.” She answered rather dryly, but did look to their newest orange companion for direction on the fact as he approached them and gave them no introduction. Given that he had likely come from his mother there were chances that the situation was beginning to grow direr by the moment. Her heart beat quickened in her chest at the thought of losing such a battle, but of course battles only truly went one of two ways and they weren’t always a win. In time she’d properly learn to adapt to that kind of situation, but for the moment she was having a hard time adjusting to the possibility that there was likely nothing they could do to help.
“Yes, we are the help – we’re coming.” She had hesitated at first, watching the way he seemed to stumble towards them. Was he sick as well? Her eyes, though keen for spying hidden individuals etc. hadn’t been trained to identify other traits of a sick individual and so she brushed off her worries in favor of wondering how she might be able to help her new comrades and the pride in need. Those plants, they were the key to her providing proper help – first she needed to find out the destination and then she would return with her warband after things had settled.
----------
The symptoms shook the lioness to the core – something acting so quickly on contact through ingestion was incredibly potent. Her thoughts drifted to those Stormborn that had been in the Bahari days before the arrival of the blue lioness that had chosen now to request help. “Plants? …” Then her question was answered, almost before she could get them out – she’d grow to appreciate Mal for his intelligence and quick thinking.
Had they been alone and certainly not in the presence of the patients son a question, that was quickly filtered, would have been her first to Mal – was it even possible that the lioness would make it? The reaction was a perfect storm. If they hoped for even half a chance at saving her the pair of them would have to work incredibly closely, research their asses off and eventually begin to rely on hope that whatever they come up with happens in time for the lioness to be saved. “Good, good.” She said in return to his response.
Fortunately she was studiously able to cover up her fears with a calm, sympathetic face.
Once the group was on the move she followed suit – no questions – instead she chose to listen intently to the question that had been brought up by Mal and ended up focusing her blue eyes onto the orange adolescent that had joined them. She worried for him, seeing the weakness and exhaustion that seemed to weigh down the young lion, but she decided against pursuing it for the fact that even he seemed focused on the task at hand.
----------
The lands opened up, as though they were welcomed by more than just the pride itself. Jua was well aware that all three individuals ended up following him - rather than just one or two, but it was anticipated. His father had mentioned that the lioness had mentioned other help, though neither of them, son or father, were aware of what kind of help would be given.
They were desperate.
These were the actions of desperation.
As they approached a busy looking border of lions milling about Jua looked up towards the sky and smiled fondly at the mountain. The look on his face showed how safe the large fixture made him feel - when the question was asked the emotions changed drastically, exchanged for a look of concern. "My Mother.." He began in a soft tone, continuing the pace he'd set out at as to waste as little time as possible. "She has a tendency to pick at plants - especially since us leaving the mountain for residence outside. I was born shortly after that and my siblings and I were charged with chaperoning her outings for this very reason." Jua said, his tone changing from soft to harsh as he spoke - clearly he laid blame on himself for not reacting quickly enough, but he wasn't about to openly discuss that emotion with these strangers.
"This particular plant has been used countless times in brews and meals. So why it's had this kind of effect on her all of a sudden I don't know. Everything happened so fast, one second she was shoving plants at me and placing one in her own mouth.. the next she is collapsing." His eyes welled up with tears again and to prevent them going any further he blinked hard.
"You'll see how frail she looks now."
As he bumbled up towards the entrance he found the Jun, Alduin to which he nodded his respects - the leader didn't stop them to engage in conversation, but instead did his best to tone down comments muttered nearby about the obvious outsiders.
Pollack BTW, I am running with the logic that the plants she and others consumed were less potent and this case she has consume a rather chunkier plant, which would logic out it would be more potent. Or something like that, just for some inspiration on his diagnosis. xP

The orange lion was well aware of the sudden presence at his side, if anything his Father had begun to train him fairly well - his goal as he began to grow into adolescence was to become a Fin`tuz. That required muscle and plenty of training, which included being aware of changes in movement, along with surroundings (but even a cub could know the lion was next to them, he was a pretty sturdy lookin' guy). "You're very kind." Jua responded, finding mild comfort in the words, he'd feel better when he got them to their destination - fortunately it didn't take nearly as long as he'd felt it took on his way to get them.
Jua was first to enter the large opening in the mountainside which lead into a great cavern like space. The walls were well decorated with hides and some painted murals that appeared to tell a story, alongside those murals was a written language done up to describe the story a little better or shine light on specific parts of a story itself. He didn't linger though, but seemed to give the pieces of art a fond glance before lowering his gaze to a pathway at his left side - soft speaking could be heard, a males voice that almost seemed to be pleading or attempting to provide comfort. The sounds were easily recognizable by the youth who immediately appeared to have received the weight of the world on his back as he began to lead the group towards the voice.
"Father?" He asked lightly as he entered the room and watched the orange eyes of his Father raise up too look at who had interrupted him. When they fell upon Jua they softened and even moistened a small amount - these were not easy times and words were doing little to ease his heart and mind. "I've brought them, Zjarri`fol has followed through on her word and provided those who practice in healing." The last bit was an assumption, one could typically tell those who cared for healing in a whole - so he felt comfortable assuming.
----------
Zjarri`fol approached the large opening with mild concern, she had to remind herself that although they were here to help that she was in a vulnerable position - but so were Yawo and Mal. The ability to set aside such emotions without worry was impressive, she found comfort in that although she'd never readily admit such a thing to another Stormborn.
"Oh my." Her pink eyes followed images up the caverns walls - they traveled to the uppermost part of the space which lead her to believe that some godly force was used to depict some of these stories - there wasn't a structure in sight that could have helped these lions to get up there. But her curiosities could be satisfied at a later date and she found herself, as well as the rest of the group heading towards the den that she assumed housed the ill lioness.
----------
Blue eyes were on the blue lioness that had called upon the Bahari for assistance, she watched her enter the mountain and even as she peered up towards the cavern walls - only when she spied the stories depicted in dyes did her eyes leave the lioness. "Wow." Color her impressed, the details on the walls were amazing and likely took several days to complete - perhaps years if they were done over time. But when the orange lion took lead again she didn't hesitate to follow him down a path towards the light chatter of a lion making promises to his loved one.
At first Jua took center of the doorway, but soon moved aside to allow them entrance. Her first impression of the situation was that the male needed sleep, both Father and Son actually - then there was the obvious patient. The lioness was set upon a stone slab which was raised above the regular ground level and lay very still upon some grass which appeared to be fresh, for comfort. She followed the length of the lioness' body with her eyes to look for any immediate outward signs of illness and discovered that only the typical signs were at play. Without getting immediately into her face she noted glossy eyes, that her mouth was open in what nearly looked like a silent scream, but was likely weakening muscles incapable of closing her jaw - then there was the fact that even with new voices, sounds and smells nearby there was no flicker of an ear to show a sign that she even recognized movement nearby.
Not good. These were not the signs of a lioness that would make it out of this situation alive.
"Excuse me, Throek.." Her voice was gentle, trained that way to handle the emotions of those effected by such situations. "It would be best if Mal and I could have a moment alone with Rahisi." Yawo made sure she recalled the names, using them was vital to begin to create a calm atmosphere, at least that was her experience. "Please don't go far, just in case we need to ask any questions - I suggest you and you son find a place to rest."
----------
Throek`irid hadn't left his mates side since he let his son know that help would be arriving, Rahisi - though a pain in his a** - was the love of his life and seeing her so weak beyond words was devastating. "If you come out of this alive I'll kill you myself." He found himself muttering away, chattering to her with a grin and wet eyes. It was times like these that minds typically started to wander, his was no exception, but he tried not to lay blame on himself or others. There wasn't much to be done now, but get her better.
"You'll live forever, you're far to stubborn for this." He smiled, blinking back another set of tears that had formed. It was in this moment that he heard the sounds of paw steps, perhaps the most amazing sound he'd heard in a long time next to the voice of his mate nagging him. Soon the shadow of his son played against the walls and not long after that he saw the orange adolescent enter, followed by the group. He listened silently and nodded towards Yawo in fear of having his voice betray him.
Once he had calmed himself a small amount he stood up, but didn't leave the room - he'd heard Yawo, but he wondered of the other healer had questions.

Kind? Heh, he highly doubted this boy would share those same sentiments by the time all of this was over. If his mother was truly as bad as they claimed he honestly wasn't sure there was much to be done at this point. He dearly hoped that she would prove them wrong, that this lioness underneath it all still had enough strength to push through. She might not be 100% back to her previous self, but handicapped and alive was better than dead in most cases. However if this proved to be as bad as suggested than as a medic he had a code to follow when giving the family's the truth, good or bad, they would have all the options laid out before them and his honest suggestions for moving forward.
Still this is why he hated children being mixed so deeply into these sort of affairs, they touched on a soft spot for him that struck far too close to his own heart.
His blue eyes trailed upwards when they entered the cavern, taking in the spectacular sight of the strange writing on the walls. Pursing his lips he let out a silent whistle in awe at the whole thing. Never in his life had he seen something of this magnitude! It was almost other worldly to take in the scale of how much work had to have gone into creating such a display.
The hushed chatter of a desperate lion making promises and small talk to his beloved wife snapped the severity of the whole situation back into focus for him. This wasn't the time to get caught up in the sights, they had a job to do.
Stepping into the cavern he was intently focused on the patient. He took note of her frail, thinning form, her slated jaw as if she was already losing muscle to atrophy. The heaviness of her breathing which at this point he couldn't tell if was a side affect from the poison affecting her respiratory system or caused by heavy amounts of pain. Her glossy eyes and lack of any reaction to the array of new smells and sounds that must have come from all of them entering the cavern suggested either a deep sleep - coma perhaps? Or loss of senses entirely.
Not a good first impression that was for damn sure.
Finally took his eyes off of the weak lioness, his attention briefly turning towards her grief stricken mate. "I agree with my associate. It would be best at this time if we could have a few moments to ourselves to examine her in detail and discuss further treatment options. I'm sure we will be calling upon you shortly to ask you some questions. For now, as Yawo said, it would be best if you could gain some rest in the mean time. Your son" Glancing towards the adolescence standing in the doorway his brows furrowed together. "And your wife, as well as any other children you two have together need you, Throek. They need you to be of able body and sound mind right now to help them through this difficult time."
"Zjarri`fol, if you wouldn't mind it seems these two both need a good meal and something to drink. Why we are working it would be most helpful if you would attend to them." Pausing he stepped forward past her, lowering his head slightly as he did so to speak in a much more hushed tone to give a more personal task to the blue Stormborn. "As well why we're busy here a head start on gathering whatever plant she ingested would prove extremely beneficial for her recovery."
Heading towards the alter his focused turned back onto the patient in question. Still he stayed his paw from beginning any examination, waiting for both Yawo to join him in position and also to see if they would face any opposition regarding the orders.

Jua listened attentively to the pair of foreign lions, it was easier then looking at his Mother for what she was for the time being - a frail lioness that, if she wasn't his Mother he'd say wouldn't make it to the morning. Unfortunately she was his Mother and the reality was that much harder to face, but he wasn't alone in facing it, he knew that.
"Dad, they're right." His words didn't even convince him. All time was precious and he wanted to spend as much of it with his family as he could - but the healers would need time and space that wouldn't be easily attained if the family was hovering about the patient. "Come on." He said gently going to his Fathers side. "After we get a quick drink and something to eat we'll head back out to the mountainside where we can help by getting the plants, like the good doctor has said." He tried for a smile that would have broken hearts at how sad it was.
Throek did hear him, though he didn't want to. "You're right." He said to his son appearing to have tuned out the lions that were there to help them. He was still trying to process everything that was happening, that much was clear, but in the end the male was indeed a man of action that needed the opportunity to do something more than sit on his paws and watch as his mate perished to a poor choice.
"Okay." Sure, he'd agreed, but the reality that Jua would struggle with is that his Dad had agreed to leave, but not to eat or drink. No. He needed to get out there and gather evidence - find resources to help find some form of cure. "How much do you think you'll need?" He asked and then was met with the answer from the paler lioness, which was a hand gesture more so than anything. He regarded the gesture with a firm nod. "Zjarri, if you'd be so kind as to help us." He asked, finding formalities once more.
The blue lioness had simply been all ears, she listened with an attentiveness that would likely have impressed a number of Stormborn who were typically 'act first' types. But she had acted, in a helpful manner at least. "Of course Throek." Her own mind had adapted the situation to one that she might understand - picturing Keir on that slab had bloomed emotions she just wasn't prepared to endure. Fortunately her family was safe and at home where not many would risk attacking. "Let's go."
----------
Yawo was impressed by the way everyone snapped into action - of course she'd witnessed it before on a much smaller level with a better outcome. The outcome of this situation wasn't likely to be as positive she feared. Her ears were swiveling attentively as the trio spoke, made their decision and ultimately left the pair to themselves and their patient. Fortunately it seemed that Jua and Throek had to lead Zjarri out of the mountain because it seemed as though the walls could talk with how well sound traveled.
"It doesn't look good." She stated plainly for Mal when the individuals had left and were far enough away that she could no longer hear them, which in turn would lead her to believe that they could no longer hear her. "The lioness appears weak beyond the norm. Lack of recognition suggests a coma.. but she's blinked a number of times since we've joined her here and I only truly noticed when I got up and close to speak with her mate." Though she didn't want to say it out loud she felt as though it were possible that their best bet would to make the lioness comfortable to ride out the rest of her life - to say that out loud and also think that she might be present was tough. She'd basically be committing to a path of no return with the patient aware of what was going on around her.
"Your thoughts?"
She asked lightly, moving deeper into the space to get a better look at her.

Malphas' shoulders visibly relaxed as one-by-one the trio filed out of the cavern. Truth be told he was expecting more of a fight from Throek, he suspected his own son pleading him to leave was the key factor in him pulling himself away from his mate's side.
Not that Mal could really blame the man, he - no hell anyone would likely react the same way if they were in same spot he was right now.
"Doesn't look good is putting it mildly, Yawo." He dryly shot back at her. Setting a paw onto the lioness' neck he stayed continuing any further discussion for a brief moment why he counted her pulse in his head. Damn, it was slow. Much slower than it should have been. Another piece of the puzzle that ruled out at least a certain number of things. Every little bit helped narrow down the possible suspects.
Lifting one of her paws he watched intently as he dropped it to see if there was any sign of hesitation from the lioness. His head could only shake at the sight of her limb smacking down back onto the ground without slowing or stopping at all. "I'm leaning towards agreeing with you on the coma theory given that she isn't trying to pull away or halt incoming damage. Or perhaps she could be paralyzed." Well there was a quick way to test if there was someone truly behind that glossy glaze still.
Letting out a small hum he peered around the cavern, seemingly searching for something. Once he locked on a suitable target Malphas popped his lips before muttering, "Ah, perfect." to himself. Hopping off of the raised platform he strode his way over to one of the walls. Turning his backside to it he lifted a leg before buck kicking it against the wall as hard as he could. And wouldn't you know it, his little idea had actually turned out! With the weight and power behind his kick he had rattled one of the smooth, shining stones from the wall off to smash onto the ground next to him.
He highly doubted they would miss one small rock from the wall. Still...
"Do me a favor and keep my destructive medical habits to ourselves please. Don't need people thinking exams make me suddenly manic." Grabbing the stone in his mouth he head back up to the alter. Once there he carefully started to slide around the table, twisting his head back and forth like a confused cub might have. There was a method to his madness! Why there wasn't much light in the cavern there was juuuust enough that if he could just just find the right angle he could create himself a very nice beam to use.
AH-HA! Right there!
Stopping dead in his tracks Malphas awkwardly reached over the lioness using the paws of his pads as gingerly as he could he pushed against her eyelids to keep them open so he could shine the beam into her eyes without them involuntarily closing.
As he pulled back his paw from her face he dropped the stone onto the floor. Letting out a deep sigh Malphas sat down onto his rump, raking a paw through his mane. "I was at first thinking perhaps she might have had a stroke when hearing her first symptoms. It's extremely rare, I've personally never seen a case of it caused by poisoning but it can happen. But I don't believe it's that, truly I wish it was." Strokes people could recover from at the very least. They had a low chance but through intensive therapy most could regain a good portion of function back.
Sucking in a deep breath he frowned, his eyes locking onto the lioness before them. "We haven't gotten here in time to do a damn thing. I could see a massive swelling of her optic nerve. That sort of pressure is typically caused by two things: swelling or bleeding of the brain." At this point it could have been both, but his news was grim enough he didn't have to had that tid-bit onto it. Besides he was putting forth a real effort to keep himself from blabbering on and on like it had been pointed out to him he tended to do when lost in his thoughts.
"She doesn't even respond to any light in the pupil. I honestly would put her at brain dead or close to it. If she survives this, and even that's a big if, she most likely just be a shell of herself. I would suspect she'd be a case of the lights being on but no one would be at home." Personally to him it would be cruel to force anyone to live like that. You would be keeping alive a body alone in a dire hope to save a person long gone. But, that was something that was best left for the family to decide on when they broke the news to them.
"My recommendations would be to try and ease her passing as much as we can. We find out if there are any more sick if not then we closely monitor Jua seeing how we know he came into contacting with this same plant. We work on researching this plant immediately to work out a cause and hopefully with it an antidote. People will eventually get into this toxin again, let's make damn sure that this tragedy doesn't repeat it's self when they do, Yawo. "
Abominable Greenie xD Thank you for letting me assume. I was meaning to message you to see if you had an idea on what was wrong with her.

The pale lioness witnessed the exchange between the three lions and still was baffled to see so much calm radiate from the situation. Yet she continued on without a comment about it, there was truly nothing to be said for the matter, especially considering it was very likely that he lioness would pass away. An unfortunate outcome of this scenario, but one that would hopefully influence the choices for many generations.
The realist in her knew he was right, but the emotions were running high and she nearly snapped at him for being so crude when the walls helped to echo words around. During the thought she allowed herself to briefly wonder how anyone would survive in here with that, there would be no privacy. If she asked around she was sure she'd find out that the whole pride knew everyone's secrets as it was.
"Of course not." She responded coldly, but the Doctor was already to work. She admired the way he worked, though she admired anyone who chose to work in the medical field.
"Fine by me." She said with a shrug. If there was one thing she could take from her experience with healers of various kinds, it's that everyone had a method behind their work. Each one taking from a different pool of knowledge and expertise to get the job done. "You're fine to do what you will, it may be cold to say so, but I don't know that there is anyone present here besides us." She stated plainly as a way of saying the lioness wasn't likely aware of their actions. She had been checking her back by this point, trying to see if there were ways of managing comfort levels - perhaps the most she could do at this point.
A stroke. It was something she'd never considered, but she'd also never seen a live case of it - regardless of the cause. "I am inclined to agree that at this point all we can do is make her comfortable until such a time comes that she passes entirely." Yawo agreed with the grim idea with a tone that suggested she knocked back her emotions a few pegs. She hadn't been known as highly emotional, but she also wasn't a boulder of sorts - she prized life above all else and to see one fade away because of something so foolish drove her a little mad, but she was a healer first and mad second - not both combined.
"Sounds like an ideal plan."
The pair appeared to be on the same page, just at different occurrences. She was pleased with herself and with him - even if the outcome hadn't been positive, the pair worked well together. "We ought to let the family know of the grim news, but after we deal with providing comfort to Rahisi. Then the rest of your plan can go into action, I'd hope this will be enough of a wake up call for most, to hear that she will be passing, but like you said.. they'll want to try it again eventually. All we can do is provide safety." She snorted softly at the statement.
"Go on, if you'd like. I can deal with her comfort for now - they will need one of us to help with the plants. At least one." She gave him a guarded smile, the one she put on for situations just like this.
