The next lioness that approached was a soft brown, with the random streaks of green decorated all throughout her mane, tail, and coat. It was subtle, something that could almost get lost if one wasn't looking too carefully. She seemed anxious but excited, wondering what the future would hold here for her. She appeared to be more of a rogue in build, having a bit more of an edge on her than some of those that joined from other prides. "Thank you for the offering," he said, noticing that the green was as vivid a green as it would be on the healthiest leaf. A curious thing, as he dropped them into the growing ash pile. There were still echos of the other offerings within it, with the barest outline of the flowers and feather still visible. "Your new life and future is in the Sky clan. Thank you, Camillia."

The next one to approach wasn't one at all; they were twins. Twins that clearly had a life that started together, grew up together, and they would remain entangled together for the rest of their lives. He was willing to separate them if that's what their offerings told him, but he had a strong suspicion that it would say the opposite. "Thank you for your shared offerings, mixed together I am certain that they will tell me what it is I need to know to put you into your future home," Skan explained, clearly seeing how anxious they were about the unknown. When the smoke cleared, he smiled to each of them kindly. "You are to be within the Sky clan, together. Go find your new family in that clan."

Next on the list was a lion that seemed built a little large, though with Skan's small frame almost anyone with rogue-blood seemed large to him. The clean white coat was a stark difference to the dark dappled markings twisting along his body. Though Skan assumed he would be confident, he seemed anything but. "Thank you," Skan said when accepting the offering. He wondered what bit of this lion's past would be shown to Skan when he burned his offering, and it confirmed a bit of his suspicions. One from the pride that had migrated through Ela'wadiyi lands, only to eventually disperse a time later. A decent number of that pride had migrated back down the mountain and found themselves a home here, much to the concern of Skan, though it has all turned out well so far. "With your strong stature, origin, and disposition, you are to be within the Earth clan. Welcome to the Ela'wadiyi."

Sometimes he wanted to say that this job was too easy. Others he wanted to not let the applicant know what clan they would be in; for sometimes transitioning into the Ela'wadiyi was not easy. Such a quiet life here, where thankfully little conflict arises and no real risks from outsiders would come. But this new member was one of those times when he knew that this part of the job was the easiest. "Welcome," he said, bobbing his head to the lion as well as the avian who dropped off the offering in front of Skan's paws. The bond here was obvious to anyone who opened their eyes, but ceremony and order was required, and so he dropped their offering in the ash pile. Regardless of how small it was when he had started, it was growing quite large at this point; proof of new roots being placed here. "Dhati, Kifafa. You are to be together in the Bird Clan...welcome to my clan, new members," he grinned. -- And yet another new transplant approached him. Just in her use of the term 'spirits' let Skan know that this was one who came back down from the mountain. "Welcome Akili'kwa'hewa, to the Ela'wadiyi. A land I hope doesn't seem too strange to you." He accepted her offering, watching the fur curl and spark as it disappeared, smoke the only thing left as it swirled upwards towards the sky. Climbing up, but explaining a story with every little twist and bit that disappeared on its ascension. "Your new clan is the Earth Clan. Thank you for coming here today."

(roll is for the second lioness) This wasn't the first time that Skan had been given a piece of jewelry as an offering, nor one that was mostly made of metals. But it did complicate the process, since these items rarely created smoke. It would alter the tone of the small fire, typically nearly putting it out before it would start to show him anything. He had to watch the heat change the ring, see how it would lose its shape, and in what way, to tell where this golden lioness needed to go. "Your new home is with the Sky Clan, to reach new heights in your life. Welcome to the Ela'wadiyi." -- Skan shifted his shoulders a bit, seeing that he had gotten through most of the crowd here. There were still some to come, to approach him and officially begin their new life within the Ela'wadiyi. He knew that many of them were shy, or some liked to join together in pairs; that would come. He didn't quite expect the next lioness to have a little klipspringer attached to her side; it wasn't terribly common for the Ela'wadiyi to have companion animals, though the trend was growing as time went on. The quiet lioness was weak, but still was able to take off her necklace and give it to Skan for her offering. He nodded to her, gently setting it on the pile and watching it burn away. A husk of what it was would remain, but it would tell bits and pieces of the lioness' story to Skan. "You have a long road ahead of you, but it will be here, in the Earth Clan, Asenath."

The next lioness that approached was prepared, having her offering ready for him to take as soon as she approached him. It was another uncommon item, but it would tell him what he needed to know about her to place her within the right clan. "Welcome, Amaris," he quietly said, watching the offering disappear into the soft flames. The twine caught fire quickly, dragging the tooth down with it. "You've traveled far, and your new home to rest your feet shall be in the Earth Clan."

Nitesh had waited till many other lines had gone before he took his turn to approach Skan. He took a deep breath before pulling some of his fur from his mane. Nitesh had known since the moment he stepped foot in the pride that this was home. It was funny seeing as they had passed through it not so long ago when his pride relocated to the mountains. It hadn't felt like home then but Nitesh figured that was because there were things he had to do before he was able to settle. "My name is Nitesh." he said simply as he handed over his fur and waited to hear which clan he would be a part of. To say Rix was nervous would be an understatement. Though in all fairness the pale lioness had been nervous ever since her old pride had been attacked. The lioness clung close to the side of her mate Jaroren as she approached Skan. She moved slowly as she pulled hair from her tail handing it over to find where she fit in this new home of hers. Although nervous she was also excited, she and Jaroren had put a lot of time into finding and picking a new home and she knew that she would be safe her. "My name is Rix." she said in a small voice.

The lion had waited a long while and watched many take their turn before himself moving towards the lion beside the smoldering pile. What it was exactly he was waiting for he couldn't really say. There was a feeling of nervous uneasiness in the pit of his stomach. In retrospect it seemed silly. He had been through the motions so many times, now. Coming to a new home. From the snow-capped mountains that were his first home, to the swamps of the Jini-msenmi, to the mountains, and now... And now here.
He shook out his earth-toned mane, continuing to watch. Some figures looked familiar. Old faces from an old home. It would nice to be in the company of a pride again, especially one that had opened their doors to his former pride when chaos had taken them.
The moment that he decided was right came suddenly. The lion took a breath and held it there for a moment before making his way towards the tattooed lion. "I am Safi'bora," he started, meeting the lion's eye before looking to the embers, unsheathing a claw and cutting a lock of mane before presenting it to the leader. He was a lion of no worldly possessions. The pieces of himself were all he had.
"To new homes," he murmured under his breath as he watched the embers burn.

Ru hovered to the back, shy and waiting for her turn to present her item, a small bundle of dried leaves all tied together with a bit of string. She watched closely as the others had been told their clan, and she wondered what hers would be. The lioness took a deep breath and walked towards the Skan, presenting her item. "My name is Rú," She said, her voice a little shaky but it came out quite well, if she did say so herself.

Los hadn't intended to stay. He'd simply been passing through and investigating out of curiosity and things he'd heard from others who had done so -- ex-swampies, ex-mounties, and the like. It was quite a surprise then, when his vagabond heart had been captured by a native lioness that...he still did not know her name. It was an infatuation unlike any other, and he found himself bumbling and nervous. When given the chance to become part of the pride, he'd all but tripped over his own paws to come up with an offering. Now he finally barreled in to the ceremony, hoping he wasn't too late. Lucky for him, there were many others like himself joining the pride. Finally his turn came, and he presented a feather with a lock of his own tail hair tied to it. "The name's Los!" He said with a youthful beam.

The end of the crowd was within sight, and the ceremony was settled into a steady, comfortable pace as nerves on all sides relaxed. Anybody anxiously waiting others to go first would have to join into the fray now. The bright pink lion that approached next offered some fur and Skan put it into the fire, waiting to see what the smoke would tell him. "Nitesh, your place is in the Bird Clan," he said, grinning at a second new member for his own home clan, "Welcome." He watched as a pair of lions approached next, the pale lioness looking especially nervous. He offered an encouraging nod as the hair went into the fire and began to smoulder. "Rix and Jaroren," he said, "Your new life begins in the Earth Clan." Next up was a very brown lion who looked like he would fit right in. He seemed nervous and watching the swirls in the smoke, Skan knew why. "It’s a long path that brought you here," he said, "Your new home is in the Shadow Clan, Safi’bora. Welcome to the Ela’wadiyi." The remaining crowd was small, there were only three lions left and the lioness that approached was visibly nervous. He accepted her interesting offering and put it into the fire. "Thank you," he said, watching the leaves burn, "You’ll find yourself welcome in the Sky Clan, Ru." A popular result this year. The Sky and Earth Clans were getting quite the boost, and with only two remaining it wasn’t likely that the others would catch up. But that was a good thing for those two clans.. especially the Sky Clan. Los’ dramatic arrival and offering made Skan raise a brow but he smiled at the enthusiasm and added the offering to the fire. Unfortunately for Los, the fire lacked his zeal and it took a moment before the feather began to burn. "It looks like your place is in the Shadow Clan, welcome to the Ela’wadiyi, Los." (( Jaroren and Batasa-sa-Gulna are now the only lions who need posts! Jaroren has been rolled with Rix, but should still get a post. Batasa-sa-Gulna will get a roll after a post! :3 ))
