Espeon_Commander Crystal would stand, hacking and coughing from the smoke and using the staff to support herself. However, she'd draw in chi from around her, letting it grow and compress before releasing it, attempting to use an unfocused Psychic to create a shockwave to put out the flames. If she was successful, she'd charge forward, eyes and staff still glowing as she'd attempt to beat Dark over the head with the staff. "How nice," Dark would comment as he was hit with the staff, but the shockwave would have no effect, giving him a chance to immediately grab the staff once it made an impact. "She thinks she has a use here." He'd immediately unleash a Dark Pulse to try and throw Crystal back and off the staff before spitting out a strange, purplish liquid onto the ground nearby. It'd immediately bubble upon impact and release an even thicker gas to just make visibility all the worse for everyone. He'd start backing up, gripping the staff and intending to simply take it for himself as the Mist began to mingle with the gas released by Toxic, creating a highly poisonous mix that people might want to get far, far away from.

Reno would glare daggers at the Xatu hybrid before speaking. "One, what the hell sort of thing thing have you attracted to me? Two, what did you trap me in that made me attract this thing? Three..." Reno would halt as he watched the chaos occurring against Varuna and his Pokemon, the gale force winds and pure wave of chi alerting him to the fact that there were other things actually occurring besides his manhunt. "Uh...Third, why the hell is your little supergroup here?" He mumbled out, watching Horus for any attempts to escape even as Reno attempted to look a little more at what Dan and the others were dealing with.

Darksol88 The smoke left behind by the resulting Fire Spin was thick and noxious, an attempt to keep her and Lykas, let alone the rest at bay if they didn't want firsthand experience in what a Houndoom's flames were capable of. Either way, it'd perhaps buy Varuna just enough time to ensure that he'd reclaim the staff. "You should consider yourselves lucky that that's all I'm doing," he'd comment with a low growl, the closest thing to showing any emotion that wasn't just cool and calculated. SubonicXP The Haze attack would engulf the cave at a surprising rate, reducing everyone's vision to the point where they could barely see their hand in front of their face. From somewhere in the darkness a Shadow Ball which blended into the Haze perfectly would fly straight for Lykas. Revenge. Lykas reformed into his solid self, attempting to catch hold of Dark before he got away after the attack on Crystal, but the hybrid was much faster than he was, leaving him only an inch or so from the Houndoom hybrid's wall of flames. Best not to touch that if he could avoid it. Then of course came the Shadow Ball from the depths of the darkness. It struck him as he released a weakened Water Spout to put out the flames, interrupting the flow of water from his gem and causing him to stumble. He lost his balance for a brief moment but that was all it took in the enclosed space for the unfortunate to happen. He reached for something to stabilize himself and found his left right hand passing through the wall of flames. "GAH! Hot!" He yelped, yanking his hand back and tucking into himself. Thankfully, Crystal's Psyhic explosion seemed to have put out the flames before he fell into them completely, allowing him to roll when he landed. Trying to ignore the pain in his hand, he turned towards Dark and released his Clawitzer. "Okeanos, Water Pulse!"He commanded, pointing at the enemy with a tentacle. While Okeanos attacked him, he would throw a Hex towards Varuna. He'd been burned by his attack earlier so this should be even more effective than normal if he could hit him now. Gods his hand hurt!

That time Ryan was successful in dispelling the Haze, the Defog's chi mixing with the Haze's and neutralizing it. Unfortunately that did nothing for the now airborne Toxic as it had already mixed with the airborne water molecules and was unaffected by the Defog, they would need something that instead neutralizes poison.
Regardless Varuna was now realized and he was about to Ice Beam Dan in the face. Before he could a single Bullet Speed smacked into his hand, stopping the beam from being fired. Shortly after an Energy Ball would slam into his shoulder, sending the hybrid spinning. If that wasn't enough as the hybrid ceased his spin and was now on a single knee a head splitting migraine took over him as the Hex took effect. "None of you will...understand...I apologize..." Varuna moaned as he clutched his head. However those who were chi sensitive would take note that a massive amount of chi was welling up in Varuna, an incredible amount. They wouldn't have much time to ponder what was going on however as the ground would burst open in places and powerful jets of water would surge out, threatening to smack anyone unfortunate enough to be nearby. That wasn't the dangerous part however as the cave was now rapidly beginning to fill up with Varuna's Surf attack, the waters churning violently as it did. Varuna didn't even care that his own teammate would suffer.
"First off, I didn't trap you in anything." Horus said in a dull tone. "It did. You felt it, didn't you? In your dreams, a terrible creature that wanted you, completely and utterly. You see, it had been chasing me for awhile, until I learned that all I had to do was give it something else to turn its attention towards. How lucky was I to find you on this little outing. All I needed to do was provide it with a vulnerable target and thus I had you put to sleep. As for our super group, as you put it, I don't see any harm in telling you. That rod unlocks an ancient vault here in this very cave. What's inside I can't even see. Now don't you think we should flee?" Horus asked as the water came.
Reno's senses would be tested before he could answer however as Horus was just stalling for time so that his Sigilyph, the one that actually used Hypnosis on him, could lock onto Reno's mental signature with Miracle Eye and unleash a Telekinesis on him and throw the Channeler off his trainer and into a nearby rock wall.

Ryan would signal for Dewdrop to give him a lift to higher ground and the trio landed safely on such. But for how long would that be true?

RC would take to the air to avoid the torrent of water.
"Are you done waiting or are you waiting for this to scream at you?" Martha would scold the younger Grand Master.
"If it started screaming I would wonder, but yes, I can't hold back any longer. This needs to end, now." RC would respond and then reach into his pocket.
After rummaging through for a few seconds, he would produce a Dragon Gem and then take a deep breath. "And here.we.go." he mutters before consuming the gem.
If Varuna thought he had caused a chi spike, it was nothing to the level that was now radiating from RC as he became enveloped in a blinding light. Once the light had faded, RC would be completely altered. He now had glowing energy strands hanging off his body and the back of his tail. He also and a new pair of neck fins as well and a what resembled a mouth guard. The two most notable changes were the intense iridescent golden glow of his eyes and the change in his voice.
"I have had enough of this nonsense!" he would state, his voice echoing through the cave. It was not the voice of RC or Martha, but that of another. The embodiment of the highest form of dragon kin. "You will return my staff to me immediately and depart this place or else." the voice would decry, an ultimatum of last chance for Varuna, Dark, and Horus to give up whatever they were pursuing and leave with their lives and bodies in one piece. Or would they dare challenge the power and might of a Hybrid whose power was now only outdone by Arceus himself?

The second Dark felt the immense chi spike from RC, let alone the flash of light and sudden change in appearance, he'd give the mega evolved hybrid a glare that suggested that he was completely nuts. "Have you lost what remnants of your mind you had left!?" He'd ask before pulling a chain out to reveal the trump card he had hidden, a Mega Stone. As he clutched the Houndoominite in one hand, the other would start producing a bright flame that could rival the sun itself as he fully intended to keep that staff. Even as chaotic as he was, he did have some standards. RC had just screamed past whatever threshold that was.
"Or does your attack plan include killing your entire team in the name of trying to get Arceus' attention? Because of your precious stick!?" He'd throw the ball of flame into the sky, brightening the area. While the Sunny Day seemed out of place, it wouldn't once the Mega Stone and a Key Stone within one of his pockets began to glow. "And here I thought that man fish was the daft one here!" An even brighter glow would engulf the cave as if daring RC to try his worst, a third chi spike happening in the span of mere minutes. While it wouldn't be as immense as what RC unleashed, it'd be intimidating in its own right.
His horns, normally curved and raked back, would straighten and jut out on the sides, becoming even more pointed than they already were. His body would appear thicker if not a little armored from the arguable increase in bones around his chest and back. His hands and feet would quickly shift from orange to crimson as heat built up, and his tail looked like it could've doubled as a trident. It was a welcoming into the very pits of hell, with Dark rolling out the red carpet in a way only the Mega Houndoom hybrid could. "You will rescind your threat and leave. Or would you like to see if hellfire can singe a dragon's scales?"

"U-um... hey, guys? Maybe we should get out of here before things get really bad! Yanno, before we're caught in the middle of a Mega Evolution-fueled rampage?" Cera would ask, broadcasting her comments to everyone aside from RC and Dark. Even she didn't feel right about leaving Varuna and Horus high and dry, despite everything earlier.
Amaranth was, so far, already taking some tentative steps back at what was going on. Whatever was about to happen, it didn't seem too pleasant, and neither did the Absol she had encountered earlier suddenly brushing against her leg as if saying "I TOLD YOU!"

Reno would attempt to respond to Horus when two events occurred that completely distracted him from the Sigilyph's Telekinetic removal from its master: Namely, the Mega Evolution of RC and Dark. Attention drawn away from Horus, Reno had the sense to cut off his Energy Sight before he was thrown and before he would be blinded by the storm of chi now occurring. Slamming into the wall near where Crystal and the staff was, Reno would only have a second before he had to catch his Wynaut flying after him. Heaving a sigh of relief as he managed to avoid any of that dying stuff, he would simply sit back for a moment to drink in the chaos of what had happened while he had been distracted. Varuna had reduced most efforts against him into destruction of the arena and the water that was currently lapping at his legs, RC had decided that in a closed off cave was the perfect place for him to Mega Evolve and likely kill them in a cave in, and Dark was prepared to fry everyone involved here to a crisp.
Locking eyes onto the staff again, Reno could feel himself reaching the only conclusion to this showdown that wouldn't end with all those involved dead or, glancing at his left arm, crippled beyond normal medicine. 'Crystal, let go. I need that staff.' Reno telepathically told the Espeon hybrid, using the communication method to bypass the noise and chaos of the cave.
Provided the Espeon complied to hand over the implement, Reno would walk to the vault door that Horus had called attention to before telepathically communicating with the entire room. 'Stop this. I am going to open the vault. You lot can enter alongside me and I can see what exactly you take but will not stop you from taking it. Then we all leave peacefully. Otherwise, I am breaking the magic stick over my knee and depositing it in the nearest volcano so that this insane game of one-upping each other can be stopped before anyone here ends up killing their entire team. Understood?'

Lykas didn't try and run away when Varuna used Surf. He could breath in the water, at least. He was one of the few who would be able to fight Varuna in the water as it rose and he knew it. He was preparing to attack once more when Reno pulled off his little stunt, distracting him long enough to actually realize what was happening around him.
RC had somehow managed to break beyond his limits, so much so that he couldn't even contain it all anymore, it looked like.
And the Houndoom hybrid looked to have followed suite and mega evolved as well. In that moment, he wondered just how worth it this fight was. So many people here fighting over a stick RC claimed was his. And he'd had how long to go back and get it since it was supposedly first given to him?
"You know what? Screw this. RC, you gave that staff up however long ago when you didn't bother going back to get it when whatever was stopping you then ended. I say let the freaking old man have it." He exclaimed at last, beginning to walk towards Varuna now.

As the only other one who seemed to have enough of a backbone to do anything was Reno, Dark felt absolutely no threats outside of RC. He'd walk up to Reno without much of a care at what would happen, yanking the staff right out of his or Crystal's hands, whoever still had it. Someone would be doing something here, and as far as he was concerned, the war was won. If RC killed all of them, he'd do what he came here for. If not, well, chances are things would succeed anyhow, they'd just take more time.
"I believe this isn't yours, seeing as you lot are too cowardly to even do much more than back up and make baseless threats along with too much banter. Varuna had his chance too, but I should thank him for all his help. I owe all of this to him!" He'd walk into the vault and raise the staff without any hesitation, glaring at each and every person in there and ready to kill any of them at a moment's notice before looking to the staff again. "Now, I do believe you will lead me to the orb in here? You might want to work while I still have a modicum of patience. There will be no more games, no more dancing around. Oh, and you Snagems?"
He'd start walking further in, back turned. "Congratulations, YOU LOSE. Now lay in your mess like the dogs you are!" With a snap of his fingers, the ground underneath everyone would suddenly spout a massive pillar of flames, the Inferno attack dumping even more toxins into the area and threatening to fry them all at once. Unless they left, their deaths were completely and utterly inevitable.

RC was unfazed by the incoming flames. "You wretched mongrel! That is no mere stick! That is the Heaven's Staff. It is a Draconid Relic that is supposed to only be in the possession of the Ruler of Sky Pillar. It was stolen from it's home on top of Sky Pillar by the Dragon Clan that rose in the Draconid's absence, an issue I will have to discuss with Claire. All I had wanted was to reclaim what was rightfully mine. But YOU are now the one who has gone to far!" Mega RC would clearly state before blasting Dark with a Ancientpower Attack.

Ryan would recall Dewdrop and Cyano before diving into the water Varuna had summoned and let Ursula swim around him. "You have lied to us for far too long, Master Varuna. and your lies almost got me killed. That is not something I am ready to forgive you for anytime soon. So you just might want to finally come clean about your motives and maybe try and make peace with your students!" Ryan would shout at Varuna. He was just a tad bit upset.

As the flames came up Varuna would cease flooding the cave and instead condensed it down into volleys of countless Water Pulses, attempting to counter the Inferno flame pillars. "Later, Ryan! We have more pressing matters at hand. All of you must escape before the toxins kill you." Varuna exclaimed as he was doing his best to try and keep the flames at bay as they came up but it seemed to be a losing battle, even with his numerous Water Pulses one after another. "I'll drown you for this, vile demon!" He shouted at Dark.
As for Horus he had gotten the hell out of here back when the two Mega Evolved. He saw his chance and took it.
And finally, Sub would snap to once Dark's Inferno went off. He didn't know why, but a strange sensation overcame him and he began dream almost. He didn't even remember what he was dreaming about, all he knew he had fallen on Lykas and now this is going on. What the hell happened to him? "s**t, Dark went Mega. We're getting out of here, now!" Sub cried as she released Gardy, readying a teleport. He didn't really know what was going on but he knew good and well what Dark's abilities were. Death.

Reno would stare up at the storm of oncoming death that was best displayed by the conflict between Varuna and Dark as the Water Master suppressed the hellfire. Now was his chance to get out of there. And he was leaving RC this time. Damned idiot escalated this conflict himself and wanted to be charbroiled and there was no way Reno was risking the others in this senseless endeavor. Leaping back towards Crystal with Harleen clutching onto his shoulder, the red haired psychic hurled a Pokeball towards RC and the others who would not reach Sub in time. Out would emerge Kaiden, who Reno who telepathically connect with Gardy before extending the reach to all of the Snagems in the area who would willingly accept such a link. When this was done, Reno would pump all of his chi into the pair of teleporters in order to get all those linked to teleport away to wherever Gardy was aiming to take them.

In spite of all that was happening and the fact that Dark was trying to roast them all, Lykas ignored the order to run. Varuna had told him he was on the wrong side before and although he was still ticked over the damage to his beautiful hair, he was willing to ser that aside for now for one reason only. To find out the truth. He refused Reno's connection attempt, dropped his tentacles into the water around him and fired off a Water Spout to assist Varuna in dousing the Inferno Dark had unleashed. "That damn dog needs a muzzle." He quipped, offering a small, but likely confusing grin to Varuna in the meantime. Once this was over, then he would worry about questioning Varuna and getting his answers.

Dark and RC would clash in epic fashion, causing much destruction through out the cave. Despite Varuna and Lykas's best efforts to fight Dark's toxic flames from killing the spectators inside (and themselves) the Mega Evolved fighting was simply too much for the already weakened Water Grand Master and his pupil to keep up with. Thanks to Reno and Gardy the Snagems were able to teleport out, leaving the two Mega Evolved Pokemon to kill each other. Fortunately for Lykas and Ryan however, Varuna agreed to come to Snagem HQ with them to explain things in better detail.
What secrets was the Water Grand Master hiding? What will become of RC and Dark?
