[ Strategy Guide ] - You are here! , This thread is the HOW TO 'NERA THREAD. The whole pride will be broken down. Anything you need to know will be here Icly/OOCly. Any questions should have the answers here! If you still have questions, Head over to our open discussions thread or quote Chi Sohma, and it will be answered and added here!

♦ First off, you need to find a rank that fits your character! Head to our [ Ranks/Members Thread ] to find out more information on ranks!


»» Cubs Born To the 'Nera

» Any cub born to an upper/high/council/royal class member will be certed simply Royal.

» Any cub born to an middle/lower class member will be certed simply Citizen.

» Any cubs that grow to their Adolescence/Adult- They will need to select a career path regardless of the class they are born in. A career path can be selected from the first row of ranks in the [ Ranks Image ].

» Cubs will also have to post a JOINING APPLICATION. Usually the parent would simply need to post an update form, but since people keep forgetting, please post your cubs! If you received a cub from this pride, throw in a joining form JUST IN CASE! so we can know where to put your cub in the member's list and what rank you will like your character to pursue!

♦ Next, fill out a joining application! [ Joining and Updates Thread ].

♦ If you are considering changing your rank soon to a higher rank (such as, your SoA starts as a Grunt, then a Fighter, and moves up to Currency Fighter after you gain the roleplays), if you know the change will not take much time, then please Do Not Post for a cert until you have gained your wanted rank through roleplay. This is just to make things easier for your certist (if you do post for a cert, keep in mind that gaining a new cert for each new rank may take a while).

♦ Please advise us/let us know when your rp count has hit the time of upgrading. You may find the Rank Upgrade Form [ here ]. This lets us know where your at in ranks to keep the memberlist updated and so we can prevent people from certing their soa wrongly. Please do not post for a cert with just any rank you choose unless you met the specified requirements!

♦ You can then post in your appropriate colorists certing thread. for their 'starting rank'. If you want to wait to get your cert til you get to your desired rank ( we approve this highly ) before asking for a cert, though it is not required, but the rps to get to said rank is STILL a requirement. Please DO NOT get a cert with an upper ranks if you have not achieved the status yet iccly.

♦ Once you post in the joining thread, and are accepted you are welcome to roleplay. You do not have to wait for an official cert!

. : . What You Need To know . : .

♦ What you need to know In Characterly about your character joining the pride:

There are only THREE ways that your character could have ended up here.

1) If your character was born here.
2) Your character was knocked out, and dragged in to the pride.
3) Your character was blindfolded and carried in to the pride.

♦ How your character ended up here is up to you. But most if not all the lower ranks do not know the ways to leave the pride safely. Only high ranks know how to navigate in the wastelands outside the pride without dying or getting severally ill.

♦ Anytime your character leaves the pride, they are blindfolded if they are in the lower ranks and escorted by a high ranking member.

♦ When your character is scheduled to return, you will randevú with a fighter that will blindfold you and escort you back in to the pride safely. Fighters/Warriors are roaming specific parts of the wasteland to help members back to the pride.

♦ Once you have hit a High Ranked position (if you are a rogue joining), Your superior will teach you the safe routes. This can be rped if desired, but it is assumed icly that this tradition is upheld the moment you obtain a high rank.

♦ When a high born cub hit adolescences, they are taught the safe routes.

♦ Middle ranked born cubs are taught the safe routes when they hit adult.

♦ Lower ranked born cubs may never know the safe routes.


♦ What you need to know Out of Characterly:

The reason the 'Nera blindfolds/carries/escorts/randevú characters in to the pride is so when a character is exiled, or tries to escape the pride, the wastelands in which the pride sits in the middle of, will kill off your character. Either from hallucinations from the unsafe paths, is poisoned, hunger, dehydration or being picked off by monitor lizards in the area or from the ever feared black mambas or puff adders. Humans have been recently spotted and have killed off a couple of members already. These wastelands are hot and muggy with no sign of life for the most part ( except for the dangerous ones ).

♦ The reason for this is the pride is not too far from Lake Nyos. Certain parts of the wasteland have geyser openings that leak the deadly gas. In short, The 'Nera is located in a dangerous area. But the 'Nera itself is a crater with it's own cave system that has not yet to intersect with the deadly Lake's gas.

♦ Thankfully enough, the Goddess of Tornadoes has blessed the pride with a tornado that forever encompasses the outside of the pride- protecting the pride from any deadly gas getting inside.

. :: . How To Go Up in Rank . :: .

»» Adolescence and Joining Members Career Rank System

♦ Ranks are based on activity. The higher your activity in the pride, the higher the ranks you can apply for are.

♦ For Example:

♦ If your character starts at Entertainer, but wants to be an Okaa-san they must rise to Currency Entertainer, then rise to the Geisha rank before reaching Okaa-san status. They then must satisfy each rise in rank's requirements.

» Entertainer to Currency requires two roleplays.
» Currency to Geisha requires another five roleplays.
» Geisha to Okaa-san requires two roleplays, and recruit at least three Entertainers or Geisha in to your character's Den/Okiya.

♦ It doesn't matter how long it takes for you to go up in rank, you will just be classified in the current rank til you upgrade to the other. First come, first serve, if you wanted one of the more limited ranks like council.

♦ Most promotions in ranks will require five roleplays to prove activity. Most new members of the pride will start as Citizens (if pureblood) or Slave/Grunts for hybrids/other species children will start as slaves.

♦ See the 'How To Get A Cert' section to read our comments on cert changes when it comes to rising in ranks.

♦ To upgrade your rank, post your upgraded form in the joining/updates thead, linking to your roleplays to show you have met the requirements.

♦ After you've been accepted to a higher rank. Your character is assumed to have been chosen by their superior ( usually a council member in charge of overseeing the career path ) and announced to the rest of their career subordinates of their rise in rank. From then on your character iccly gets special treatment like respect, and better living space.

♦ Another way of upgrading your rank is by completing missions in the [ Missions forum]
- To up grade to the next rank depending on your characters career, you will need a total of: 15 points ( May change depending on mission activity )

♦ If you have won a character, and they are put in a high rank. The only way they will lose their rank is if you are completely inactive for several months without any rps. Your character will be demoted. The in character reason will be that a superior or one of the pride leaders would have told your character to step down til they prove themselves more dedicated to take the rank. A replacement will be issued in a case by case basis.

. :: . Changing Rank . :: .

♦ If your character wants to change their rank, all they need to do is post an update form in the Joining/Upgrade/Update thread.

♦ Once your character has joined in a career path, they start off at the lowest rank in that career path.

♦ Example:

♦ My character is a Witch Doctor but she wants to be an Okaa-san. She will first need to change her rank to Entertainer, then proceed with gathering rps or mission points to upgrade her rank. Ie, she will need to start from the beginning of the changed career path.

♦ Adolescence/Joining Adult (+0rps) = Loan Shark-> Adult (+5rps) = King Pin
♦ Adolescence/Joining Adult (+0rps) = Herbalist -> Adult (+2rps) = Witch Doctor -> (+5rps) = Shaman
♦ Adolescence/Joining Adult (+0rps) = Worshipper -> Adult (+5rps) = Priest/ess

♦ Adolescence/Joining Adult (+0rps) = Entertainer-> Adult (+2rps) = Currency Entertainer -> (+5rps) = Geisha -> (+2rps and 3 geisha or entertainer recruits) = Okaa-san

♦ Adolescence/Joining Adult (+0rps) = Slave -> Adult (+0rps) = Racer -> (+5rps "Must win 1st in three races") -> Champion Racer

. :: . Specialty Ranks . :: .

♦ To become a council member, you must go max out your ranks, and if there is an available slot for a council member in your career path, then you may apply for a councilor rank. You must obtain a rp with one of the Boss/Boss Lady of the pride to receive that upgrade.

♦ To become a right hand/paw, you will have to plot or be selected to obtain the rank.

♦ Only Boss/Boss Lady will be have Right Hands.

♦ The children of the Boss/Boss Lady will have Right Paws.

♦ To be a right hand/paw, You must fill out an upgrade form and have the owner of the boss/lady or owner of one of their children to quote you and say they approve your upgrade. Then your character can be certed as a Right Hand or Right Paw. You are allowed to own both, you will have to quote yourself and list the character that your right hand/paw will be bonded to.

♦ To be a right hand/paw your character will forever be bonded to protect the one that approved them. So pick your right hands/paws wisely! This rank is not a romantic bonding. It simply means that your character vows their life to protect the cub or boss for their whole lives.

♦ If you no longer want your character to be right hand/paw, you will need to update your character and the reason for their loss of rank. You will then fall to the last rank you were before obtaining the right hand/paw rank.

. : . Breeding & Member Restrictions . : .

♦ You can go up in rank no matter what rank your character starts in. If they are a slave, and you are actively seeking rps, you can change their career path!

♦ If your character wishes to go on a mission or have an rp outside the pride, please ICLY assumed that if your character is Middle Class or LOWER, they have a handler or someone accompanying them ie, like their superior.
Note:
A handler is a currency fighter that watches out for members and takes them in and out of the pride. They will need to meet up with their handler if they want to come back to the pride.

+ You may also rp in the roguelands IF your character has been selected/plotted to be traded/sold to another pride or individual.

♦ The pride is in a crater. There is only one way in that everyone knows about and there are guards there so please don't rp your pride members scavenging through the roguelands without being noticed. If they happen to be in the pride lands without an escort/handler- and they could die because of the harsh wasteland elements.

♦ Middle and Lower ranks do not have the ability to participate in the Mix & Match Breedings. The ONLY exception to this, if the pride has an event that takes place in the roguelands. An announcement will be posted if this happens. Example: [ The Great Vaudeville Race ] - Filler Section.


» High Class & Royal restriction + Rogue Breeding

♦ These classes can go in and out of the pride freely but they must return back to the pride. This also means that your character WILL BE SEEN heading in or out since there is only one entrance and exit. If your character does not return back within a few days.. a high grunt or currency fighter will be assigned to bringing your character back. ( This is mainly for plot options <3 ) It can be iccly assumed as well.

♦ High/Upper/Royal classes do not have restrictions with breeding! They can rogue breed and participate in Mix and Match Breedings as they please! Although some may frown upon this!


» Hybrid Breedings:

♦ The Kuroi'Nera does not encourage hybrid breedings. Ever since the 'Nera civil war, Boss Lady Emi has released the restrictions of hybrids going through ranks but we still want to keep a quota!

♦ Exceptions to hybrid breedings is if you have a plot ( not mix and match ) OR if there is an event going on, Example: [ The Great Vaudeville Race ] - Filler Section.

♦ We need to keep a ration of 90% of Cheetahs, and thus, we would like you to keep this in mind when breeding!

. :: . Location And Pride Land Descriptions . :: .

When you think of the pride terrain. Think about the movie 'Dinosaur'.

♦ [ Images of references ], [ Images of references ] - For the rogue wasteland leading to the pride.

Around the outskirts of the pride is very hard rocky and muddy sorta terrain called the wastelands, game does not near it often and food is rather scarce with huge geysers that emit poisonous gas! The terrain is pretty barren with canyon like tunnels every which way. It looks similar to a dried up maze! Poisonous snakes make their homes here with occasional monitor lizards. Paste the waste lands, there is a huge Tornado, that would be where the Kuroi'Nera resides. Straight in the middle of it. if the Tornado lets you pass, you will see:

♦ There is a ring of lush vegetation.
♦ Then after that lush is the crater.

♦ The crater has trees speckled inside but for the most part there is a spring in the middle. The overall ground is darker in color and slightly hard yet can be softer than the outside wastelands where the dirt is oranges and yellows. With speckled grass patches every now and again. Around the spring is where you'd see the most grass.

♦ [ Crater would be in the middle with much less grass ] [ Without the city XD but instead, with a spring in the middle ]

The crater's walls have many many 'holes' in them. These are where dens are. The fighters, currency fighters share the bottom rows. The middle- basically heading upwards are the citizen, middle and low class dens. This is to prevent slaves from just walking out. Someone WILL hear you coming down in front of their dens.

♦ The royals and council have dens in the highest point of the crater, but that is simply for meetings. They in fact, live at the floor of the pride, where they have tunnels that lead to underground water reserves from the spring!
♦ Below them, surrounded by the many years of erosion. The water is clear, perfect for drinking. There are 'pools' if you will, and some may be for bathing while others are just there to swim in. This is a vital part to the pride.

.:// Usafi'tukufu Lands , Are a forest pride! The leopards there built an alliance with the 'nera.
+ A Trade Route was initiated
+ Guards were dispatched as well as cross training for Fighters.

.://Makono-epesi Lands, Were once a Lion/Cheetah dominated pride. They were the ones whom first brought races to Africa, and since, Emi has upheld the tradition and added racers to our own ranks to participate in the races.

News: The Pride has since, disbanded. Racers found are welcome to join the 'Nera if they so wish.

.:// Kulinda'Maua Lands , a chinese inspired cheetah-only pride. They were the sister pride to the 'Nera and have since, were close.
+ Trade Routes
+ Coliseum Fighting Events
News: The Pride was overrun by a village of two-leggers ( humans ), ie disbanded and had killed off many pride members! The 'Nera came in, but were pushed back enough to simply take the survivors and bring them to the 'Nera to be treated. They are allowed to leave if they so wish.

.:// Makini’Adhima Lands , is based loosely around the idea of the French Victorian era. These elegant cheetahs are prestige and truly an honor to become one. Janja'Nyoka and Nanashi established an alliance with them by honoring them with the first Outer-Pridal arranged marriage that grew about with the idea of mixing royal bloodlines. Along with not only being able to marry the french, they also welcome merchants with their own trade route and a place place to stay.
News:
+ This Pride is DISBANDED, All survivors of the tragic accident were escorted to the Kuroi'Nera. All the wounded were treated as of last year.

:// Mazunguko Lands , is a based on a strict brotherhood pride. Along Bugie's travels happened upon the brotherhood and came to Bosses with the find of a trade route. Though the Bosses don't quite understand this new lifestyle they see how valuable a trade route with them is.Their alliance is strictly business.
Most important points to the pride:
+ Male- ONLY pride.
Please Note:
+ This pride was disbanded. Some of their leftover inventions were brought to the 'Nera. Including FireFly baskets that are now hung within the tunnels and above the underground spring pools. The 'Nera found any stragglers and helped them find safe homes.

• 'Nera Civil War

+ Announcements that Followed the Civil War and It's End +

The Civil War brought many deaths for the pride. Seiji lost control of the pride as a whole because of his right hand, Teo. This amazingly talented right hand brought total anarchy to the pride! Hybrid sympathizers and cheetah supremacists found a bloody war til a herd of characters came to quiet down the mess. Emi, whom had been the princess that was supposed Dead, had brought in the calvary! New rulers came out after the dust settled. Many new ranks and rules were implemented!

Boss Lady Emi, and The Boss, Buluu.
Seiji, Emi's older brother had been pardon from all the hate that had festered while he was in ruling. Alas, he was moved to a far away pride that his parents are now apart of.

Janja'Nyoka and Nanashi ( The Founding Leaders of the Pride ) have also took residence in the seer pride and have wished the best in regards to Emi's ruling. Janja can sometimes be seen visiting for shorts amount of time!

Hybrids and non cheetahs were able to do the initiation test, and were treated as equals. Some, still grovel but the pride as a whole accepts that all creatures are a vital part to this pride. Without them, alliances could not have been built at all.

Gods were once again welcome in to the pride and now, have shrines dedicated to them that pride members can visit.

Things have been prosperous.


• The Great Vaudeville Race

The Race was in celebration of the pride's prosperity! The Boss Lady had brought together some of the most amazing racers that ever laid foot in africa and had brought them to amaze everyone, even rogues and other prides! Since the Race had amazing reviews and the turn out was also very amazing, The Boss Lady decided have this race happen annually! While the festivities have been going on, terrible news came upon the horizon!

The mysterious pride, of Navi- had a flood that destroyed their homes!?

Well obviously, The 'Nera have been waiting for a chance to infiltrate! Oh and behold, the ever gracious 'Nera to the rescue! Dispatches from the Race have been sent to help the pride in need! [ Announcement and Thread Link here! ]
