Nil'nocere started out a very small collection of healers that lived near a hot spring, originally called the Sano-Thermae. It grew, for a bit, under the watchful eyes of a Goddess, though the original pride eventually faltered, festered, and died off. That didn't stop one determined young leopon - a daughter of the Goddess - from seeking to bring her home back together.

Kilua'Ausi traveled, wandering the lands in search of other healers, or anyone of her own Lost Home that would return with her. With her luck and fortune, she found a leopardess, Asha, who had left to start her Journey as a journeyman before the Pride fell apart.

With the news of the pride's disbandment, Asha stayed determined and followed Kilua back to the hot springs, collecting a small rag-tag group on the way - a shy and cheerful cheetah called, and a down to earth leopon, and more! The rag-tag group set up their home not far from the original sight of the Lost Pride, making their own home.

Currently

The pride is small, but growing as well as it can.

The Pride's borders are constantly changing, with new locations being found or abandoned by the pride. They don't need a true constitency when everyone is welcome to join or leave as they wish. Those who wish to stay and help are allowed, of course, regardless of species (including familiars). Since the pride is such an open group, there is no set religion. No one in the pride should begrudge another's religious outlook, however, or there will be consequences. Despite this, the pride's Patron Goddess is the Goddess of Herblore, who was the previous leader of the original pride.

Family Life

Families are a wonderful part of Nil'nocere, and are celebrated no matter what form they may come in. However, there are a few key things that are frowned upon, though not rejected. Adolescent Breeding is frowned upon within the pride. The healers encourage waiting until adolescent members reach full maturity before trying to produce cubs, but they understand that things happen. In the event that this happens, a Midwife is assigned to the Adol as soon as possible and remains with them until the cubs are weaned. The pride also encourages that others keep their beliefs of how families should be to themselves, and not begrudge other family units their peach.

Cubs and Pups are raised with an open mind, allowing them to decide what path they wish to take in the future. The Youth of the pride is watched and taught by the entire pride. At Adolescence, the youth become Apprentices, where they decide their career path and worth towards it. OOCly, you will need to RP to advance in ranks from here!

Career Paths

There are three General Career Paths your SoA can follow: Healing, Crafting, or Defense. These paths may have sub-paths, but they always start with Apprenticeship. An apprentice with decide on their path, and receive a mentor several ranks up, aiding in their learning. This can be ICly done, or OOCly done. The Paths are detailed in the Ranks section of the subforum.

Occasionally, members will leave the pride as either Caravans or to form Outposts away from the pride.

Both Caravans and Outposts both hold at least one healer, one crafter, and one defender, however, there are some key differences. Caravans are always on the move, and are made up of mostly those in the Crafter rank. They go out and collect supplies and herbs, and other trinkets to return to the pride. However, Outposts either classed as Defense or Healing. Defense Outposts will hold mostly those in Defense members, meant to protect their pride. They are stationed beyond the pride's lands, but not within it. Healing Outposts can be anywhere, made up of mainly healers and is meant to help whatever pride or area they are in.

Non-members

Anyone is welcome in the pride, as stated before, but many do not stay. Those who are passing through are treated with hospitality. Some may even come to train as a healer from their own pride, before returning.

The pride also helps those outside the pride that need their aid. These are called Patients. And while not officially apart of the pride (and not certed thus), are treated as full members until they leave the pride, or decide to join.
