(Random bored rambling to avoid going to bed: )

There's this one really creepy, really old building on a small lake a town over from where I live, and I got curious about it so I just Googled it to find out what it was. Apparently it used to be a small Ford factory back in the 1920's, but now it's a place where hazardous materials are stored. Reports show how many tanks are there and three of them are listed as either gasoline or diesel, but two of them (still in service; installed in the 80's) are classified as "hazardous." They've had a couple leaks at that site, too. That's sketchy as all hell. And I mean, this building itself is sketchy from top to bottom. Overgrown with all kinds of weeds and vines, broken windows, damaged walls. I'm kinda surprised it hasn't fallen apart and slid down the hill into the lake yet, frankly. Why would you even store something hazardous there?! What if it's something radioactive and people break in and accidentally release it? gonk

Mom doesn't even want me to go back up tomorrow because of the predicted weather, but I can't just skip all of my classes on the first ******** day. Especially since I have non-school obligations on Monday, as well.

I'm hoping it ends up being a lot less severe than the news is making it out to be. And I REALLY hope the Mackinac bridge remains open.

Sounds rough :c
I'm driving up north next week and it's going to be snowing too. I've never driven in the snow so I'm a little nervous LOL. That being said it's only like an hour drive compared to your 6 hour drive crying

Ugh drive safely!

We're supposed to be going to TN sometime. We were supposed to go in December but we had to postpone it. I'm looking forward to seeing family but I'm not looking forward to the 8 hour car ride with the kids x_x

Holy crap. What's normally a 5-6 hour drive became an almost 8-hour drive today with how bad the roads were. gonk

There was one point closer to home where I suddenly hit a really bad sheet of ice while going about 65 mph, and my car's rear end started skidding diagonally forward into the next lane over. I was able to correct it in time, but I almost felt like I was about to spin. And then after I crossed the bridge, it was a total white-out for about 20 miles. I literally could not see the car that was maybe 6-7 feet in front of me before the snow struck. All of the lane lines were covered, I couldn't even see any of the reflective markers on the sides of the highway. I had to use my GPS's map to estimate the curvature of the road, because I was blind otherwise. emotion_0A0

But hey. I'm finally here. I'm alive. My car's undamaged (although very icy, and dirty). Not much more I can ask for.

Good to hear you made it safely.
