This week's topic is... Holiday Birthdays!
To some people, having a birthday coincide with a holiday or event is pretty much the coolest thing ever. To the unfortunate ones whose birthdays happen to fall on December, that would be another story, especially if it's on Christmas!
And then, there's the rare Thanksgiving birthday. Mon's birthday is on this year's Thanksgiving and that means that the whole day is just going to be a big buffet of turkey and side dishes with maybe some birthday pie. We're probably not going to be expecting any surprise gifts for her because everyone will be more focused on the holiday. I would love to have cake on Thanksgiving! cat_gonk Ugh! I don't know what I'll do about all of that. It's always one big feast anyway! cat_xp

My Dad's birthday is on the 30th, so I know how things go with combining Thanksgiving and birthday celebrations together. Dad doesn't mind having to combine events since it's usually just Mom and I celebrating it with him. Occasionally Grandma and a few other extended family members (on my Mom's side) might send him a card or pass along a birthday greeting but other than that, we don't do much in terms of celebrating his birthday (which he prefers anyway).
My Dad isn't a big person on cake, so he would definitely prefer a "birthday pie". xd
