It's that time again revolutionists! As the guild continues it's journey through beta testing, it's been a group effort to find and report bugs such as missing abilities, moves, items, and broken mechanics. Thank you all for your continued contributions to the guild! Today we have a TON of new updates ready to go, so hold on to your Ponyta, because the Mods of the Revolution have been working hard for the past month or so to get this update together.
Balm Mushrooms:
In light of the recent poll, we are currently no longer allowing Legendary Moves to be learned via Balm Mushrooms. However, this case isn't closed just yet. We will be making a poll or two in the near future to completely resolve the issues that are still at hand, so keep an eye out for future announcements and polls regarding this. Those of you who have Legendary Moves in your pokemon's learnset may keep them for now, we are trying to determine how to handle that issue presently and it will be the focus of our future polls.

Rules and Guidelines Updates
Communications List:
-Any and all legendaries have the POTENTIAL to communicate telepathically if you want them to or would like it to be canon for your character's legendary specifically.
-All pokemon with the move Psychic or the ability telepathy can communicate with humans
-Trainers who have been given permission to have telepathic abilities or the ability to communicate with pokemon via an element of story plot may communicate with pokemon of their choosing.
-All psychic and ghost type pokemon can communicate telepathically, however Rotom, though a ghost, may only communicate via electronic devices.
-Some Fakemon are telepathic or able to talk. Read the Fakedex entries and talk to the creators to find out more about Fakemon that can communicate.
Other Exceptions:
-Riolu (To trainer only)
-Lucario
-Chatot (able to mimic and repeat words over time)
-Murkrow (able to mimic and repeat words over time)
-Honchkrow (able to mimic and repeat words over time)
-Porygon
-Porygon2
-Porygon-Z
-Zorua
-Zoroark
-Ninetales (After Learning a Psychic or Ghost type Move)
Evolving Pokemon
For the most part, this is pretty cut and dry, but there are some points that need to be clarified:
-Pokemon that evolve by friendship require a minimum of three FP before they can do so.
-To evolve Inkay into Malamar, RP out your character's Inkay being flipped upside down in some form or fashion when it is level 30 or higher.
-To evolve Sliggoo into Goodra, bring it near any body of water and RP out the weather raining with Sliggoo out of it's pokeball at level 50 or higher to have it evolve.
-It is the RPer's choice whether their character's Wurmple evolves into Silcoon or Cascoon.
-There are three hold items that can be given to Tyrogue to hold in order to evolve it into one of it's three evolutions; a Defense Band, and Attack Band, and a Balance Band. Check the Pokemart for more details.
-Eevee can be evolved into Glaceon by leveling up while holding an Icy Rock, and into Leafeon with a Leaf Stone. We know this is different than in the games, but we didn't want to require people to go to the specific locations, and weren't sure how to specify the rocks within those locations, so we adjusted the evolution system slightly.
All other evolutions follow their normal methods, however if you have any questions about evolution, please quote a mod in the Questions Comments and Concerns thread and we'll be sure to help you sort out any confusion!
Literacy
We've been noticing far too many posts with only a few words or 1-2 lines of text in them, and while we can understand writers block, this trend of small posting or spam posting has caught our attention, and will be monitored closely from now on in addition to these new rules:
Pokemon: Eternal Revolution is a semi literate to literate guild, which means that posts should be made in narrative format. Please use quotations " " for speaking and do not use asterisks * * or dashes - - for actions or non spoken text. Also, as a general rule of thumb, at a MINIMUM, every post should be at least 3 to 5 decently sized lines or sentences. We understand that getting items, gaining experience, and moving to a new area and the like can require a lot of posts, but constant one or two liners is considered spamming, which is not allowed in this guild. RPing on your own is daunting at times, especially when posting for an area specific item, however you can always ask others for ideas in the OOC, or reach out for an RP partner to help add more content to posts. We will be slightly more lenient if shorter posts come every once in a while at the end of your rope or on a bad day, there are also certain kinds of guild events and time limited items such as 24 hour restrictions in which leniency will also be given for shorter posts, however we will let members know the literacy rules in the event information page so that you are made aware of what is acceptable. Otherwise, please keep in mind that writing out the math of a battle does not count as post content, only writing out the battle in RP terms counts as post content. If we get a complaint, and a mod considers your posts spamming, you will be warned, and then if the spamming continues, your RP posting will be restricted to a certain number per day for a period of time. If you post past your limit before the time is up, you will be kicked from the guild.
This sounds severe, however please understand that the mods are always open to those who ask for help. If you ask to make sure their shorter posts won't come off as spam, or check to make sure if a post is long enough, we will be far more lenient with this rule. Official warnings will only go out to those who spam post without consciousness of the fact that they are spamming. Please keep in mind that this rule is in place to keep things fair, since much of the guild runs on post counters, and there are rewards for the number of posts a person makes in the guild, therefore we do not want people spamming for faster rewards, or to milk every last bit of their bonus 24 hour exp boost. On top of that, it can also be really aggravating for people in the same thread to have their posts lost because someone else comes in and posts fifty times in one day, and if you have a habit of it, can ultimately leave people unhappy to even have your character in the same area as theirs.
Megastones
In light of the poll on megastones, we have edited a small new rule stating that only one mega evolved pokemon may be used when battling against another RPer.
Characters
I know, I know, it's all pretty awesome and fun. It may be tempting to just make all the characters you can to try all the things! However, please keep in mind that this is a pokemon guild, and as such we really try to stick as closely as possible to the anime and games of the pokeverse, which means that all characters in this guild should be human. Please do not make a Gijinka, Humanoid, or Alien as a character to RP. If you would like clarification to see if your idea is acceptable, then feel free to ask a mod, and we would be happy to give you an answer.
On that note, in this guild you may RP out your character's pokemon as if they were NPCs traveling with your character, and are encouraged to give them personalities, quirks, and character traits, however they should not be posted for separately as their own character; their actions should be posted in your main character's posts. The only exception would be in the pokemon Daycare, in which you post and RP as individual pokemon to gain extra exp.
Now, it is canon for some characters to have certain powers, such as aura and psionics, however we would like to dissuade the use of these powers in a character. We will allow minor psychic influences such as telepathy as a reason to speak with pokemon, however we will not allow this to become full blown mind reading. If you would like mind reading to be an RP plot point between a psychic character and another character, you must receive the other RPer's consent. Over time powers can develop, but we ask that nothing be used to alter battling, such as the trainer throwing in an aura sphere to do extra damage to an opponent, or reading minds to predict attacks in battle.
As far as the number of characters you are allowed to have, everyone starts with a one character limit. However, after you've been a part of the guild for a month or two and received two badges or one contest ribbon with your first character, you may ask the mods permission to be allowed a second character. However, please keep in mind that if you have been inactive in the guild, your request can be denied. If you would like to make more than two characters after spending some time with your first two, you may do so, but please try not to bite off more than you can chew, so to speak. If you do find that you've grown bored of a character, or have too many characters than you can keep up with, we do have a system for character reducing.
A Note On Character Reducing: In P:ER, if you ever lose interest in a character but don't want to lose the items and pokemon that you have gained, you do have the option to reduce your character down to their items and pokemon, then distribute those possessions to other characters, or make a new character to replace the old. Post counters will all be reset, FP will be reset for all pokemon, but the EXP counters, Egg Hatch Counters, levels, and items will all be transferable. This may only be done every 6 months and you must notify a mod for approval before reducing a character and distributing their possessions.
NPC Battles
NPCs must now be rolled for to determine the pokemon in the team. You may either have a choice of generating a number from 1-721 for each pokemon on the NPCs team to form a randomized team, or generating the type of pokemon your opponent has using the usual 18 type rolling chart, either for the overall team, or for each pokemon individually. If you generate a legendary, if you would like to roll again, then you may, however generating and battling a legendary this way will also count towards "The Stuff of Legends" achievement if you provide the link. Any questions involving wanting to use re-occuring NPC rivals and similar issues may be taken up with the mods as a case by case basis. We would be happy to discuss options with you.
All of the NPCs pokemon must know at least two attack moves, if they don't have two attacks available at their level, then it is acceptable to give them one, or none if the level is that low. For instance, fighting a Ralts at level 3. Otherwise, the moves these pokemon have must match their level, for instance a level 30 Charmeleon isn't going to have ember and scratch as their primary attack moves, it would have Fire Fang and Dragon Rage. Additionally, please note that if mods notice any abuse to NPC battles, such as the pokemon battled never using their attacks, you will be asked to roll for the attacks of the NPC's Pokemon.
Location Edits
The train in Lilicove has now been moved to Mauvile.
Elite Four:
We currently have some of the Elite Four finished and are currently working on other regions. When they are finished, we will create a new thread in each region containing rules on challenging the Elite Four and information on the Elite Four.
Move/Ability Updates:
The attack and ability list is going through some major changes. We will soon be updating descriptions to either clarify what certain moves and abilities do, or add in effects that were missed, or mis-quoted from the games (such as King's Shield lowering attack by two stages, not one). We will make an announcement when the full update comes to the attack and abilities list. When we do, please check your pokemon's moves to make sure that they are current with the guild's attacks. There are far too many individual updates to list, so we urge you to take it upon yourselves to manage and edit your attacks and abilities if they are changed in the upcoming update, and we apologize for any inconvenience this causes you.
However, while we cannot list all of the attack and ability updates, here are a few major changes that will be taking place:
Counter - Now only works on moves that make contact, and will not include type effectiveness.
Sketch - Can only be learned by Smeargle, Balm Mushrooms will not allow it to be learned. Sketch will not be allowed to copy Legendary Moves, only one sketched move can have a base power higher than 100, the rest must be 100 and below. Otherwise people can copy moves with any method they want.
Healing Moves - Morning Sun, Moonlight, Milk Drink, Recover, Slack Off, Heal Order, Synthesis, Roost, and Heal Pulse now have been limited to a maximum of 5 uses per Battle.
Serene Grace - The chances of a move having a side effect are increased by 1/10 instead of doubling.
Contest Updates
The contest pages have been rewritten and organized to clarify and detail the various levels and stages of contests.
Obedience has also been adjusted to reflect the details added to the system, so that there are less level jumps between stages of obedience.
NPC's have been added and will continue to be added to! Contests are also being expanded beyond Hoenn, though for now, that only includes pvp and p v NPC contests, not including Contest Leader challenges, which are still restricted to the Hoenn region. We will continue adding to the information for Sinnoh, and hopefully soon Kalos, so keep an eye out for that if you're interested! To see these updates and read about the contest system, check out the contest thread, where items, NPC trainers, and other information will first appear as it's added to.
