The Hylarr are a near extinct race of Feline-like people. They were patterned after the different cats of the world, and a peaceful people though their abilities as warriors was legendary, until they were scattered. The Hylarr are long-lived creatures, known to have extreme rage issues and immunity to intoxication.

The Hylarr are very attuned to the world around them, they have a tendency to avoid cities because of the noise and general pollution. Their senses are heightened: sight, sound, smell, and touch. All this generally makes them very reclusive, but also makes them very deadly in a fight.

They will always prefer bladed weapons since modern weapons generally have a scent to them that is overpowering and offensive to the Hylarr. Their heightened senses also make them exceptional trackers and woods-guides.

They will always assist a child or someone that is injured, being unable to walk away from an innocent in pain or distress. This is a weakness in the species that assisted in their near extinction, making them easy to capture and kill with the right bait.

The Hylarr evolved before Humans did and watched the Humans come into being. They helped the early ancestors survive various global disasters where they could until the advent of the Church and its practices of destroying what it didn't understand and therefore feared, much like the witches, Druids, and other pagans.

So the Hylarr went into deep hiding in the various forests of the world and other realms. Among Humans, they have sometimes been mistaken for shape shifters even though they are NOT.

The volcanic eruptions and volcanic winter that followed nearly wiped out their homes and forced them into deeper hiding. They still aided Humans from time to time until the volcanic winter finally faded, thus bringing them under the Church's attention. The Church branded them as unholy beasts and ordered their eradication.

Hylarr Rules:

1. All Hylarr are based off of some species of feline (cat). They can have the fur, claws, tail, and instincts of that particular feline. You can use these links to determine your feline species: Big Cat, Wildcat, Leopardus.

2. All Hylarr are weak against silver. It causes an allergic reaction that acts more like a deadly poison that will slowly kill them. It starts with fever then moves them into unconsciousness and weakness, then finally death. It can take as long as a month to kill them unless the silver is removed from their system, or as short as a week.

3. The Hylarr are creatures of instinct and are more likely to avoid people in general. Keep this one in mind if you decide you want to be one of them.

4. They are trackers, their heightened senses enabling them to track just about anything.

5. They HATE modern weapons. The scent of gun oil makes them sneeze. And they very much dislike to be shot...
