Battling Beasts

Beast Battles are battles between a player and a creature of Tendaji. Beast stats can be found here.

Beast Battle Set Up

Beast battles can take place anywhere in Tendaji where that animal is found.
Please set up your Beast battle thread titles as follows:
[Character Name] vs [Beast] – [Title]
Ex. Antiope vs Radaku - Showdown

If you are having a Group Battle, you may set up your titles in one of two ways:

1) [Simple Title] - [Battle Location]
2) [Characters Names] vs [Beast Names] - [Battle Location]

Please note that no more than 2 characters may battle together at one time.
And when a battle is finished, mark the thread title with FIN as with normal battles.

Only two beast battle threads can be open at one time per character!

Using Beast Battles as Reqs

|| Battlers must have at least half of their battle reqs from battling, and beast tamers must have at least half from beast battling.
|| This means that Beast Tamers must fill at least half of their reqs with Beast Battles.
|| Regular Battlers may not use more than half of their reqs for beast battling.

First Posts

Each character's first post should contain this information:

Character || [who's fighting]
Stage || [insert title]
Battling || [insert enemy(s)]
Battle Stat || [this is your attack/magic BASE stat. No bonuses]
Defense || [enemy's defense stat]
Roll Needed || [range needed to win]
Rolled || [insert roll(s)]
Outcome || [win/lose]
Experience earned || [calculated EXP]

Battling

For a battle to count towards a growth requirement or to earn EXP from them, you must write a 250 word solo fighting the beast and revealing the result in some way.
|| For every beast on the field you must write 250 each, so if you choose to fight 3 radaku, you must write a total of 750 words. This is per person.
|| You cannot write a partial amount for partial exp. (so no writing 250 out of 750 words to get just the winning roll)
|| One character can only open up to two beast battle threads at a time. One of the threads must be completely filled in before another thread can be set up.
|| Threads can no longer be deleted just to discard the results!
|| Threads can contain up to 3 beasts per battle.
|| Threads can only contain one species of beast. (ex: 3 radaku are ok, 1 radaku and 1 nondwa is not allowed)

The dice decide your fate:

Each beast fought in a battle requires their own set of rolls.
|| You must roll 1d100 to fight a beast.
|| Use your attack base stat minus the beast's defense stat to see what you must roll:
1-2: 90-100
3-5: 80-100
6-10: 70-100
11-15: 60-100
16-20: 50-100
21-25: 40-100
26-30: 30-100
31-35: 20-100
36-40: 10-100
41+: 5-100

|| Rolls needed will never dip lower than 5-100.
|| You cannot fight a creature that has a defense stat equal to or higher than your attack stat.
|| Magic users should use their magic base stat (since this is what they use to attack typically)
|| If you manage a winning roll, you win the match! If you don't you lose, but you can still gain EXP.

Battling with Friends

If you are battling with other characters, each player must roll for each beast fought. Only one character has to win against the beast for it to be defeated, and all characters receive EXP.

|| The player who actually defeats it gets full winning EXP.
|| The player(s) who don't defeat it get 75% of the EXP earned from that critter (winning exp! Your friend defeated the beast!).
|| When playing with others, you're odds of winning increase. Roll for the next tier down for each person with you. (ex: Normally you need a 80-100 to win, with 1 friend you would need 70-100, with 2 friends you would need 60-100).
|| Three characters is the maximum allowed in battle.
|| Each player should use their own stats when calculating the roll.
|| Each player must write the requirement for the battle to receive EXP and/or req points. (ex: 2 players are fighting 3 nondwa, players are to write 750 words each, equaling 1500 together)

Beast Taming

All members of Tendaji can capture and tame the available critters of Tendaji, but those who decide to follow the path of a beast tamer hold a greater capacity for taming.

|| The creatures available for taming also have an intelligence stat listed with their name. Those without this stat CANNOT be captured.
|| Beast Charmers are only allowed to tame 2 familiars, Beast Tamers are allowed to tame 2 more (so four total), and Beast Masters are allowed to tame 3 more (so 7 total).
|| All other classes can tame 1 per stage (so by stage 4 it would be 3 total).
|| Beasts tamed can be kept or given, with permission from Suhuba, to friends.
|| Giving away tamed animals will not restore your available limit.
|| You may only attempt to tame one animal per battle regardless of how many are fighting at once.
|| If battling with a friend, one or both can try to tame the beast they were fighting, though both will have to roll individually (there is no bonus for taming with a friend).

How It's Done

When taming a beast of Tendaji, roll 2d100 after battling it and use this form:

Taming || [which one]
Attack Stat || [base + bonus]
Speed Stat || [base + bonus]
Intelligence || [of beast]
Roll 1 Needed || [range]
Roll 2 Needed || [range]
Rolled || [post both rolls]
Outcome || [success or not]

|| You must have successfully defeated the creature in battle.
|| Taming rolls should be completed in a second post after battling.
|| You cannot tame a creature that has an intelligence stat equal to or higher than your attack or speed stats.
|| The 1st d100 is your attack base stat minus the creature's intelligence stat.
|| The 2nd d100 is your speed base stat minus the creature's intelligence stat.
|| || Add your stat bonus to both base stats to adjust your roll numbers! (stat bonus not weapon bonus)
|| Both rolls must be in their required range to successfully tame:
1-5: 80-100
6-10: 70-100
11-15: 60-100
16-20: 50-100
21-25: 40-100
26-30: 30-100
31-35: 20-100
36-40: 10-100
41+: 5-100

|| If both rolls are not adequate, the beast has gotten away.
|| If either of the rolls are a 100, the beast is automatically tamed.
|| After rolls have been determined, you are required to write an additional 200 words RPing the results (required whether you win or lose).
|| Whether you are able to tame it or not, you will receive 15EXP for the attempt.
|| Successful taming should be followed up by a PM to our Beast Battle Mule: BeastTamerFreya with this form:

Species ||
Gender ||
Name ||
Owner || [username of owner, not character name]
URL ||
Description || [what did it look like? you can pick customs colors and markings, but no line edits]

|| Title your PMs with "Tamed"

EXP Calculation

EXP has been calculated and added to this nifty chart! Use the difficulty of the beast and your stage to find the proper EXP to use.

All you have to do is any additional adding or multiplying and then round to a whole number after it's all said and done.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

If you're interested in how we figured it out, we used these formulas:

Winning EXP
( [difficulty ranking] x 3 ) / [current stage] = [EXP earned]

Losing EXP
( [difficulty ranking] x 1 ) / [current stage] = [EXP earned]
