(I just realized how horrible my grammar was when I made the initial post, but that is largely due to the fact I was falling asleep while doing it. I'm alert now and making serious edits along the way. sweatdrop ) In order to mix things up, I am dividing these role-play characters into 6 different archetypes of desert folk. You roll a dice and whatever corresponds with the number is your starting and main character. If you decide you don't like that class you may roll a second time. I may allow a third person or a few more people later in the role if Zimbu and I agree to do so. Hence, for the time being, it's just going to be a 1x1 RP unless this drums up some interest, so pm me if so - eh? 1) Nomad - equipped with bare essentials, riding by camel back selling his or her wares. 2) Gatherer - just that, wanders through the desert, and travels by sea to gather food for his village, also to trade with fellow nomads and other people 3) Shepherd - is one that herds sheep and prone to audio and visual hallucinations claiming it's a higher powers. Also, tends to see (or smoke) the burning bush...a lot. 4) Thief - need I go into great detail? A thief is a thief, cunning, agile, and has a powerful charm toward the opposite sex. 5) Urchin - usually an orphaned child or troubled young adult, begging other classes of men and women just to get by in life. 6) Bedouin Royalty - are typically land and animal owners and do what they can to protect their people, whether or not they are honest. Typical politicians.
This is a chance game, so it's basically starting with everyday life and calamity between the characters. The setting is a post-apocalyptic desert world, similar to a fantasy world modeled after the middle east and Egypt. The two major cities, Orduililokum and Sesat, have some semblances to Alexandria and Sinai, respectively. After this world went crazy - or - rather - after it ran out of fossil fuels, there was total anarchy when the masses chaotically overthrew the governments. People began to revert back to ancient cultural ways, as well as becoming nomadic by nature. Pagan gods were once again fought for, and the ones with the most metals were in power, and did what they could to keep it that way. By this time, the Bedouins had settled into cities, but still kept their traditional garb and culture -- and had the most metal and access to technology. However, they became corrupt and destroyed whatever technology they could, especially when their servants started using their heads and digging up history. Characters so far! {{Generic character layout copied from Miss Anime_Princess9000, I meant to ask but she wasn't on and it's been a moment since I've set up a RP on my own.}} RikusiName: Layla Gender: Female Class: Nomad Likes: Dates, pistachios, exotic jewelry, dresses, and haggling Dislikes: Camel poop, thieves, people she can see straight through with their lies and nonsense Bio: Layla grew up in the desert capital of Sesat to a large Bedouin family. Layla had just set up a small campsite near a village not far from Orduililokum. She had none but her camel, Eid, accompanying her, which, normally would be dangerous for any young woman, but she'd earned a reputation among other nomads NOT to be messed with. She carries one of her father's old scimitars on her belt at her side, but keeps it hidden in her skirts. Feeling a sense of security in the air, she ties her camel down close to her tent, waters and pets him. It is later in the day, but still bright enough to venture into the village for food. Even though she adored pistachios, she was getting sick of them. Tying her hair back into a blue scar like a headband, adjusting the gold and lapis necklace on her neck, then hiding her gold bracelets and earrings in a bag on her belt, and rolling the sleeves of her dress up - she did just that. She inhaled all kinds of different aromas and moseyed through the sea of people. Layla decided to stop in a shop where she smelled something cooking. She spotted the assumed shopkeeper wearing white, with his back turned to the door stirring a hefty-looking pot. "You know, sir, you really ought to keep your eyes on the door. No telling what could happen to you with your back turned."

"Oh really? I'm not much of a fighter, do you plan on robbin' or killin' me?" The man continued his work at his own slow pace, despite making the lady wait. He reached to the side and grabbed a large cleaver, turning towards her and swinging down-
-Beheading a large fish on the counter with a loud, wet, THUNK. In the same motion he turns the blade sideways and splits the fish in half. After pulling the skin and bone, he reaches his hand back and flips the stirring paddle out of the pot and over his shoulder, slapping it against the counter and causing the meat to lift a few inches into the air. He quickly catches it on the paddle and launches it into the pot, sliding the cleaver across and wiping the leftovers into a bin and placing it on a handle above.

"Of course neither, well, I'm no thief but murder is only something I will do if it's deemed necessary." She jumped at the pound of the blade on the counter, while watching him work. "I've been on quite a long journey and I'm out of food, so I just came in to see what you have for trade, or sale, whichever you prefer. Unless you're willing to share whats in the pot with me." She said flashing a coy smile reaching for her belt.

After taking a moment to look her over, he rolls his eyes and turns back around. "Your gold isnt worth anything here. And you for sure dont have anything worth trading. We're a resource town, only trading in things usable now." He dips a large bowl into the pot and wraps it in a leather pouch. He the takes a smaller cup and fills it as well. He sets the sack by her and places the cup in front of her. "No matter where you move, that pouch will keep it in the bowl, and is clean and smooth enough to eat right off of. The cup is for now though. You can have'em both if you help me with the rest after. I had a good catch, so this is for the townsfolk."

Layla's eyes lit up with a flash."Ahh, but gold is worth a lot more if you truly know how to use it! No matter. I have plenty of things to trade, not on me, but they're safe." She reaches in the folds of her dress anyway to pull out a few gold coins and slides it under the counter. "Thank you very much for the soup, I will gladly help you with whatever you wish, so long as you help me." She then ate the soup asking, "What exactly did you want me to do?"

The man slams his hand on the counter and hands her back the gold. "I'd be happy if you keep that hidden. We're under law of having only so much gold in town at a time. So we gain wealth in resource instead. Just help, and that's pay enough. Eat, then go out and gather the townsfolk. Tell them Croi say's it's lunch time." He turned and lifted the pot onto his back, wrapping straps around it.

(rolling for another character to be introduced, then you can opt to unless you want to keep it minimal.) "What kind of person would make such a law? This is yours to keep and conceal, Mister Croi, and do what you please with it!" She clenches the gold pieces, reaches across the counter, and skillfully slips them in his pocket when his back is turned, without laying a finger on his body. "But alright, fine, I'll hang onto it if you want." Layla finishes up the bowl, attaches the sack to her belt, and walks outside. She scans around the area and finds a weathered obsidian statue of Horus to stand beside and gather attention. She climbs up it's shoulders and onto his head, which draws in looks and people stopping to point. She clears her throat and yells, "Croi says it's lunch-time for you lovely folks!"

Small children slowly start to gather around the statue, and adults shortly follow. Croi passes through the small crowd with his pot, and sets it infront of the large god-figure, clanging the side of the dish with his paddle. "Alright everyone, gather 'round. It was a good hunt this time, so here's a treat for you all. Get your bowls and line up." Of course, by line up, he meant Dont kill eachother piling around. As the folks begin gathering their bowls and such, Croi motions for Layla to join him. "Take a spoon and dish the children up."

Layla clambers down the statue and walks up beside Croi. She then takes the spoon Croi hands to her and begins serving the children up, one by one. Two little boys begin fighting over whose turn it is in line. "Dears, no need to fight, there's plenty to go around and you'll each get your turn!" she says cheerfully, hiding her anxiety. "I WAS HERE FIRST!" The older one said shoving the younger out of the way, who fell. A familiar looking woman came up beside the children to break them up. "I told you not to hit your younger brother, Jed!" She separates the boys and pulls her scarf over her to hide from Layla. A gold and ruby bracelet catches the sun and Layla's eye, making her freeze drop the spoon in the pot.
