~OPEN~ Katherine, Katie, sat down in the back of the old arcade watching others play. She wasn't even sure why she was here, she wasn't playing she was just watching right now which was something she really didn't enjoy. She preferred playing to just watching. She just was too excited, she didn't know what to do with herself and this was the best option. She didn't like waiting at home, and this was better than that, so she had paid the three dollar watching fee (five to play) and came to sit in one of the few chairs. She sighed as she glanced at her watch quickly, it was 4:15, still too early to walk over to the new arcade. She still couldn't believe that she had been chosen to participate in the new beta testing of the new arcade. She was a down right horrible player, she had thought that only really grand players ever got to do that. Thinking of the popular players she glanced at the large poster off to the side, where a long list of names were written. Not real names of course, just their players names. She looked down at the bottom of the list, she was just in front of a couple players who didn't show up that often. She ran his fingers through her hair before taking out a band and using it to make a ponytail. It was a low one, she didn't have much hair to work with, and it was just a tiny puff with her bangs hanging over her face. The arcade she was in now wasn't that bad of a one just tiny and old. A large playing screen was in the front so that those who wanted to watch could, but most of the players payed the extra buck to rent the goggles that would help them to see the game in 3-D. They spent another dollar for the crappy headsets, or even brought their own. The controller they used, they paid for in the original fee. Katie blew at her bangs as she glanced around the eight rows of long benches, but couldn't really tell who anyone there was. She recognized their characters, not them. Katie finally stood up, seeing from her watch that it was now 4:35, and pulled out her gamer card for this arcade. She swiped it as she left, letting the owner now she had only watched, and began to walk slowly down the street. As she put away her card, she pulled out the invitation, reading it over again. She couldn't help but think it was just a joke. She ran her finger over the golden print of the card, and the little designs around it before putting it in her pocket and pulling her thin jacket tighter around her. She wasn't good with cold and wished she had worn more than her blue jeans, a black thigh length jacket, and a cream colored long sleeve shirt. She began to fantasize about what game they would play and the technology the new arcade would have as she strolled along.

And that was the end of this world for him. Rathous had died and Sebestian was done playing this game. He glanced at his watch 4:20, a little early but he was done here anyway. He had decided to end his time in this world with a bang. He gave himself three marks and three things to steal. The marks where the top players, the objects where their trophies. The player in third place was easy enough to steal from. He was distracted boasting to other people, and didn’t notice his medal being lifted. But the second player proved too much of a challenge. He was in the middle of town, when Sebestian tried to have Rathous pass by and pull of a slight of hand he got caught. The ending result was a rather long battle that ending in a bloody mess. And thus ended Rathous the thief and his time in that world. As he was returning the head set he noticed the girl again. Katherine. She was just sitting in a chair watching and glancing at the player standing. She may have not been a good player (As the standing shows) but she was still always playing. He wondered why she was watching this time. His curiosity got the better of him and he decided to wait a little while to see what she does. A short while after 4:30 she heading out from the arcade and heading off down town. Then he wondered and pulled his invitation to the new arcade opening up. Could she have been invited too? The only way to find out was to head there himself and see. Besides it was time to be there anyway. So he waited maybe a minute more then followed her.

Katie continued to walk down the street, just thinking and imaging and not at all paying attention to her surroundings. It took her a bit to walk to where the new arcade was and stood in front of it, glancing at her watch again. 4:53, not too bad. There was a small crowd in front of the building, most holding their invitation in their numb hands. The building was long, tall and sleek, with windows littering the front of it. Freshly trimmed grass, and a new walkway made it seem more like a government building than a place to game. She watched as the doors opened and people began to rush inside. Soon enough Katie got caught in the crowd and was lost to all else. The thing about being short was when surrounded by people, you couldn't see anything and you couldn't get out of the damn near mosh pits. She let herself go with the flow until finally they got to a open area and she didn't have to worry anymore about being squished. Suddenly a woman stepped in front of her, asking for her invitation. Katie gave it up instantly and was suddenly being ushered to a room. This room was very small, with what seemed like a dark window on one wall and a very impressive looking suit, helmet, and other things off to the side. While the opening room had been impressive with it's long counters, and kind staff, this room was intimate and longing, just waiting to be played in. The woman kindly asked Katie for her wrist and she held up her right one, watching as a thick metal bracelet was attached. It was explained that this was like a gaming card, it would hold all the data from the arcade and such. "Are you ready to start getting suited up?" The helper asked in a sweet voice. Katie licked her bottom lip, looking at the dark window (TV she realized now), high tech outfit, and bracelet. "Yes. Yes I am."

The walk to the new arcade told Sebestian alot. As he walked he noticed who was missing around town. He noticed who wasn't there when they should have been at this time of day. He had an idea of who was invited now. As he stopped to look around he lost sight of Katherine but that was OK. He got to the new modern building at five to five. There was a surprisingly large crowd for what was supposed to be a beta test. He decided to wait for the frenzied crowd to move along before entering. Once inside a man came up and asked for his invitation. Once he handed it over he followed the man to a smaller private room. His eye's where instantly drawn to the impressive suit hung on the wall. So this was how they would play. This was how he would see his new world. Just as he was about to start trying on the suit the man came over and handed him a bracelet. Sleek and silver. The man explained how this was his gamer card. Once he was done explaining, Sebestian put on the suit. It was surprisingly heavy for how it looked. But not heavy enough to be a burden. He quickly realized that gaming like this might be a work out..... After the gloves and boots where on. He slipped on the helmet and got his first look to a new world.

With the help of the woman, Katie got into the suit. It was silver, a bit heavy, and fit her perfectly. She wondered how, she was rather short and small everywhere but ignored it. She put on the gloves and then the belt before slipping on the helmet and the women pressed start. A rather elaborate opening screen with music came on, before it went all white and a women with wings coming out from on top of either ear (who was sitting on a cloud mind you) appeared in front of her. "Welcome to the game. The first step you will have is choosing your character. What would you like to be?" Katie jumped a bit as a screen appeared to her side, covered with names of creatures. There was typical fantasy races and classes, like dwarf and warrior, but some more odd ones like half cat and such. Katie bit her lip as she thought and finally picked warrior. A suit of armor was suddenly next to the lady and Katie looked over it. "You can now pick wither you want to change your looks." Suddenly what looked to be like Katie, filled the armor. Another option list showed up and Katie didn't really care what she looked like. She looked through it anyway but perked up as she came to height. She added a few inches to her height and squealed happily as she looked at herself. She clicked finished. "You will now be transported to the home base. Have fun gaming." Everything flashed black, then white, and finally she could see where she was. It looked to be an old style town, all wood and such, and a couple people were milling around. A few she could tell were players, while the ones who obviously weren't had a soft glow around themselves. Katie took a curious step forward and then nearly fell over. My goodness, why could she not move very well? She took another step and blushed as she heard a 'Clank, Clang, Clank' as she moved. It was her armor. Why was it so noisy?

The man pressed a button and the game started. After a few flashy opening cinematic, a woman appeared. An angel it seems. All white with feathered wings .
"Welcome to the game. The first step you will have is choosing your character. What would you like to be?"
The list of races and classes showed up. Sebestian decided to play himself for once so he went human. But for the class, lets see he was quite and liked to watch and wait for things. He wanted something stealthy, he liked playing the thief. A rogue it was.
"You can now pick wither you want to change your looks." the lady said softly.
He left the character looking like him. The rogue thought came with a dark dull green cloak, and some rather odd look leather armor. "You will now be transported to the home base. Have fun gaming." After a flash of light he found him self in an old 14th century town. He looked around players and NPC's where milling about. The NPCs seemed to glow softly, the players where left plain. He took log of what he had to start off. His armor, cloak, some knives, a bow and a quiver of arrows. This seemed fine to him and now he thought. What should he do first in this world, fight monsters? Look for dungeons? He had a new world to explore now he had better get started. He decided to walk around town first to see what came up.

She had a sword. Armor, and a sword. That was it? Katie huffed angrily while looking at the sword in her hand. The sad thing now, was this game seemed to relay on her ability at things, not completely the character. She didn't know how to use a damn sword. She slipped her sword back in it's holder, and then walked (clanked) to a shop. She stood outside of it, and drooled at what she saw in the window. She saw a more lightweight armor, and drooled over it. She bet that that was more silent. She looked down at the price and nearly fainted. 800,000 gold? A little box appread next to the price, with the number 3,000. How was she gonna make all that money? She stamped her foot angrily, jumping when someone spoke next to her. "If you don't have money for what you need you can go to the quest board or the pub to accept challenges for money." A NPC said to her, smiling happily. Katie stared at it before smiling back, nodding and quickly walking away. She didn't know why the NPC's now seemed to creep her out so much. She began to search for the quest board.

Sebestian was very intrigued. The game was very impressive. To play it seemed you needed some skill, like knowing how to wield his knife or bow. But as he tried things like running and jumping, he could do thing he wouldn't never be able to do normally. The game used his skills, it just enhanced them a bit. All this occurred to him as he did a back flip off a shop's wall just to see if he could. After trying some more tumbling he decided to wander out of town to see what he could find. Surrounding the town was a very large field. With many farms and cottages spread out. As he walked along a road heading what he thought was east. (he assumed the sun was rising) he saw his first monster. A rat.... "why is it always rats" He said aloud with a sigh. Oh well a monster was a monster so he decided to take it down. He knelt and took out his bow. No point in letting the rat see him. He loaded the bow and readied to fire. He breathed in and let the arrow fly!...... and miss. He was going to need archery practice now it seemed..... The rat, not even noticing the arrow fly by (thought Sebestian did miss by a wide margin.) Started to nibble on some plant by the road. Sebestian Notched another arrow, determined to kill his first beast here with his bow. He was going to be here for quite awhile........
