Quote: "Tails_FoxPrower"A Little Firestarter no. 37 Posted by: A Fearful Cinnabar Citizen Request: Everyone on Cinnabar knows about the old dilapidated mansion that overlooks the sea. Of late, we've been seeing fires sprouting from the basement windows of the place and with the trees around, fire could spread fast. There have been close calls but for some reason, the fire always burns out before burning anything up. But we don't want to take any chances, nor do I think it's safe for normal trainers to go inside lest the whole building fall on them. Please calm whatever Pokemon is doing this. After doing a little research on this problem, other locals have talked about a Vulpix in the fires. Playing around like a happy little chap. But if this goes on too long, the structural integrity of the building could be compromised enough that it could pose a threat to any Pokemon that make their home inside. If you take this hunt on, be prepared for any falling debris, frightened Poison Pokemon and -- in a worst case scenario -- fire blocking the hallways. You'll need to make quick and decisive decisions. If you linger, you're apt to have complications due to smoke inhalation, burns, the works. You have license to catch this Pokemon since it'd be most convenient to the townsfolk. Make sure you make it out of the mansion alive though. Objective: Find the fiery little Vulpix and make it out of the mansion alive. Opposition: You'll find lots of wild Pokemon since the mansion serves as a home for them. As of late, they'll have been restless because of the fire. Location: Cinnabar Island, The old burnt out Pokemon Mansion in the basement. Reward: Aside from the Vulpix, the poster of the request might have something for you. Caleb was walking along, still trying to put on his snag machine, "Oh, come on! There!" He guessed it was on right after there was a click. In the distance he thought he could here a siren, "That's wierd... It seems like it's coming from Cinnabar Island..." He saw a man with a boat at the edge of town, "Sir! Could you please take me to Cinnabar?" The man looked at him and smiled, thinking up of a unjust price, "Ok, that'll be $25." Caleb cocked his head, "Is it really that much?" His eyes slanted down when the boatman nodded, Stupid inflation... he reached into his pockets and pulled out his money, "I''ve only got $23" The boatman pretended to sigh, "It'll have to do." ******************************************************* The boat arrived at Cinnabar, and Caleb hopped out, "Could you stay here a while, please?" Not even checking to see if he nodded, Caleb was off, heading for the mansion. He tugged on the front door, barely opening it, but still enough to squeeze through. As he walked, Caleb noticed many strange things on the wall including some pictures that seemed to stare at him. He hurried along, no longer looking at the pictures. After about 5 minutes of walking, he found a flight of stairs going down into the basement, the heat increasing every step down. Caleb stepped onto the floor, suffocated from the heat, "I've gotta find this pokemon fast... As he walked along, he thought he heard an unusual pokemon call... One not so common... And it stunk, too. His eyes widened, "Grimer!" He saw a couple of the sludge pokemon along the floor. Cale tried to slide along the walls to avoid the gooey pokemon, and succeeded, but as he edged another hallway, his shoe caught fire. He tried to wave the fire out, and not attract the Grimers' attention at the same time. After the fire went out, he peered around the corner, "There's the Vulpix..." He tip-toed out from the corner, not being seen by the cute, yet dangerous pokemon. He tossed out his Totidile's pokeball, but the noise of the pokeball opening made the Vulpix look straight at him, "Well, no need for stealth now! Totidile, use Water Gun!" The Totidile obeyed his trainer, yet used it more than once, also putting out some of the fires, but one imparticular hit the Vulpix right on. Caleb was suprised, "Umm... Good job!" The Totidile spun around after being praised, looking at Caleb, "No! Totidile!" But it was too late, the Vulpix had tackled Caleb's pokemon to the ground, face down. Caleb had an idea, "Totidile use TailWhip!" The pokemon did so, whacking the Vulpix off, "Now! Use Water Gun again!" It was a direct hit, almost completely wiping out the wild pokemon. This was Caleb's chance, "Go pokeball!" the pokeball flew through the air, barely touching the Vulpix before sucking it into it's grasp. The pokeball hit the ground, and started wobbling, Please...Please... Yes! The pokeball made a clicking noise. Vulpix was caught!Caleb ran up through the mansion, forgetting about the Grimer and stepped on the end of one. He looked at his shoe, which was now covered in sludge, "Graah!" He needed to fight this pokemon quickly, "Go, Vulpix!" The newly obtained pokemon sprang out into action, "Use Flamethrower!" The Grimer wasn't very happy at all, but was too busy fighting of the fire that surrounded it, "Now, return!" The Vulpix shot back into the pokeball, allowing Caleb to run. After running back through the mansion, he came back to the entrance, went outside, and shut the door behind him. Caleb looked over to the dock, where the boatman was still waiting, "What took you so long?" ------------------------------------------------------------------- How was the mission? It went pretty well (Except now Caleb has to buy new shoes). The Vulpix was caught which should stop the fires from starting again. Totidile was hit, but it didn't do much... Pokemon used: Totidile and Vulpix.

Quote: A Pain in the Grass. No. 001 Poster: Youngster John “In our small town here, of Pallet, there has been a lone pokemon attacking trainers who have received their first pokemon from Professor Oak. The reason that the pokemon is doing this is...well...I don't know. The pokemon is a Bulbasaur, just...a regular Bulbasaur. I don't care what you do with the pokemon, just take it away so the new trainers aren't beaten when they leave for the first time on their journey. It's obvious that the Bulbasaur is stronger than the pokemon given to the new trainers by Professor Oak, giving it easy wins. Please, find a way to get the Bulbasaur to leave one way or another. Again I say, I don't care what you do with it, just take it away from our town.” Now, this is what is stated on the poster. To make a long story short, there's a Bulbasaur that is attacking the new trainers of Pallet. The poster just wants you to get rid of it. You can do what you want with it, catch it, drive it away, or give it to someone. It doesn't matter to me, just complete the bounty. -Objective: Get the Bulbasaur away from Pallet . -Pokemon: Bulbasaur if you want to catch it, or a pokemon egg may be given on the mission -Rewards: Depends on quality of mission. Caleb jumped off the boat, back from Cinnabar Island, letting his pokemon out to walk around... Just to chill. In less than a second, a vine appeared out of nowhere, wrapped around Swy, and shot back again. Caleb shot his head to where the Totidile was, and yelled, "Oh, come on! I just got back!" Caleb ran to where the vine had come from, and saw a little Bulbasaur, who still had the Totidile captive in a vine conected to the bulb on its back, "Put him down!" Caleb was mad now, but all the Bulbasaur did was mock Caleb in its own language. "That's it! Go, Vulpix!" Caleb forgot that the Vulpix was back at the clearing still when it trotted up beside him, "Use Fire Spin!" The pokemon obeyed and coated the Bulbasaur in fire. It seemed to anger the Bulbasaur, since it whipped Caleb with more vines, still having a tight grasp on Swy. Caleb fell to the ground, holding his knees, "Vulpix, tackle Swy out of Bulbasaur's grasp, then use Ember!" The Vulpix knocked the Totidile to safety, then turned around, and shot fire at Bulbasaur again, extremely weakening it. Caleb got back up Now's my chance! He threw a Great Ball at the Bulbasaur and watched it wobble back and forth. *CLICK* Bulbasaur was caught!Caleb grabbed up the pokeball and went to show Proffesor Oak.

Quote: How Does Your Garden Grow? (No. 192) Poster: Professor George Marcus of the Johto Botanical College in the northwest district of Goldenrod City. Message: How? How, how, how? My name is George Marcus. I'm a professor at the Botanical College in Goldenrod. And I'm never going to be able to sit still if I can't figure this out. The National Park has a new caretaker- she was hired on by the city's mayor a week ago. And she's driving me crazy. Suddenly, the park looks fantastic- every plant there is healthier than it's ever been, and what's so frustrating is that the only workers I ever see are those damnable Sunflora. She has three of them, and they're out there, every day, doing SOMETHING to those plants! I can't tell what it is. They always manage to conceal it from me. No camera can capture it- I've tried. But seeds grow into flowers and saplings in a matter of hours, not weeks or months! This should be impossible, and if I can find out how they do it, it'll be a major breakthrough for botanical science! Please! You must bring me one of her Sunflora, along with any possessions it's carrying while it works! She won't let me near them, but I absolutely have to know! Just don't hurt them too much, or she'll know, and that... would be bad for both of us. I will return them as soon as I'm finished! You have my word upon my honor as a botanist. Summary: A professor at the Johto Botanical College is being driven insane by the mystery of three Sunflora owned by the new caretaker of the National Park. The new caretaker- a rather enigmatic woman named Linda- has made significant improvements to the quality of the plant life, which was spectacular to begin with, and new plants are growing at incredible rates. Her only workers are the Sunflora, and the professor desperately wants to know why- enough to hire you to kidnap one! Maybe another path is appropriate- it's up to you. The only requirement is that you do not harm or damage the Sunflora any more than is absolutely necessary. Opposition: If you choose to kidnap one of the Sunflora, the other two will promptly begin beating down on you. They're strong while united. Be wary of this, and come prepared to run away- no unnecessary damage, remember? Location: Goldenrod City, Johto Botanical College (northeast district), National Park (just north of Goldenrod.) Pokemon: No, you may not actually capture the Sunflora. You might get an egg, if the mission is good enough, but no catchy. Rewards: The Professor has promised a Miracle Seed if you can get him what he needs. After that, rewards vary depending on what you do and how you do it. Caleb was walking along with his new Bulbasaur, happy as could be. But as he was walking along, he noticed an unusual number of flowers along the side of the road, Hmm... That's odd... Just as he took another step, his foot landed on a Sunflora's foot. The Sunflora let out a yelp, and started growing flowers over Caleb's foot so he couldn't move. He pulled his foot out though, just in time to see two more Sunflora come out to attack. He turned around and ran, seeing cacti growing out of the ground around his feet, "These Sunflora are crazy!" As Caleb came to the first building, he ran inside, panting and coughing. A man came up to him, looking a little confused, "What are you doing in my lab?" Caleb looked up, "Plants... Sidewalk... Sunflora... Chase..." The proffesor seemed to understand, and guestured to a seat next to a table, "I'll get you a drink, then you can tell me in detail what happened." The proffesor walked over to a fridge and grabbed soda pop and gave it to Caleb, who gulped it down in about 7 swallows. "Now, what happened?" Caleb, who got off topic often, "Hey, you're the Proffesor George guy, right?" The proffesor nodded, "Yes, but please call me Proffesor Marcus." "Oh, okay, Proffesor Marcus. Well, I was walking along the path with my new Bulbasaur," He pointed to his pokeball, "And then I accidentaly stepped on Sunflora's foot-" "Oh, I see... You ran into one of the three Sunflora?" "Yeah, but then the other two came and while I was running to here, they were trying to kill me by sending up cactuses-" "Cacti," corrected the proffesor. "And then I ran to here- What the?!" As Caleb finished his story, vines broke through the floor, wrapped around his chair, and started pulling him down, "Ack! HELP!!!" Wait... I have pokemon, duh... Go, Schelander!" He threw out his Spinarak, "Use Bug Bite!" Schelander did so and bit all the vines, which froze, then shot back into the ground without Caleb. He stood up, "Schelander, good job." The Spinarak clicked it's teeth together in a happy beat. The proffesor looked a him, "That was a very good technique! I have to ask, what is your name?" "Caleb." "Well, Caleb, would you want to take on a mission and try to capture a Sunflora?" "Sure," He said, reaching for his pokeball. "No, no, no... I need you to catch it with your bare hands." Caleb eyes widened, "Really?!" The proffesor nodded, "Okay..." Caleb started to walk out, but Proffesor Marcus stopped him. "Wait, take this," He handed Caleb some weed spray, "It'll repel any more roots the Sunflora shoot at you." "Thanks!" Caleb said running out of the lab. But right when he stepped out, a root sprouted out of the ground, but he sprayed it, and it immediately wilted. He continued running on. Caleb almost ran into the Sunflora again, which remembered his face and started to become angry again, "Go, Schelander!" After he saw the Spinarak come out, "Use Stun Spore!" The spores poofed against the Sunflora, paralyzing it, allowing Caleb to grab it. He grabbed it and ran to the lab, avoiding the remaining obstacles. He skidded to a stop inside the lab, "Here you go, proffesor Marcus!" He handed the pokemon to him, "How'd I do? ((I'm really sry it's so short, I spent too long typing and it wouldn't let me post... Seriously, this is about half the length of it before... In summary of the other 10 paragraphs: Caleb runs with the Sunflora, gets dragged back at the lab's door, then Spinarak comes along and saves the day...))

Quote: Bad Luck No. 133 Posted By: Annoyed Bystander of New Bark Town Request: Apparently there is this Pokemon that is a bad omen to the alleged quiet suburbs of New Bark Town. It is said that Absols are known to forsee major disasters, but apparently there is a Pokemon that causes it, or so it seems. An Eevee, cute and eager as can be, roams these streets. Its a stray unfortunately...rather it was that way at birth or was abandoned is unknown. What is known is that it tends to plunder trash cans, looking for whatever edible leftovers it can find. However, in doing so, it makes quite the mess, and when confronted by the angry locals about it, or when confronted by a Pokemon trainer out to capture it since after all, Eevees tend to be a rarity, disaster usually follows, anywhere between injuries, building collapses, traffic accidents, the works. Because of which, people call that Eevee a walking bad luck charm. Sure it may seem like a string of coincidences, but others are rather skeptic of that. This is where you come in. You are out to get this Eevee by any means necessary. You have the license to capture this Eevee, and keep it for yourself if you want. However, in doing so, PLEASE don't cause any more damage than what was done, at least TRY to. Take note though, also, that the Eevee, when confronted, will be very eager by nature to get away, and is rather reckless in doing so, which is maybe why so many disasters happen. Who knows. Just please try to restore peace to the area, ok? Objective ---Find and subdue the Eevee causing chaos in New Bark Town Opposition ---Other than the Eevee itself? There are probably other Pokemon that roams the city. Meowths, Granbull, and various city dwelling birds. Who knows, bad luck may be upon you too... Location ---New Bark Town suburbs, generally located on the Southeastern part close towards the waterway heading towards the Kanto Boarder. Reward ---Aside from the Eevee, the poster may have something for you... Caleb walked along the path with his new egg. The carefully switched it between hands inspecting every inch of it. He had come to see New Bark Town, because he had heard of an Eevee causing trouble, so he came to check it out. While he walked along, he didn't notice a Granbull in front of him, and kicked it in the back. The Granbull turned around and let out a low growl before charging Caleb. Caleb tried to dodge it, but was too slow and was hurled to the ground, landing on a rock, which knocked the air out of him. He got up, holding his stomach, "Go, Totodile." He let the pokeball fall from his pocket, not really throwing it, but he knew it worked when Swy popped out of his pokeball, happy as always, "Use Bite!" The pokemon did so, but barely did anything, Crud, it's dark type!Caleb, who was still holding his stomach, commanded Swy to use Water Gun, which he did, almost wiping out the other pokemon, but before he could throw a pokeball at it, the Eevee hopped up in the middle of the battle and knocked away the thrown pokeball. Caleb stomped the ground, "Where'd you come from?!" The Eevee just wagged its tail and kicked dirt into Caleb's face. He covered his eyes in time, but couldn't avoid getting some in his mouth. He spat again and again, but when he looked up, both pokemon were gone. He looked over and saw the Granbull fleeing, "Oh no, you don't!" He ran after the Granbull, closing the distance between them, but when he dove for the pokemon, it made a sprint and kicked a claw into his face, scratching across the skin next to Caleb's eye. Caleb got up, held back a swear and cradled his eye, "Gosh D-Dang it!" He was really angry now, and tossed out all his pokemon, "GO GET THAT GRANBULL!" The pokemon ran after the pokemon, but Bulbasaur shot a vine after the dog-like pokemon, grabbing it hostage, as it had done to Swy when it was wild. Caleb called back his pokemon back, "Swy, use Water Gun! Vulpix, use Flamethrower! Bulbasaur, use Absorb!" Caleb was ticked off at this pokemon. After seeing it go limp from fainting, he ordered Bulbasaur to let it down, If only I could catch it...************************************************************* Caleb walked into the nearby city. He looked around and saw trash cans spilled and trash all over the street. Wow... Did one Eevee really do all this? He walked along and saw the Eevee digging in a garbage can. He tip-toed over to it and sent out his Vulpix, hushing it before it made a sound, but when he looked back up, the Eevee was gone. He stomped his foot, "Gosh dang it!" He saw the Eevee fleeing behind him. He didn't bother returning the Vulpix, "Go, Swy! Go, Bulbasaur!" He waited for the pokemon to come out, "Bulbasaur, grab the Vulpix!" The Bulbasaur shot a vine after Eevee and grabbed it. The bulb pokemon brought it back. Caleb looked for Swy, and saw him running, "Swy, use Water Gun!" He looked back up to see the helpless Eevee, but it wasn't that helpless. In fact, it was running away from them. He yelled out loud, "Bulbasaur, catch it again, but use more vines! And tighten your grip on it!" Bulbasaur did so, bringing the Eevee back, "Swy, use Water Gun again!" This time the attack hit, but right after it, the Eevee scratched away the vines, and ran. Caleb finally gave up. Wait! Maybe I can occupy it with something... Caleb ran off to the local PokeMart. ************************************************************* Caleb walked out of the PokeMart, confident with his plan. He set down something on the ground, and went to hide behind a building. Before long, the Eevee was back. It went to the item on the ground, and started to sniff it. It was a pokedoll, but not any pokedoll...It had a stitch in it. The Eevee poked the doll with its nose, and suddenly, it disappeared, and the pokedoll started to wobble. After a while, there was a muffled click. Caleb ran over, and stuck his hand into the stitch and pulled out a pokeball. It had worked! The Eevee was caught!
