As Lykas looked on at the increasingly massive shape beneath the waves, a much smaller Pokemon jumped from the sea at him. "Whoa!" he cried as the Kingdra just barely missed him. The Dragon turned back around and fired an Octazooka at him, hoping to snipe him from his place on the wind board. "Not by a long shot!" Lykas shouted in protest, quickly drawing Windsong from it's scabbard, where it had been returned shortly after his bout with Wendy. Striking in a vertical slash, he struck the orb-like blast of water and ink. It somehow managed to keep it's shape but Windsong's blade bent painfully far before it snapped back and shot the attack back at Kingdra.
The Dragon type dodged as it's own attack was sent back at it. It prepared to blow the human into the sea with a Hydro Pump when it heard a gurgling cry and suddenly looked extremely fearful. "Dra!" it cried as it dove back into the water and swam away as quickly as it was able to.
"What was that about?" Anna questioned as she looked around.
"That!" Lancer replied as he felt his board lift off the water and keep going. Anna soon found herself in the same predicament, as did Lykas.
Turning their heads to look, all three realized what was happening. "We're gonna get eaten by a Wailord!" Lykas cried as the monstrous Pokemon emerged fully, it's gigantic mouth opened wide as it sucked in anything in front of it.
"I hope it's got enough energy for this." Lancer called as he threw a Pokeball, sending out Lanturn again. The previously fainted Pokemon seemed to have recovered enough to swim. "Try and hit it with a Thunder if you have the energy!" he ordered hurriedly. Lanturn looked and saw the gynormous creature attempting to eat them all and it's lure shined brightly as a flash of lightning lit the sky.
The ensuing flash might have been visible from the mainland as the Wailord lit up like a Christmas tree. Lanturn had managed a Thunder, slamming many bolts of lightning into the creature's blowhole all at once. "Thanks Lanturn, come back and rest some more." Lancer said as he recalled the extremely weak and panting Pokemon.
Seeing that Lanturn had recovered Lykas opened Mykel's Pokeball and released the Ralts from it's confines. "Are you ok, Mykel?" he asked the Psychic type. Mykel nodded, strong enough to be out, but not really able to say much at the moment. "Do you think you can Teleport us all back to The Academy?" Lykas asked as he tried to keep his wind board moving towards the South. Mykel shrugged, but began to concentrate anyway, determined to at least try. No good yet. "Get...closer..." he whispered to Lykas as he pointed to the others. He nodded and turned his wind board to go back to them.

"What's wrong?" Anna asked when the boy got to her.
"Just jump on my board. I think I can get us back, fast." Lykas told her as he circled her board. Unable to stop, he simply stuck as close to her as he could, making it easier for her to jump from her board to his. Once the woman was on, jumping from her board to his and nearly being blown away in the process, he carved his way through the storm to Lancer. "Get on!" he called to the other teen.
"I can't! I need both hands to balance when I jump, and I've got Mare." Lancer explained as Lykas circled him. "Pass him over!" the youngest boy called back as he held out an arm. He had Mykel tucked into his shirt where he'd be safe, at the moment at least. Lancer looked apprehensive for a moment but he held out his arm, Mare crawling along it to his hand, where the Phione held tight for a moment. Lykas and Anna circled once more and the young teen grabbed Mare as he went by, tucking the Water type into his shirt beside Mykel.
"Now jump!" he called back to Lancer, who nodded and waited for the boy to get close enough. As soon as he got a chance, he took it and jumped off his board, thinking for a brief moment that he was a suicidal idiot. When he feet landed on something solid, he thought he'd simply killed himself at first, though he had his eyes clenched tightly shut. Opening them, he found that either he'd landed successfully, or Lykas had simply managed to catch him. Either way, he was alive.
"Let's go, Mykel. Teleport us back if you can!" Lykas urged as he caught sight of a large bolt of lightning coming at them extremely quickly. Mykel closed his eyes and was just barely able to get all five of them caught in his mental embrace. The lightning struck the sea where they drifted and the water crackled, leaving a burning wind board behind in crackling water.

Back at The Academy, three humans and two Pokemon lay on the floor of the training room. "Are we still alive?" Lancer asked as he tried to look around.
"I think so..." Anna replied as she rolled over onto her stomach and climbed to her hands and knees. "I'll see if I can find the Lady." she said as she attempted to climb to her feet. She was extremely wobbly, but she managed to get on her feet and walk, albeit very slowly.
"I don't feel so hot..." Lykas groaned as he felt a warm, wet sensation spreading across his back. How long had he been bleeding now? Why hadn't he felt it? Those questions ran through his mind as he forced his body to work through the immense pain that suddenly coursed through him again. He pulled a small bottle of pills from his pocket and forced himself to swallow one of them. Miraculously, they had remained dry and undamaged.
"I'm tired..." Lancer moaned as he lay on the floor. He didn't have the energy to move at all.
"Me...me too...." Lykas replied softly, his eyes drifted closed as the world went dark and silent. He was too tired, too deeply asleep to notice Mare crawl out of his shirt and begin to cheer and play on his stomach.

Lykas slowly opened his eyes, the lids fluttering open to reveal his lilac hues. "You're alive after all, huh?" came a familiar voice off to his left. Weakly turning his head, he saw the doctor that worked at The Academy. "I'm surprised you didn't die on us." the man said as he looked the boy over. "I suppose Aegis saved your hide after all." he remarked as Lykas looked at him strangely.
"What do you mean?" he asked, his throat scratching as he spoke, as if he had swallowed sand paper. He hadn't felt any different through the entire course of that arduous journey. "I don't feel any different than normal, except like I'm a zombie." he admitted as he coughed.
The Doctor handed the boy a glass of cool water as he began to speak again. "Well, I doubt you'd have felt anything really. It really only weakens incoming blows and makes you harder to spot once it becomes active. It's likely why you're still alive after that wound on your back, though." he admitted. "I wouldn't have found you, or Lancer for that matter, had it not been for Anna finding Lady Clemence and I." he explained. "But you've been asleep for 6 days, nearly a week now so you must've fought rather hard on that trip of yours." he said with a small laugh.
"You have no idea." Lykas replied before he took a long drink of the cold, refreshing water he'd been handed. That didn't really seem to make much sense to him, but he could understand that he was lucky to still be alive. If Aegis had been activated and he could still feel all those attacks, all that power, he couldn't imagine how powerful they could've been without it protecting him.

Lykas heard a door open behind him and slowly turned his head to look. He could see Lady Clemence standing there, looking at him as if she had never been prouder of someone. "Accohding to youh team mates, you vehe phenomenal in the Ocean of Dagon." she said very calmly.
"Where's my Ralts?" Lykas asked, finally having the chance to worry about Mykel.
"He vill be fine. He vas vehy tihed vhen ve found you both, but he is hecovehing quickly." Lady Clemence replied. "I am vehy phoud of you both. You vehe able to hethieve the Aegih's Sapphihe and suhvive the Guahdian's onslaught." she told him as she walked to his bedside.
"Huh?" Lykas asked as he looked up at her. "You mean...I actually did get it?" he asked. "I thought I was imagining things when I felt it in my hand, out there." he admitted. He'd been too caught up in the middle of the battle to worry about whether or not he had been imagining it then.
"Yes, you obtained the Sapphihe." Lady Clemence verified with a smile. "I have alheady fohged it into youh swohd, foh you. I have been vaiting for you to awaken so you could heclaim it." she told the boy with a smile.
"I think I can walk now..." Lykas replied, wondering for a moment how Lady Clemence had gotten the Sapphire from him. "Uhm...where...where did you find the Sapphire?" he asked her after a moment, sitting up very slowly and trying to keep himself balanced as he climbed to his feet.
The doctor spoke up again at that moment. "That would be me. I found it in your pants pocket when I was checking you over." he explained. "I gave it to the Lady when she came to check on you."
"If you vould like to heclaim youh swohd, Lykas, please come vith me." Lady Clemence told the boy as she opened the door she'd come through and waited patiently.

Lykas managed to keep himself standing, though he blushed slightly at finding himself in his skivvies. "Emhmph!" the Doctor cleared his throat and handed Lykas his pants back.
"Eheh..." the boy chuckled, slightly embarrassed, as he pulled the white jeans on. He winced slightly, finding that his body greatly protested moving after he'd been in bed for six days. "I'm coming, Lady Clemence." he said as he carefully hobbled after her, forcing his legs to keep moving.
"Take youh time. Ve don't vant you huhting youhself any vohse." the Lady replied with a small smile. This boy really was something else. As Lykas managed to get to her, his body seeming to be more willing to work with him now, she slowly led him to a room not far from the doctor's lab.
"This is my office. I have kept youh swohd hehe foh safekeeping." she said as she walked over to the far wall and took Windsong from a shelf hanging there. It rested, delicately, on a crimson cushion as she carried it over to him. "Simply take it in youh hand and it vill take the fohm most suitable to you." she said as Lykas looked at it.
It had a deep, midnight blue gem embedded in the bell of the guard. "That's all there is to it?" he asked, just to make sure. Lady Clemence nodded and he slowly reached out, gently gripping the handle in his right hand and lifting it from the pillow.

Lykas watched as light like Midnight erupted from the sword. A white glow, like that of a Pokemon's Evolution, engulfed the blade and he watched, unable to released it and it appeared to cave in on itself at first. The sword became a ball of white light that shined with an almost black, midnight blue light, then it seemed to erupt outward, taking on a new shape. It ebbed back, then flowed outward, as if in tides, for a moment before it settled on a shape. It looked like an overlarge, kite shield shaped buckler with three wave shaped katar blades emerging from the rounded end, just past his fist. It was just over elbow length from his fist and nearly a foot long past it. Roughly four feet in length with wave patterns all over it and colored like the sea, deep blue and sea foam white. A midnight blue gem was embedded in the center of the shield, as if it were the object's heart.
"Hm?" Lykas questioned as he heard a familiar voice. A soft whispering in his mind. It was that same female voice from his first mission. Will you follow me? Will you learn to use me? it asked. Are you going to use the power I can give you to fulfill your dreams? To achieve you goals? it continued. Will you remain the Guard you have become? Make the blood pact and retain your humanity for the power you seek. it urged.
"What is this?" he asked aloud as he listened. Of course I'm going to remain a Guard. I want to protect my friends too much to give up now. I have too much riding on my abilities. he thought to himself.
The pact has been made! the voice returned, stronger this time. You and I have much to discuss. Be patient and you will learn all there is for you. it finished as it faded away.

Lady Clemence watched Windsong transform into the shield and smiled at it. "It appears youh Vindsong has become a Seavehse." she remarked at the shield's appearance. "Conghatulations." she said as she walked over to the boy and gently laid a hand on his shoulder. "You have made the fihst gheat step in a long jouhney. I hope to see you hehe to take the hest of them." she said with a strong smile.
"You can count on it." Lykas replied. "Can...can I go see Anna and Lancer before I leave?" he asked after a moment.
"Of couhse. I believe they have been vaiting for you to awaken as much as I have." Lady Clemence laughed as she led the weakened boy to a recovery room beside the doctor's lab, where he'd been.
Lancer and Anna were laid out on beds there. Mykel was actually curled up on another one, seemingly uncomfortable in the very large, very empty sleeping area. He was so used to sleeping on Lykas' chest that it felt unnatural to him.
"Hey guys." Lykas waved to his team mates as he walked over to them.
"Lykas!" Lancer cried as he spotted the younger teen.
"You're awake!" Anna added as she looked over at him. Lykas placed a finger in front of his mouth to "sshhhh" the two of them, pointing to the sleeping Mykel.
"Ya, I'm finally awake. Can't believe I slept as long as they say I did, though." he admitted as he sat on the bed next to his Ralts.

"Yeah. Six days if I've been counting right." Lancer replied with a smirk. "You lazy bum." he jibed, grinning giddily though.
"Believe it or not, Lykas, we were going to try and help you get the Sapphire, but I guess you didn't need our help after all." Anna said after a moment. She looked a bit sheepish as she scratched the back of her neck.
"I'd rather you hadn't done that, which I guess you didn't, but I think it was an accident anyway." Lykas told them with a reprimanding look. "That Terk chick and her Dragonite attacked me, carrying me into the air. I guess they were trying to get me high enough to feed me to the Gem's Guardian." he wondered aloud, pausing for a moment to consider it. "Anyway, they were carrying me through the air when the Guardian used that Blizzard attack and Terk's Dragonite threw me into the air when it got hit. When I was falling through the storm, I got blown close enough to the Sapphire to grab it as I passed." he explained. He was having to fight to remember all the details now. He'd have thought something like that would be impossible to forget, but apparently a week of sleeping can do that.
"I honestly wasn't sure if I had actually caught it or not until Lady Clemence told me she'd forged it into Windsong for me earlier." he admitted with a sigh.
"So that's why it disappeared in the middle of that attack. You grabbing it must've made the light disappear from our view." Anna remarked after the explanation was over.
"I guess." Lykas replied.
"Congrats anyway, man. You deserved to pass this." Lancer replied.
"Uhm...guys...was I using Aegis out there?" he asked after a moment.
Anna nodded. "Yeah, it activated right after that Extrasensory." she told him. "Couldn't you tell?" she asked.
"Not really. But how did you guys figure out where I was if it was active?" he asked.
"We could see all the junk you were moving around. You might not have been completely visible, but when stuff moves around on it's own, there's usually something you don't see moving it." Lancer replied with a smirk.
"I see." Lykas replied, feeling Mykel awakening at last as the Ralts shifted in his sleep before he fully awakened, sitting up and stretching out.
"I should be getting home now. I'm sure my friends are getting worried about me, as long as I've been gone." he said as he stood up. Mykel noticed him and jumped straight into his open arms.
"Bye Lykas!" the other two fencers declared, waving him off as he nodded to Mykel. The Ralts nodded back and the two were gone in a flash, Teleported back to HQ.

-Mission Report- Excellent Lykas, very impressive. I'm actually amazed you lived through the trials of the dagon sea. Not many people have been through those waters, both ways, and actually lived to tell the tale. Not only that but you had to fight off a Lugia, how did you do it? I'm astonished to say the least. Very good job though, you pass! How does it feel my friend to now officially be one of the Guards? Feel stronger yet? The spirit of your shield will aid you greatly in providing wisdom and power as you advance down the Guard line. You've come far, but really you've just begun your true quest. Good luck in all that you do. For passing you receive: ---The passive ability " Aegir's Charge". (See skills) ---2x Lure Balls ---1x Brightpowder ---2x Ganlon Berries ---2,000 Gaia gold ---The title of "Guard"
