Swordsman Class Mission
The Way of Sword
So you wish to master the art of weilding a sword? A very dangerous and beautiful art is it indeed. Only few actually master the sword, while many die by it. Many weild a sword, all for different reasons, some to protect their home and loved ones, others for purely evil purposes and destruction, which path you take is up to you and you alone. Be as it all may though, it is time for you to embark on your quest to master the way of the sword, and earn the title of Swordsman. Let use now begin with your journey.
You are probably excited about mastering the way of the sword and want to jump in head first, but you must start out small, baby steps. The first step on your path to learning the ways of the sword, is to find yourself a master, someone who can teach you the basics of the sword. Luckily for you there are several Master Swordsmen out there, all with their own special styles, that gladly take in new pupils. I will now tell you about each of them and what they specialize in.
Sir Gavan the Honorable: Sir Gavan is a mighty knight, Gallade capable of human-speech actually, funny huh? Dressed in a armor and weilding a sword and shield, as do his students. Sir Gaven specializes in medieval combat, meaning arming sword and buckler combat. He teaches his students a balanced style of attacking and defending, though their method may seem slower compared to others. This man is very honorable and teaches morales to his students among swordsmenship. His school, or castle rather, is located deep within the Lunar Range, the mountain range North of Kanto. (Swords of Specialty: Single-handed swords, such as Gladius, and Spatha)
Master Tatsuya the Swift: Master Tatsuya, another hybrid swordsman, a Scyther hybrid actually. Reowned for his swift style of combat. He is feared by his foes due to his speed and skill with a sword. He dresses in very light clothing and weilds a slim light sword. Due to his speed style of combat he, just like his students, does not carry a shield nor armor. He teaches his students a speedy style of combat, focusing on attacking your foe and taking them out as quick as possible to avoid being hit. His asian-style school is tucked away deep within the Vein Forest of Almia region. (Swords of Specialty: Light Single-handed swords, such as Wakizashi, and Katana)
Lord Gandalfr the Beserker: Lord Gandalfr, a fierce Rhyperior hybrid. This man goes by many nicknames, each describing how gruesome and cruel he is in battle. Dressed in a coat of Mightyena skin and carrying a massive Greatsword, this man's pure strength is surpassed by none of the other teachers. His style of swordsmanship, which he teaches to his students, is based purely on attacking and utterly destroying your opponent at all costs, because of this the only thing of importance is your sword, a very big and powerful one at that. His savage school is located within the winding caverns of Stark Mountain. (Swords of Specialty: Massive Two-Handed swords, such as Claymore, and Longsword)
Lady Clemence the Stalwart: Lady Clemence, an elegant woman of very high standing and upbringing. She is none for the elegant flow of her defensive and parrying style of swordsmenship, not unlike that of fencing. Sporting light and flexible armor and weilding a light Rapier, Lady Clemence deflects and guards all attacks thrown at her, few have lain their sword upon her. Her style, which is passed onto her students is purely defensive, deflecting all blows as you wait for the perfect moment to strike down your foe. Her beautiful academy is located within the high class part of Crimson City, of the Prism region. (Swords of Specialty: Light Single-handed swords, such as Estoc and Messer)
Once you have chosen the master you wish to learn from, seek out their location and ask them if you may train under them as their pupil. They may require you to perform some sort of task before they take you under their wing, what those tasks may be I'm not sure. If and when they do decide to teach you their way of the sword, you must stay there at the school and go through their basic training course. You will learn the very basics of their style of swordsmenship. Once they feel you have covered and mastered the basics of whatever style they teach, your teacher will allow you to take a sword from their stock and call it your own. Though the sword must be of their style. Also, the teachers are well-known for having their student study alongside their most faithful Pokemon. Trainer and Pokemon must both work together to accomplish their tasks. So choose your most faithful Pokemon, only that one is allowed with her on this mission. Once you have passed the basic course, report back to HQ with your new blade as proof.
Objectives: ---Seek out the master Swordsman you wish to learn from. ---Convince the master of your choosing to take you in as their pupil. ---Complete their basic course and return with your new sword as proof.
Opposition: ---Any Pokemon you may come across on your journey to the master's school. ---Any Pokemon or person your master may ask of you to face. Not themselves.
Obtainable Pokemon: ---None
Reward: ---Class title of "Swordsman". ---The rest varies Participant: Kit

Kit looked up from the piece of paper he had in his hand. He looked toward Ryu, and shrugged. He was just reading an announcement that came in the Snagem mail for him. He had been searching for a master to train under and now he had four to choose from.
"So, Ryu...What do you think?" Kit asked his faithful companion. Ryu nodded and walked away, trying to figure out what he should do to help Kit out.
"Hmmm..."Kit thought as he stared at the paper again. He already knew who he would choose to train him. Of course, he would ask Master Tatsuya to help him learn the way of the katana. With that, he could work his speed up to cut down any foe. The only problem...How was he going to get to Vein Forest?

Ryu came back, nudging Kit in the leg. Kit looked down and Ryu ran off. Kit chased him, his pokemon wanted to show him something. He chased him outside the base and down a beaten path. They ran through some thick trees and the path abruptly ended. They came to a stop. A statue stood at the end of the path. It was of an Abra, sitting cross-legged with its eyes closed o a pedestal. There was a plaque underneath the Abra. It read:
Speak thy name, mighty warrior!, Venture forth into the unknown to obtain which you seek. Whether it be speed, strength, honor, or elegance, thy shall find it on thy start.
Kit looked at this, and then back at his pokemon. This was a strange relic and he didn't understand how Ryu found it so fast. Maybe there was more to his pokemon than he thought.
Kit looked closer at the relic. There seemed to be some mystiqueness to it.
"Speak thy name? Hmmm...okay." Kit said. "Kit Yorosuke." Almost as soon as these words left his lips the statue's eyes opened. It's eyes glowed red and it stood up. Lifting one hand it snapped its fingers, there was a flash of greenish light, and Kit and Ryu were gone.

Kit hit the ground, hard. Ryu landed on his back and bounced off.
"Ow..."Kit mumbled as he picked himself off the ground. He looked around. They were standing outside of an Asian-style dojo in the middle of a forest. Ryu sniffed and walked up to the door. Kit steadily followed. Was this Master Tatsuya's dojo? Kit walked in and noticed the floor inside was slightly raised from the ground out. Kit, almost stepping up, paused as he noticed a pair of slippers sitting next to the entrance. He slapped his forehead.
"Duh!" he said as he sat down and took off his shoes. He slipped the slippers on and walked inside.

Kit walked forward, Ryu scouted ahead, sniffing the air. He looked around and noticed the place was relatively empty. The dojo rang with silence. Kit peeked around the corner as he came to the end of the hallway. He tiptoed around the corner and heard a slight click. Kit dropped to the floor as two logs flew from either side of him, smashing together. Kit crawled away from the two logs and walked further down the hallway.
The floor gave way as Kit and Ryu leaped across a pit. He wiped his hand on his forehead and continued down the hallway. He noticed the end of the hallway at this point. There was an opening leading to a big main room. Kit nodded to Ryu as they started to run. As soon as they started walls began to jut out from the sides, trying to block there path as a door began to close at the end of the hallway. Kit dodged, ducked, weaved, and vaulted over the walls as he made his way to the door. He jumped over the last one as he slid underneath the door, and pulled Ryu through, just as it closed.
Kit made it into the main room, to where he heard clapping, and as he looked he saw a scyther-hybrid clapping its scythes in his arrival.

"Master Tatsuya?" Kit asked as he walked toward the scyther-hybrid. It nodded in response and bowed.
"Ohayo, good morning. What brings you here, to my dojo, this fine day?" He asked, already knowing the answer. kit bowed in return, remembering hisd manners.
"Yes, well, I was looking over these specializations and I would be honored if you taught me what you know in katana swordsmanship" Kit replied. He stood, in respect, as Ryu sat next to his master.
"Yes, I see...and you've brought along your companion...good. Well, I do not see why not, as you have already passed my first test already," Tatsuya explained. Kit looked at him puzzled. "You dodged every trap I threw at you when you arrived. Now, you are a little slow, but I'll shape you up. And don't get cocky, I still have two more tests before you can fully study under me as my pupil."
Kit nodded, he looked at Ryu and smiled. Ryu looked back, happiness shone in his eyes for he was happy when his master was.

Tatsuya gestured for Kit to follow him. Kit nodded and walked the way Master Tatsuya went. They walked into a hallway, and then suddenly were not in the dojo anymore. They appeared to be in a big city, cars roaring down the road in front of them.
"What the-" Kit began as Master Tatsuya motioned for him to quiet down.
"Peace, you must keep quiet for we are not meddling with the affairs of these people right now." Tatsuya told him. An abra-hybrid appeared from the side of the rode.
"Ahh, Monasu, I shall introduce you to my new hopeful pupil" He waved his scythe over toward Kit, who stood there, watching nervously. "Monasu was my best student. He will be helping me test your skills. Now, Monasu, did you do as I asked?"
"I did, sensei, I masked his visibility from others and made him intangible." Monasu said. He looked over at Kit. "Although I still say he should do the test the way I did it..."
"No, Monasu, we are not sending a stampede of Rapidash at him...those were old times." Tatsuya said. Kit raised his eyebrows. They did WHAT?
"Now, Kit, this is your task. You must cross the traffic, these cars are going at about...eh...I believe it would be 60 miles per hour by America's standards....If you get hit by a car you get teleported back here and have to start over...Once you reach the other side, there is a bamboo sword...Grab that and you will teleport back to the dojo...Good Luck." Tatsuya stated, with these words him and Monasu disappeared.
Kit looked at ryu and raised his eyebrows.
"I think we may have gotten ourselves into more than we can handle..."

Kit looked across, and saw the bamboo sword lying on the sidewalk. He nodded and looked down at Ryu.
"You ready?" Kit asked his pokemon. Ryu nodded and readied himself. Kit nodded back. He kneeled down, ready to sprint across.
"Ready?....GO!" He let loose, sprinting across the road. He made it halfway, and then a blue minivan came out of nowhere and went through him. Kit and Ryu disappeared in a flash and appeared back where they started. Kit shook his head as they started to try again.
"Ok, one more time."

Kit walked away, thinking how he should approach this.
"Hmmm...do i only get teleported if I am hit by the front of the car?" Kit wondered to himself. As the next car came by he stuck his arm out, to touch the side. It was solid, but nothing happened. Kit nodded, he had a plan.
He picked Ryu up and sat him in his pack, head and forelegs sticking out, like a baby carrier. he put it back on his back and got ready, kneeling down, waiting for the right moment.

Kit waited, patiently plotting the speed and patterns hat the cars moved in. ryu nudged him on the back of the neck, encouraging him on. Kit started, running toward the street with all of his leg strength carrying him. He started into the street, getting almost a quarter of the way before a red SUV came at him. He dodged, jumping out of the way as a yellow sportscar drove at him. He slowed down, just a bit, and as it went by him pressed a hand to its roof, and flipped over. Another car came at him. Kit jumped up and ran along the cars hood, jumping to the other side of the road. He landed, rolling on the pavement and landing, laying down, looking at the sky...

Kit sat up, and looked around. Ryu had rolled out of his bag when he landed and was a couple of feet away, looking seriously at his trainer.
"Hold on a sec...Let me catch my breath...Okay, let's go" Kit said as he stood up. he walked over to the bamboo sword and grabbed it, and was instantly transported to the dojo where Master Tatsuya and Monasu were waiting.
"Good, I see that you have completed the second task, well done...And might I add...You have some impressive agility for one your age," Tatsuya said, nodding his head in approval. "Now, you have yet to complete my test. this is your last task. Use that sword to try and strike Monasu, and be warned he will strike back. If you managed to land a blow before he hits you three times, i will accept you as my student."
Kit looked at Monasu, who was over in the corner, choosing his own bamboo sword. His soon-to-be master was expecting him to take on a pokemon hybrid as a human? Kit nodded he knew the final test was not going to be easy he might as well not give up.

Kit stood at a ready stance, holding the bamboo sword in reverse style, his thumb at the bottom of the sword rather than front and holding it behind his back. Monasu took the two handed stance, holding the sword in front of his face, with his feet spread, one in front, one in back.
"Alright, you will begin when I cut the rope, ringing the bell. Ready?" Tatsuya asked. kit took a deep breath, he looked at Ryu, who nodded and walked to the edge of the dojo, he was not allowed to participate in this duel.
Kit nodded, signalling his intention to get the final test begun. Tatsuya nodded and looked at Monasu. He nodded.
"Alright.......GO!!!!" He yelled as he let his scythe drop, cutting the rope that caused a log to hit a gong.

Monasu charged at Kit. Holding the sword over his head. Kit charged too, the sword still behind his back, ready to swing it out as need be. As they came nearly nose to nose Monasu disappeared. Kit slid to a halt and looked around. Monasu was nowhere in sight. All of the sudden Kit felt a blow to the back of his head. He fell, face forward onto the tatami mats lining the dojo.
"That's one," Monasu said smirking as he disappeared again. Kit lifted himself off of the floor with his bamboo sword. He stood at ready stance again. This time he didn't move. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
-I must find some way to perform a counterattack- He thought. He stood his ground, waiting for Monasu to appear again. He stood frozen, for five minutes, unmoving, unwilling to let the Abra-hybrid to get the drop on him again. Suddenly Kit felt it, a small displacement of air to the left of him. He rolled out of the way, just as Monasu appeared and swiped his sword a the empty space Kit had been one second beforehand. Kit smiled, he found the telltale sign. This, he knew, would give him the upper hand.
Kit looked over toward Tatsuya, where Ryu was sitting, intently watching his master. The shinx had pride glowing in his eyes. Kit smiled and focused on the battle being waged.
"Well done, you might have figured a way to dodge me, but you will NEVER strike a single hit on me," Monasu stated, still smirking. He disappeared again. Kit stood up, getting into ready stance once more.
-We shall see...won't we?- he thought to himself. Kit felt again, He felt for the displacement where Monasu would appear next. There! He felt it! Kit smirked, now it was his turn. He rolled around the displacement putting it between him and where he once was. Monasu appeared, striking at where Kit once was. Kit struck out, swinging the sword in an upward-diagonal slash, knocking the Abra-hybrid onto the mats.
"One," Kit said as Monasu looked at him, surprised. Tatsuya clapped his scythes as Ryu ran up to Kit. Kit walked toward them, leaning the bamboo sword on his shoulder.
"Nicely done, I would be honored if you would train under me" Tatsuya said, pride showing on his face. The scyther-hybrid looked like it was as excited as its pupil. Kit kneeled in front of his new teacher.
"I would be honored and accept you gracious offer to train under you, Sensei Tatsuya." Kit replied bowing. Tatsuya motioned for him to stand and held out two swords.
"Now take one, as proof that you are my student. These are only forged for my students and so you will carry the honor of holding a real scyther blade infused sword. This makes the blade near impossible to break," Tatsuya said. Kit looked. Tatsuya held out a mid-sized katana and a smaller Wakizashi, both swords suitable for Kit's style of fighting. Kit took the katana. he liked the longer reach and the more balanced feel to it. Tatsuya handed him a sheath and kit strapped it to his belt. Kit bowed one more time at his new teacher.
"Now, go, get some rest, you'll need it for your first training tomorrow morning,"Tatsuya advised. Kit nodded and walked out, to pitch a tent under the stars and think about his exciting day.

Kit woke up and stretched his arms. He stood up and got dressed. He packed the tent up and placed it in his bag. Putting together a pile of sticks, Ryu used a Spark to start the wood on fire.
"Now...what AM I going to have for breakfast?" He asked himself. Just then Monamasu appeared beside him. Holding a carton of eggs. He sat down next to the fire and Kit looked at him curiously.
"Come, sit...you'll need the energy for training today." the abra-hybrid said patting the ground next to him. Kit sat down.
"Listen, I'm sorry about yesterday...gotta be hard on all the new trainees," Monasu said. He cracked a few eggs over the rock. "Now, I advise a few things. One, never try Master Tatsuya's patience. He will be patient to you, as long as you are respectable to him. Two, He will try to make you do things that will seem nigh impossible but i assure you, everything Tatsuya does has a purpose and can be done, given some thought. And the last thing, Never, NEVER challenge Tatsuya to a sparring match, no matter how skilled you've become. He will find a way to beat you as he did me." He winced. Kit nodded, taking out some plates from his bag and handing one to Monasu. He took the plate and slid some eggs onto it, he handed it to Kit.
Kit took the plate and shoveled the eggs into his mouth, just realizing he missed lunch and dinner the day before. Monasu nodded and stood up.
"Had enough?" he asked. Kit nodded and stood up. He kicked the rock off of the flames and stomped them down, making sure they were all out before he walked inside the dojo. walking inside the dojo, Kit replaced his shoes with the slippers yet again and walked toward the main room. This time there were no traps waiting for him.
