As your so new to the guild and this avi is of a very reasonable price I would suggest using this as your motivation to learn the best ways to get gold from the site. It's a very achievable value and you will have a much better understanding of gaia from earning this one yourself.

Posting in forums
Playing games
Entering competitions
From the overseer in your fish tank (check under the my gaia tab)
From daily chance-This is the little red grab machine found under your gold total. There is one on each page daily. I.E Home,My gaia,shop,community,world,games.
As you understnad the site better you could also consider playing the market place by buying low and selling high for profit.
