Any pokemon you breed or encounter in the wild has a 1 in 8192 chance of being shiny.
If, however, you use the PokeRadar and "chain" pokemon (in other words you use the PokeRadar to battle the same pokemon over and over) then the chance of that pokemon being shiny goes up slightly (I think the best is when you've chained 40+ pokemon, in which the chance maxes out at 1 in 200.)

Just train them >_<; Battle EVERYONE, walk around Victory Road for quite a while, and train train train.
Eventually, with determination, you'll beat them.
If you 'borrow' someone's pokemon, even if you give it back, after the Elite Four, you're not going to stand a chance against the next bits.

You won't really feel accomplished if you just borrow someone else's pokemon. It's like cheating on a test...only in a game...

Exactly! And games are designed that way to make you keep playing! Not to scold you, but you might as well buy a game shark and level them up to 99.
Its the easyest time in the game to level up before you beat the elite 4. You still have traners that wan't to battle you. Go back, find them, and beat them to a pulp! XD

:3 Try getting all your Pokemon in your Elite Four party to level 66, like I did. I suggest catching a Medicham in Victory Road and trading it for a Haunter in Snowpoint (Oh, Gaspar, one of the strongest on my team. heart )
