ummmmmmm, no offense to the creator of this thread (and i am not sure if anybody's pointed it out), but shouldn't the title say "Nihon-go no Kaiwa"?
Oh and

I don't have a japanese script installed, so I'll be speaking in Romanji. I also speak a little bit slang-ish, because that's the way I talk with my family.

Not to knock on you all who are self taught [I think its wonderful that you want to learn another language] but personally, I think speaking amongst other non-native speakers will only harm your ability to learn Japanese [or any other language] correctly. I read [or attempted to] the sentence you wrote about 'please don't make me talk to myself', and already there are things wrong with it. What you have to realize is that you can't word for word translate one language to another. So..mhmmn. Again, I really do applaud all of you for trying, but if you want to learn to be able to communicate with a Japanese person without he or she having a blank or confused look on their face, try taking a Japanese course through school or try purchasing language learning software with voal tracks, or even more fun: find a penpal who lives in Japan and try talking with them.
