It was only the birthplace of some of the greatest dragon tamers in the world, like Lance, the champion of the Johto league. While she was here, she needed to take a look inside the famous Dragon's Den, regardless of whether or not the egg was there. For now, she sent out Vandal, who assumed his human form and crossed his arms. "Oh no, I'm not helping you this time around. You can find the egg yourself." He insisted with a sense of finality. "What?! Why?" Scarlett asked incredulously. "You know damn well why. What you pulled at the Lake of Rage was unfair." Scarlett sighed, feeling exasperated. "Arceus, fine ya big baby." This wasn't worth fighting over. She could send another pokemon to help look and/or just find it herself.

Scarlett started off by searching around town, after all, if the egg were in the dragon's den, the list probably would have said so instead of Blackthorn City. A low whistle behind her caught Scarlett's attention however, and she slowed her pace. "Wow, aren't you a tall drink of water?" Scarlett stopped and turned to look at the man looking after her. He held a rather relaxed smile for someone being so boldly flirtatious, the type of self confidence Scarlett had to respect. "You have good taste." Scarlett remarked with a coy smile. Honestly the man wasn't too bad looking himself, in spite of his messy black ponytail and the scar across his nose. He had a thinner frame than one expected for such a muscular looking chest, and he openly carried a katana on his back, clothed in a bright red kimono. "So I've been told. Tell me, do angels have names? Because I'd love to know yours." He bowed gracefully and took her hand to kiss it, causing Scarlett to grin widely. She didn't usually go the type of man who were easy and overly flattering, but there was a certain charm to the way he did it. "You can call me Regina." Scarlett suggested. "Regina? I like it, but I would prefer to call you mine." Another flattering grin crossed his face and Scarlett couldn't help but laugh.

"Is it true that everyone in Blackthorn are dragon tamers?" Scarlett asked curiously. "Heh, not everyone, but most tend to be yeah. You can't blame us, given our culture and history." Scarlett chuckled. "Oh, I wouldn't dream of blaming you, but now I have to ask, are you a dragon tamer?" Jian smiled. "You catch on quick." He nodded, releasing a mega ampharos, an altaria, a flygon, a dragonair, and a pokemon she'd seen that rainbow suicune toting around before. "Impressed? I heard you say that you needed training, and I'd be happy to oblige." Scarlett considered his offer. "Alright, but just a quick match, one on one. I can't get too sidetracked from looking for eggs." Jian chuckled good naturedly. "Understandable." Calling Luna, Scarlett faced Jian's flygon, which was quite strong, but Luna still toughed it out, and soon Scarlett was spraying her down with potions to heal back the damage done.

Being upfront was certainly something to be admired, and it was interesting for Scarlett to have her own charming tactics used against her, but still, she shook her head. "Sorry to say, but you're wasting your time again." She insisted. "Am I? Tsk tsk... I should really stop doing that." He mused with another charming smile, his tone suggesting that he didn't believe her. His hunch wasn't unfounded, given that Scarlett didn't seem to mind the proximity and being flirted with. She rather liked Jian actually, but something still wouldn't let her give in to his charms so easily. "You should, or at least you should find someone worth your investment. I don't do relationships.""You should give yourself more credit. I think you're quite the investment, even for just a little time.""I suppose time is the only currency you have to invest then? I don't think you can afford me." Scarlett chuckled. "That depends... What sort of currency are you looking for?" Jian asked curiously, his smile ever present. "Nothing at the moment.""Hm... Scarlett expected him to be as desperate in his kiss as his personality seemed to be, but instead he was gentle and earnest, something that caught Scarlett off guard. "I recall only promising one kiss..." Scarlett insisted with a frown, pulling away slightly after the third. Jian smiled apologetically. "Ah, forgive me, I couldn't resist. If you want, I would be happy to make it up to you. Here..." He pulled out a pen and scrap of paper from his bag, writing down his number and handing it to Scarlett. The redhead took it after some hesitation, sticking it into Dotty's journal. Before she could speak again, Vandal cleared his throat, stepping forward. "While you two were busy, I got your egg." He suggested, tossing the colored plastic oval at Scarlett who caught it with some difficulty and scowled at Vandal. Jian simply chuckled and backed away. "Seems you got what you wanted after all. Think about my offer, will you?" Jian insisted, waving Scarlett off as he turned and walked away. The arrival in Blackthorn City was uneventful; not surprising given its seclusion in the mountains. He expected more though from a place famous for its dragon trainers; the skies to be full of the lizards and different trainers interacting with them in the process to better form bonds. It wasn’t as crowded as some of the other places they’d been; trainers who weren’t aware or unable to make use of the riding pager were probably working their way through the nearby mountains just to get here. That was probably quite the struggle; he was aware that the pokemon in the surrounding areas were rather strong. Small time trainers certainly wouldn’t fair well.

The big question on Avikna's mind as the group flew over the Ice Path, was she willing to take on Clair as of now? She had a plan to use Isisra and Nepherit, but they were both still so inexperienced. She thought back to her fight with her Grandfather, sure she'd won then, but she also had a full team of six to take on his six. Clair was no doubt packing every dragon available within the Johto and Kanto area. Meaning, Kingdra, Dragonair, and likely a Dragonite were on her team. Being related to Lance, A Gyarados, Aerodactyl, Lapras or Charizard were also likely on the team. No, if she wanted to take on Clair.. she'd have to be patient.
Upon landing, the red-head dismounted Tay, turning towards the young girl as she rushed over from Mave. "So, Are you going to take on the gym here!?" Tay inquired, an eagerness in her eyes that made it hard to say no. "I don't think so. I'm strong, but I can't be over confident. Clair will have to wait." Avikna replied. Deciding upon their next course of action, they first had to obtain the final Johto egg. Somewhere in this city it hid. Tay took the lead, given this was her mission, while Avikna stuck around and kept watch over her, and for potential Pokemon to battle with Nepherit. The canine was getting better and better at fighting for itself, so it was only a matter of time before she'd be useful in a gym like Clair's... or Opelucid's. Come to think of it, she wasn't even aware who'd she be fighting once in Opelucid. She'd heard tales of two gym leaders, but perhaps that was just a misunderstanding? Well, such thoughts would have to wait. As the group appraoched the north side of town, a Gligar, who'd latched itself to the mountain side, swooped down and began to taunt Nepherit, who turned towards the Pokemon and begun barking. "Nepherit, don't bark, fight! Use Dragonbreath!" Avikna called out, showing only a slight bit of annoyance towards the pup dragon. She looked back for a moment stifling a bark before turning back towards the Gligar and unleashing her draconian flames.

At the other end of the pond a cave mouth opened to a place known as the Dragon's Den. The other kept barreling forward, only to meet claws from Garnet who'd appeared from her ball in the nick of time, before it knocked into Tay. The Grovyle slid some, but managed to hold on enough to use a Leaf Blade attack and knock the boulder back herself. While Garnet's boulder fainted, Nepherit's managed to hold on, a far stronger opponent it seemed. Though the cowardly Pokemon that was Graveler, it used Self-destruct, a large explosion erupted from the area, blasting Nepherit back, as well as Garnet, who'd come in to try and protect Nepherit.
