"Hey don't fret, your Pokemon is a higher level and Mareep's still tired from the first battle." April nodded but didn't look hopeful. "What if you had a level fifty Blastoise and I had a level twenty Ivysaur? I have the type advantage but that's not the only advantage out there. Mareep has a steel move in case ground Pokemon try to have an advantage over him." April nodded confidently now and sent out Wartortle to try to complete this battle.

Mareep looked really tired so the moment Wartortle went down Simon rushed over to him hugging and petting him before spraying him with potions. "You did great,"he said to Mareep then looked up at April who had returned her Wartortle as she needed to heal it up at the Pokemon Center. Thanking him for the lessons April hurried off to heal half her team up. Standing Simon returned Mareep and checked the Pokenav to see which way to go to get to Glittering Cave. Sending Aron out he healed him up as well before starting the walk towards the cave.

There was a ding from his Pokenav as Simon sent out Mareep. He jumped up and down excited as he started to glow. When the light vanished Mareep was standing on his hind legs with less wool. Mareep had evolved into "Flaaffy the wool Pokemon. Flaaffy's wool quality changes so that it can generate a high amount of static electricity with a small amount of wool. The bare and slick parts of its hide are shielded against electricity." Nodding at Flaaffy Simon remembered a TM he found, TM #24 Thunderbolt. Removing the TM from his pack he placed it in the Pokenav and held it up to Flaaffy. Forgetting Thunder Wave he learned Thunderbolt, a much stronger electric move. With that he returned Flaaffy and went towards the cave.

"Yes?" Alexandra drawled, a tad confused. It wasn't that surprising that she would be going for all eight badges, it was the primary goal of a trainer, and an inevitable one at that. But... this was Marx she was talking to. Her expression relaxed, giving enough time for a smile to briefly flicker, and she nodded in silent agreement. "It will, but I look forward to the challenge." And she did, even if training her pokemon to become strong enough to defeat six--twelve, if she really was committed to defeating the Hoenn region as well--gym leaders would be arduous, it was a rather comforting, and exciting, idea of getting them to that point. "Do you plan on doing the same?"
It wasn't even a minute after Marx had shown off his digital map that it rang again, another message from Cheria. It was nice to see Marx was keeping in contact with his friends-- oh, huh.. well wasn't that an odd thought to have. It was a genuine one though. Out of the very few friends the brunette had--and they were very few--Marx was the one she worried about the most, Rose was the second. It just had something to do with the fact that he was too trusting and gullible, he was easy to dupe; and that was what worried her the most. This wasn't the place to dwell on those thoughts, however, and so she packed and tucked it away to deal with another time.
She picked up the pace when Marx confirmed that he was ready, automatic doors opening wide for her and her pokemon. Alexandra faltered just long enough for her friend to catch up before she made a beeline for Connecting Cave.

Shenaiya decided not to interrupt them and headed around the town herself. Deciding that she really should at least put the new pokemon she had received into her pc. Maybe she could just... Figure out what to do from then on. She tapped her chin as she entered the pokemon center. Intent on putting any of the pokemon she didn't need or didn't know into her pc so she could concentrate on those that were in her party. Maybe she would switch it up in another region? Give all of her pokemon a chance to shine? As she started placing the pokemon in her pc however, her phone buzzed. Pulling her holocaster into view as she switched to moving another into the pc she saw a news cast that seemed to be being broadcasted to many people at once. She listened as she placed another ball into the pc and was bewildered by the idea of another demension for exploration. It just screamed for her to go in! She finished putting them away and looked at the ones she had on her belt. Serenity she would keep with her, along with Minnie, but the others she would just put away. She looked back into the box that held the items left and realized she had missed an egg. Eyes kinda wide, she realized she would have to carry it around and hatch it! Otherwise it wouldn't work that well! With that, she decided to remove minnie from her person. Even if she would have loved to keep Minnie around with her. But she couldn't. But who was she going to replace? Then she remembered the black Joltic she had. She would put Jessica away also. That way, she had the ones she needed. She looked at the PC and her remaining pokeballs and nodded. Now she would need to organize those items into her bag and then she could be done with that box. But for now she just tossed them into her bag and walked out of the pokemon center with the egg in her arms and heading straight for the distortion.

Shenaiya was screeching as she was sucked out of the distorted area and fell right onto her rear. Rubbing it, Naiya looked around. She was back in Ambrette... But where was Xena and Kenichi? Where were her starter and her 'advisor'. Just as she started getting worried however, the Misdreavus popped out from the ground and chuckled at her. Naiya reared back in surprise before the shiny ghost could do anything. It seemed to yawn just as Xena and Kenichi popped into existence. "Oh my Arceus! Xena! Kenichi! I'm so glad your okay!!!" She said rather shrilly, throwing her arms around their necks and being rather happy to see them. She stood quickly though, looking at the shiny misdreavus. Who had started disappearing. "You plan to follow us around don't you." Naiya said. The misdreavus just chuckled.
Naiya sighed before deciding they needed to go ahead and head to the next area. The egg being pulled out of her bag, glad it was okay. She finally left however, heading into Connecting Cave to head to the next area. But as she neared the cave she remembered she could fly with Cynthia, and instead took to the sky putting Kenichi and Xena away. She flew away. Completely at the mercy of Cynthia. At first anyway

Arriving in Ambrette, the two actually found themselves right outside the aquarium. ".... Well that's convenient," Mel remarked, raising her eyebrows a bit. Brian flashed her a grin. "Right? See! Barely have to even detour!" he boasted. She rolled her eyes a bit. If 'barely' meant 'walk all the way along the beach and up to the second story of the aquarium', then... sure. 'Barely' out of the way. Still, though... it had been a nice little scenic path. "What exactly did you want to see here, anyway?" she asked, absently looking around.
"Well--" The rest of Brian's answer was drowned out at the sound of a familiar voice. Mel snapped her attention to finding the source, her eyes scouring the area, before landing on a tall, dark skinned, familiar dark-violet-haired figure a little ways away. She stared at the woman, who was talking with two other men. Perhaps it was her own sixth sense, or perhaps it was just her scanning the area on her own, but the woman turned her gaze from her company as she continued the conversation, and her eyes met Mel's.
".... Mom...?" Mel muttered, furrowing her brow a bit.

The woman smiled as she recognized Mel, and Brian blinked, looking over, and jumping about a foot as he noticed her approaching. "Who-oh! H-hi Mrs. Foss..." he greeted in surprise, blushing and backing up a few steps. She gave a kind, but slightly sly smile as she looked at Brian, tilting her head. "Hello Brian," she greeted warmly, then looked to Mel, lifting a hand to her daughter's cheek. "Hello Melinda." She dropped her arm down, her expression turning quizzical. "I'm surprised to see you here," she remarked, then lowered her gaze to Lucy, who she seemed to just notice. "And who's this?" Adjusting the skirt of her dress, she lowered her self to Lucy's level, giving a soothing, friendly smile to the pokemon.
"That's.... Lucy, my starter. What are you doing here, mum?" Mel asked, shifting and folding her arms over her chest. "... Lucy, hm?" her mom repeated, glancing up at her with a smile. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Lucy," she greeted, holding a hand out to the monferno. "Mon?" Lucy blinked, glancing between the woman, and Mel, and then giving a happy chirrup in greeting, and reaching out to take her hand. Mel's mother chuckled, then stood up, brushing back some of her hair as she added a nod towards the zygarde that shadowed Mel. "And hello to you too, Z," she added, receiving a nod in return from the legendary.

Mel's mother turned her attention back to her daughter. "I'm here for a charity," she replied simply, then seemed to straighten a bit, her smile growing. "You should come. It will be in the aquarium later today." She gave a graceful gesture towards the building nearby. "I'll have your name put on the list." She gave Brian another playful little smile. "You're, of course, welcome to come too, Brian," she added. The brunette gave a nervous sort of laugh. "Aha. Right," he managed, scratching the back of his neck and evasively looking off to the side. The woman lowered her eyelids in amusement, then looked back to Mel, giving her another affectionate touch. "I would love to see you there, Melinda," she added a bit more firmly. Mel took a deep breath, looking back at her mom, waiting for her to withdraw her hand.
Eventually she did, pulling away, and moving back towards the two men she'd been talking to before. "You'll want to dress nicely, though," she added, pulling the handbag out from under her arm to withdraw a communicator, "And please, if you can't convince Brian, try and bring a date." Mel rolled her eyes, and lifted a hand to place her fingers against her forehead, her other arm crossing over her chest and propping her elbow up. "Right. See you there, mum," she muttered back, though her mom was already walking away, typing something into her device as she did.

Brian puffed out his cheeks a bit and rocked on his heels, waiting a moment before looking at Mel. "Soooo..... Are you going?" he asked, raising his eyebrows a bit. "Well I don't exactly have a choice," she replied, and gave his sleeve a tug as she started walking again. They needed to go get some food and get dressed, anyway, plus they had time to kill before this... event. "And you're going too," she added, jabbing a finger back at his chest. "Ow," Brian muttered, rubbing his wounded pec, before giving a low laugh as he realized what she said, "Oh. Oh ho ho... No. No I'm not."
She turned her head a bit to give him an 'Oh really?' look with a raised eyebrow. "Yes, you are." She turned back around, heading through the aquarium, and into the town. "You can try on that suit I got you." Brian made a face. "Okay now I'm definitely not going," he muttered. "Look, it's your fault I have to go to this, so you're going. We'll go get a room in the pokecenter, get some food, get dressed... get ready... maybe check out the town a bit, and then head to the aquarium," she decided, adjusting her bag. Brian frowned deeply, stubbornly pulling out a bag of chips, and promptly stuffing his face with a huff. He was clearly not interested in going along with this plan.

The two did manage to get to the pokecenter, caught up in a tense silence, and Mel grabbed some food for them before joining Brian upstairs, in one of the rooms. "Alright, eat up, then go take a shower and try on your suit," Mel instructed, striding in, checking her communicator and dropping off the bag of food on the table. "I am not wearing a suit," Brian muttered, walking over and pulling out his food. He helped distribute the pokemon's meals before dropping down and starting on his own. Mel rolled her eyes at him, but focused on her message. "Whatever. At least clean up once you're done eating, alright?" she replied, setting her device aside, finally, and starting on her own food. He grunted in response and she took a deep breath, letting out slowly, and letting silence lapse over them. She glanced over as he finished and, after a pouting moment, stood up to go take a shower.
"... I'm going to go get some shopping done," Mel decided, looking to her pokemon. She lifted a hand, pointing a finger at Lucy, Phia, and Kiwi. "Hide his clothes," she instructed in a lower voice, pushing her seat back, and standing. "I'll be back in a bit." She grabbed her bag, giving one last glance to the bathroom door, before heading out, nodding to Z to come with her, and promptly disappearing downstairs.

While Mel set out to go shopping, her pokemon were left with her, admittedly somewhat vague, instructions. "Do you think she meant all of them?" Lucy queried, blinking and hopping over to Brian's belongings, glancing back at the other two. "I think she just meant everything but the suit..." Phia murmured, her voice a gentle hiss, "I can burn the rest..." Lucy deadpanned a bit. "... She said to hide them," she stressed, looking at the fire pokemon. Phia simply stared straight ahead with narrowed eyes. "Perhaps you should try placing them in a different room," Blue mused, swimming in his fishbowl as he eyed the group.
Kiwi blinked slowly where it sat on the table.
"I still say we should burn them... It assures us that he will have to wear the suit," Phia urged. Lucy gave her a look, then started gathering up Brian's clothes. She paused a moment to dig up the suit, and placed it on the bed, before making sure she had all his things. She took a moment to quietly sneak into the bathroom and take what he had there -- as reminded by Phia -- before dragging the bag to the door. "I think Blue's idea is best. I'll be right back," she whispered, opening the door, and slipping out.
She returned just as the water turned off in the bathroom, and quickly took her place back up on the table, resuming eating with the other pokemon. ".... Huh?" She exchanged a look with the other pokemon present as Brian's voice resounded from the bathroom. After a moment, the door burst open, and he stepped out, towel around his waist as he looked around. He blinked, staring at the spot where his things had been-- and then looking at the suit. He walked over, staring down at it, then quickly spinning around to sweep the room again. ".... Wat."

Elsewhere, Mel was stalking the stores, Z following along when he could, and waiting outside when he couldn't. She was having a bit of a hard time finding a dress.... and she, of course, couldn't go and pick shoes or an accessory without making her mind up on a dress first. She did note a few of the stores that had some of those, though, to come back to once she had made up her mind. Sighing, she ran a hand back through her hair as she left another shop, knowing full well there weren't many to check here to begin with. Maybe she would just have to use one she already had with her, after all...

As they landed for what seemed the twentieth time, Lafayette found himself frowning wearily. He took a moment to look around the town, allowing Dova a moment of rest as the Noivern yawned and scratched at the back of her own ears. He stepped away and wearily looked about, trying to figure where he was. This… seemed like the right place; a cliff face, near the ocean and what not. What was the name of the place? Cyllage? This had to be the right place.
Returning Dova, he looked around some and rubbed his eyes. He’d head to the pokemon center first; he needed to heal his team still from the last battle anyways and he could inquire there where the gym was. Luckily, it wasn’t hard to find the center insignia and he stepped inside and went up to the Nurse Joy.
”Oh dear… are you alright sir?” Nurse Joy inquired as she took his pokeballs. Lafayette gave her a groggy look, lazily nodding. "Yah ma’am. Can ya tell me where the gym is?" Lafayette asked, folding his arms on the counter as he leaned on it. The Nurse Joy seemed surprise by his accent, considering what he said a moment with a bit of confusion before it seemed to dawn on her.
”Gym? Oh! You must be speaking about the one in Cyllage City. You’re in Ambrette Town right now.” She answered, causing Lafayette to frown. So he was in the wrong place… damn. With a sigh he stepped back. "Eh… thanks." He grumbled. That was annoying. Though he couldn’t blame anyone; it wasn’t like he could read maps or anything, he just went where the blips told him too. Joy nodded as she took the pokeballs, turning to head for the back room but pausing briefly to look at the blonde once more.
”You should take a rest sir. You look exhausted. There are spare beds in the back room if you’d like, or a room.” The Nurse Joy urged. Lafayette opened his mouth a moment, about to say something that probably wasn’t appropriate before he clamped it shut again. He could afford a rest. His pokemon deserved it too. They’d been going pretty hard with all the battles. "Ta ma’am… I… I think I will." And with that he headed back to one of the spare cots that seemed to line the walls for quick break.

Lafayette was unconscious the minute he hit the pillow. Maybe it was some form of jet lag that had him as tired as he was, but he was out like a light the moment he had the chance. It wasn’t more than a couple of hours or so to be honest, but it felt like days. It might’ve felt like weeks too if something hadn’t gone and invaded the sanctity of the silence.
”Aren’t you just adorable when you’re sleeping hm~?” Groggily, Lafayette managed to stir and open his eyes about half way, gaze narrowing at the sight of Juliean sitting in o chair next to the cot he was occupying, chin in hand with that sly smile on his face. Freaking creeper. He seemed to note Lafayette awakening, head tilting just a bit. ”Awww, I’m sorry, did I disturb your nap? Not that I care but still, seems only proper to ask.” The blonde grumbled something under his breath, inaudible. Soon though he’d managed to push himself up to prop on an elbow, giving his employer an unenthused expression.
"Whaddaya wan’ mate…" He grumbled. Juliean quirked an eyebrow, straightening up in his seat. ”Ah nothing. Just a quick check in. Actually, I notice you’ve been everywhere but the sun. I take it you’ve been gathering badges like a good little grunt, yes?” He smirked as Lafayette simply rolled his eyes. What a dumb question. Still, the blonde nodded in confirmation, just because. ”Ah good, good! My, you collected quite a few rather quickly.” Juliean already had the badge case in hand, snapping it open and taking a look. He seemed to mentally be checking off the collection before another nod occurred and he snapped it shut again, chucking it back onto the bed. Lafayette just watched; he was still coming around but he was already growing annoyed.
"Yeh mate. Wha’, you wan’ me doin’ somethin’ else?" The Aussie grumbled, earning himself a little chuckle from his employer. ”Ah no. I want you to keep doing what you’re doing. Grunt work is good; keeps the soul alive.” Or killed you quickly, as was the case here. The smirk quickly vanished though as the man’s expression became rather serious. ”Though there is a small task I have for you.” Without much hesitation he snapped, a poke appearing in the same raised hand. He eyed it lazily before giving Lafayette a rather serious stare.

What was that now? He had a hard time recalling what pokemon Juliean was referring too; it seemed like such a long time ago that he’d lit the incense to catch anything in the first place. The man seemed to recognize the look of confusion, eyes rolling before he rather violently chucked the ball, watching as it lightly ‘thunk’ed off of the side of Lafayette’s head and landed on the bed. The blonde scowled, raising a hand and rubbing the area where he’d been struck. "HEY-"
”Get rid of it.” Juliean cut him off, eyes closing as he settled back into his seat. The Aussie gave him a blank kind of look which resulted in yet another roll of the man’s eyes. ”I don’t care how you do. Let it loose, kill it, sell it. Whatever.” The peeved serious look returned as he stood, straightening his coat before giving Lafayette another glare. ”Just get rid of it.” Well… alright then. He seemed really serious about that being done. Unrealistically so. Lafayette just sighed –stifling a yawn in the process- before nodding his head once more. "Fine… fine. Whatevah ya say." If it kept Juliean from bothering him for a little bit longer, than what was the harm?
”Good.” There was a pause, Juliean straightening his coat once more before giving Lafayette a lazy look, hand gesturing through the air. ”And do get some rest. You’re no use to me tired and dead.” And with that, like he always did, Juliean teleported away. Lafayette stared at the space where the man had been, frown on his face as he rolled the pokeball in his hand. Ugh well… alright then.

Lafayette got in a few more winks of sleep, not long but some before finally wrestling himself up and about. He wasn’t as tired as he was earlier which was good, it gave him the ability to focus on the task at hand. Once he’d retrieved his team from the Nurse Joy, he opted to take a walk about town. He had the spare Riolu’s pokeball in hand, rolling it about as he thought of what he’d do with it.
He could set it free but if there was anything that he learned from his stint in Plasma, it was the value of returning a pokemon to their habitat. This wasn’t the place where he caught the Riolu though and he wasn’t entirely certain that type of pokemon was native to Kalos. Did they? He really didn’t know. Really. He could… off it. But that wasn’t something he was really interested in doing.
So what could he do… the next best option was to pawn it off on someone. That was the best bet; trainers were always looking for new pokemon to train for whatever reasons, be it expand their pokedex or battle groups or what not. He was pretty satisfied with his team as was but he was certain there was someone around who’d take it off his hands.
With that thought still playing in his mind, he decided to head down to the pokemon market. He needed to refresh his supplies for future battles and maybe find some items to help his team out a bit. That was his first focus.
