• Hugs - I would only allow either the claws inside the arm or the buzz saws, not both. If you want to keep the three saws, I would not allow the blades to cause anything more than a half-inch worth of cutting depth.

• Top Hat - the 'trigger' is not described. How does it 'trigger?' Gas will incur a Ryo cost for replacement cannisters. Even if Zen makes the gas, the materials will still cost money.

• Fog - Is this fog made via chakra or is it just the system that churns out the fog that consumes the chakra?

• 'Poons - exact location of the harpoons, the speed they travel, how long is the chain, does the chain retract back into the puppet, returning the harpoons to their original slots?

• Eyes - how large and heavy are the stone eyes?


* Hugs - Hmm...What is instead it was one contraption? Where the claws are reduced to two inches, and they can move along the tracks of the inner arms?

* Top Hat - Edited in bold.

* It is... I guess both ( Trying to understand the puppet system. ) Essentially, it ( the system ) is activated "turned-on" after initial chakra is made. The fog is maintained, by additional chakra being added after select posts, as described at the bottom of the description of the mechanism.

Edit in your idea on the size of saws/claws, how deeply they cut into flesh, and how close together they are for the 'Hugs' contraption and I'll look at it again.

So the Top Hat needs to be remade each time? As in detonating the contraption destroys the hat? If so, you need material and time costs added for it to be remade. Same with refilling it with the gas. Also, I forgot to mention this before, but I would also add in that a single dose exposure of the gas will not be allowed to cause brain damage. Either add in something along the lines of "if continuously exposed to 6 posts worth of gas" and even then, I would allow them to fall unconscious, but 'brain damage' on the 7th post if still exposed. And only with Captain approval.

So the gas is man-made. Activating the 'Fog' contraption means chakra is used to churn out the fog, and extra chakra is used to keep the fog in the area, yes? I would suggest including how many 'canisters' or such of the fog you have stored in the puppet and, after each use, the canisters would have to be refilled. There would also be a Ryo cost to refilling them.

As for the harpoons, if they do hit their target, is the reeling in mechanism too weak to pull a person in with them?

The Eyes would be almost completely disintegrated upon impact and would also need a replacement price.

Edited. But no, the top hat does not explode in itself, just the material within it to bring the poison into the air.

The Indigo Secret Technique: Iron Funeral Grand Performance of Nine Marionettes is a full collection of nine puppets by Tetsuhiko Hanzo entirely constructed from iron with light iron plate skin and reinforced clog-free iron joints that can be entirely manipulated with chakra threads and magnetism and attached and detached. As a result of the iron and steel construction, these puppets are much heavier and sturdier than the average wooden doll so Jiton is used to mitigate the weight. All of the Iron Funeral puppets have sixty-one iron organ keys inside of their chests with pipe throats and mouth openings allowing the puppets to be played like pipe organs. Every puppet also has space in their stomach cavity for ten gallons of iron sand that can be extracted from the mouth. In all of the launchers, gas, and blades of the Iron Funeral collection are poisoning chambers for hazards.These puppets are designed for tactical offensive and defensive cooperation and while each puppet can stand powerfully on its own their true power lies in unity. Each puppet has a tailored role designated as a specific chess piece with a pawn as a front-line soldier, the knight as a warrior, a bishop as a healer, a rook as a long range attacker, the queen as the master tactician, and the king as the defense. Each puppet has two symbols inscribed into the back of the neck, their chess piece designation and the indigo symbol of the Iron Prince. All of the puppets are uniquely designed and highly detailed making for a truly exquisite collection.

Puppet Name: Artemisia (Pawn)
Puppet Appearance: [x]

Puppet Description: Artemisia is a pawn and foot soldier of the Iron Funeral puppets. She has iron plate skin which provides strong reinforcement but weighs her down considerably, but by using magnetism her mobility can be drastically increased. Her joints are also constructed of a reinforced iron that is difficult to destroy and clog to restrict mobility. She also wears a corset designed torso armor to protect her constitution considerably. Inside of her chest is sixty-one iron organ keys which can be played through chakra threads or magnetism and the sound escapes through a pipe in her throat and mouth.

She is approximately five feet tall with her main weapon being an iron whip that is two feet long when constricted by extends to a maximum of thirty feet long with six-inch spikes all across it and a three-foot spike at the end. This whip can be hidden in her left palm and it can be used to slash or impale her enemies or attach to another Iron Funeral puppet. Hidden in her right palm is a three-foot sword for slashing or impaling but can also rotate rapidly like a drill. The animal face on her corset can be used as a poison gas bomb launcher by opening its mouth to fire fifty. In her naval is a three-pronged senbon launcher capable of launching three hundred needles in quick succession.

Mechanism Summary:
• Spiked iron whip hidden and installed into the left hand.
• Sword with rotation mechanism hidden in right hand.
• Animal face symbol on corset as poison gas bomb launcher.
• Three-pronged senbon navel launcher with three hundred ammunition.

Puppet Description: Hermes is a knight of the Iron Funeral collection with the same iron construction and pipe organ design as the others. He stands at six feet tall and boasts a powerful fortitude in his armor and shield. His wing-shaped shield is installed into the back of his left hand and is precisely three feet in size. His jagged sword is installed into the back of his right hand and is three feet long. An E-A rank amount of chakra can be poured into the blade to increase its overall cutting power allowing it to cut through jutsu at or below that chakra level. The shield can also be enhanced by chakra from E-A rank to increase its overall protection to block techniques at or below that chakra level. Installed into the front of each palm are kunai launchers loaded with one hundred kunai each.

Mechanism Summary:

• Two kunai launchers in the center of each palm



3. Puppet Name: Caesar (King)
Puppet Appearance: [x]

Puppet Description: Caesar is the king of the Iron Funeral puppet set and the most defensively calibrated. Along with the other puppets in the set he has a 61 iron key pipe organ in his chest with a pipe in his throat for release through the mouth and reinforced iron joints. His skin is iron and he stands at a mighty seven feet making him a heavy, sturdy puppet. He has a large, hard-shelled armored torso with an opening in the back for up to three regular sized people. Tetsuhiko can comfortably use Caesar as puppet armor while manipulating other puppets. In his right hand he holds a three-foot broadsword and in his left, he holds a two-foot diameter globe. This globe is attached to his left palm by a thirty-foot chain hidden in his arm making it a powerful flail.

Within Caesar's skull is a chakra shield device that when channeled with D-A ranked chakra can create a shield over his skin and up to a thirty-foot diameter sphere. The chakra shield can protect against attacks at the level of chakra poured into it or below. For example, an A-Ranked chakra shield can protect against other A-Ranked attacks as well as E-B, but not S or S+. In each knee are rapid fire kunai launchers loaded with one hundred kunai each.

Mechanism Summary:
• Globe flail that can extend up to thirty feet by a chain hidden in the left arm.
• A chakra shield invention hidden in the skull.
• Two rapid-fire kunai launchers.



4. Puppet Name: Hera (Queen)
Puppet Appearance: [x]

Puppet Description: Hera is the queen of the Iron Funeral set and by far the most mobile and, arguably, the most powerful. The queen shares the same iron construction, internal pipe organ, etc. features that are signature to the Iron Funeral set. Located in her heels is a chakra-based speed mechanism which can be enhanced with C-A rank chakra to increase her overall movement speed. She moves at double her natural speed at C rank, triple at B-rank, and quadruple at A-rank. This allows her to run across the battlefield at blinding speeds and swing her blades equally quickly. In her hands she holds two blades, one short sword and one longsword.

Installed into her crown is a chakra mechanism that when C rank chakra is introduced to it can send out a shockwave out to a forty foot diameter to double the speed of the other Iron Funeral puppets. In the center of her shins are two seperate bomb launchers with each loaded with fifty ammunition. Her left shin contains smoke bombs and her right shin contains flash bombs.

Mechanism Summary:
• Chakra enhanced speed mechanism in heels of her feet.
• Chakra speed enhancing mechanism for her allies.
• One smoke bomb launcher in her left shin.
• One flash bomb launcher in her right shin.



5. Puppet Name: Io (Rook)
Puppet Appearance: [x]

Puppet Description: Io is a rook of the Iron Funeral set and has the same attributes outlined in the general description above. She is designed for long-range combat support. She is a small, four foot tall puppet who rides a levitating steel chariot in a bullhead design that is roughly six feet tall and four feet wide. The bull's mouth opens wide to reveal four ranged cannons. One cannon is a flamethrower with four gallons of fuel that can spit a flame up to twenty feet in front of her. The second cannon is a water pump that can spray a sharp stream of water twenty feet ahead of her capable of cutting rock.

The third cannon is a cannon capable of firing cannon balls with twenty five total ammunition. By pouring a D-A rank amount of chakra into the cannon balls their explosive power can be greatly enhanced. The fourth and final cannon is a senbon cannon with three hundred total ammunition. All of these cannons can be used at the same time or individually. The bull's head is also capable of capturing an enemy and locking them inside. In this state the aforementioned cannons can be used on the prisoner from within. Up to three prisoners can fit inside of this space.

Mechanism Summary:

6. Puppet Name: Thanatos (Pawn)
Puppet Appearance: [x]

Puppet Description: Thanatos is a pawn and front-line fighter in the Iron Funeral set designed for close-range encounters. He has all of the signature features of the Iron Funeral set as stated above. He is exactly five feet and nine inches tall. He has a simple four-foot long sword that he wields in his right hand. His signature weapon is the eight coffins on his back that are able to move in a 360-degree rotation. When any of the coffins open a set of ten sharpened iron tendrils are released in order to capture or simply attack a target per coffin as part of a single mechanism. Each tendril has a maximum range of twenty feet.

From his chest, he is able to launch one-front long scythe blades at deadly speeds with up to twenty-five in total ammunition. Installed into his left arm is a six-inch-diameter buzzsaw. He can also release a poisonous napalm-like smog from his mouth to blind, burn, and poison a target.

Mechanism Summary:
• Eighty total tendrils from eight coffins.
• Scythe blade launcher in his chest.
• Buzzsaw hid in the left arm.
• Poison smog mechanism from his mouth.



7. Puppet Name: Orpheus (Bishop)
Puppet Appearance: [x]

Puppet Description: Orpheus is a bishop of the Iron Funeral set who is designed for healing and support. He has all of the same qualities as his brothers and sisters of the Iron Funeral set as described above such as the internal pipe organ, iron joints, and general iron make and model. Orpheus is a small puppet standing at four feet tall. Hidden in Orpheus's left arm is a chakra mechanism designed for puppet repair. A C rank amount of chakra can be used for a limb, mechanism, or torso repair while an A rank amount of chakra can be used for a full repair.

Orpheus's limbs have a piston design allowing him to jump higher and move more fluidly around the battlefield. He has a steel harp mounted on his back that when played can release B rank shockwaves of chakra with the correct amount of chakra augmentation. Hidden in his right arm is a three foot long drill.

Mechanism Summary:
• Puppet repair mechanism in left arm.
• Powerful piston limbs.
• Chakra shockwave harp.
• Drill hidden in right arm.



8. Puppet Name: Isis (Rook)
Puppet Appearance: [x]

Puppet Description: Isis is a long-ranged rook of the Iron Funeral set with an iron body, internal iron pipe organ set, iron joints, and the other qualities which characterize the set. Isis is exactly five feet tall who is designed to hover above the battlefield and attack from the air. She has powerful three-foot long steel wings with a sharp edge which can be used as blades. Isis has two faces, her white face and her bull face. Her white face opens in order to play pipe organ music and also to release stored iron sand. Her bull face, on the other hand, opens to reveal four highly mechanized cannons which can be used all at once, one at a time, or some other combination.

The first cannon contains one hundred explosive tagged kunai that can be fired in incredibly quick succession. The second cannon fires up to twenty-five fuma shuriken with great aerodynamic efficiency. The third cannon rapid fires up to three hundred senbon in rows of five to rain over the battlefield. Finally, the fourth cannon can fire a highly pressurized and fine sniper shot from a distance of up to two hundred feet with one hundred ammunition.

Mechanism Summary:
• Tagged kunai cannon.
• Fuma shuriken cannon.
• Senbon cannon.
• Sniper shot launcher.



9. Puppet Name: Juno (Bishop)
Puppet Appearance: [x]

Puppet Description: Juno is a bishop of the Iron Funeral set with all of the aforementioned qualities of the collection. She is focused on support and buffing to improve the abilities of the other puppets. She stands at five feet tall and has an overall insect-like design. She has two wings which she uses to fly because they can move in many directions and can be manipulated for an aerodynamic sustained flight at high speeds. With a D Rank amount of chakra channeled into the wings the puppet's weight can be fully compensated for and Juno can fly more quickly. The large sphere below her midsection opens and contains a seat. The sphere is transparent from the inside allowing for full vision.

Within the sphere is a chakra device where an A Rank amount of chakra can be introduced for full cloaking making Juno invisible to the naked eye. Inside of her skull is another device where a C Rank amount of chakra can be used to send out a shockwave forty feet in diameter to double the firing speed of the launchers of ally Iron Funeral puppets. Juno also opens her mouth to reveal a senbon launcher loaded with three hundred senbon.

Mechanism Summary:
• Chakra enhanced wings.
• Chakra cloaking device.
• Chakra passive ally buff device.
• Senbon launcher from mouth/lower face.

Inserting an iron organ into a puppet gives it a 'mechanism' count, so each puppet that is considered as part of the set needs to have its mechanisms count updated. While I'll go over the details below, at this point in time I recommend using the Crafting Systems to make these, rather than the Custom Puppet Approval thread. (primarily due to the large mechanism counts) In addition, purchasing all of the large quantities of ammunition and explosive notes will consume great quantities of ryou, should you eventually choose to purchase the maximum for each puppet.

___Pawn: Needs mechanism choosing.
_____Knight: Needs mechanism choosing. The rest of the seeked mechanisms are approvable, so long as it's known that two same ranked chakras cancel each other out. (exceptions listed in the normal chakra thread, of course)
___King: Needs mechanism choosing. The rest of the seeked mechanisms are approvable, so long as it's known that two same ranked chakras cancel each other out. (exceptions listed in the normal chakra thread, of course) Internal chambers are also considered a mechanism.
_____Queen: Still in deliberation.
___Io: Needs mechanism choosing. Internal chambers are also considered a mechanism. Please choose which cannon(s) to ax if this is still wanted. For the cannonballs, are these solid balls which are just being launched, or are they filled with explosive notes, etc?
_____Thanatos: Needs mechanism choosing. As a single mechanism, the coffins-tendrils would open all at the same time, otherwise, 8 coffins equates to 8 mechanisms. If the 4' sword is attached physically to the arm, instead of sheathed and held willingly, then this is not a mechanism. (i.e. not counted) Please specify which already discovered Hazard is being used for the 'smog', as the poison will have to follow the established regs. If you're looking at some of the Hazards that have not yet been discovered, you'll have to venture out into the wilds for a Monster/Creature encounter!
_____Orpheus: Needs mechanism choosing. How does the 'repair' ability work? Is it simple welding? What is the min/max distance of the shockwave? Also, shockwaves are normally indiscriminate on damage; are you certain that you want such an ability around with other valuable puppets (mechanisms, yourself, teammates, etc) in range?
_____Isis: Needs mechanism choosing. As a singularly counted mechanism, all cannons would fire at once, otherwise they'd individually need a separate mechanism count. It's the same situation that Io has currently. If we assume that the faces are 1 mechanism, it's fine, otherwise I'd suggest tying the 'cannon fire' ability to an auto rotation of the head, meaning that while not firing, the white face snaps forward. The wings are fine if they're an actual part of the puppet. (i.e. not movable as a 'mechanism') The closest to an actual sniper weapon is the hand-powered injection shot sniper (no gunpowder involved). If the sniper is mimicking it, then it's fine.
_____Juno: Needs mechanism choosing. Internal chambers are considered a separate mechanism. For the sphere, know that the puppet itself will be blocking vision wherever itself is at the time. Also on the sphere, is it made with one-way mirrored glass? (confusion) If the cloaking is an actual device, rather than a technique like Meisaigakure no Jutsu, I recommend using the Refraction Variable Marbles listed in here. As for the shockwave ability, please see the above statements in Orpheus, as a shockwave by itself won't be able to buff.

When the coffins open a set of ten sharpened iron tendrils are released in order to capture or simply attack a target as part of a single mechanism. Each tendril has a maximum range of twenty feet.

From his chest, he is able to launch one-front long scythe blades at deadly speeds with up to twenty-five in total ammunition. Installed into his left arm is a six-inch-diameter buzzsaw.

A C rank amount of chakra can be used for a limb, mechanism, or torso repair while an A rank amount of chakra can be used for a full repair.

Orpheus's limbs have a piston design allowing him to jump higher and move more fluidly around the battlefield. Hidden in his right arm is a three-foot long drill.

Puppet Description: Isis is a long-ranged rook of the Iron Funeral set with an iron body, internal iron pipe organ set, iron joints, and the other qualities which characterize the set. Isis is exactly five feet tall and is designed to hover above the battlefield and attack from the air. She has powerful three-foot long steel wings with a sharp edge which can be used as blades not as a mechanism. Isis has two faces, her white face and her bull face. Her white face opens in order to play pipe organ music and also to release stored iron sand. Her bull face, on the other hand, opens to reveal four highly mechanized cannons which can be used with an autorotation of the head. When not firing the white face snaps forward.

The first cannon contains one hundred explosive tagged kunai that can be fired in incredibly quick succession. The second cannon fires up to twenty-five fuma shuriken with great aerodynamic efficiency. The third cannon rapid fires up to three hundred senbon in rows of five to rain over the battlefield.

Puppet Description: Juno is a bishop of the Iron Funeral set with all of the aforementioned qualities of the collection. She stands at five feet tall and has an overall insect-like design. She has two wings which she uses to fly because they can move in many directions and can be manipulated for an aerodynamic sustained flight at high speeds. With a D Rank amount of chakra channeled into the wings the puppet's weight can be fully compensated for and Juno can fly more quickly. The large sphere below her midsection opens and contains a seat. The sphere is made of one-way mirrored glass transparent from the inside allowing for full vision.

Within the sphere is a refraction variable marbles chakra device where an A Rank amount of chakra can be introduced for full cloaking making Juno invisible to the naked eye.

- Denied : Reading that didn't sit right with me and as explained by another mod: "It's basically a free doubling of the size and range of a Jutsu at the "downside" of casting it through the puppet" and I simply cannot allow this as it sits.

- • Top Palm Crystal - B-Rank Spherical Repelling Chakra Barrier
Would you mind implementing a brief cooldown on both B-rank barriers? Something that would take into effect if a barrier is broken prematurely by an opponent's attack.

The cooldowns would also be separate from the other. For instance, if the left barrier is broken, the cooldown will start, meanwhile the (if it's active) right hand is not affected by the opposite hand's cooldown.

I'm sorry too! I don't know how I overlooked that you judged Migi and Hidari. So, what I've done here to fix and rebalance them is as such:
• Top Palm Crystal now has a 3 post cooldown, separate from the other hand as suggested. I really liked that idea, to be honest. Thanks for the suggestion!
• Bottom Palm Crystal no longer magnifies the size of the ninjutsu used through it. I realize now that that was doing a lot. Heck, casting the ninjutsu from the crystal might be considered pushing it. However, if allowed, I'd be glad to just be able to use ninjutsu through my puppet. I left the drawback that any ninjutsu used through the crystal only lasts for that one post though. I think that would be a pretty fair way to balance being able to cast a technique from another angle/source.
• EDIT - Now that I better understand puppet activation policies I've modified finger mechanisms a bit.

Puppet Description: From the wrist to the tip of the middle finger, Hidari is five feet in length. The puppet is constructed almost entirely of metal, save for the crystalline chakra conduits lining its surface around the wrist, top and bottom of the palm, and each of its digits' joints and fingertips. Several "tendon" like pulleys allow the user to control how the hand tenses and relaxes. The base of the wrist is closed off by metal plating that specifically allows chakra threads to connect at certain nodes lining its surface for control of the puppet.

The crystals are chakra-sensitive, and their size and the way the were cut allows them to serve specific functions when supplied with energy from the puppeteer. Each fingertip can be activated to fire a blast of chakra in whatever way they are directed (C-rank minimum cost); the blast can be maintained in the form of a beam for up to two posts. The crystal on the back of the hand can be triggered to create a spherical barrier of B-rank chakra around itself that specifically repels anything it comes into contact with for as long as it is sustained (up to 5 posts); weaker obstacles are thrown away with significant repelling force, obstacles of equal strength negate the barrier, or the barrier is destroyed when faced with an obstacle stronger than itself; barrier cannot be reactivated for 3 posts after it has been overwhelmed. The final mechanism of the puppet is the crystal on its palm which is capable of channeling any non-physical ninjutsu technique the puppeteer wants to use, but doing so denies any used technique for lasting longer than the one post it was used in.

Alright, i'm dissecting this puppet more and more each time and finding details I should have addressed prior. Thank you for your patience.
In regards to your:

I should've have known this having dealt with the topic on my puppets, but after enlightenment on the subject it is advised that you take a step back and look into implementing fuuin jutsu.

All uses of non-kugutsu through Kugutsu devices are not permitted.

  • Fuuin, seals, on the other hand is permitted to be placed upon puppets.
  • The choice to strictly use marbles to execute ninjutsu are a very costly alternative, both chakra and ryo wise. However, in my experience, a very light combination of marbles and fuuinjutsu should work out:

Moreover, I would like to ask that if the beam can be measured, how long does it reach? Does it length very per rank? Otherwise, leaving details like that in obscurity could very well end up leading to confusion or disagreements along the way. I wouldn't want you to cut yourself short on your tools, consider something reasonable in reference to the rank of how much energy is being exerted fire a beam! (My concern comes from reading what you have and how it makes me think of a run-of-the-mill laser pointer's beam. Really good ones can reach for miles! It's wild!)

And since the beam is proposed to last for 2 posts are there any limitations attached to it? Would you feel "pay-to-play up-keep" is necessary at all? But, those last two tid-bits are just only things to think about and I don't feel they're necessary for me to hammer into as a requirement.

Also, for your benefit, I would adjust the limit on your Chakra blast cost from a a minimum of C-rank to maybe D-rank instead?. As a puppeteer, your chakra is incredibly important. Even formless moves enacted through a puppet spends chakra!

The chakra blast inflicts concussive force on whatever it collides with, vanishing on contact, and sending the obstacle flying 5ft (+5ft per additional rank) away from the impact site. The beam also inflicts concussive force, but in a continuous stream instead, bombarding the enemy if they fail to evade/escape before the end of its short duration. The crystal on the back of the hand can be triggered to create a spherical barrier of B-rank chakra around itself that specifically repels anything it comes into contact with for as long as it is sustained (up to 5 posts); weaker obstacles are thrown away with significant repelling force, obstacles of equal strength negate the barrier, or the barrier is destroyed when faced with an obstacle stronger than itself; barrier cannot be reactivated for 3 posts after it has been overwhelmed. If the puppeteer is capable of utilizing jiton (magnet release) then they can increase the range of the puppet's magnetic potency by what they are capable of with their own abilities, as well as affect any metallic substances they are able to manipulate with their current skill level.
