As the beasts surge toward them the round shields on Sentinel's forearms, each ringed with blades begin to spin at a speed that produces a loud buzzing whine. "You will fight me first!" he demands of the creatures attacking them as he raises one arm and brings the spinning shield's edge down on the closest creature, while holding the other between it and Barbie. He quickly spins back after the attack, standing between the woman and the wizard to strike at another, steps forward to jab the shield toward the one harrying toranis, and then steps back amid his friends, holding his shields out ready to cover any of them save Red, expecting the swordmage to be capable of handling himself.

((Minor action to enter the stalwart guard stance, all allies gain a +2 bonus to Ac and ref while adjacent to me, in addition to the +1 shield bonus i'm already giving (in case any of those attacks VS Red or Barbie hit by 1). Then Storm of blows +22 vs AC on G3, G8 and G7, shifting SE, E, W after each respective attack. Any not hit are marked. Then I will activate my foe stone, to determine the vulnerabilities and lowest defense of these things.))

So this is probably going to take like, a week per round eh?

So one or two months to get through a single battle. So the 5 or 6 battles a group would usually get through in a single session at a table would take a year to get through on a forum.

Play by post is a lot slower than I imagined ninja It must be impossible to run an adventure like this without it falling apart halfway through

You guys might consider using Gametable or something similar for future games.

Actually, all forum games aren't this slow. It just depends on the circumstances of those playing. The main advantage of forums over "real time" ways of playing is that it allows for people with conflicting or changing schedules to still play together.

((As a heads up Reev, when I opened my character sheet, I realized I forgot to include the Enhancement bonus to my AC from my armor. I upped it, but I'm willing to keep the damage I already took regardless of what you rolled. Sorry sweatdrop ))

"Enjoy your pound of flesh, beastie. Have another! It's your last chance." he would say, not shifting and provoking an opportunity attack from G7, he would begin to crackle with energy, before unleashing the fury of HIS elemental powers... well, into the entirety of the room, filling the ceiling with stormclouds.

Raising his staff high, the dwarf would swing it downward, summoning forth a symphony of lightning to strike anyone and anything he did not regard as a companion. Starting with the biggest one.

Ideally, it could go as fast as a round a day, but this requires activity from everyone participating. A round in a week isn't unreasonable. Two months for one battle is a bit of a stretch. True, it is a lot slower, but adventure cohesion is dependent primarily on the dedication of the participants, which is a truism for any campaign. A good DM can keep the pace up to keep everyone engaged, and replace PCs who fall by the wayside. I've been running Keep on the Shadowfell since 4e launched and we're about two-thirds through now.

[ I'd hardly call 2 days, a week or one or two months. This battle will take longer than most do on a pbp format because... well - I designed it to take time, so you have more time to play with powers. ;p

Anyway - I'll be posting soon (within 3 hours). I just have a few things I need to do first.

However.. I ask that everyone please start separating OOC in a recognizable manner, since the game has been started now. For those that aren't in any of my games.. Dark red between []'s is what I do. >.> ]
