Sometimes it's hard when you have an idea of what you want to doll... but most of the time is spent looking for a base that fits what you're thinking of. whee And sometimes you don't want to try making the base yourself... because 1) you don't have the time to make one or 2) you suck at making them.
Not that I'm saying I suck at making bases... I do pretty good. Though it's a rare occasion if I do make my own.
I just want to find a base and doll on it. I don't feel like making a base right now.

It's sort of interesting how when you're in a romantic mood... whether it's during a crush stage or when you're in a relationship... you doll romantic scenes more. But when there's no events going on in the romance department in your life, it seems you doll less romantic dolls.
Or at least... that's how it seems when I've looked over the dolls I've done in the past.

My OC Irene got a modification to her outfit. Originally I had her wearing a dress with a jacket over it. While I was content with it at the time, I was always wanting to make a better outfit for her. And now I've done it. Just needed to get rid of the jacket and take inspiration from one of the dresses that Irene Adler (the female character from Sherlock Holmes) wears. sweatdrop Why did it take me so long to figure that out? *sighs* Oh well.

This base totally fits the image I had in my mind. You have the romantic aspect between the two... but still contains the refined, good-mannered appearance of the time period... biggrin
I ended up saving the base to my computer, because I had a feeling I would end up using it sometime again in the future for whatever future couples I decide to design. 3nodding

*finishes doll*
biggrin
I think I've done pretty good with dolling Sherlock Holmes for the past few times I've dolled him. 3nodding Especially considering his hair is ruffled and he has a stubble on his chin. I usually don't have to doll stuff like that.
