I shall submit a poem of my own writing. ^^' Minute After Minute, Day After DayAs I sat in the darkness, the Mighty Orchestra played. they played minute after minute, day after day, while I sat in silence. As the Orchestra played, I watched the fire in their eyes grow bigger Minute after minute, day after day, untill it engulfed their weak souls. As I sat in my chair gazing at the orchestra, the smell of burning dreams filling my nostrils, I remebered my own dreams, the ones I made for Her, my only beloved. Slowly, I arose from my nightmarish slumber, and looked around, noticing the orchestra, their souls completely engulfed in flames. I tried to escape the horrid stench, but I was shackled to their life, and forced to watch the orchestra get up. Slowly, they began to drench my soul in their hidious passion. Then with a demonic grin on their faces, they set my soul ablaze and watched as Minute after minute, day after day, I suffered the same fate that they had.

first time I've considered something for here . . .
how about a collection of films that are thought provoking, "The Man from Earth" would be one such film . . . it required no fancy shots, action sequences, cg, special effects, it's a group of people sitting around a fireplace listening to a story that is so intriguing it makes you feel like you're there, you want to ask questions as well . . . even though it's a movie . . .
so i propose finding a select few movies of this sort where that common special effects are thrown out, where the chase scenes and shoot outs are gone where the absurd is gone, but rather thought provoking movies that pull you in stronger than most . . .

Well, since now people started posting again, I'll submit the one human's achievement I think... I know that is the most important ever:
Yes, it's quite simple: the fire, the power to control fire. Without it mankind wouldn't be what it is now-a-days, it made possible any other achievements.

People ar submitting elements now.
Consider that man did not create fire, it was already in the universe and we just found it. I don't think it falls under a beatiful creation of mankind.
I feel the same about many types of photography. We didn't make it; we found it.
@ @ I do not feel like submitting something.

I guess that if you could read correctly you would see that I didn't write it's a man's creation, but an achievement wink And if you stop to think a little harder, mankind didn't create anything, everything was already in the universe wink One more thing to the enlightenment of yours: fire isn't an element, sodium is, as is calcium and other "letters" that you can find in the periodic table wink

Actually, saying that mankind did not create anything is false. We start out with raw materials, and use them to build things up, and sometimes use the things we already pre built, to make other things. Ah. I know the letters. I wasn't talking about scientific elements. Water, or air aren't elements either, they're compounds.

And that is transforming, not creating wink Oh! You know they are not elements. Good.

-nods- And I agree. Does a photo of a puddle really count as an achievment?
