When Solai's net came back teeming with silverfish, he couldn't help the soft sigh of relief that escaped him. It took a few extra pairs of hands to make sure his precious cargo got safely hauled up onto the dock, but he was more than happy about it--he wasn't quite sure whether it was luck or not, to be honest, although that didn't matter much in the long run. The important thing was that they had more fish now, and that meant more to eat!

Aurizore had had a good idea earlier, and A'zan had certainly taken notice--he reasoned it wouldn't be a bad idea to try something similar himself, and when he began to find more and more shellfish, he knew he'd made the right choice. By the end of it, he'd scraped together a respectable amount of foraged bivalves and the like, and he was feeling rather good about it the entire walk back.

Sulesh didn't fancy his chances with the nets. After wrestling with one for the past five minutes to remove the snag from his prosthetic leg, he'd decided it might be a good idea to try his luck elsewhere--and he'd clearly made the right decision, judging by the swarm of spiderclaws still milling about the sand. Perfect.

The entire time Rosik was reeling in her net, she was positively cackling--from the first glimpse of silverfish she'd caught just below the waves, she knew this was going to be a good haul. When her suspicions were proven correct, she cheered, glad to see that at least something had gone right with their efforts today.

Zh'gan had lived at Western all his life. As a result, he knew how to swim. Knowing how to swim meant nothing when you got tangled up in a net, though. Then, a sort of panic could set in, making you flail like helpless idiot until someone else fished you out of the water and peeled off the net that you were definitely going to have to fix, thank you very much.

The sound of aggressive peeping had distracted him from his scavenging, leaving G'ren just a bit confused before he finally found the source--a little Green, still shiny and tired from having hatched, and very much demanding some kind of snack from him. It would be such a shame to leave this little darling alone, he thought; she was just a baby, after all, and he couldn't tell if the rest of her clutch was anywhere nearby. It didn't take long for him to make up his mind, unsurprisingly. He'd already been rummaging through his pockets for one of his midday snacks by the time she'd begun climbing on him, and he wasted no more time in handing her a few pieces of jerky.

S'ven knew his chances with fishing directly weren't good. With his luck, he'd go tumbling into the water like everyone else, or slice his hand open in the process, or--really all manner of assorted mishaps, judging by what he'd seen on the way out here. As a result, the Bronzerider favored a different approach, going for an equally different quarry as well. With everyone going after fish and meat, they'd need some sort of greens to bolster that, right? Surely his haul would be appreciated somewhere.

Belsheveth's sheer size surely came in handy right now--T'shal had been wrestling against this net for the past few minutes, having barely managed to see the packtails writhing within through the breaking waves. He knew this was going to be a difficult pull, and knew exactly who he needed to call. His dragon made the whole process easy, with the Bronze simply shoving the net onto dry land as if it weighed nothing at all.

Ciraine had no idea what to do with this thing now that she had it. It had taken her a solid thirty seconds to even ascertain that it had been a boot at all, once upon a time--between the slime, twisted spurs of driftwood, tangles of kelp, and whatever else had clung to this wretched thing over the years, it had certainly altered the general profile of its core item. Grimacing, she looked around for a few moments to see if anyone was watching--the first thought she had was to simply throw it back in, but after a few more moments of consideration, she reasoned that wouldn't be such an excellent option. Somebody else might catch it all over again, and then they'd be right back where they started. She'd just...have to get rid of this thing on her own, then. The thought was not a fun one.

If he didn't need to get in the water, given that the waves weere taking out people who were ordinarily almost as sure of themselves as N'kin, the bluerider wasn't going in. Instead he grabbed buckets and filled them with spiderclaws as quickly as he could without losing fingers or toes. He could eat pretty well, he fifgured, if the kitches whipped up big batches of spiderclaw stew.
