Brian and Purr both watched with baited breath as the Pokeball hit the Nosepass on the head and sucked her inside in a flash of red light. The ball shook, once, twice, three times, before it finally stopped moving and pinged, signifying a successful capture. Brian let out the breath he was holding, giving Purr a big smile as he walked over and picked up the Pokeball that contained his new Nosepass. "Well done, Purr!" Brian said, giving the Psychic-type a few pets on the head for a job well done. "I'm going to leave Nosepass in her Pokeball for now, until we can find that medallion we're supposed to take back to the Academy." The Espurr nodded, and Brian picked her up and placed her back on his shoulder, where she sat with a grateful sigh, slightly worn out from the battle.
The group would be so close to the edge of the snowy area when a Snorunt would literally jump directly in front of the Rhyhorn hopping up and down angrily. He had heard of this group and well.... he was ready to battle! He was here to show them this area was not something they could just come and destroy pokemon in. They had come, skinned a poor bear pokemon...and even worse had eaten him! All because he had wanted to play tag! Enraged, there was a manic glee in the Snorunt's gaze showing that he was not altogether there...if you know what I mean. It would seem this pokemon was definitely crazy.....
The Dwebble saw the trainer and his pokemon and decided quite quickly that the best thing for him to do was scamper off. There was no battle to be had here, this pokemon took off at full speed towards freedom and left them quickly behind as he digs himself into the sand to hide himself.

The two pokemon would glare at the icy pokemon. They were this close to leaving this area, and here came another contender.
Why?
It made no sense.
The boy would sit up a bit straighter to look at the pokemon. He could see the manic glint to the pokemon's eyes and he would sigh openingly.
"I can't possible negotiated a way out of this can I?"
Mizuki would ask as the Rhyhorn would snort. Kovu wasn't as kind as he growls at the pokemon.
((Move, we have had enough of these cold lands))
Atiena on his back would only fluffy out her feathers a bit as she would transfer herself from Kovu's back to the area underneath Mizuki's hood.

She would chirp. She had done enough in this cold climate to last a lifetime.
Brian and Purr continued walking out of the desert area, wondering if they might see any other Pokemon. They did see one Dwebble, but as the Bug/Rock-type saw them, he bolted toward freedom before burrowing himself in the sand to hide. Brian chuckled at the sight. "It would seem Dwebble's not all that interested in a battle, eh, Purr?" he said. The gray cat nodded, smiling at the sight, then turned her attention back to the trail, making sure nothing dangerous would jump out at them.
When the Rhyhorn told the Snorunt to move, the grin on the Snorunt's face grew even wider. This kept getting better and better. ">How about a big no....nope...nada?<" the Snorunt said before sticking out his tongue and blowing a big wet slobbery raspberry at the rock pokemon. The ice pokemon began to resume hopping up and down again impatiently. It was ready to start the fight...why was the other pokemon taking so long? This was no fun?!
The Snorunt didn't look phased in the least when the Rhyhorn had said he was the guardian of the area. To be honest here on the island, guardians changed all the time. Battles were won and lost... it didn't always make too much of a difference especially not to him. The pokemon wasn't concerned. The crackling of electricity made the ice pokemon cackle. Oh so the rock pokemon did have some nice surprises up his rhetorical sleeve. Good...oh so good. The manic look in the Snorunt's eyes seemed to increase almost tenfold. But oh did he have a surprise for him as well! He would lunge forward ready to try and Disable the very move the pokemon was trying to hit him with!
Hp: -3 It was a mistake to simply use disable, because when the attack failed the pokemon themselves was wide open. Especially considering that the Rhyhorn had no reason to lose any momentum by trying to dodge a incoming blow or steady himself to take a hit.
Nope, those crushing jaws would clamp shut on the pokemon's body as the pokemon shook the Snorunt once in his jaws and then threw him away into the ground as the electricity crackled through his teeth.
With the strength of a trainer being him, this battle was over in a single shot.
Mizuki almost scoffed at this as he walked over and put one hand on the stony hide of his partner.
Brian continued to walk through the scorching wasteland, hoping that no more Pokemon would jump out at him. Purr was at full health, but tired from the battle with Nosepass, and Nosepass wasn't at full health, but recovering somewhat in her Pokeball. If he had to, he would call Nosepass out and use a potion on her, but he preferred not to have to do that. However, he definitely wouldn't mind adding another friend to the team, despite the fact that he only had one Pokeball left.
With one hit the Snorunt had been knocked clearly unconscious. It would seem they were free to continue onward.
Sweltering Steam Field
Coming down from the mountain, you find yourself in a rather unusual setting. The ground before you is cracked yet thick with moisture, rocks piled high and caked with mud in the strangest shapes. A whistling hits your ears, and a moment later a jet of steam belts out from a hole in the rock. One after the steam vents itself into the open air, releasing a sweltering mist over the area. Best watch your step if you don't fancy learning what a steamed vegetable feels like, and one can only imagine what sort of Pokemon would willingly call this place home...
"From frozen water to boiling water, just my luck."
Mizuki would declare with a bit of a huff as he tries to clear his ears. The explosion of water had shocked him and the change in the altitude had his ears popping horribly. This was not a nice place, and with a sigh he would look at Kovu.
He was asking for trouble if he tried to travel through here riding his bulky friend. The ground was unstable and there was no telling when a gush of water might explode from the ground.
He would take no risk with his pokemon.
"This isn't a good place for you. I can't help wondering how you managed to get to that snowy mountain to begin with, but I can definitely see why you didn't high tail it out of there.
If you managed to get through this once, I wouldn't want to go back though this again."
The boy sighed as he would recall him.
"Thanks for the ride."
The he would flip back his hood. The change in climate meant he wasn't as cold as before, so he reaches up to rub Atiena's feathers.
"It's just you and me again for now."
The Murkrow would actually chirp her happiness at the change and with that the boy was off.
A good way to keep one from thinking about impending doom was to sing a little song, but in this case, Mizuki simply went with humming one. The ground here wasn't dusty but wasn't completely muddy either. It was a mixture of the two that was a bit strange, the ground was solid and hard, but it was also wet enough the he knew he would have mud on his feet.
Yet, the mud wasn't deep enough to let him sink in it.
It was strange to think he came from a place of ice and snow just a moment again to reach a place that was getting to become a bit more like a steam bath. Though the boy wasn't complaining as he hummed a bit. It was helping to get his toes and fingers nice and warm, and through it wouldn't completely dry out his clothing it was a huge improvement over the shivering cold he dealt with before.
Mizuki would actually sneeze suddenly.
The change in temperature might be effecting his health a little.
One promise he made himself, when they got back to the academy he was going to lock himself on his island a sleep for a full day.
The idea of it was glorious as he continued to hum his tone with Atiena actually joining in now and again.
Brian was sure that this desert wasteland would be the end of him. It was sweltering hot, and Purr was beginning to pant a bit, not unlike her trainer. It's a good thing I wore short sleeves, he thought. Otherwise, I'd have overheated a long time ago in this heat. Indeed, the glaring sun wasn't doing much to help his mood, though he refused to complain. He'd been through worse than a little heat, by far, living on the streets since he was a child. Oh, well. Chin up, chest out, and keep on trucking.
Bury up to it's nose in the sand, was a Nosepass that seemed to be doing nothing but baking it's brain. Yet, the pokemon took one look at Brian as he was walking by and started to spin ..around and around and around again.
It's nose acting like an arrow was pointing in my different directions as it called out to the boy.
"NOSE..PASS...NOSEPASS...NOSE!"
(Spin, Spin, Spin, Spin ...everyone wins, but will it be a prize to make you smile or will it make you cry. Come forth, come all, and make me stop to see what prize you will win!)
Purr could understand perfectly what the Nosepass was saying, and it was up to her to make Brian understand so that they can play the game. Or, they could simply continue onwards and let the Nosepass continue to spin away.
