It was so comfortable sitting here with Spirit and Loofah, that she felt like she was almost going to fall asleep. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that would be a very bad idea. Before making any move to get up, however, Berrie reached into her bag and pulled out another one of the Grepa berries. Once more, she fed the berry to her Eevee, stroking its back and humming a soft tune as it ate. So as not to feel left out, Berrie also got out a small container of pokemon food and gave a piece to Loofah. The little frog croaked excitedly and held the morsel in both hands as it nibbled at it. She waited until both had finished their little snacks before lifting Spirit up into her arms and getting up from the side of the fountain. Loofah, of course, was still perched on her shoulder and playfully blowing small bubbles out every few seconds, croaking afterwards in a manner that suggested she was laughing. "Come on," Cerbera said, "We should be going, or we won't reach the next town before nightfall."[-

Dom kept a steady, even stride as he left laboratory and didn't stop until he had left the building, and of Vaniville's civilization, behind. His feet slowed to a stop when pavement was replaced by the uneven, grassy terrain of the route between the two towns. It was only then did he even bother to glance down at his pocket, where his pokeballs resides, and pulled them out. With one press of a button he expanded the red and white orbs, with the next he actually opened it and allowed his two newest pokemon out into the open.
"Yo," he greeted the duo indolently, just barely holding back a yawn as he did so. Fennekin blinked slowly in the sun before he actually yawned and stretched his body out. Once that was out of his system he took the initiative to approach the human who, he could only assume, was his trainer. He sniffed at his shoes and then sneezed. Chespin had a more.. active greeting, she puffed her chest out and jammed her hands onto her hips before she gave a hearty, "chesp!"
Dom kept his expression neutral, whatever opinion he had of the two he kept to himself. Fully aware of their appearances he sat himself down onto the ground and slipped his headphones back over his head, the screech of a guitar the first thing he heard before the singer's voice kicked in. He could actually feel the curiosity waning from their looks, quick to be replaced by confusion, but he had to wait for the rest of his team to reconvene, or well.. the half of his team that he had with him. Damn, splitting from Team Aqua had really put his pokemon in disarray. This was exactly what you got when you didn't plan your resignation from an infamous criminal group.
"You can explore, but don't go out of my sight," he instructed above his music before he shifted himself to become comfortable. The two starters shared a look before Fennekin quickly padded over to Dominik and laid himself down beside him. The male quirked an eyebrow but held his tongue. Chespin, on the other hand, actually took advantage of the little freedom she'd suddenly been granted and charged forward into the open glass, arms extended.

Dom kept an eye out for both his pokemon, the ones that had yet to arrive and Chespin who was still prancing about in the grass. He was fully aware that that was where wild pokemon usually lived, but he also knew that the pokemon around here were extremely weak; if Chespin got into any sort of trouble she would be able to handle herself, probably. His eye twitched at the mere probability that she wouldn't and instantly he shot up, Fennekin raising himself to his paws as well. "Oi!" he shouted above his music and watched as the rustling of the grass came to an abrupt stop. "Get out of there, I can't see you."
There was a squeak in return, Chespin's recognition of his command, before the starter came charging out, bits of grass flecked across her body, and skidded to a stop right in front of Dom. She saluted him, little tail wagging, before promptly flopping down right beside Fennekin. The trainer nodded sharply, content with this, and went back to his silent search, this time turning his attention to the tree tops.
"This is exciting, isn't it!" Chespin crowed, her attention now on her silent fox friend. They'd come from the same lab, they'd seen each other before, if it weren't for the fact that they'd... never once even held a conversation why, they could be the best of friends! "It's..." Fennekin found himself at a loss for words and trailed off, his eyes scrolling up over to their new trainer. "Don't you think it's a bit strange? We're just sitting here... not doing anything." He laid his chin down onto his paws. "Yeah, it's a bit weird," Chespin agreed, "but we're probably just waiting for something, or someone, it's bound to be exciting! All we have to do is wait."

And so they waited, and waited... and waited, during that time two more tracks played through and his two pokemon grew more acquainted with each other. Dom was halfway through his fourth song, with his mind already made up that after it finished he'd go out looking for his team himself, when from the tree directly above him a small face poked itself from out of the foliage. His eyes instantly shifted upwards towards the movement before he scoffed, "it's about time," he muttered and sat up once more, pausing his music and pulling his headphones down from his ears.
Fennekin and Chespin watched as Dom pulled himself to his feet, arm bending backwards to rub the back of his neck. He rolled his shoulder but didn't lower it back down, instead keeping it up just in time for an Aipom to land squarely on it, its sudden entrance startling Fennekin and spurring Chespin to erupt into a smattering of applause. Dom kept his expression casual, taking from the simian's hands the egg he'd been carrying and tucking it underneath his left arm. "What took you so long?" he inquired, a light amount of irritation in his tone. "Aipom," the monkey replied evenly before the hand-like extremity unfolded to reveal a small pot.
Dom didn't look surprised, in fact he almost looked disappointed. Without a word he took the incense and put it away, eyes flickering back to his companion after it'd been safely tucked away into his bag. "That's all? C'mon Al, I expected better from you." Al sneered, showing teeth, before he hopped off his trainer's shoulder and scampered back up the tree, this time returning with two discs and a crown situated atop his head. Dom accepted those items with a more positive attitude, the corner of his mouth twitching with the hint of a smile. "Good job."
He accepted Al back, who made himself comfortable by sitting down, legs thrown casually over his shoulder while his tail draped over his other shoulder. He looked down to the new pokemon with the same, blank expression his trainer had given him before he turned his attention down to the egg Dom held so casually in his grip. "Don't worry," he dismissed his silent concern with a wave of his hand before he used both hands to take a firmer grip on it. "I've got this." That was all Al needed to hear, apparently, before he looked out further along the route, where the next town lay. Now that he was here, it was about time they got moving.
Dom nodded and without another word began moving, stopping once only to give a backwards glance to Fennekin and Chespin. "Keep up," was all he said before he started walking again. "We'll do introductions on our way to the next town."

Chale exited the lab and tossed her Pokeball up into the air, releasing her new Fennekin in a flash of bright light. "Fenn!" the small fox called out, before blinking up at her new trainer.
Chale studied the fox for a moment, before bending down to get a closer look. "I'll call you 'Rune'," she decided with a grin. The Fennekin mewed with a smile in reply, her little tail wagging slowly. She seemed to flinch as Chale stood back up, and Chale frowned a bit. She'd gotten a skittish one? Great... Just great.... Letting out a sigh, she glanced around before walking down the street to a shop. "Better keep up, Rune," she suggested over her shoulder as she continued. The fox jumped up, ears folded back, and darted after her trainer. She wasn't sure what to think of the blue-haired girl, but so far hoped it would get better...
Chale walked into the nearest shop and purchased some Ultra Balls, three different TMs that sounded interesting to her, a Soothe Bell, and a few different berries. While she picked these items up, Rune followed closely to her heels, keeping sure to stay out of everyone's way. At one point, as Chale was paying, a large group of people came in to look around. Rune hid from them, practically sitting on Chale's feet. The girl didn't seem to mind, as she didn't move or anything, and it made Rune feel a little more comfortable with her as a trainer.
Chale shopped around at a few more stores, finding an interesting fossil at an antique store. Recognizing the pattern, she bought it and grinned, staring down at her prize. Omanyte...! She hoped there would be enough DNA to revive it. She glanced over to the lab - it was a ways down now... And with all the foot traffic around, it would take a while to get there. Grinning, she put her fossil in her bag and exited the antique shop, headed back towards the lab.

The plum trainer had long departed from the Professor's lab and opted out of the usual taxi ride. She figured she would feel more comfortable traveling on foot, and getting to know her own way around. The journey seemed a bit lonesome and all too quiet for the lass, so she had decided to bring out one of her team for a bit of fresh air. After picking through her pokeballs for a second, Wren had wrapped her fingers around the last Pokeball of her set of six. The ball belonged to Riolu, who seemed to be radiating with energy as of late. "Come on out, friend," Wren spoke as she held the ball outward. The red energy that had burst forth from the small Pokeball had materialized into her teammate, Riolu. Riolu gave a short greeting upon seeing his trainer, Wren. His trainer gestured down the path towards Vaniville town and he happily followed along beside her, excited for their destination.

Wren and Riolu had reached the small rural town in a matter of a couple of hours. The adventure here had been an extremely interesting one. She had literally stumbled across some new treasures and even caught a bizarre new Pokemon, but it would have to go to her storage, for she had no more room for another Pokemon friend. For now, she would explore the town and maybe run into another trainer or a wild pokemon to battle.

Out of the corner of her eye, Chale saw a shadow moving between the buildings. Pausing, she glanced to see an Umbreon nosing through the trash. It looked too thin, tail lowered as it sniffed through the bags and cans. There was no telling which gender it was. She moved towards it, eyes locked on the ringed shadow Pokemon. Rune followed, cautious, though her ears perked in her curiosity. She glanced up at Chale every now and again, wondering what she would do.
Chale was within throwing distance when the cook came out of the side door in the alley and noticed the Pokemon. He cursed in what sounded like French as he threw some bottles and other trash at the Eeveelution. One of them hit the malnurished Umbreon, and it turned to leave the alley in a panic, but stopped when it saw Chale. She had a Pokeball in her hand by then, and tossed it at the Pokemon. When the Pokeball had finished its capture, she picked it up and released it from its ball in a flash of white light.

The Umbreon blinked, its head lowered as it looked up at Chale. The blue-haired girl knelt down, studying it for a moment, while Rune stepped forward to sniff it. While the two got acquainted, Chale took out her Pokedex.
Umbreon, the Moonlight Pokemon. An evolved form of Eevee. When exposed to the moon’s aura, the rings on its body glow faintly and it’s filled with a mysterious power.
Chale frowned as she flipped through the different information on Umbreon. Didn't it evolve with trust? Poor thing looked half dead, standing in front of her. She took her bag off her shoulder and began to dig through it, finding a anything that might have helped. Potions... Yeah, that might. She set a couple aside and searched for any food she might have. A few berries... But none that would help, she thought. She would have to stick with the Potions for now, and feed him later. "Come here," she told the Umbreon softly. "It'll sting, but it'll help," she warned him. The Umbreon padded closer to her, head still hanging, but he nodded and stayed still. He whimpered when she sprayed the medicine on his cuts, but he did feel a little better afterwards. "We'll have to find you some food. Both of you," she added, including Rune in the plans. The little fire fox mewed in reply, perking up in excitement for something to eat. Chale grinned and turned back to the Umbreon. "I think I'll call you Artemis... Can you walk?" It he thought for a moment, but nodded, and followed her as she started walking, looking for some sort of grocery store for Pokemon food.

The train ride from Pallet Town to Vaniville was relatively uneventful. Once again Vince spent most of his time sitting still and listening to the sound of wind rushing by. He found it rather relaxing, unlike Xiu Feng, who continued to sit a little too attentively much to Vince's displeasure. His new charmander sat at the seat across from them, staring at Vince as if she were trying to figure him out. She wasn't quite sure what to think of him yet. His methods were certainly confusing.... But effective. She certainly wanted to get stronger just to prove him wrong, but why be so mean about it? Why didn't he want to be friends? Wasn't that what the relationship between pokemon and trainer was all about? The mixed feelings were still turning about in her mind and heart by the time their train had reached it's destination. Vince stood, adjusting his bag motioned for his pokemon to move on ahead while he followed close behind. Stepping off of the train, the two pokemon were awed by the beautiful little town. Even Vince seemed rather impressed by the natural beauty. He took in a deep breath and gave a light smile. "Mm, one can really breathe out here." He commented. "Pup. Lu lupup." ('Yeah. The air sure smells fresh and clean.') She commented, though more as an aside to their charmander companion since it wasn't like Vince was going to understand a word she said. "Char..." ('Yeah...') She breathed. She had never really seen or been much anywhere else other than the lab in Pallet Town up until now, so seeing something so different and beautiful in it's own right was quite amazing to her.

The ride from Nuvema to Vaniville was, thankfully, uneventful. Aside from accidentally taking a picture of herself while cleaning the camera lenses, it was quiet and no one bothered her. Once the train came to a stop in Vaniville, Cheria grabbed her bag and softly poked Lupup to wake him up. "Come on, Lupup. Time to get going." He refused to wake up, giving a little bark. Cheria shook her head and picked Lupup up. Sheena followed her trainer from the train, a little disappointed in Lupup. But, it was fine.
Stepping off the train, Cheria gave a smile. "It feels great to be home!""Fro~!" As Cheria walked away from the train, she was sort of pushed by the crowd and ended up against someone. Glancing up, Cheria tensed. At least she wasn't panicking? This journey had been full of bumping into a men, it wasn't even a shock anymore. Still scary, though, an this guy was a bit intimidating. But, was that a...Lupup with him? "I....Uh....S-Sorry." As intimidated as she was, seeing another Lupup distracted her enough to where she could speak without freaking out.

While Vince stood at the station and admired the small town's beauty, another train pulled into the station, this one far more crowded than his had been. Vince turned towards the crowd of people stepping off the train with mild curiosity. "Huh... Wonder where that train came from." He mused. Wherever it had come from, it must have been a busy area. The presence of so many people disrupted the quiet and peaceful town unfortunately, not to mention it set Xiu Feng on edge as the wave of humans passed by. Vince watched out of sheer curiosity, wondering just how many people had been on this train. As the crowd began to dissipate however, he felt a light nudge from behind. He turned slightly with an irritated look, half expecting that Li Yu had popped out of her pokeball to try and play with him, but instead he was greeted with an apology from a small wisp of a girl. It was no wonder he'd barely felt anything, given their size difference. Vince's expression relaxed. "It's fine." He dismissed shortly, looking disapprovingly at Xiu Feng as she began to growl at the girl for running into her ward. "Bù, Xiu Feng." He commanded, however the sea green pokemon in Cheria's arms caused both him and Xiu to double take.
"That is...." He blinked. "A lupup.... It allows you to hold it?" He asked, rather surprised, and justifiably so, given what he knew of Lupup's nature. Of course his family was somewhat of an exception, given their history with the species, but that didn't mean he was oblivious to their typical nature. "Pup!" ('Hey!') Xiu Feng barked in greeting, her tail wagging. It wasn't often she got to see another of her kind that wasn't from the Yazi Clan circle. Vince's charmander was rather lost among the exchanges, being rather new to Vince's team in general and not really knowing what the big deal was about a lupup letting it's trainer hold it. She moved over to Xiu Feng and gave her a curious look. "Char, chamander...?" ('Sorry, what's going on...?') She asked. "Lupup. Lu lupup, lupup lu." ('Humans are an untrustworthy kind. I consider my species to be a good judge of character, so the fact that another Lupup accepts this human is kind of surprising, for both of us.') Xiu Feng summarized, casually scratching behind her ear with her hind leg.

Well, at least she hadn't upset him. His Lupup, Xiu Feng, was not pleased. Her own looked down at his growling counterpart. What was her problem? Bumping into people was expected when traveling. If she didn't know that, then she should have stayed in whatever hole she came from. Attention snagged by the two's surprise at him, Cheria tilted her head. "Er....Y-Yes, he does. I...can also pet him and train him and....Well, you get it. Why is that a surprise?" She knew close to nothing about Lupup. E was told they were picky with their trainers, but she didn't think it'd be odd if they let people hold them. Looking down at the other Lupup, Cheria smiled a bit. "Why don't you play, Lupup? It's not often we run into your own kind." Lupup gave a snort and jumped down, going over to sit behind her legs. He wasn't shy, though. Just not interested? Man. Here she was hoping to see how he interacted with another Lupup. "You're being rude, as usual.""No, I'm just not interested. She's the rude one, growling at my Cheria like she was some sort of thug over an honest accident." What was with Cheria? She was afraid of guys, wasn't she? Why was she not running off? Unless the other Lupup was distracting her. "So....You know about Lupup then?"

Vince blinked in surprise as Cheria explained to him her lupup as if it were any other pokemon. "It is quite surprising actually...." He murmured, shifting slightly to tug down at the sleeve of his left jacket arm to cover up the tattoo beneath. "I have studied the lupup species extensively, yes." He explained. It wasn't exactly a lie, but it wasn't the whole truth either. "Lupup are naturally wary towards all humans. It is surprising that you talk of yours as if it never once acted aggressively towards you." He explained. "It is quite rare for immediate acceptance." He concluded, glancing to Xiu Feng, who seemed upset that the other lupup for some reason. "Lupup. Lupup lu. Pup? Lupup!" ('Humans are not to be trusted. That is a law that we have all lived by. Or have you forgotten your roots? She very well could have been trying to attack him!') Xiu Feng barked angrily. What kind of lupup was this? Clearly not of her kin, or at least not purebred. No lupup would judge another for distrusting a human. Vince grimaced as Xiu Feng kept barking. "That is enough, Xiu Feng." He warned.
The young lupup huffed and heel turned away from the bunch of them. ('Whatever. If you want to openly trust humans then go ahead. Just know that when your precious Cheria is hurt because of your lax guard, it is your burden to bear. I on the other hand would never allow such a thing to happen. No human will come close to my ward without my allowance of it.') Xiu Feng grumbled. Vince looked to Cheria somewhat apologetically. "You see to which I am referring?" He gestured to Xiu Feng. "Though it is not just her. Most lupup are this way until their trust is earned. It is simply part of them." He sighed. "Are you headed north?" He asked in an almost indifferent tone, stepping down off the station and gesturing towards the route to Aquacorde. "I'm looking to go to Lumiose City, so if you have any questions regarding your lupup, I could answer them if you're headed in the same direction." He offered with a shrug. Whether she accompanied him or not, he didn't mind either way. He was really just asking out of courtesy, since she seemed interested in the subject and he was going to head to Aquacorde regardless of her answer. Aside from that, she had just stepped off the train, north was really the only direction to go unless she was planning on boarding another one, which he doubted.
