Mimey beamed as the two trainers, boggled, tried to recover from the shock. It was like seeing a... surfing Charizard or something... "Hehe, yup! Tod ate this weird mushroom, and now his moveset is a little odd!" she reported, then paused, eyes widening, before a grin crossed her face, "Hey! 'Odd Tod'!" she rhymed, giggling over the bad nickname. The two girls clearly didn't appreciate the humor-- they were still marveling over a flying Dewott, and simply exchanged looks to see if either understood what Mimey meant. It seemed neither did, and the second girl shook her head, trying to displace the awe for the time being.
"Okay, well... We're.... We're gonna go get our friends and see if they'll help you guys train, alright?" she suggested, jerking her thumb back over her shoulder. Mimey stopped her giggling and perked up, giving a nod as the two girls left. "Do you think they're going to just get a couple of way strong trainers to try and defeat us?" Tod asked, frowning dubiously, both over the prospect, and, admittedly, in disapproval over Mimey's little extra 'nickname'. "I dunno! I--""No." Both looked over in surprise as Scy spoke, his head slightly bowed, gaze set forward. Even Gail quirked her head curiously at the pokemon, and Jesse glanced up, but all the pokemon turned as the two girls returned just a few moments later, a couple of guys tagging along, one of them looking at the two skeptically as they approached.
"Hey you guys! We brought our friends to help you train," the girl explained, grinning and placing a hand on the skeptical one's shoulder, "This is Trent-- that one is Brian. I'm Anja and this is Laurel, by the way. Trent as a team juuuuuust like Laurel did!" She gave a playful wink, which only made her friend turn his narrow gaze more on her, but Mimey seemed to catch on. "Perfect! Thank you for being willing to battle us!" she chirped, giving a bow to the two boys, who both blinked. Brian reflexively flinched and rubbed his temple a bit, a perplexed and disconcerted expression crossing his face at her voice entering his ehad.
"Uh, sure...." Trent muttered, still frowning. Mimey turned slightly, lifting her hands to her mouth. "Hey Jaaaade! Your turn to battle!" she called, glancing over, and smiling as Trent sent out a Pidgey, still fixing Anja with a suspicious stare. "What?" she asked him, now grinning at him. He opened his mouth to respond, but Brian smacked his shoulder, jerking his chin to direct his friend's gaze when he received an annoyed glare in response. Trent shifted, following, then raising his eyebrows. "Whoa..." both watched Jade as she prowled towards them, having emerged from the ground. "What the hell is it?" he muttered. "Dunno..." his friend muttered, pulling out his pokedex.
"Meleeon; The Riot Pokemon," his pokedex read. "Meleeon, I guess...""A relatively new discovery, this particular Eeveelution went unnoticed largely due to the method through which it's evolution is achieved by an Eevee. Meleeon is a breakthrough in the studies of Eevee's genetic makeup, being one of the first dual typed Eeveelutions to be discovered. These territorial pokemon are nocturnal, and therefore more aggressive at night. There've been isolated reports in the past--" Brian turned the auto on his pokedex off, both looking at Jade just as she crouched down and then leaped forward, attacking Trent's Pidgey. "Whoa!""s**t! Pidgey, use Quick Attack!" The fast response was just fast enough, and Pidgey darted away from Jade, then shot back at her, hitting, well.... sort of hard. Jade gave one shake of her head then grabbed onto the bird's wing with her teeth, biting down. The bird pokemon cried out, jerked itself free, and leaped back, then went in for another attack. Jade tried to keep up, and again, after the attack, leaped out to Bite again, this time chomping down hard, and then tossing the bird back at its trainer, unconscious.

Sebastian stepped into the Shalour City gym, eyes growing wide slightly at the sight. This place was practically a skate park, brimming with trainers on roller blades. He had an itch to put his own on for a moment; that was cool right? He’d only gotten to use them a grand total of a few times and they were rather short stints each.
No, no… he was here for a gym battle, not a roller derby. It was probably better he kept his feet planted firmly on the ground until he finished. And then maybe he’d give the course a try or something. As he moved into the a blonde girl on roller blades pretty much flipped into view, coming to a halt and addressing him with a smile. ”Hey there! Do you need help with something?” Sebastian straightened up. "Uhm, ya actually I’m looking to challenge the gym leader." The girl’s grin seemed to grow as she pointed a thumb in her direction.
”Well that’d be me! I’m Korrina the gym leader here!” She remarked. Sebastian smiled, offering a hand out."It’s nice to meet you, Korrina. My name’s Sebastian." Korrina returned the shake, stepping back and starting to move.
Well it’s nice to meet you Sebastian. I hope you’re ready because my pokemon are fighting-fit and prepared for battle!” Korrina remarked, as they moved to the arena platform. Sebastian was still eyeing the gym surroundings as he moved to place, looking back at Korrina across the field. "I sure am, I hope it’s a good battle." Sebastian nodded, pulling out Dues’ pokeball. Hopefully the Sylveon’s temper had died down…

So--" She skidded to a stop, brandishing a badge and holding it out to Sebastian. "Here you go! This is the Rumble Badge, to prove you've won as a challenger of my gym! Take this, too-- it's one of my favorite TMs, and really packs a punch the more you use it," she added, giving a playful wink as she produced a TM as well.

Trent grimaced as his Pidgey was taken down, and shot a glare back at his two female friends, who both gave wide-eyed shrugs in response. He turned back to the battle, recalling his pokemon. "She's a fighting-ground type, dude. Use that," Brian advised, examining his pokedex and nudging Trent. The battler shot a glance at his friend, but then grabbed another pokeball, sending out a Ralts. "Hey look, Ralward! It's a you!" Mime Jr chirped, looking back at her friend with a grin, her hands on her hips. The familiar ralts just bowed his head, his hand held up near his mouth as he remained mute. Regardless of the familiarity of the pokemon, Jade wasn't slowed-- she immediately lunged into an attack, giving an angry yowl when it failed to cause the pokemon to flinch. The Ralts released a blast of psychic energy, making Jade stumble, but hardly slowing her on her second attack, which promptly finished the poor pokemon off.

Sebastian gave a sigh and a grin, Naps squeaking a roar and flailing his arms victoriously as he returned back to his trainer’s side. The young man gave him an appreciative pat on the head, returning his attention to Korrina.
"Thank you! Same to you, I was worried there for a moment." He certainly hadn’t expected Deuce to get smacked around so much; he was actually… kind of worried about checking on him after that. That only slightly diminished the grin on his face though as he accepted both the badge and the TM from Korrina, giving a little bow of appreciation as well. It had really been an amazing match.
"Thank you! I appreciate it a lot." He replied proudly, Naps squeaking in agreement. Stepping back he raised a free hand and gave a wave farewell. "Take care!" Maybe he’d come back to check out the whole skate park situation going on once his team was healed. For now, he headed along to the pokemon center to do just that; and then…

Jade skulked back to her position, staring her enemy down. Trent ground his teeth together as he looked back at her, then finally releasing his next pokemon, a Karrablast. Anja suddenly straightened up, her eyes wide in realization. "Oh hey! Send your dewott out!" she urged. Jade twitched her head to give the girl an angled, narrowed glare of disapproval. Mimey put on a thoughtful expression, though, and looked over at Tod questioningly. He glanced off to the side, mouth thinning as he apparently caught on to the girls enthusiasm. He was very aware of Jade's stare, too... but looked forward, moving to stand in front of her. Mimey and the others watched Jade carefully, her fur starting to stand on end, but, in a way that made the action looked so forced it seemed unnatural, she backed up a few paces, grinding her jaw.
Tod bent his knees, readying, then, just like before, leaped up. Gravity seemed to cease working and he soared up, hovering in the sky like a marionette. "... Wh-what the ******** style="color: orange"> Mimey had to stifle a giggle as Trent, after delayed shock, stumbled back, his expression twisted in disbelief. He nearly brought him and Brian down, but somehow his friend caught him and kept his balance, even though his gaze was locked onto Tod in a similarly shocked look. "Karra! Kar! Karra!" Trent's pokemon called out as Tod started to come down, asking for some command. With its trainer stunned into silence, it desperately tried to counter with a Peck attack, but Tod, soaring through the air, dodged, coming down hard to hit the little bug and knock it out, sending it rolling back and landing unconscious at its trainer's feet.

Sebastian stepped away from the counter as Nurse Joy returned his pokemon to him, giving a smile and a nod in thanks. Stepping back outside and off a little ways, just for safety’s sake, before he released Dues. The Sylveon still wore a scowl on his face. His attitude hadn’t seemed to improve… at least not as far as his trainer could tell. The man frowned, arms crossing over his chest as a frown took his face.
"Are you still mad?" He inquired. Dues glared up at him, giving a little growl in response. "Okay, you’re still mad…," A look of utter confusion crossed Sebastian’s face as he considered what to do. Finally he dropped down on his knees in front of the Sylveon.
"Deuce… you need to get over this." The Sylveon perked up, temporary shock crossing his face. What did this guy just say? Sebastian didn’t acknowledge the shock, pointing a finger out at the pokemon. "For now… there’s nothing I can do, but I think you’re just overreacting. This isn’t a bad form I mean, you beat two of the gym leader’s three pokemon. That’s a pretty big accomplishment." Dues just stared. And stared.

Trent stared down at his fainted pokemon, with Brian still sort of holding him up, both trying to recover from the shock of a flying Dewott. "W... Was that some kind of trick?" the battler finally asked, pulling himself to his feet, and returning Karrablast. He stared down a moment, then lifted his head, pulling out his next pokeball. "Dude, you can't send out--""No, I'm not," Trent muttered, releasing a Jigglypuff. Tod blinked but looked to the side, watching as Jade prowled over to his side, looking up at him. When he didn't move, she seemed to take that as permission to take back over, regardless of whether that was intent.
Still, Tod didn't bother arguing. He tossed his gaze up in exasperation, but turned and moved to join his teammates, his arms crossed over his chest as he watched. Trent let out a cry of exasperation and threw his hands up as Tod intervened, when he was finally going to land a good hit, and took his pokemon out. Jade didn't look much happier, but before she could snap at him, Mimey grabbed her face, and jerked it down to her level. "TEAM, Jade. TEAM. You are on a TEAM now! Don't get yourself K.O.ed for no reason!" She looked back at Jade's narrow eyes, unfazed by the murderous expression, but the Meleeon simply yanked her head away, and skulked forward again, trying to over take Tod as the next pokemon was out.
The dewott rolled his eyes again, stepping back. Too bad... They were so close to her being out for a good little while. So close... His mouth thinned as he became aware of Mimey's disapproving stare from where she stood beside him, little hands on her hips. Jade now at her eyes closed as she waited for the next pokemon to be sent out. She was listening, since she couldn't really see anything with this stupid sunlight. "No, dude, he's not strong enough. And she's a fighting type," Brian was muttering. "I... know that, but he's my last pokemon and... we're supposed to be helping them train..." Not that Trent sounded particularly motivated or invested in it, at this point. Jade could hear him sigh, and the click of a pokeball. "I know you're still pretty weak, Arceus, and this won't be a fun battle, but it'll help these pokemon get stronger," he reluctantly warned his pokemon.
All of Jay's team, save Jade, were staring in awe. Arceus.... As in arceus? They looked at the pokemon as it stood there, shifting, eying them sideways. Attention shifted as Jade moved, then bolted up, listening to try and pinpoint her appointment. The god pokemon braced himself, eyes closing as he laid down. Jade shifted, opening her eyes, squinting against the light, and then pulled up as she reached him, balancing on her hind legs to shoot a hard punch at the god. Arceus took the blow, turning his head with it, then lifted his head, turning to look back at his trainer. Trent sighed, returning him. "Alright... that's all of my pokemon," he muttered, rubbing his neck. "Guess it's my turn..." Brian muttered, looking reserved at the idea. He didn't look... particularly enthused...

She grinned to herself, but then looked up as Brian moved to grab his first pokeball. "Wait! Hold on!" she urged, and he quirked an eyebrow. She gestured for the other pokemon to come closer, which they.... mostly did, some with more reserve than others, with only Jade keeping her distance. Even Gail had excitedly huddled in. "Jade and Tod are pretty low on health, so Jesse-- I want you to try and battle, okay?" she requested, placing her hands together as she looked at the bug pokemon. Jesse buzzed uncertainly, lowering herself further to the ground. "I... I dunno..." she murmured.
Mimey just perked up, though. "You took out that other pokemon! And don't worry, we won't let you faint!" she continued encouragingly. The beedrill gave another cautious buzz, then, with hesitation, gave a nod. Mimey smiled, bopping her head as well, and then breaking the huddle, throwing her hands into the air as she turned back to Brian. "Okay! We're good!" she chimed. He eyed her a moment, but then sighed, nodding and releasing his pokemon. Uh... Oh! W... wow! She won! Jesse blinked, her bug eyes wider than usual, her antennae back in surprise. Brian actually smiled a little at the pokemon's clear shock. "I don't actually have a lot of pokemon on me," he admitted, grabbing his next one, "But you picked the right pokemon for this... My last pokemon won't be as easy, though, but in the meantime..." He released Cacturne, and Mimey beamed, bouncing and clapping her hands. Jesse totally had this! The beedrill glanced over at her ecstatic teammate, then back at her opponent, bracing herself, and then hopping forward to unleash another attack. Another one hit K.O..... Wow! She didn't know she could even do that... especially not with such strong pokemon.

Sebastian was rubbing gingerly at the slightly red ring around his neck, panting for air as he eyed the pokeball clutched tightly in his hand. Well that had certainly gone from bad to worse to downright terrifying in the course of ten minutes. It was probably good thinking that he’d moved himself away from near the pokemon center because the events that had transpired probably would’ve had him arrested.
There was no doubting in his mind that he had tried to be positive with Dues about the whole situation to little effect. The man had run through every viable option he could think of to make it seem positive and for a brief moment he’d thought he’d gotten through to the Dues. The look on the Sylveon’s face seemed to suggest that something Sebastian had said had clicked.
Or not, because the next thing Sebastian knew, those pretty little ribbons were around his neck trying to choke him. He didn’t expect it and if he hadn’t had a proper dose of survival instinct, he would’ve reacted slower. Luckily he did; reaching up and yanking himself free to fling the pokemon away.
"W-what the hell?!" Alright then, clearly this was not the time to discuss this matter. It was made even more obvious as Dues tried to charge him down which would’ve been really bad with Sebastian seated on the ground as he was. In a calculated panic, he snapped the pokeball free though and returned the Sylveon right as he was on top of him.
Alright… that was enough of that. Sebastian sighed, still staring the ball down before shoving it as far down in his bag as he could. For now… he’d just let Dues cool off. There were… other things to worry about.

Mimey clapped, bouncing in place and beaming. Jesse was doing great! This was awesome! This was great! This was-- uh oh. She stopped, her little shoulders dropping and her eyes growing wide as the next pokemon was sent out. Jesse's wings fluttered, but she seemed to assume she was going to do this battle-- which she shouldn't. Jay hadn't refined her moveset yet, which, up until now, was okay, but as it was, there was virtually no versatility at all, and she... definitely needed that against a poison-bug pokemon. "Uh, wait! Jesse, why don't you take a break? Scy can take this!" she offered quickly, trying not to look or sound nervous.
She felt Scy's gaze fall on her, but she didn't glance at him-- she kept her focus on Jesse, who turned her head, blinking, then nodding, slinking over to join them while Scy took three long steps and took her place, facing the opponent with his claws ready. Yeesh.... For such a laid back, low key pokemon, was there ever a time he didn't look ready for battle?

Mimey relaxed a bit, taking a few quick, little steps forward to address the group of friends. "Thank you all for helping us!" she chirruped, arms straight by her side. "No problem," Anja replied, grinning with her eyes closed, while her friend stifled a laugh, "It was fun seeing these guys get their arses kicked." Brian and Trent both gave her disapproving side stares, but she waved them off. "See you later, Mime Jr! You all take care!" she added, giving the pokemon a wave, opening her eyes as she let her grin slip to a warm smile.
Mimey beamed and craned her arm up to wave back, watching the group go, and then hopping to turn about face, and head towards the pokecenter. "C'mon!" she urged the group, "Maybe if Jay's awake, we can go challenge the gym next!"
