Cain pulled her to him with a comforting arm around her waist and pulled her in against him, his other hand pushing a lock of her hair behind her ear as he smiled at her, "I know all of that, love... So does Sebastet or she wouldn't have agreed to the laboratory being built. You need to understand your abilities and what you can do with them. You will only gain that through trial and error. We have all had our pitfalls over time, made our mistakes that cannot be corrected, hurt others without meaning to do so. It's a part of living as long as we do and having the abilities we do," he said to her, hoping she understood what he was saying. He put his other arm around her waist, loving the feeling of her in his arms right now, "Now that that's all decided and ready to go, what else do you want to do with the night ahead of us? I believe you said something about spoiling me..." he teased her deliberately, wanting to chase the shadows from her beautiful eyes.

Rose looked at him sadly "But I did mean to hurt them, 145%. I know that much. " Behind the cool tone she had used when writing down the interpretation of the the data, there had been a glimmer of pride, of satisfaction. Thank the gods she never read her laboratory journals, four volumes full of details best left unknown. It was a bit worrying that Rose had no idea of where they were though, it could be quite lethal, in the wrong hands. All of the prototype spells that didn't achieve their purpose, but still resulted in rather... messy ... ends, and who knew what else. Maybe they had been destroyed, maybe they lay forgotten in some forgotten pile, Rose was hoping for the first, but doubted it. She could faintly remember attaching something nasty to take care of it, a curse she had developed herself if she recalled correctly, and if it was the same as the other book, then it couldn't be burned, and water did nothing to fade the ink, any damage done to it was neatly repaired using the vandal's own energy. So forgotten was the best option. Rose shook those thoughts from her head, it didn't matter right now whether or not her research was gone or not. She had a handsome vampire to spoil. Rose smiled at Cain, "You see, the beauty of the plan is that there is no plan, all you hand to do is ask, and I shall try to make it happen."

Cain gave a soft laugh at her plan for the evening and ran his hand through her hair lightly as he hugged her close, "Alright then, Sweetness... I'll first ask that we take a stroll through the garden and enjoy the night air with you beside me. After that, I want to watch you enjoy a meal, since I love to watch you doing anything at all. Then, perhaps, we can finish the evening sitting in front of the fireplace in a most pleasurable manner," he suggested, knowing that his simple requests would seem just to her. But he also knew that the evening held plenty of promise for them both to be surprised.

Rose smiled at his suggestion, it certainly sounded quite lovely. She reached up to place a light kiss on his nose "That can definitively happen, and it sounds wonderful. Although I suppose that means we'll have to finish dressing then. " Not that she minded him shirtless, but she wasn't certainly going to walk around only partially dressed. Rose separated herself from Cain and began to button up her shirt, well it was more like button down because she always started at the top buttons. It was just the way she did things.

Cain gave in gracefully and went into his room to finish getting dressed. He'd loved it when she'd picked out his slacks but now stood in front of his row of shirts and wondered which one to wear. Usually, when he picked out clothes to put on, he never paid any attention to any of it which usually resulted in strange combinations. Tonight, he wanted to pay attention. He looked through his various shirts and finally selected one that wouldn't clash with his eyes. Basic black, one could never go wrong with it. He slid the silk on and buttoned it down, tucked it in, then decided against a tie or cravat and simply left the top two buttons undone. He pulled his braid loose and slid his feet into a pair of ankle boots before finally leaving the closet to join her in the sitting room. He was about to lead her into the garden when he actually bumped into the table that was set up for Rose's first meal of the evening. He blinked down at it with a small frown before he remembered that he'd told the servants not to forget to feed her, since he was all too likely to do so. So they'd arranged for three meals to be sent up to his room and set up on the table or on a cart next to it so that the items would stay warm or cold depending on the dish. He looked down at Rose with a sheepish look on his face, "Well, they remembered to bring your breakfast. I'm glad they did, actually, since I forgot," he admitted to her, one hand rubbing at the back of his neck in a nervous gesture. Yes, he'd said he wanted to watch her eat, but that was mainly because he enjoyed watching her eat, or do just about anything.

While Cain was finishing getting dressed, Rose found a pair of flats nearly hidden next to the nightstand the and slipped into them. Looks like they didn't make it to where the rest of her shoes were. Rose took a few experimental steps to make sure that they still didn't rub her feet the wrong way, then went and waited for the eternity of about a minute. Rose suppressed a snicker when he bumped into the table, he really was the most preoccupied people she had ever met. She didn't do the best of jobs of it though, there was laughter in her voice when she spoke "It's alright, I nearly forgot as well. Don't worry, even if we both forget, at some point my stomach will remind me." It was a bit odd that not even a disgruntled gurgle had come from her stomach, normally it quite loudly announced that it has had enough of being empty

Cain joined her in her laughter, "Then it looks like you get to eat before we go to the garden," he said with a half shrug and moved over to the cart to see what had been left for her. He found himself a bit envious of her being able to eat as he discovered pancakes, crispy bacon, a bowl of fresh fruit, and a hot cider. But he served her at the table anyway and poured himself a cup of the cider before sitting across from her, "I really do enjoy watching you eat, you know. I never thought I would enjoy that but I do with you," he added, finding himself giving a stupid grin over the whole thing.

Rose smiled quizzically at him "Thank you...?" Rose wasn't quite sure what to make of that comment, from him out seemed sweet, albeit a little quirky. But everyone had their quirks. Mentally. Rose shrugged. She paused to polish off the bacon and continued thoughtfully, "Well I've sorta seen you eat before, and that was certainly something new for me... How often do you need to drink anyway?" Rose certainly didn't want Cain to go hungry, err... thirsty, any more than he wanted her. Rose wondered if thirsty vampires fainted in a similar fashion to hungry hypoglycemia stricken people. It didn't seem very likely.

Cain blushed over that event, not realizing she'd seen it, and looked down into his cup, "I only have to feed about once a week. Sometimes I go longer, it all depends on when I remember that I have to. I can go as long as two months before I start to get weak. It's usually not a good thing if I go that long, though. If any vampire goes too long without feeding, they either fall into torpor, a hybernative state, or they go into bloodlust, where they lose it completely and go into a feeding frenzy. The former is alright. The latter... Well, it's not so pretty to see..." he explained without looking at her. He remembered his first bloodlust all too well. Well, the aftermath of it. The actual event was still a haze to him. But he could still remember waking up in the middle of that village, hearing the silence around him, feel the blood that covered him, the knowledge that he'd killed everyone there... He shook his head to chase the memory away and offered her a smile, "I have friends like Dancer who help me remember to feed so that I don't have to worry about either problem. I don't need much when I do feed, not even enough to make the donor dizzy. So it's not a hardship to Dancer when it's time for it," he found himself rambling and shut up, finding himself uncomfortable talking about it for some reason. All he could think of was what it would be like to taste her blood. Especially during a more intimate moment between them... Okay, time to stop that track of thought. He noticed that she was finished with her meal and drained his cup before standing and offering her a hand, "Shall we go for that walk now?" he asked her softly.

Rose fell silent as he explained, she could tell Cain was a bit uneasy about the subject. Her pancakes disappeared as she listened, being a vampire did not sound easy in the slightest. She could get crabby when she was too hungry, but it sounded awful to completely lose control like that. It was all quite interesting though, she really had to read the book on the various races he gave her later. Rose knew she probably couldn't just go and ask such questions at every new person she met. That was a good way to get a reputation as a busy body. With a small smile, Rose arose and accepted his hand and said in a lightly teasing tone, "You're being spoiled remember? Of course." Hand in hand, Rose let Cain lead her into the lush green garden.

Cain lead Rose into their rooms and closed the door behind him then suddenly felt a bit nervous. He looked over at the rug he had sitting in front of the fireplace and knew it would certainly not be adequate for their evening and tried to think of a good replacement fast. He easily noted the small cart that held Rose's dinner and guessed from the lack of a table that it would be something either romantic or simply easy to eat. He moved over to her to place a light kiss on her forehead, "Why don't you check to see what they sent up for your dinner and I'll set us up a nicer spot in front of the fireplace," he said softly then disappeared into the bedroom and his closet for a little bit.

Rosabel Marcellus Rose nodded at his suggestion "Alright, if you don't want any help then..." Rose watched Cain exit to the other room, and then went to go investigate the dinner cart. Today it was a chicken sandwich coupled with some fresh vegetables and a small pitcher of water. Rose perched herself on a chair and then began to happily munch on the sandwich, like everything she had eaten while here, it was tasty to say the least. It was gone in a flash, the vegetables as well. Soon there was nothing left by a light dusting of crumbs on the plate. Rose sipped her glass of water while she waited for Cain to re-emerge.

Cain emerged with several blankets and several pillows that he arranged in front of the fireplace, taking his time with it until he felt that it was perfect. He was also wearing nothing but a robe in a careful shade of deep purple that seemed to accentuate the colors of both of his harlequined eyes, and he'd left his hair in the braid she'd done for him. He finally raised his eyes to her as he knelt in the center of the blankets and pillows and raised a hand to her, "Care to join me Rose?" he asked her softly, not realizing how tempting he looked with the fire behind him, kneeling there wearing nothing but a robe...

Rosabel Marcellus Rose intently observed Cain as he arranged the mass of blankets and pillows. It was cute how focused he was on his task, it was like he was trying to figure out the perfect arrangement of pillows and blankets. Of course that wasn't the only reason why she was watching, he had on quite the outfit... Rose somehow managed to rip her eyes away from the handsome vampire and take off her shoes. After she had taken them off, she paused and wondered if she should go "get into something more comfortable". But before she could sneak off to do so, Cain had already directed an invitation to join him in front of the fireplace. Her heart actually skipped a beat when she met his eyes, oh gods, how did he not know how utterly appealing he was? For a moment she simply stared at him, at some point she became aware what she was doing and managed to snap herself out of it. "Uh. Yes, of course!" Rose padded over to where Cain was kneeling, took his hand and as gracefully as she could (which wasn't very, her legs had seemed to come to the conclusion that this was the precise time to stop working fully) and sat down next to him.

Cain smiled as he helped her onto the blankets and sit down with him, her reactions to him strangely drawing a pleased reaction from him. He'd never paid attention to his looks before and for her to react to the way he looked turned out to be a rather potent aphrodisiac for him, something he was most definitely not used to. But he loved it as much as he loved her, and knew he'd never take either for granted. He leaned in for a gentle kiss first, unable to resist her lips as she looked at him like that. As he pulled back and looked into her beautiful eyes, he found himself frozen by them, lost in their beauty as well as hers, "Do you know how beautiful you are Rose? Just looking at you is as much of a distraction to me as a treatise on Dragon traditions to me..." he said softly, almost breathlessly. Then he realized how unromantic that sounded and found himself actually blushing for the blunder. But it was still the truth...
