As the mist continued to envelop the woman, she began to feel weak. Her rest earlier at the hospital had yielded only a superficial recovery. There had been no response yet from Masahiro, so she decided to meditate on a proper response to the implication that Kirigakure was involved in the release of Choumei and the subsequent devastation of the Village. She planted her feet firmly in the water, took a deep breath, and stared into the ripples.
In her mental plane, she stood above a crumbling city at dawn, countless people running around under her like ants. The scene was not of Sunagakure, but rather the old capital city, Rouran. It had been a few years since this day, but the woman remembered well the scent of blood that was about to spill from the Jashinists below. It was a foe she had encountered before, albeit one she had never faced before. As she pondered what to do about Jack, she formed a hand seal in her mind.
With a steel body, she plummeted into the fray. Her hands slid through the skulls of two Jashinists with ease as she landed on them. All at once, the horde descended on her and was wiped out, first torn to pieces by a surge of whirlwinds, and then scattered to the winds by a storm that issued from her mouth.
Anti-army attacks won't do against a single target, Bast thought, watching the ripples in the water play with the mist. There's something missing. Back then, I was not alone. What would my allies do in that situation? Their deaths must be avoided. I need a more refined strategy.

Ayame walked into the hot springs and rolled the legs of her hakama up then removed her shoes. Daichi, being the water loving wolf he was quickly walked into the water and submerged himself till only his head was above the water. I see I missed a lot. Seems to happen every time I leave. She said sighing as Daichi gave a rumble at the feel of the water.

Bast twitched when Ayame spoke, having been deep enough into thinking that she had not notice the Kazekage's approach. She looked toward the other woman, expression serious.
"Welcome back," she opened. "I trust you're already caught up on what happened here. If not: the Seven-Tails was released and attacked the Village along with a little girl who wielded a strange dagger, and the battle ended when the dagger was sealed. It seems likely the girl and the bug were being controlled by the dagger. I think the collateral damage is fairly evident. There is on matter I wished to speak to inform you of personally, though: the name of the Mizukage was on the dagger's hilt."
Having stated the majority of what she considered to be relevant information, Bast sighed and leaned backward on her rock. She stared up at the bright blue sky, her feet soaking in the water of the hot springs.
"Ayame, I believe we should start preparing for war. I have contacted Konoha with a request for lumber and food, but I have not yet received a response. As soon as dealings with them are finished and I've repaired my golems, I will begin training again. Do you have any objections, Lady Kage?"
Her gaze fell, resting first on Ayame, then on Daichi. She extended a hand toward the latter, beckoning him over for a quick pet. Her muscles were stiff, but her mind felt sharper than ever. The day had come when she needed more power, and she was going to make sure the opportunity did not slip through her fingers.

As soon as Bast beckoned Daichi over, she would look rather surprised, then disappear in a puff of smoke. It would appear that she had been summoned, presumably by the Hokage. In the last moment before she vanished, she spoke:
"Holy sh--"
And then her words were cut off. Her geta sat on the edge of the hot springs undisturbed by the sudden commotion.

A few minutes after she disappeared, Bast reappeared in the rubble near the hot springs. It seemed one of her summoning seals had been picked up in the winds and blown around for a while. After extracting herself from the debris, she walked back through the main building for the hot springs, toward where she had last seen Ayame.
"You're still here," she remarked, sounding both surprised and slightly relieved. "A quick update: Masahiro just summoned me. He'll be sending along lumber for our use soon, on the condition we send him some orichalcum from his mine. Konoha was just attacked, with the Village elders reportedly killed in an explosion that happened about two feet away from us as we were leaving his office."
Bast walked over to where she had left her geta and scooped them up in her hands. She wasn't going to forget them this time, that was for sure.

Ayame stayed where she was after Bast disappeared and waited for her to return. When she did Daichi walked up to her for the pet that was due to him. "It's rude for me to just walk off isn't it? And I'm glad you and my cousin are ok. About the dagger it looks like I'll have to make a trip to Kirigakure, I'll probably just send Daichi and someone else though as I have things to do in the village and it seems every time I leave we get attacked." Ayame stood and looked to Bast, "Hopefully there is some explanation for this. I would prefer to get all my facts before starting an all out war. I'm tired of the death that's for sure. I also need to go back to the hospital, I've already sent anbu to find bodies in the districts. Families will need to identify and bury their members, and I need them underground as the smell of death needs to leave this village."
Bast reached out and patted Daichi on the head while nodding along to what Ayame was saying.
"Be careful when sending someone to Kirigakure; if they're behind this attack, it's likely they will try to harm whomever approaches them," Bast advised. "Head back to the hospital. I'll send a message there when the wood shipment arrives. As payment for the wood, Masahiro requested a shipment of orichalcum from his mines in the countryside; if we can spare the people, let's send a small squad out there to do some mining. I'll go myself if no one else can. In the meantime, I'll work on clearing some of the rubble with some of my golems, since we'll be able to cover a lot of ground easily."
The woman bowed slightly, then reached down and swapped the sandals she had gotten from Masahiro for her own geta, holding the former in one hand.
"If you have no further orders, I'll get to work."
With that, the woman bowed once more, turned, and jogged away.
Aaliyah dashed into the hot springs on hot heels. She didn't see Kohana anywhere around yet so she assumed that she must still be tailing behind. Causally strolling through the entrance to the male's side of the spring Aaliyah nodded towards what must have been a guard keeping watch. The man barely looked up long enough to give a response nod towards Aaliyah before going back to his magazine and it took nearly all of her energy not to burst out laughing at her own little ruse succeeding. Before entering all the way though Aaliyah resigned to wait just near the entrance so that Kohana wouldn't end up lost.

Kohana skipped across town, following the attractive male Aaliyah in front of her. They'd gotten a few looks, and some of them even brought heat to Kohana's face, but overall they didn't bring too much attention to themselves. She watched in awe as Aaliyah nodded to the ANBU and then moved further in. Kohana tried to do the same but the masked man didn't even look up from his magazine this time. She would probably be worried about the state of her village if she dwelled on why the man seemed so careless, but she adrenaline from what they were doing prevented her from having a clear train of thought.
She caught up to Aaliyah quickly and bounced from foot to foot. "How about I go get some cleaning supplies and ask the customers to leave so I can clean the springs? When the people step out, you can snap a few pics of them! Then, we can trade... I think we can get some good photos if we bait them like that." Kohana's eyes seemed to glow brighter at the idea of mischief. She really, really liked being Aaliyah's friend!
Aaliyah almost leaped with excitement with Kohana as they both synced up right outside the hot spring, but figured that she would need to keep her cool at least for a little bit longer. Just relax! Don't think about it, all I gotta do is act cool as a cat."Ooo girl I like the way you think! I'm gonna wait in the locker room and find a good place to nonchalantly stand ya know or maybe hide out waiting with the camera." Aaliyah winked before strolling into the locker room.
As she walked Aaliyah snagged a towel from the nearby by service rack that sat waiting by the sink before entry and surveyed her surroundings. From the layout of the building their was two places that one would be able to hide very well. The first being behind the wall to the showers. It being low enough that one could simply snap a few photos of someone and then hide the camera down low under the walls cover in a swift motion. The other was the mountain of discarded towels that could allow for someone to simply take cover under it. Deciding to go with the latter option Aaliyah snugly dove under the fuzzy mound before anyone else came through and quickly set up a small hole that she was able to peak out of. The smell was of course atrocious but like hell if she would let that stop her. Alright now that everything is set up I just have to wait for Kohana to hurry up with her end of the bargain. Time to see some d***! When or if Kohana would pass through the locker room as well Aaliyah would quickly stick her arm out of the hole to give her a thumbs up letting her know where she was hidden.

Kohana grinned at Aaliyah's praise, grabbing a cleaning net as her partner in crime scurried off into the lockerroom. She walked into the men's section of the hot springs and cleared her throat as her eyes fell on three men talking about crude details of women they've met before. "Excuse me," she began, "but I need to clean this hot spring right now. You can wait in the locker room until I finish, though. There should be refreshments." She leaned on the net as the men groaned their complaints and rose;she looked at her feet to avoid seeing their privates.
Her mind wandered throughout her task, and she found herself wondering how successful Aaliyah was in the locker room. She hoped that there were some good pictures being taken, although she herself didn't want to see the proof. She swung the cleaning net around to catch cloth, hair, and a stray twig. She found the repetitive work calming, and found the heat radiating from the water tempting. But she couldn't let her teammate down by slacking, and carried through. Once the spring appeared to lack any debris besides the grains of sand at the bottom - which would be there until the spring was completely drained, unfortunately - she considered it a job well done. About ten minutes had passed... surely Aaliyah had gotten enough pictures in that time... right?
Having to have to sit for so long in one place started to give Aaliyah cramps in her legs. She grumbled while trying to rub them out to no avail of course until she heard the clatter of the door creaking open. Immediately covering her mouth to hush her breathing Aaliyah squirmed to peek out of her hole and was greeted with quite the 'special' sight of the men from the pool. Hohoho looks like Kohana had finished her part of the deal. Aaliyah scooped up her camera before the moment passed. She managed to snap pictures of her specimen a few while they were all grouped together. Of course she only cherry picked the moments when they either had the towels on or were tastefully covered.
It wasn't long after when Aaliyah had nearly enough to satisfy the requirement for the mission when her group of models ran off to go to the showers. Aaliyah bit her lip in frustration. Well.. I guess there's just no helping it right? I'll have to.. get in closer and see if I can sneak it. Making sure the coast was clear Aaliyah crawled from her hovel while using her sexy no jutsu as a cover up. Because of the way the locker room was set up Aaliyah had it easy enough with a set of top and bottom lockers on the wall across from the showers, which had an open doorway with nothing to stop anyone from peeking in. With that information she was able to use one of the lockers as a means to cover her camera and simply pretend that she/he was actually just a normal person minding their own business in their locker. Fortune must have smiled on her seeing as all the men were turned enough to not be able to see her as they were all facing the showers heads and Aaliyah was able to snap the perfect pictures of their 'assets' and running off the moment she had the final picture, snapping the locker shut to hide the shutter noise.
Scampering into he actual hot springs before someone caught onto her plan Aaliyah found Kohana had managed to clean a good portion of the hot spring already. Skipping up behind her Aaliyah plucked out one of the more... nude photos and flashed it in front of Kohana giggling. "Whaddya think hm? I thought he was pretty cute!"

Kohana turned to find an excited Aaliyah. She offered up a very naked picture and - "Eugh!" Kohana turned her head and stuck her tongue out in a grossed out fashion, rubbing her hands up and down her arms while trying to forget the traumatizing image. "Just... ew." She shook her head, and then passed the cleaning net to Aaliyah and tried to look more in control. "I'm gonna go to the ladies' room and snap some pictures if you'll clean their side of the spring." She left the male spring section without waiting for confirmation, happy to go back to more familiar genitalia.
Unable to hold herself together Aaliyah full on broke out laughing upon seeing Kohana's reaction. She had never seen someone so adverse to the opposite sex before. Usually people give off a more of a pretend sickened but curious expression. Forcibly pulling herself out of her shambles Aaliyah ran after Kohana, releasing her transformation before she got into trouble for walking into the girls side as a boy.
Stepping into the girls hot spring Aaliyah found the place to be filled with plenty of unwilling subjects for Kohana to sneak pictures of. Grinning to herself Aaliyah threw off her shirt and ran sliding, or rather skidding to the pools edge before cannon balling into the water. Creating a monsoon of water that showered practically every other girl in nearby. Popping out of the water Aaliyah shouted "EVERYONE OUT IT'S TIME FOR THE HOT SPRING SUPER ULTRA CLEANING SERVICE! Please at this time enter into the locker rooms while you wait." This of course earned her more than a few dirty looks as the girls begrudgingly got up in their little huffs though Aaliyah didn't care in the slightest as long as Kohana was able to get her pictures for the mission. Crawling to the edge of the spring Aaliyah scooped up the cleaning supplies nearby before looking down at them rather sullenly. Yeah no way I'm going through this by hand let's just speed it up a little bit shall we? Grabbing a few more of the older towels with groups of black tendrils that erupted from every crack of her body. each group of tendrils performing a different task such as scrubbing with a soapy towel, to dusting the upper areas, sweeping the floor where all the snobby girls left, and of course in general trash picking up. Aaliayh had effectively become a wild cleaning machine in a moments notice and swept through the hot spring like a hurricane.

Kohana giggled at the sound of the hot spring splash that was naturally Aaliyah. There's no one else who could have that much fun on a mission, she was sure of it. She tried to focus on her own task, stuffing herself into a locker. She pulled the camera up close and looked through the locker grates.
It only took a minute for the other girls to pile into the locker room, where Kohana was ready for them. She snapped as many pictures as she could of them, but placed the camera around the grates to cover their... bits. It was still pervy but it wouldn't be too invasive. She waited for them to begin their showers to actually leave the hot springs, feeling successful about her cleaned springs and collection of pictures.
