Sullivan frowned, nodding along as Alejandro answered his question. He wasn’t going tie, the description didn’t exactly paint the image of an abuser that he expected. Someone who sounded like a squirrely nerd you'd’ find in a library? Of course… abusers came in all shapes and sizes, sadly enough. It was also a shame that the police might not look further into it. Though if what if the story of the other blue-haired man was correct then he’d kind of put himself in that situation.

A second thought crossed his mind and he scribbled again; he’d need to flip the page soon too. Boy, this was probably the most writing he’d done in a while. 'You could look into natural stuff too, to boost her system and help her recovery quickly. There’s plenty of stuff like that that wild pokemon consume to keep themselves up.' Berries, roots, etc. Not all tasty, but options in the event that a doctor’s visit wasn’t always an option.

While Reina, at first, had only joked about battling the gym. The idea became more and more real the longer she looked over her Pokemon's movesets. Thankfully the dex even offered insight on what certain moves, when used by themselves, did during a contest. Though, the whole process of actually being in a contest gave Reina a headache. This was much harder than just making ones Pokemon look pretty. She finally gave up and fell backwards into her pillow, finding Nepherti's cobalt blue head resting on the pillow beside her. "You wouldn't mind a gym battle would you, Nephy?" Reina pondered, reaching a hand across to the Milotic. Nepherti replied with soft sing-song tones, which quickly lulled Reina to sleep.
That morning, the crew was up and atom. One quick breakfast later, and they were outside in the city. The prospect of finding wild Pokemon to battle was a rather difficult one to be sure. They'd managed to get all the way to Pewter from Pallet Town without so much as one encounter. whether it was because the were intimated, or Reina was just lucky was up in the air. Though where wild Pokemon weren't available, a trainer was. "Je ne peux pas le croire!" A rather loud and boisterous voice echoed out into the air, causing Reina to look towards it's direction. Aside from the obvious french, she'd of not payed much attention to the male in question. "If it isn't miss Lone Wolf 'erself!" The male continued. Without warning the man approached grabbing Reina by her shoulders and quickly came in for a kiss to both of her cheeks. "Ça fait tellement longtemps, Reina! 'ow are you? 'ow are your parents?" For a moment Reina merely stared... she didn't know this man did she? As if picking up on her confusion the male stepped back. "Pardon, pardon. It has been more than a decade 'as it not? I guess it would be understandable that you would not remember me." The man laughed awkwardly, before pressing his hands together. "You were always so fond of my Pokemon though, so perhaps you wouldn't mind a battle? Seeing them in action it may jog your Mémoire?" "Your name and relation to me would do just fine as well, but I happen to be in the process of training my team, so why not?" Reina smiled. giving the male a nod.
The battle lasted... not that long. Despite not really being one for battling Pokemon v Pokemon, she was still well enough versed in type advantages to get an easy victory to the male's flying-types. Anka did faint, this was certain, but as a ghost it took her all much a few moments to gather herself up again and return to Reina's side for Nepherti to take down his last Pokemon. He was right though, in the end she did recognize the male's Pokemon. All Kalosian in origin, their way of moving and even crying out jogged her memory. "It really has been ten years..." Reina grinned. "I was just a beat cop back then." The male erupted in laughter. "So you remember me?" Reina nodded. "Superbe! You are not in bleu, does this mean you're vacationing?" He inquired. "I was, but now... Well, tell me, are you a leo here?" Reina inquired, getting an idea from this old friend of hers. "Sure am. Can't say there is much action 'ere in Pewter City." He replied, looking fairly thoughtful, as if thinking about something he could brag about. "Have any problems with poachers?" The male rose his gaze to Reina, quirking a brow. "Just a bit. We 'ad a bit of trouble with a portion of Clefairy and some Pokemon getting stolen. But zat is about it?" It was Reina turn to look thoughtful, raising a hand to her chin. Clefairy are cute Pokemon indeed. Might fetch a high price for their relation to the moon and recently being re-categorized as fairy-types. "Why do you ask, Reina?" The egyptian looked up, waving a hand as if dusting away something in the air. "Oh, I had a run in with some hooligans on a train... I think I might of stumbled on something big going on here in Kanto... perhaps even the regions, but I can't really say yet. I need more evidence." The male folded his arms, looking far more serious than he had been before. "Really? Well, give me your number and I'll keep you posted on any more suspicious Pokemon disappearances." It was good she found someone she could trust so quickly. Exchanging numbers, Reina and her old friend parted ways. It was good seeing him still sporting a badge, though she didn't have the heart to tell him she wasn't a cop so to speak. A ten year bet should just rest with the memories.

He didn't seem all that interested in giving any thoughts on the situation, opting to give advice on how to help Aqua recover. It was kind of nice actually; talking about it was starting to make his blood boil and the last thing he wanted to do was lose his cool on someone that wasn't even doing anything wrong. Alejandro really had to work on that temper of his."If you think it'll help."He wasn't too keen on dealing with the freaks that worked at the centers if he didn't have to, though, so if he could find alternative ways of helping her, it'd be preferred. Thankfully, natural methods was something Sullivan suggested."I'll look into it, but her physical condition is fine as far as I can tell. It's really just a fear of people and Electrics that's the biggest problem right now."Still, if Sullivan was going to be a Pokemon doctor, he was more qualified to make that sort of call than Alejandro was. So, he'd take it to heart.
Sullivan watched Alejandro once he’d given his suggestions on how to help Aqua best recover physically, giving a little affirmative nod at what he took to be some level of approval. He tilted his head a bit as the other man suggested that there were still some… social issues to work through. That was … to be expected he supposed if everything she’d gone through held true. He thought about it a moment, hand to his chin as a thoughtful look crossed his face before scribbling a message once more.
'That’s a tough one. You really can only work that out with time. Though maybe you can start with getting her used to electric types? That’s going to be hard to avoid,' he inquired. He wasn’t going to tell Alejandro how to do his business after all, he only knew so much, but electric types were a more common occurrence and harder to stay away from than people. Actually, that made him wonder if that’d been part of the abuse. He scribbled another note to show the man.
'Have you considered reporting the guy here in Kanto? Word probably hasn’t made it this far and you should make sure it’s on alert all the same.' There were so many levels to these issues, he wasn’t sure all what could or what Alejandro would do. He supposed it was for the best that Aqua was at least safe but that only meant so much if the guy showed up again.

Stretching out her arms a bit, the Egyptian glanced over to Anubis. "So, you think we're still not ready for a gym?" She joked. Anubis pouted some before jumping up to Reina's shoulder. 'Yes. And I think we've got something more important to do.' He replied. Reina turned her gaze to a nearby building, tall and distinguishable from the houses surrounding them. Was that the gym? "These gyms have types don't they? Why don't we check out what type they use and then decide whether or not we're ready?" Reina inquired, though she lift no time for Anubis to reply before she started walking towards the building. It wasn't long before they were finally standing before it, a plauquer outside signified the building as the 'Pewter City Gym' "Rock-types? I think we can handle ourselves well enough." Anubis still didn't seem very sure of it all, but he knew at this point... Reina had made up her mind.
No longer fighting that they weren't ready, he decided it was best for Reina to learn it the hard way. The small group entered the gym, quickly finding themselves in an arena-like room. Rocks and dirt covered the ground and white outline signified where one should stand. This wasn't her first time entering a gym, though the Pewter City gym was vastly different from Lumious Cities gym. "I'm here to challenge the leader!?" Reina announced, leaning to the side as if that was going to change her outlook. A male quickly stepped out from a room in the back, seemingly floating across the ground with a fairly uncomfortable (but not uncommon) look in his eyes. This boy appeared to turn into puddy in the presence of women. "The name is Reina, and I guess I'm your opponent." Maybe that uncomfortable feeling was because she didn't know how one was suppose to actually issue a challenge? She felt the same as her first day in blue.
"Hello, Challenger. I'm Brock, the leader of the Pewter City Gym. All of my Pokemon are Rock-hard!" So she had done it right? Well, whatever the case, the male sent forward his first Pokemon, so Reina did the same. Nepherti was feeling pumped from her last battle even if she had only been in the battle for little under 1 minute. "A Water-type? Good choice, but don't count your duckletts before they hatch!" He announced. With that the battle started.

When the Onix fell and the dust settled, neither side could speak. It was after a sigh that Brock returned his fallen Pokemon and began to walk across the field. He met Reina half way while she picked Anubis up into her arm. "That was certainly something." The male stated. "Your Pokemon are tough, but the next badge will only be harder." He added. Handing Reina her spoils, the male quickly left to heal his Pokemon. Reina pocketed the Tm for the moment and took a moment in the silence to look down at the badge she'd obtained, then to Anubis asleep in her arms. "Yea. You were right, Anubis... but so was I." With a sigh of her own, the Egyptian turned on her heel and headed back to the Pokemon Center to heal up her team.
After that was all said and done, she returned the bulk of her squad to their pokeballs and headed out of Pewter to the east. Next up was Mount Moon.

He had to introduce her to Destello at the right time; preferably after he knew she trusted him completely so there was a higher chance of her not running away."I have one I can start with. It's just a matter of figuring out when to introduce them."Where they were mattered, too, but he already had ideas for that. Mostly places where she wouldn't feel caged. When Sullivan asked if he'd considered reporting Aqua's former trainer to the Kanto authorities, Alejandro crossed his arms and gave a bit of a sneer. Sullivan was right; he should report what happened now so it didn't come back and bite him in the a** later on. But, at the same time, there was a lot of resentment and animosity towards the police; and, a total absence of trust."The authorities can suck it."He liked Sullivan and felt a little bad about turning away his suggestion when he was only trying to help, but that was just how he was. To him, his hate and mistrust for the police was completely justified and even felt good. He'd deal with the situation on his own until he knew he couldn't anymore."I appreciate the advise, but I should be fine without something as unreliable as the police force."
Sullivan watched Alejandro as he explained that he already had an electric type that he could use to introduce to Aqua, head bobbing along in a nod of approval. That was probably the easiest route to go; an electric type that the other man could control would make therapy sessions for the Vaporeon far easier than introducing her to anything outside his control or heaven forbid, a wild electric type. Wild pokemon were rough, they’d have no qualms about shell shocking the poor thing further. Again the deaf man scribbled a note on the paper for Alejandro, 'That’s good! I’m sure you’ll find the time when you can introduce the two; I can tell she already knows you want the best for her. Enough time and patience and she’ll get that trust back.' Assuming she didn’t end up back in the hands of her previous trainer that is or if Alejandro wasn’t what he appeared to be.
Sullivan’s expression was sullen at the remark concerning the authorities, though he gave a little nod of understanding all the same. If Alejandro’s story was true, then he couldn’t entirely blame him for the lack of faith in the police and the outcomes that might follow if he did go reporting. It was a shame though; even if the other blue haired man didn’t consider them reliable, they had a far greater reach than anyone else. He wasn’t in a position to argue though.
Junpei nipped at the back of his heels to catch his attention, giving him an expectant look. It seemed the pup was getting a little restless just standing about. He glanced down thoughtfully before nodding and looking back to Alejandro. 'Anyways, I think you’ll do alright. Just don’t go getting into any more trouble, that won’t make it easier for her,' he gave a little bit of a joking grin, 'I need to get moving though. Let me know if you need any kinda medical advise,' and with that he scribbled his number down and handed it off to Alejandro. Hopefully it was clear he meant like.. Texting or something. Phone calls would be missed. With that he gave a little wave once all was finished. It’d be best if he headed for the center again to double check some things now that he considered it…

Sullivan arrived back in the pokemon center, but was quickly distracted by a small gaggle of people gathered around a large poster on the wall. They seemed to be chattering delightfully amongst one another and once they’d cleared away he took the time to look as well.
A Spookival? The blue haired man had tilted his head curiously as he read over the information. Some sort of festival for the Halloween season it seemed. Was it that time of the year? Boy he’d lost track of time. He considered it for a moment; it’d be a nice place to go, enjoy some games and just have a nice time. He’d promised his mother he’d stay out of trouble for a little while until things had settled down; why not keep his promise while having a little fun?
A grin crossed Sullivan’s face and he glanced down to Junpei, signing to him curiously for confirmation. The Rockruff eyed him curiously and then the poster, shuffling in place before giving a bark and wagging his tail happily. He might’ve not known in full what it was Sullivan wanted to do but he was always about supporting his trainer.
Great! That was all the confirmation that Sullivan really needed. He eyed the poster again and then directed his attention to the group of people once more. They’d made their way over to a ghoulish looking attendant with a Gengar at his side, the group chatting with the individual before they gave a whirl of their hand and the people disappeared.
Sullivan tilted his head, notepad still in hand as he approached the man. The attendant grinned in his direction, an off putting one that was made to look lopsided due to the facial paint he sported. ”Helllooo my friend. Interested in the fair? Spooks and thrills for one and all!” Sullivan blinked, having a hard time following the man’s words; was he speaking with an accent? Quickly he scribbled a simple ‘yes’ on the notebook, earning himself an odd look before the attendant gave a quick nod. ”Very well very well! Gypsee please, send out friend along! Take care dear boy, and don’t lose your head!” The man laughed and the young man made a face, scooping up Junpei in his arms for security before the pair were whisked away by the powers of the Gengar assistant.

Sullivan had given Alejandro his number so he could call - well, text - if he needed any medical help. He appreciated that. He waved to Sullivan as they parted way. Sullivan headed for the center and Alejandro...didn't really know where to go next. The second gym (at least, he was pretty sure it was the second) was in Cerulean, which would be a great place to start, but he didn't know what type of gym it was. Still, it would be nice to move on regardless. Best way to find out was to actually go to Cerulean City."C'mon. Time for us to get going."
