I'm taking over for Spec for a bit~ Hope you don't mind! : )
Leader Brock
Brock nodded his head as he put his hands on his hips, observing his opponents choice. "Hmm, a water type... Good choice," he murmured, though it seemed to be more he was talking to himself, even if it was a fairly audible comment. He lifted his head, voice booming as he gave his next command. "Geodude! Use Magnitude!" he commanded. It was a gamble, but it ultimately paid off. "Good job Geodude!" he called as the pokemon slammed its hands into the groudn, and the earth began to shake violently. Brock crouched down, keeping his balance, accustomed to the effects of his pokemon's attacks. Luckily, the stage took the brunt of the force.
Battle Summary Brock sent out Geodude! William sent out Agate, the Feebas!

The world shook in response to Geodude's punch on the ground it in such intensity was such that William was unable to stand and had long fell down on the ground. It was terrifying to see his opponent's first move had that much power. He could hear the rattling of rocks around them threatening to dislodge itself from the ground. he feared that any of them might actually hit him. "What. is. that?" William said while coughing due to all the dust in the air. "isn't that a bit much for first strike," he pointed out. Agate was quite shaken, but standing firm. He could tell the pokemon was rather shocked by the intensity of the attack. it worried him. If it was already like this on their first turn. What a way to crush someone's confidence. "Can you continue?" William asked his pokemon. He won't force her to fight. "fee! feebas" Agate huffed in response, seemingly disapprove. A no, then. "Alright. Start with Icy Wind," he called out his order. The feebass jumped then unleashed a frigid blast of air into the field. The attack did wonder to geodude much like how the magnitude did to Agate. Emboldened by the fact and momentary pause, William took the chance,"Again, Agate," he told her. Once more frigid air filled the field.

Leader Brock
Brock stood tall, despite the young boy's uncertainty. He frowned in sympathy, getting his footing properly once the attack had faded. "That was Magnitude! It's a ground shattering move, isn't it?" he explained, "Sorry to shake you up so fast, but you gotta start strong if you want to get a heavy lead!" He dropped his arms, frowning in concern for his pokemon as Geodude was quickly struck with multiple attacks, and sighed as it collapsed, chilled, and unable to move on. "It's alright, Geodude, you did well," he explained, tossing the ball up once the pokemon had been returned. "Looks like you can come back in spite of a strong lead after all," he remarked, catching the ball, and tucking it away. "Guess it's your turn, Onix!" he urged, tossing the ball out. The large pokemon appeared with a roar, throwing its head across before setting its opponent with a stare. "Go ahead and use Rock Tomb!"

Brock's second pokemon was an onix. A freaking onix. William stared. He was internally screaming. An onix. for a first badge gym challenge. He couldn't see how children with pidgey or ratata or well, most small, common pokemon could handle this giant stone snake. ". . . you have high expectation toward newbie," he settled to say. William returned Agate with a word of "Good job,Agate. You have earned a break." The pokemon was holding to consciousness on sheer will, he couldn't possibly ask her to continue. He sent out his bulbasaur next. He knew that physical prowess won't cut it with a pokemon that big. "Sleep powder," he made tactical choice.
The onix, however, executed its move without moving an inch from its place. Multiple rocks materialized in the air before it simultaneously crashed down. jasper made valiant effort to dodge the incoming rocks, but with the size and amount of them, jasper had to run at length to dodge even one of them, one sent him off balance and that one mistake cost him. He was surrounded by rocks. Thankfully sleep powder doesn't require physical contact, so jasper shot out the powder upward, scattering them into the air.

Leader Brock
Brock's expression hardened some as he took in William's reaction. The boy seemed to be taken aback, but Brock lifted his head, offering a reassuring grin. "Don't worry, even the most powerful, imposing pokemon have their weaknesses," he assured him. In fact, Onix was often easy to take out, with either of its. Most trainers came through and took his poor pokemon out pretty fast with those moves, in fact. Brock lifted his head some as William proved to, apparently, not be one of those. Interesting. Unfortunately though, Brock knew he would have to wait for the right opportunity to try and stir Onix. He just hoped he lasted long enough...

It didn't make it less daunting, William said within his mind. A sleeping onix was admittedly better than awake. It gave Jasper time to get out from the rock tomb, capable once more to attack. "Vine whip, Jasper," William told him. The bulbasaur extended his whip and slammed them at the onix's face with a crack. It was something he had told Jasper to aim for the weakest area, in onix's case, it seemed that Jasper deemed its face a better target than joints. "ouch," he winced in sympathy. That got to be hurt.

The onix woke up with a roar. There was no doubt that it was very upset. Jasper returned its glare with deviance of his own. He was ready this time when onix brought rock tomb down upon him once more. Though he took damage from them, he isn't trapped this time. William knew that this attack would be the last his pokemon would be able to give him, so he chose. "Vine whip," William ordered for their strongest attack once more. He blinked when Jasper glowed green and it extended to the vine. The vines slammed with much more force than expected unto the onix and it was enough to take the onix down. Well, now he was sorry that the attack had much more strength than necessary, but he was sure onix won't get up from that.

After awhile of wandering around and pretty much window shopping with Michael while Javier hung back to deal with calls from work, his parents had to leave. Alejandro stared at them blankly with his arms crossed like a child on the verge of a tantrum. Javier laughed at that and handed him the box."I shouldn't after what you told us about Alola, but this will just gather dust and your agent will be furious if we gave the Pokemon she found for you to someone else.""A Pokemon from her? That's weird. She never sends gifts to anyone, let alone me.""She wasn't going to, but it's apparently very rare and something you've always wanted your hands on. See you later, Kitty. Make sure to call us, okay?"Alejandro rolled his eyes but promised he would before looking down at the box. Reina and Aqua looked up at it curiously, too, all of them wanting to know what was in it."It's heavy. Must be a lot of stuff. Well, time to get looking. Let's find a place to sit first."

Lol, that's usually how this battle goes. x4 weakness to grass and water is a killer when they're two of the starter type options. xD
Leader Brock
It seemed that the rock tomb was not enough to take out the feisty bulbasaur. To make matters worse, now that it was down to it's last bit of HP, it's overgrow kicked in and dealt extra damage to onix. "Woah!" Brock held up his arms as the massive rock snake fell to the ground. There was no question he would stay down this time. It was something Brock had seen time and time again with trainers coming from Oak's lab. Thankfully witnessing it so often also meant that he didn't have to worry about Onix. He was down for the count, that was for sure, but he would survive. He was a tough pokemon. "Good job onix, you deserve some rest." Brock sighed, but he was still smiling even though he'd lost.
"Not bad, not bad at all. So what'd you think? Gym battles aren't so scary after all huh?" Brock insisted as he approached William and gave the boy a congratulatory pat on the back. That wasn't all William would receive as his victory spoils, however. Brock also handed the boy his badge and a TM for good measure. "Here you go, you've earned it." Brock nodded encouragingly.

Pleased with her newly hatched fluffball of dark energy, Azalea made her way out of the pokemon center, humming happily. "Lessee.... Should probably get you trained up, shouldn't I my little abomination? Then I can really see the results of my research." Azalea suggested, coddling the danshen in her arms as it gurgled contently. The names she used were somewhat backhandedly affectionate, but the baby danshen didn't really know what they really meant. All it knew was that it's "momma" was saying them in an affectionate tone, so perhaps they were good things.
Given that the danshen was just a hatchling though, it might be better for it to watch and observe a battle first before jumping right in. "Alright then.... Who's the unlucky numbskull I'mma havta pound...." Azalea scanned the area and her eyes fell on a blue haired man who seemed to have a fondness for open shirts. "Alright Glori, let me show ya how it's done." The danshen in her arms crooned curiously, one eye looking up at her and then towards Alejandro.
Confidently, Azalea strode over towards the male to the beat of her blaring headphones, waving her arm with the sick menacing swag of a team skull grunt. "Hey bonehead. What's in the box? Hand it over, and maybe I'll think about letting you walk away scott free." She sneered. Honestly she didn't actually care about the box or it's contents, but she did want to represent Team Skull, and force a battle. If her threats didn't do it, and he ran away like a little girl, well, then he was definitely overcompensating for something with his show of skin.

Alejandro and his two little felines hadn't even gotten a chance to find a bench or someplace to sit and unpack the ridiculous package his parents put together for him. Well, they did get a chance, but it wasn't a very significant one because maybe a minute into their relatively simple search, they were interrupted by some random punk. A lady punk nonetheless. Alejandro looked at her blankly as she gave her demands, clearly unamused and unaffected by them."If you think I'm going to let some scrawny a** b***h steal from me, you've got another thing coming."He'd happily give her a fight, though. It was about time he had someone to beat up after what happened with Aqua's old trainer.

Azalea couldn't help but give a small smirk as Alejandro resisted. Good, so he wasn't some sniveling wimp. This would be fun then. "Well, then it's gonna suck when this scrawny b***h kicks your sorry a**." Azalea taunted, glancing at Nightshade and giving a jerk of her head. The hellhound happily lept forward and growled menacingly, smoke hissing from his maw. "There. Now it's a fair fight." Azalea suggested with her continued detached but smug confidence. He should be grateful that she was putting herself at a type disadvantage. Then again, that was only assuming he'd be using the vaporeon at his side. If he didn't plan on using her, well.... His loss. She was trying to even the odds.

She was a bit overconfident, wasn't she? Well, he'd just have to beat her then. Alejandro couldn't risk losing to her. It'd be embarrassing to be weaker than a woman. Alejandro watched as she quietly sent the fire mutt at her side and rolled his eyes at his display of aggression, though more in amusement than anything else. Trainer traits really did pass to Pokemon then. He'd be horrified if any of his cats turned out like him....Except Cazador and Destello. They were like him enough already."Por....""Here. Why don't you guard this for me, Aqua? The rest of us will take care of her."Alejandro set the box down and watched as both his Pokemon jumped up to sit on it. He snorted before standing and grabbing another ball and turning his attention back to his current rival."Come on out, Pooka."The little Rock-type popped out of her ball and ran in a circle around his feet before noticing the Houndoom. He really had to train her priorities at some point, but he had to admit it was kind of cute."Bet you were thinking I was going to use Vaporeon. Sorry, but she's not ready to fight anything yet. Go ahead and start this off strong with a Rock Throw."
"We won," William said as he watched the onix being returned. He couldn't believe that he had done it. He had won his first badge. "Yeah, it's not once i got absorbed in the fight," he replied to Brock who had crossed the field. He forgot about his nervousness when his thought was full of how to help his pokemon win their fight. Still, they had close call despite holding massive advantage. Both his pokemon was on their last leg when they delivered finishing move. For now though, he basked in feeling accomplished as he held the badge with awe, his other prize pale in comparison. "Thank you, that was a great match," William told Brock in gratitude. "Jasper, Look!" he then ran off to show his badge to his bulbasaur. "We Won!" he beamed. He could do it after all, being a trainer."It calls for celebration! Good job Jasper!" he praised and had picked up the bulbasaur into a hug. It took him awhile to calm down and bid Brock goodbye. Jasper safely returned.
