O beautious Khamaith, I would fly to the ends of Pern-- Odunith's paean to the gold was interrupted by a sudden updraft. The surprisingly strong burst of wind caught the bronze by surprise, pushing him back and up. A swirl of red spun in his eyes now, and he snarled at the sky as he pumped his wings to regain control of his flight. With a few powerful wing beats he was back in pursuit of Khamaith. Not even the skies themselves will keep me from you!

On the ground, R'yat found himself right where he wanted to be: in the knot of flightlust-driven riders surrounding the gold's rider. Smirking to himself, he used his dancer's training to maneuver himself through the throng toward his goal...

Once more Khamaith soared skyward, and once more Odunith pursued her. His hearts were pounding with the effort of keeping up with the red-gold shape in front of him, glistening in the rain. No poetry or sweet words now -- all was focused on the chase, on catching her, on making her his. And he would have her! The bronze's determination and lust increased, and he surged forward, breaking through the cloud layers, absolutely intent on winning...

R'yat finally spotted his prize in front of him. "Ezyzu..." he murmured thickly, reaching through the others in an effort to touch her....

Turoth barely had time to dwell on Khamaith's reply before the storm they were flying through suddenly kicked up, sending the gold tumbling and the dragons around her followed suit. Turoth used his size to his advantage as well as years of fighting Thread in similar situations as this, and he spread his massive wing sails to catch the breeze. He knew that eventually Khamaith would have to go up, so that was where he allowed the wind to take him. He began to feel a bit of burn in his shoulders as the wind persisted, but finally it died off enough to let everyone settle. He glanced down to the dragons below, ensuring everyone was fine, though his eyes sought out the flash of gold amid the browns and bronzes. Yes, she was fine.

Not a moment after finding Khamaith amid her suitors she called to them all, powerful wings beating and bringing her up like an arrow, past Turoth and through the clouds. He gave a trumpet of encouragement as he beat his wings to chase, blinded for a moment by the thick clouds before breaking free, the night sky studded with stars, the air cool, and Khamaith a shining beacon above him.

And the best they shall have, Khamaith. You will see to that. With a mother like her they already had half the genes needed to be powerful but compassionate fighters for Pern. Surely one among her suitors would be a good match. He felt that rising hope in his hearts that perhaps it would be him, and he beat his wings through his building exhaustion, straining to meet Khamaith's height.

I am here should you wish it, sweetest Khamaith, Turoth crooned softly. He hoped it would be their children that would soon be welcomed into the weyr and he kept close, ready to catch Khamaith should she choose him.

Uskatath He is a bronze who would probably suit High Reaches Weyr better than Western. That said, he remains out of a sense of duty--for now. He's judgmental, pompous, arrogant, and not entirely a friendly sort of bronze. He's all edges, and not afraid of a good fight. But he is a formidable Threadfighter and reliable (if unpleasant) wingmate.

N'sarl: He was once trouble, and even after Impression, hasn't gotten much better. He's considered transferring to High Reaches, but remains for now. He's aloof, rough-around-the-edges, and generally hard to get to know. He's slightly-less-pompous than his bronze, and can (quietly) do good things when the mood strikes.

(I am only playing to have fun and do NOT want to win Khamaith's flight! So please don't pick them. I do plan on creating them down the road.)

Tired already, Rheinoth? Though flying with a gold and her suitors took quite a bit of stamina - a resource he rather lacked - Tierboskath was still nothing but cheerful and light on the wing. Just because his wings ached didn't mean he was going to stop dancing, not when the main event was yet to come. I wouldn't want to take from dear Khamaith, but if you truly feel you cannot continue, I would be delighted to entertain you. That is, if you think you have enough left for me...

He wished Khamaith all luck and happiness in her choice, but privately - others were clamoring for attention, giving their all to be seen, to be heard, to be chosen, and he would not add to the noise.

About Tierboskath
As hedonistic as he is charming and clever, Tierboskath is all about living his life to the fullest, and what he wants above all is pleasure. He is nonetheless a gentle fellow, and happy enough to help out where needed, particularly in low-risk situations (and where they might be a pleasant reward or benefit in store).

About Rio
Friendly, ever-helpful, and an incorrigible but playful flirt, Rio loves people, and he loves love. Though his dragon's hedonism has only deepened and reinforced his own, he's good-natured to his core, and ever the gentleman...just a fun one. (Semi-available! AKA is a package deal with Alya and Isilje on this occasion.)

The bronze dragon had nothing more to say to the Queen. He wasn't stupid, and he wouldn't deny he thought her foolish for believing so readily that any of these bronzes or browns cared an iota for her. If they had been so awestruck and in love, why hadn't they been cooing over her as she'd grown? So she'd entertained a white--what threat was a mere white? Bai would never Khamaith what she wanted, even if he possessed her hearts.

But Uskatath wasn't here to make this any more complicated. It was Khamaith's choice--it would always be that--but perhaps the queen wasn't ready for a dose of hard reality. He was here to fight Thread and protect those who could not protect themselves from The Enemy. He might not give her pretty compliments, but he wasn't going to back down.

He wasn't ashamed of who he was, and if Khamaith didn't pick him, than so be it. There would be other flights, other golds, and the only dragon ensured a future full of offspring was the very queen herself.

So onward he chased, though even he struggled against the wind. Blown off course, the large dragon hissed in irritation, snapping at any dragon that accidentally got too close. Even as he struggled to right himself, up shot Khamaith, higher and higher.

Tapping into his reserves, the large beast strained himself to keep up. It wasn't over until it was over.

Spurth: Energetic and confident, this bronze is a friendly guy. Determined and demnding, particularly of En'cai. He has very high expectations and can be very hard on himself if he fails to meet them, but he doesn't sulk. He just gets up and tries again. He also possesses quite a sense of humor and enjoys playing, whether that's romping in the lake or racing or chasing in a Flight.

En'cai: Not nearly as intimidating as he might look at first glance, En'cai is tall (6'5") and broad and carries a lot of muscle, but he is very rarely angry or threatening. He's just really good at doing the literal heavy lifting and sometimes is a little more enthusiastic than he needs to be. Perpetually late, despite his best efforts.

NPC Spurth and En'cai

Encouragement! It was the encouragement Spurth needed to fight his way back through the wind, to close a little distance ... just in time to be caught by the same rough wings and tossed around a bit himself. His frustration at wavering, however, didn't dampen his spirits at all. Far from discouraging him, it just encouraged him to try harder. Though he was starting at a disadvantage, he beat hard with his wings and stretched his neck out and crooooned his promise: I will follow you anywhere.

Aleyath plunged forward, silent for a time as he fought to contain any extraneous use of energy. He tucked his wings in close when the wind picked up, splaying them wide once he had worked out how to use the gust to his advantage. Racing after Khamaith, he burst through the clouds so quickly that faint trails of vapor lingered at his headknobs and down his pale spines. The brown drew up to the pack with a dexterous roll, his voice full of giddy candor.

I know you'd never be mean, Khamaith, but I wanna thank you for... making me think about things. My future. And stuff. Again.

He had surely never told her about the first time she'd nudged his thoughts in an unexpected direction, nor was he being entirely forthcoming now, but he kind of had other things on his mind. Aleyath spun again, pulling away but remaining nearby. Good luck.

The last was barely audible, lost in the muddle of devotion being directed at the gold.

Observing Baihath as he flopped and played, Talmaith took great care to keep the white in good spirits. Khamaith surely will win, yes, and then you shall have all the game you should wish. For indeed Khamaith was as inclined to entertaining Baihath as he. Hmm... yes, I think it's possible that some of them might want to play, little Bai. But perhaps not the sort of games you enjoy playing. Then again... some of them might want to try the quiet game. What do you think? Do you want to play the quiet game, Baihath?

While he had a great deal of joy himself chasing after such a playful queen, one that was putting the males chasing her through their paces to catch her, to earn that chance, Haezeth could sense just a touch of anxiety within her statement. Clearly it wasn't entirely directed towards himself, but the large bronze knew there might be one among those chasing who's words elicited such a response from her. That was no good at all.

Red flushed into the facets of his eyes as he looked around briefly for who might have been the one responsible for that p***k of anxiety and irritation that had colored her words. There was an obvious clue as to who might have brought the feeling on but there could have been more than one as well. An updraft of wind caught his wings and with a rumble of his own irritation, Haezeth beat his wings and cast his attention back to Khamaith where it belonged, allowing the glow of purple color his eyes once more as he pushed forward against the buffeting wind and rain.

I don't think it's such a surprise that you made it, you're a wonderful flier from everything that I've seen sweet Khamaith. In an attempt to ease the anxiety out of her words, out of her entirely, Haezeth sent a warm wave of comfort and adoration her way, for her honor and her joy. Khamaith was a kind queen and deserved kindness in return, not whatever she was having to react to.

With his attention back he cleaved up through the clouds and straight into the sky after her bright golden form. There was some slowing, things were about to come to a head and his wings flared, his claws open should she choose him. So high you've flown and the strength that you've shown us during the chase, you are incredible, beautiful queen. Though your heart belongs to one alone, should you need a strong pair of wings to take you back down to the ground safely, my strength is at your service.

[NPC] Bronze Hinokith

To be described so - the wind beneath her wings - was enough to make Hinokith's hearts flutter. Again there was a burst of joy from him, swooning devotion that he would happily blanket Khamaith in if she would accept it. He would happily be the wind beneath her wings as long as she wanted him to - whether it was only to support her until she chose another suitor or to raise children together or even more. He would never try to usurp the position of her precious white, of course. Anyone with eyes could see how she loved Baihath, and he certainly wouldn't try to take that from her.

Make sure they are worthy of you. You deserve the best for your first. Even if she didn't pick him - and he couldn't really blame her if she didn't, he'd been doing just terrible tonight - he wouldn't begrudge her whatever choice she made. She was a queen. Her duty to the Weyr was to choose a sire for a healthy clutch. If she felt someone else was better suited for that, how could he hold it against her?

Of course it was only moments later before Khamaith was buffeted back by an updraft that had Hinokith warbling in surprise. And only moments later he was caught in it as well, bugling with alarm as he was sent tumbling through the skies for a moment too long. He was distracted tonight - so focused on Khamaith that he could be caught so easily by an updraft, and it took him an achingly long moment to right himself, craning his neck to catch sight of the queen again after losing sight of her while tumbling through the air...

Hinokith is unmistakably large, both in terms of length and sheer bulk. He is powerfully built with a broad chest and enormous wingspan, but suffers a bit in speed and maneuverability due to his sheer size. In spite of his musculature, he has a particularly long head and neck crowned with elegant head knobs, matched by an equally long tail.
Positive Traits: Cheerful, loving, optimistic, loyal.
Negative Traits: Dramatic, oblivious, impulsive, headstrong.

T'bir is 32, prefers men, and is going to be staying in his weyr to stew in his lust alone. Don't expect to see him wandering the Weyr!
Positive Traits: Pragmatic, fiercely loyal, quick-thinking, composed.
Negative Traits: Quick-tempered, slow to trust, prideful, stern.
