As Akamu settled the younger lion down against a large stone he turned and spoke, his words were firm and full of concern. "Can you see me at all?" With one eye totally gone it was hard to gauge just how impaired his vision truly was. "If you can see me just nod your head." As the Firekin continued to check in on the pale adolescent his paws hurried to find something to help slow the bleeding, or at least ease the poor child's pain. "-here" his voice stammered as he quickly brought a paw full of dried leaves up to his eye. "Hold this here until I can find someone better suited to aid you." Slowly the large lion withdrew himself from the younger male's side, speaking as he turned away.

"Stay here, do not move, you will be safe until I return-" as he spoke his eyes narrowed, focusing on Kadaj who stood in the distance. It looked like the attacker had been driven back, that was good news for this boy at least. Akamu hoped he would be able to recover from this.

"Just wait, I will be back soon with help, I promise." With that said the Firekin reentered the battlefield and ran back to Kadaj's side.

Kaburi shot her brother a glare after hearing his words. She was the closest to a mother he would ever know! However, now was not the time to air their family dynamics. Now was the time to secure their future within the Stormborn - so their life could truly begin.

Her claw made contact with the Prince’s hind leg; and as it did she pressed the points into his flesh, she pulled the limb towards her sharply to try and offset his balance. With so many of the Stormborn piling onto him - his fall was only a matter of time.

Altuna knew she was weakening; and was not hot headed enough to ignore her relatives concern. Though she wanted to be the one to take out the Prince and claim the glory - she wanted to fight another day! She was young; there would be other opportunities for status and treasure.

Besides, what a first viking this was!

The girl jumped off of the Prince - backing away enough to keep out of the way, but close enough to watch their triumph!

Ajani gave a snarl as he was pinned, frustrated that he'd fallen into this position in the first place. He was sort of glad that neither his sister, Evadne or, Scar forbid, Ebbe had seen this, or he would never had lived it down. Well, Eva probably wouldn't have mentioned it, but it was the principle of the thing.

At Ciro's words though, the lion narrowed his eyes and glanced back at his opponent. The way his voice had sounded... but then the captain had removed himself from Ajani. As he stumbled back up to his feet, he turned around just in time to see the Stormborn disappear through the crowd.

With a frown on his face, he wondered what could have caught the lion's attention in such a way. It was almost as if....

He shook his head. He would put it to the back of his mind for now, perhaps ask Shetani about it later, though he made a mental note to be careful about that conversation.

In the meantime though, he needed to focus on the battle at hand. There was no point in chasing the other lion down. Instead, Ajani turned and made his way quickly into the crowd to continue the fight.

When they stopped moving, Kaoru felt his adrenaline waning. His ears were ringing, unable to fully comprehend the words Akamu said. He only nodded, even though it was untrue. Kaoru couldn't really see anything. It was a blur, or it was black. Sometimes it was a mixture of both.

There was a small pressure to his face as the red lion brought the dry leaves to his eye. He brought his paw to it, as Akamu moved away. Wait, where was he going?

Kaoru leaned against the rock, feeling incredible vulnerable. The male felt himself sliding down to the ground, his paw no longer holding the healing herbs to his wound. The adrenaline was fading, leaving nothing but pain in its place. With a final groan, Kaoru gave in to the darkness.

The numbers were stacked against the Prince of the Outlands. One thing the viking band had against the trained forces of the Outlands was numbers - even one as unskilled as Nariikhan could prove to be an asset. This was her first viking, and she had no prior experience before this. Yet, here she was, helping to defeat an enemy commander of some sort. She didn't quite know the male's station, but he was important enough to be protected.

It was a shame that the surrounding Stormborn were able to block Kethiwe off from his pride. They had found a weakness, and had exploited it mercilessly. Upon her tongue, Riikha could taste blood as she bit down onto Kethiwe. She was not driven by bloodlust towards battle, but instead driven by that intense need to prove her. Attor was watching, she could not afford to make a disgrace of herself here!

Most of her sisters had proven themselves to be valuable members of the Myrsky Syntynyt. It was now Riikha's chance to do the same.

His sister was without a doubt annoyed at him, but there was little Sinaan could or would do about it now. He was almost the typical brother, either not listening to a word Kaburi said or listening and doing the exact opposite of what she wanted. With all of them united in attacking Kethiwe, it was obvious the male's strength would not last. In time he would be pulled to the ground, and either someone would finish him off or make better use of him.

Sinaan hoped that either Kaburi or himself would be able to finish the Prince off. It would certainly give them a leg to stand on when petitioning to join the pride. Their reckless foray into the battle had not been without purpose, this was the home they craved.

The ground underneath him seemed to vibrate, soft enough that it went mostly unnoticed by the majority of the fighting lions. But he felt it, and with a worried expression turned to his sister he spoke, "Kaburi...?"

Shetani let out a curse as the world suddenly lurched around her before she could get close to Kethiwe. Stumbling around, she had to turn her focus away from him in order to get her footing again, and when it became apparent that the rumbling was only going to get worse, she had to scramble to get to somewhere solid once more.

They could not stay here any longer, that much was clear. All she could hope for was that someone closer had gotten to their Prince in time. She didn't like the idea, was sure that it would come back to haunt her later, but at the end of the day, there was nothing she could do. A point that was further emphasized by the crack opening up between her and the group she'd been heading towards.

Shaking her head, the Mind turned and scrambled her way back towards her pride. It was time to retreat.

The ground lurched underneath her, and it took all of Jupe's strength to prevent herself from being tossed into the same cavern her child had fallen down. She backed away from the opening in the earth quickly, and looked across the battlefield for her mate. If Kus'an was alive somehow, then this earthquake could damn well near be the end of him. There was no way to know for certain what fate had been inflicted upon her son, and she knew that she could not leave these lands without knowing. Jupe was a mother, and Kus'an was her son. She had no desire to give up on him yet.

But, she couldn't stay here. Rocks tumbled from the cliffs and the ground quaked underneath her. The vibrations ran through her bones and numbed her paws. These lands were no longer safe, and they risked losing whatever bounty they had won by staying her. Jupe gritted her teeth and cursed underneath her breath. She'd have to leave, wait for the lands to settle and then circle back to the border to look for Kus'an. It would be risky, but she would not abandon her child.

Knowing that Daijur would make it out safely on his own, Jupe followed the vikings as they retreated out of the Ukulhwa'Izwe. She would have to let Daijur know what happened to their son, but for now her own safety was a priority.

The largest male Nariikhan had ever seen closed in on Kethiwe, and like the others around her she backed away to let him deal with the Crown Prince. She had seen the male only in passing on the Viking, but his presence had always seemed to command respect. He wasn't nearly as handsome as Attor, so fancying him had never crossed Nariikhan's mind.

Daijur had subdued the Prince completely when suddenly an earthquake struck. She hadn't even felt the ground vibrate until it shook. Riikha was brought down onto her belly with her ears pinned back, gritting her teeth out of fear as the ground roared underneath her. The battle the two armies had thrown themselves into was thoroughly disrupted - there was no way it could continue with the very earth throwing its weight into the mix.

At first she crawled away from the Outlanders, keeping her belly low to the ground so that she could keep up a steady retreat. As the Stormborn began to flee in earnest, she found the courage to rise to her feet and follow them away from the earth stained by blood.

When the earthquake hit, Sinaan was one of the few who was not completely taken by surprise. The ground had moved mysteriously under his paws earlier, so when it shook in earnest the green male was able to steady himself on his feet. A black-coated Stormborn had effortlessly subdued the opponent him and his sister had helped to take down. Instead of leaving the Prince for dead, they were ordered to take the unconscious lion with them.

Sinaan had already made his choice from the moment he had entered this fight with his sister. They were going to join the stronger pride, and it was clear that the Stormborn were the best option. "Kaburi, help me!" he spoke out to his sister before he leaned down next to Kethiwe. With a small amount of struggle, he managed to get the prince's front legs over his back. He was one the few still left strong enough to help carry the Prince away from these lands.

He just needed to mold naturally into the fold, and his sister and himself would undoubtedly be welcomed into the pride. Sinaan carried the prince forward, easing himself into the pride as if he always been a part of it.

Akamu
-Outlander

Akamu had arrived back in time to help retrieve his wounded companion, Kadaj was older so this fight had taken a deeper toll on the Claw. Still, not once had the Outlander turned tail, even after being injured by Maya. "Come on old man, let's get out of here-" the Firekin chuckled as he allowed Kadaj to rest his whole weight against him. It was hard to see what had happened between the time he left to now, but something about this felt wrong. Where was the Prince? Kadaj wasn't saying much. What had happened? Worry eyes would follow his tired friend as the pair walked side by side.

"Come on, let's get out of here, Sia and Tiah are waiting for you." With his final words Akamu escorted Kadaj from the battlefield.

Gudina had been beaten by the older male but his side had won the sounds of victory for the Stromborn were easy to hear. He pulled himself up, someday he would become a seasoned warrior and be able to defeat any enemy. He wasn't sure why the older male had left him alive, but he would not look a gift gazel in the mouth. He picked himself up and joined the rest of his pride to go home with their prizes. He wished he had played a larger role in the war but not everyone could be the hero of the day. He had fought and done his part for the pride now he would return home to take his place as a reaver.

Thalia was sad and unsure what to do with herself her mistress was dead and the crown prince of their people was being taken away. Treasures of the pride were being taken away, she hadn't learned anything that could help her people this was a dark days of sadness. She felt so lost gliding on the breeze, she had no one to serve and while that should have made her feel free it only made her feel hallow. She flew towards the heart of their territory to see what pieces could be picked up.
