Blurb: Byu was once an anxious coward, driven to skittishness by visions he could neither control nor shake. He always skirted the social world along its fringes, up until the Nergui found, beat, and brainwashed him into complete submission. Trauma settled like a lead blanket, and whatever Byu was before his enslavement was successfully lost. In its place there is only a numbness.

Byu has survived by running on auto-pilot. One part instinct, one part submission. Layers upon layers of conditioned behavior have made him an agreeable follower, neutral to any given emotion he is presented with. Want him to watch the cubs? He will do so to the best of his ability. Task him with something a bit more sketchy? He will perform without question. He has no opinions that stray too far from whomever he is conversing with, and he rarely expresses himself by choice. To those of superficial ideals, he comes off as dull and subservient to a fault. Just a husk of a lion. And in many ways he is dangerously close to being just that, so far beyond burying his feelings that he has nearly eradicated the ability to feel altogether. But, perhaps the more empathetic will be able to sense his deep-seeded fear; yet to be processed. His great suppression and the strain it puts on his mind and body.

...His memory is, fortunately and unfortunately, very sharp and his visions persistent. But he is prone to keeping those attributes secret...


Extra: He would have been aimlessly wandering the rogue lands after his pride, the Nergui, crumbled. He didn't so much as escape as he was simply left behind... Depending on who he meets 'at the front gate' and how that interaction goes, this could be the first sign of 'good luck' that he has... probably ever experienced. <3 He needs this. lol
