Zak chuckled a bit, flashing Apollo another smirk at the playful remark. "Fair enough," he conceded, turning and looking at him with some consideration. He noticed -- and honestly appreciated -- the innocence of the offer, though of course he kept things playful. "Well, zat depends, is zere a Jacuzzi?" he joked back. Running a hand back through his hair, he reached for the pokeball he'd already pulled out, surprisingly having seemed to actually sort of wait for some sort of confirmation from Apollo on being able to release the pokemon. Tossing Ten's pokebll over his shoulder, it released the pokemon, and bounced back. He kicked his feet a little higher to reach up and catch it, before tossing it back to his bag, and drifting from the bridge again.
"Hm? ... I don't really know. I haven't kept count, especially after zose pokemon you vonderfully gifted to me," he replied back with another half grin, "How about you?" Honestly, Zak tried to keep his hoard of pokemon pretty small, though he was rotating through some of them to get the younger, and weaker ones, trained at the moment. Which means he at least had more than one team's worth...
Meebus seemed to nod, simply, to Rotom's concession. He followed, looking around at the temple, and then let his gaze follow back to his friend after the battle. ".... It would seem so. Possibly for some sort of... ritual or belief?" He was guessing. In all his time, he'd never really bothered looking up the historical purpose of this place. "Or perhaps to honor a legendary, or summon it?" he added in consideration. It was odd... looking up at this... it reminded him he actually enjoyed learning. It was actually fun for him. He would have enjoyed learning the purpose and history of this building, yet... he hadn't. He was always focused on something else, all the time, something always had his attention....
He turned, looking back towards the ocean, out of the buidling through the door, watching to see Ten now swimming around, close to the two trainers, and fell silent, his head slightly tilted in thought.

"I didn't have the time to check," Apollo answered, attention briefly drawn to his pokemon back on the bank, already engaging in battle; good, now he could feel like a proper trainer again. "Zak. Don't tell me you're just going to use me for my jacuzzi?" Keeping his grin even after the teasing statement, his expression naturally relaxed after several seconds had passed and he reflected on the evening, casually watching Zak as he released his pokemon; it was nice, much nicer than he'd expected, even.

If he remembered correctly he'd given Zak... three pokemon: a Mudkip, Froakie, and that devil bird a Rufflet. "I've lost count," Apollo admitted, and internally he groaned at his incompetence. He had far too many pokemon, it felt like, on him, in the PC, and in the... day... care.

That made... sense, sort of, though that led him to begin thinking about just how the fleshies had managed to build such a tower, and how long ago. Though the idea of honoring a certain legendary, a logical idea that Meebus brought up, now bounced around in his head. "7h3y m16h7 h4v3 l3f7 b3h1nd 50m3 clu35 45 70 wh1ch l363nd4ry 7h3y w3r3 7ry1n6 70 h0n0r (They might have left behind some clues as to which legendary they were honoring)..." he suggested, then turned to look at Meebus, who at that point was looking back outside. The first level was boring, with nothing more than broken pillars and rubble, and it was |20+0|/|'s hope that they could find something more interesting, the higher they climbed.

Zak smirked. "I vould never. I'm a man of substance," he replied, with so much sarcasm it almost overwhelmed the light, joking tone he used. At least he could own up to it; he knew he was superficial, though the fact that he was just fine with that might have actually made it all a bit worse... He floated on his back and glanced at Ten as she happily and curiously weaved through the water, but glanced back at Apollo as he continued talking. "Vell enough," he replied, shifting a bit and moving over closer to his pokemon, "Most if not all of zem have evolved. I'm actually still training some of zem now, I think..." He paused, eying Apollo thoughtfull a moment. "How many badges do you have?" He couldn't help but ask, after all. Not so much to be competitive, like usual, but he was curious. Apollo didn't seem like the most... focused trainer, but he'd been doing this a while, at least, it seemed.
Shrugging, he moved to float again, before getting up, and swimming over to grab a beer. "Do you play any sports?" he asked curiously, popping the cap off, before flashing a smirk and jokingly guessing, "Like vater a-polo?" If he'd been seriously trying to be funny, or even punny, and not his usual sarcasm, that might have deserved a punch in the face. In fact, it still might have.
Meebus turned back to Rotom as he mused, and asked if he wanted to go higher. Honestly, he had no particular desire either way, but because his friend seemed to have some interest, he gave a nod. "Sure," he replied simply, a bit more casually than usual. He was just... a little distracted. He turned and glanced back as Boo came whizzing in, humming happily, and darting about before going up as well. he glanced at Rotom, to read his reaction, before moving to float upstairs.

Apollo nodded his head agreeably, all while trying, and failing, to hold back a smile, "I would expect nothing less from you." He disguised a laugh behind an abrupt throat clearing before he turned his gaze skyward, an absentminded curiousness reflected in his eyes, and watched one of the darker colored clouds lazily float by. "I'd say I'm surprised, but I'd be lying," he commented, in reference to Zak's update on his pokemon; he seemed the dedicated type. So, at the very least, he could say that he'd made the right decision in giving those pokemon to Zak. "I've got three right now." Apollo looked back down, and specifically to Zak, before he pushed himself back in the water. "Though, I'll be be taking on the fourth gym leader in... the next few days," he added. The right corner of his mouth lifted up in a half-smile, "Care to take a few more of my pokemon? They would be able to train, for once." He was joking, as his tone indicated. Though...
"Hm." Apollo, taken aback by the pun, took a few seconds to comprehend that Zak had been the one to say, before he acknowledged it with a snort, and a lazy splash of water directed at him. "I'll pretend you didn't just say that," he mused, as genuinely amused as he was. "I was never dedicated enough to join any teams, but I play a few: basketball, baseball, soccer every now and then," he listed idly. "What about you?" If he had to guess he'd say basketball, because... well, Zak was tall.
|20+0|\/| tipped his head, a motion that could be assumed was a nod, only to jump back, face turning yellow to match his surprised expression, when Boo suddenly appeared. Face tinting red he watched her disappearing form, then turned to look at Meebus, who... was... already looking at him. He flushed in embarrassment, opened his mouth to explain, before closing it and trailing after the other pokemon up to the next floor. "1 7h0u6h7 5h3 w45 4n 3n3my (I thought she was an enemy)..." he muttered, explaining his reaction to... himself.

Mila's eyes narrowed upon Vandal's response, but, as was the census of her mood, she did so teasingly. "I didn't say you had to frown," she challenged. "You just don't have to always smile." It made him look like he was always thinking of something smart to say, or he was enjoying an inside joke, at least that was how Mila interpreted it. And, because he was a dark type, it wasn't like she could read his mind to argue differently; not that she'd waste her time in trying to read his mind. "And you act like I would let you whisk me away," she countered, and gave his cheek one last squeeze, for good measure.
Not surprised in the slightest that Vandal would turn her ribbing into a legitimate compliment, Mila only rolled her eyes. Though, she would agree with him on his affinity for the thespian world. "Now that, I might pay money to see," she admitted. "Though, that brings up the question, would it be an original play? Written and directed by you?" Because if that was the case she would definitely pay money to see it. Money she didn't have, as she was quick to point out when Vandal led them to a sushi restaurant. "Mhm, sure you do..." she drawled, clearly an unbeliever.
Hungry and looking to Vandal for his response, the last thing she expected was for the Zoroark to be sent sprawling to the ground by an attack. Swallowing back her more colorful language, she rushed to his side without a second thought. "Are you alright?!" She placed a hand onto his back, urging him to stand if he could, though she kept her eyes straight ahead, to where his attacker now stood. Mila glared at the approaching pokemon, eyes filled with rage and her body growing hot as she prepared to defend the both of them. That anger and murderous intent only doubled when a red-headed woman approached, the only human who hadn't run away, and spoke directly to Vandal. She looked exactly like the illusion Vandal had conjured up when they first met.
Connecting the dots didn't exactly soothe Mila, but it prevent her from burning the b***h and her pokemon alive. Instead she grit her teeth, and breathed through her nose, the air around her growing frightfully warm with each forced exhale, and listened to the conversation. One that left a bad taste in her mouth and only sent her anger soaring while her opinion on Vandal's trainer plummeted well beyond the negatives. Her paw twitched when he made moves to leave, and with half a mind to just demand he stay it took all of her willpower to keep her paw by her side, and not pull Vandal back. Because this was his choice, his decision to go with this woman. "...Bye," she pushed the word out, body tense and voice shaking from barely controlled anger. She wasn't angry with Vandal, but her anger had reached nondiscriminatory levels.
So, it felt good to lash out at someone who deserved it. "If you ever attack Vandal again, it'll be your face in the ground instead of his," she hissed, projecting her voice via telekinesis so that both parties could hear her promise. Mila wrapped her arms around her torso, hugging herself, and watched as the redheaded woman left, and it wasn't until she and her ride pokemon were but specks in the sky did she release herself. As her body shook with anger Mila closed her eyes, drawing in air at a face pace in a bid to calm herself down, but it was no use. Her anger wouldn't be exonerated through simple breathing techniques. Seeing as she'd been left with no appetite, the only thing she could think to do was find somethings (plural) to beat down.
There was a bit of cathartics in violence, wasn't there?

Zak smirked. Ah, Apollo was stroking his ego... how generous of him. Pleasantly enough, it didn't feel particularly angled, like he was doing it with a particular goal or interest in mind. He was just doing it because it was... maybe in his nature? Or sincere. Possibly both. Ultimately, very much the opposite of Zak, which was demonstrated by the deadpan look he gave Apollo when it registered that the man was referring to having only three... badges. He quirked an eye and looked away when he realized his own expression, before flashing a smirk to recover from it. "Vell, if you'd ever like any help vis training, I'd be happy to help," he purred back playfully, hopefully covering up for his... less than supportive, initial, reaction. He was pretty sure Apollo had been doing this for at least a bit, even before he'd given him that first pokemon, way back when. And yet, only three badges... but perhaps that sort of thing just wasn't at the top of his priorities.
He laughed at the joke, flashing another grin. "I can't promise zey vould, given I need to train my own already, but I'm not sure they vould listen to you if I did end up training to them, after," he warned playfully, yet still in his... terribly over confident way. He wasn't trying to be boastful, but hey, his pride was more or less inflated from the conversation, and he certainly wasn't backing down from adding to it a bit.
Zak's smirk died down more to an understanding, though unapologetic one as Apollo took in his pun. Yeah, that was a rare form of humor for him, but it was so dry it... was still sort of him? It was sarcastic. Obviously. Meebus blinked simply when Rotom looked back at him, and noticed him observing his reaction to Boo's appearance. His visage flickered slightly, but he simply continued to look... though... gosh, something seemed to briefly, almost, tug at... just a tiny microbite of his facial features.... Turning, he headed upstairs, remaining quiet, and looking around as they emerged on the next floor. "... Have you ever wanted to go anywhere, |20+0|/|?" he asked, suddenly, turning to the other, his voice calm and nonchalant as ever, "Somewhere specific?"

Apollo snorted at the deadpan Zak gave him, if his current mood had a face... that would be it. "It's fine," he assured. "It's pretty pathetic." So, when Zak offered to help him with training... he considered it. He'd never thought he'd ever need help with such a task, you just had to have your pokemon find wild pokemon or some trainer, but between his illness, distractions, and just lack of motivation... "I'll keep that in mind. Would you charge me for your services?" Apollo teasingly asked, doing his best to brighten himself back up and slip back into a more relaxed sense of self. Even if he wasn't moving at a pace satisfying to even himself, at least he was... trying to get back out there. He really was going to go for that fourth badge once he finished up with Zak, and that was something.
Apollo listened to Zak's warning, considered it, but ultimately he cracked a smile. He pulled himself up, for the sole purpose of swimming back to the bridge so he could grab a beer; he was the one who'd paid for them (not that he minded in the slightest), the least he could do was drink. "It'll be a small price to pay, to have them actually be active," Apollo finally spoke, after swallowing down a healthy amount of alcohol. He'd be mindful of how much he drank, he didn't need to get drunk and drown; that'd be a sad ending to the day... and his life.
As 'pained' as Apollo had been, upon being subjected to Zak's pun, he'd at least say he'd heard worse. So much worse, and on more than one occasion. Hell, he'd heard much worse puns, on more than one occasion, all within a minute. He missed Tanner, he'd have to call him soon. "I'd be lying if I said I was surprised," the bright-haired male, jokingly, admitted, turning his thoughts away from puns and to basketball; it was a less cringe-worthy subject anyhow. He shrugged his shoulders. "Enough to know the game, I suppose, and play it moderately well." He certainly wasn't a pro player, but he definitely wasn't the worst. "Interested in playing a game?" Apollo assumed, a grin growing.
Still recovering from his slight embarrassment, |20+0|\/| took his time in exploring what little he could, upon their arrival to the second floor. Of course, his 'exploration' was limited to a specific area, aka: wherever Meebus roamed. "60 4nywh3r3 (Go anywhere)?" He repeated the words slowly, mind already conjuring up an answer. He took his time, however, and kept his eyes on the ground as he did so. Zak smirked a bit, though he tried to give Apollo a more dubious look, like he wasn't sure if he was supposed to agree that it was pathetic -- which.... eeehhh.... a little bit -- or argue it to be polite. Which, y'know... wasn't really his style. Zak laughed. "Maybe after a bit, but ze first few vould be free. I owe you for zose pokemon, after all," he pointed out in return, smirking still. Not that he'd minded having someone give him free stuff. He didn't consider himself exactly in debt, either, despite it, but it did give him more leeway and generosity towards Apollo than he had by default with people. And that was regardless of his mood, whereas most would have to catch him in a good mood to get anything at all.
Lapsing into silence, Zak drifted through the water to grab another beer, popped it open and drank for a while. Finally, he looked at Apollo, his competitive, flirty expression return. "Actually... yes," he decided, drinking more of his beer, before moving to get out of the water. He turned as he grabbed his shirt, and raised his voice loud as he called over his pokemon. "Oi! Ve're going!" He wasn't one hundred percent sure where Meebus went, or rather, how far he went, but he convinced himself he could hear him no matter how far into that broken down tower he'd gone. Turning towards the water, he picked up the empty pokeball, and held it out. "Ten, get up here," he summoned, and snapped the pokeball open once shark had surfaced. It was quickly returned, and soon, Meebus and Boo came floating out as well, the latter carrying a few items with her.
Zak collected the things and put them away while he waited for Apollo to join, before the two made their way back into town to find a way to set up, or use, a basketball court. It took a bit, but eventually they got something that worked, and honestly, Zak was just glad to get back on the court again. Having an opponent helped, especially one that wasn't just one of his pokemon, though he'd appreciated the challenge of their extra abilities. He didn't exactly go.... too hard against Apollo, but he wasn't taking it easy, either. He certainly did his best not to let him score, but he wasn't about to barrel his way through him to get a basket, either.
In the end, it was enough of a stress relief and an adrenaline rush, that Zak actually accepted Apollo's offer to let him stay in the room, though surprisingly, nothing did end up happening. That "I'm just not in the mood" feeling stuck with Zak, even when his mood did, in fact, lift a bit. Maybe it was just everything going on, everything he was still absorbing and considering, and everything that he still had coming up. In the morning, he even bothered to wait for Apollo to be around before parting ways, promising to meet up again, and flirting a bit more sincerely, before releasing Braviary.
