"I think there are like... ten, maybe?" he finally responded, answering his own question. Beep only nodded silently before he set Cloud down and patted the top of his head. "Stay behind me, alright?" A bit disappointed that he wouldn't be seeing the action from, literally, up front, the Togepi gave a hesitant nod.

Cloud gave a long, dramatic sigh before he plopped himself down onto the ground, but from there he laid out on his stomach. He kicked his legs out into the air and then mushed his cheeks with his hands, pulling at them so that he began to make faces; just something to keep himself entertained while Beep fought off the tree pokemon, which he appropriately nicknamed 'tree monsters'. The Ampharos seemed to be doing well for himself, and certainly didn't look like he needed help.

Cloud continued to try and find ways to keep himself entertained, the face shaping only doing that for about two minutes. When that stopped being fun he resorted to rolling around on the ground, his spherical form helping him to easily move across the floor. It was great fun, at least to Cloud, but there was a drawback, as he soon found out, as he quickly became dizzy and was forced to stop.

Cloud flopped over onto his back with a groan, the cave's ceiling, and maybe even his eyes, spinning. That had been fun, though a hazardous, but ultimately not time consuming, which was a shame considering that there were still several tree monsters around. Cloud made a face, but since he was still a bit lightheaded he didn't bother getting up. Because of that he was forced to cheer from the ground, raising a hand up and waving it into the air.

Eventually Cloud managed to get back onto his stomach, which gave him a better view of the battle that was still going on. Beep was still doing well for himself, the 'forest' was thinning substantially, and although his breathing was a bit labored he was still on his feet and didn't appear to be stopping anytime soon. Which was good! He didn't want to have to battle when he was still dizzy, he didn't know how great his accuracy would be in that sort of condition.

A few minutes passed and within that frame of time Beep took out a considerable amount of Trevenant, while Cloud, in the meantime, worked on getting the walls around him to stop moving; a very productive time for both of them. Working out some sort of inner strength Beep managed to strike down the last pokemon that stood in his way, his chest rising and falling rapidly as it fell back onto the ground with a resounding thud. Once that was finished, and with the slight onsets of a headache coming on, the Ampharos made his way back over to Cloud, managing to pull out a smile once he drew close enough. "T-there! I'm pretty sure that... that was the last of 'em."

Straightening himself out Beep brushed at his chest several times, trying to regain his composure, before he bent down to gently push Cloud onto his feet. "We should probably go back to Huey now," he figured, leaning down to pick up the small Togepi when he held his arms out for such. The trip back to their trainer was, thankfully, an uneventful one and as they returned Beep took notice of the paper lantern Huey was poking at curiously, noting that it had gone out; that would explain why they weren't being visited by anymore ghosts.

Huey stood to his feet as Beep and Cloud approached, gently holding onto the paper lantern though unsure of what to do with it. "There you two are! I was wondering where you'd gone off to." He broke out into a grin, pleased to see that his pokemon had returned-- and safely at that, though after a moment he looked up and around them. "Even though the lantern burned out, let's stay here a bit longer. We can still battle the pokemon that live here," he suggested, and with that he switched his team up a bit to prepare for the battles to come. Huey gave a stretch and a yawn before he began walking further into the cave, waiting for a pokemon to make itself known-- they did just like to pop up and attack people for no reason, right?

With potions in hand Huey swooped down to spray Rags and Gem, circling them both in a tight circle to make sure he didn't miss any bruise. Gem gave a squeal of excitement afterwards, clumsily rearing back on her hindlegs--and nearly falling over in the process-- before she began to move about happily, awkwardly, and in the process thoroughly distracting Huey away from a Klink that had been attracted to the noise. Lukcily for him Yuki, as always, was keeping a watchful eye out and moved in to intercept the gear-shaped pokemon.

Huey held a frown as Yuki returned to him, not hurt too badly but suffering from paralysis; that was a tricky status effect to have to deal with. Taking out another potion he began to spray the Froslass down, this time keeping an eye out for any wild pokemon that might pop out at them. Once he'd finished Huey stepped back to look at Yuki, and the rest of his team, before he nodded to himself. They'd need to head back to Driftveil then, not just to have Yuki healed at a Pokémon Center but to buy a few more potions and things from the store, he was running low.

Huey heaved a gentle sigh as he returned Yuki, much to her chagrin, then turned to look at the rest of his team. "Oh, I'm sorry, Sarabi.." he turned a soft frown over to the Flurry, conflicted. "Me returning Yuki means you don't have any snow to keep you, you know... from melting," he delivered the last part of his sentence in a whisper, eyebrows furrowed; it just sounded so unpleasant to actually say. "It's fine, Huey!" the feline assured, shaking herself out to try and catch the last few snow flurries. "You can return me, I don't mind."
The boy smiled in relief, glad to hear that his pokemon would willingly allow herself to be returned and did just that. Huey smiled before gathering the rest of his team, keeping them close, and began walking slowly back to the cave entrance. The faster they got out and back to Driftveil, the sooner he could heal Yuki, buy new potions, and get back to training.

Huey crouched down, arms outstretched to accept Gem, as the shiny Aron wobbled herself back over to him; she was trying to dance, again, and making a real mess of it. But it was adorable nonetheless. "Huh, I actually didn't notice it.. but that little item I gave you, it broke, didn't it?" he observed with a frown, thinking back on it he realized it had crumbled almost... immediately after she'd been sent out; why hadn't he made a bigger deal of it then? "Maybe it was old?" he guessed, but then looked up as Rags came to him, pulling up his 'pants'. Huey chuckled gently before he reached out to rub the pokemon's head, "you've gotten really brave, you know that?" he teased with a warm smile.
Rags scoffed and gently pushed his trainer's hand away, embarrassed, before he yanked up his loose skin and started marching forward. Th-they had to get going, didn't they? Huey chuckled, left amused rather than offended, and straightened up to his feet to follow after his pokemon; they really did need to get going.

"Mhm, I bet you could," Huey assured, pushing back a few strands of hair as they slipped across his forehead. "You could give Pichu an item or something too, to help make his moves extra powerful!" Now what exactly those items might be, he wasn't sure; but he was positive that such a move existed, and that was all that mattered! Probably. The boy smiled sheepishly after being complimented, ducking his head down so that he could hide his pleasure. "Dianna did most of the work," he confessed, hoping to shift some of the spotlight away from him. "So she's really the one you should be praising." The Emboar in question, while amused, simply shook her head before gently nudging her trainer, encouraging him to continue forward.
Huey, after recovering from his embarrassment, grinned up at Sebastian, "do you really think so? I hope I can, it'd be cool to come home as the Pokémon Champion." He was sure, with a title like that, his entire family would be proud of him. Speaking of family, the blonde looked up at his older companion, eyes bright in awe before he giggled. "You're a good big brother, Sebastian. I bet your brother is really grateful you're doing this for him," he commented. Maybe he could act as a mentor for Lewis and Hannah when they became trainers themselves, with a few years between them in age he was sure he had more than enough time to gather a novel's worth of information for them. "Maybe you could challenge just one league, the one your brother probably won't take on, if you wanted. That way he would kinda have an idea of what the Elite Four is like."
With Sebastian's longer legs, Huey wasn't surprised in the least that the man was able to catch up to him, and he slowed down to a halt once they'd arrived inside the cave, giving Dianna a chance to catch up with the humans. Breathing heavier now, he turned around to fully face Sebastian before he spread both his arms out at his side. "See, look! It's just like a told you, right?" he exclaimed, excited to show to the other what he'd previously discovered. As much as he might've wanted to explore the cave, and all its wonders, Huey couldn't forget that they were simply passing through, and were actively making their way to Mistralton to challenge Skyla.
Dropping his hands back to his side, the boy gathered himself before he began walking along the path he'd previously taken. "Did you wanna take on Skyla first, Sebastian?" he asked as they walked, figuring they should get themselves sorted before they arrived. It wasn't long after that the blue glow of the rocks began to fade, and was replaced by the morning sun that streamed in through the cave from its second. And, while excited, Huey restrained himself from running out once again -- instead he speed walked.

Sebastian grinned and chuckled again at Huey’s reassurance, earning a bit of a look from Snaps in response. The Pichu had picked up that it was he who might’ve been talked about, though he wasn’t entirely certain for what purpose. He tilted his head a little at the mention of an item for Pichu, chuckling again. "I probably have an item or two I could use for him… my bags full of them. I’ll have to take a look when I get a chance." He needed to clean his bag out to be honest. That was something he’d have to make some time to do.
"Oh? Well, I’m sure she couldn’t have managed without a good trainer like yourself by her side." Sebastian remarked; still he gave a grin and a nod at Diana to show her some appreciation as well. Whoever he owed thanks to, he was grateful to be out of that cave and back on the right track. "Of course! I’d bet you’d make a great Champion. I’d be honored to know you." It’d certainly be something to mention to people, knowing a Champion. He took into consideration what Huey suggested; challenging a league his brother wasn’t going too? He supposed that was an option, though he wasn’t certain what region his brother would want to start in. He didn’t want to deny him the chance, though even then, he didn’t have to stick to the same region to challenge the elite four… but maybe his brother would want to challenge Johto? Or even him? What a question. "That’s… a solid idea. I’ll have to think on that some." He remarked. He certainly wanted to challenge the Elite Four of a region… he didn’t want to stop his brother though.
Soon focus shifted to entering into Chargestone Cave and Sebastian slowed in his walk as his eyes went wide at the sight. He’d certainly never seen a light show like this in a cave and not one that was apparently a natural phenomenon. "Woooowww….," Sebastian murmured, taking in the sight. He directed his gaze to Huey, grin returning as he noticed the excitement pretty much painted on the boy’s face as he presented their surroundings. He was certainly full of energy, wasn’t he? "You were right! This is amazing." Sebastian remarked, stepping about to take a look. He was half tempted to reach a hand out and touch the stones, but didn’t want to get shocked in return. It was crazy and beautiful at the same time.
He followed Huey though as they started up again, gaze still taking in the wonders of the cave. "Huh? Oh…," he frowned and thought a bit about it. Was he ready to take on Skyla? He wasn’t sure. "I hadn’t thought about that…. Did you want to go first? I certainly wouldn’t mind." He replied after some though, picking up the pace as they left the cave and out into the light once more with a city loaming in the distance. He hadn’t expected to get through the cave so quickly but well, that was that now wasn’t it?

Time had been... extremely odd for Jay, as of late. He felt like he'd slept a lot longer than a few hours, and he knew he'd been separate from Jay for a longer than that. Or he assumed so. They ended up staying in Driftveil some, but when they entered Chargestone, another flurry of activity caught them off guard. As one would have it... he should have listened to Mimey. A certain something did happen to hitch a ride on his bag, back in Mistralton Cave. There's been a frantic scene that he was glad no one was around to witness -- even if his only concern, given his own experience, would have been them hearing him dance around and curse as the pokemon skittered up and down his body and in and out of his shirt. Eventually, he'd managed to catch it-- literally. In a pokeball.
Now, the pokemon rested on his shoulder, as the group started through the cave. He had way too many pokemon with him; he'd need to put some in the PC once he was back in town.
