It was rather humorous to watch Noah pretty much jump up and strike the little mole creature in the face with an aqua tail as though it were defiant act to dispose of the creature. The Diglett didn’t stand much of a chance and Lafayette looked at the pokeball as it dinged indicating the catch had succeeded. Once more he retrieved it and sent it off, glancing around for Cheri. He was wondering if it was a good idea to send her off by herself… what if she decided not to come back?

She certainly seemed the type. He gave the Geodude that Noah had just splattered only a passing look as he chucked the pokeball, still wondering on the situation regarding his pokemon. Cheri was odd. Very odd; from when he’d gone and chucked a rock at her lurking in the bushes, it seemed she’d always been a little weird. She was helpful, as the situation at hand indicated. He wouldn’t have known about Juliean’s demands until well after the fact had it not been for her. Of course, whether that was good or bad, he didn’t really know. These thoughts kept him from noticing the Onix that had showed up on the scene with a rather vicious rumble.

A few minutes passed and another ground type had appeared and promptly been taken down by Noah in the process for Lafayette to capture without issue. A movement off to the side had him thinking another had appeared but it turned out to be Cheri toddling over the hill with communicator and egg in paw. He felt a little bad for her needing to cart both of the items -wait why did she still have his communicator wtf- but she didn’t seem at all perturbed. Offering the egg to him, she glanced around and noted the battling going on as well as the incense. He couldn't tell what her thoughts were, instead scooping up the incense and tossing a pokeball at a Cubone that had appeared last moment to see what was going on before being taken out by Noah. Once it was captured, he sent it off and summoned out Dova. He was curious what other types might appear in other areas with the incense so it was best to get moving before they got swarmed.

It was proving useful, even outside of battle. "She says that she does. Not a lot, but sometimes," Cloud eventually, psychically, spoke. The Togepi hummed loudly, listening to Staraptor's thoughts a bit more, before he craned his head back to look at his trainer. "She says that it's not unusual for her kind to never see each other again, though, and that her humans are her new family." Not wanting to delve too deep into her personal life, especially considering Staraptor wasn't even his pokemon, Huey stopped his questions there and prepared for landing. He tucked his knees in, as he'd become accustomed to doing, and then hopped down onto the ground. These ruins were... well, ruins. He'd never been here before, but they were interesting to look at it; sorta. He didn't have time to actually explore the areas depths, so for now he'd just have to appreciate what he could see in this moment.

Huey sent out the trio from before, then took the time to pet all three, before he sent them out. Just like before, he took Cloud into his arms and the two began searching themselves, Cloud using his psychic ability to lift up bits of rubble and debris to try and look for an egg there. It wasn't hard to see, from the slightly troubled expression, that Huey was still a bit upset that he'd had to leave his family, so soon after meeting them; he hadn't realized before actually getting there, just how homesick he'd been. He'd really need to visit them more often. Before that, of course, he had to collect the rest of these eggs. He was getting close, sorta, and after Beep came rushing back with an egg, they were even closer.

Much better. This was more open. Zak began bouncing the ball on his feet, toes, heel, knees, as he looked around. Ten's chirping and growling and attempts to eat Deys' metal adornments helped cheer him up some, but he figured he could get some physical energy out by just running the field, so to speak. Brushing a hand back, Zak postponed messaging Apollo, and shut his communicator off. He wanted to get some exercise first, see how he felt. As eager as he was for the distraction, some physical exercise (of the running kind, at least at the moment) felt even more appealing. Turning the ball, he started dribbling, picking up the pace quickly, and using some of the structures nearby to practice his dodging, weaving, and (though he definitely shouldn't have), some shooting.

He.... was definitely out of practice. Most, if not all, if his shots missed. He definitely wasn't running as fast with the ball, either, and nearly tripped a few times. Still, once he got the pace, it was enjoyable. He didn't completely forget about the eggs, either, and actually managed to find one on the ground while making his paces. He discarded it when he returned to find Rufflet with an egg in his talons, taking that instead, and putting it away. He was breathing a bit harder, sweating.... he felt like he'd unwound some. He definitely felt better than before, as they headed off to the next -- and final, for Johto -- place.

The ruins, on the outside, could as a whole be described as "dusty", or "boxy" if you included the buildings with that. Jun idly made note that watching his clothes after this would likely be a pain. But the place would be easy to walk around, and he could already see some interesting pokemon perched in the distance. "Hey, do you know what moves your pokemon can use?" Jun asked while he watched the distant green bird things.
"Anyways, make sure you know before you try to battle anything." He might offer some pointers later, but he figured Christian could give it a shot himself first. For Jun, most of the pokemon here would be too weak for his own team to get much out of training. He did, however, have something else to do here.
The blue stone he pulled from his bag was still cold to the touch, and glittered in the light. He'd made the decision to call the legendary pokemon connected to the orb, and if things worked out enlist its help. Okay, so how do I...use this?
Before he could examine the stone further, he noticed a black blur detach itself from the shadows of a nearby building. "Bird- person!?" Jun stumbled back, trying to dodge but momentarily dizzied by a burst of psychic power. The little bird leapt into the air, snatched the orb, landed, and... stood there.
"Gl ll fr fr fr." The little thing whistled, wrapping it's hands(?) around the orb, held it up to an eye to look through, even, um, licking it.
"Uh." Jun, who had been about to draw his sword or at the least reach out to whack the thief, wasn't really sure what to do now that it wasn't actually running away. "Hey, that's...mine." He paused, when the thing turned around, looking at him with big, blue, adorable. "Guh-woo?"Ah, ******** style="color: darkslateblue"> Pokemon
Like a child on a field trip, Christian looked around the ruins with wide-eyed fascination, and the desire to touch every decrepit building and overturned rock. The entire place had an old feeling to it -- which was appropriate -- and filled him with the urge to explore, to get a sense of just who, or what, had constructed this area, and for what purpose.
"Hey, do you know what moves your pokemon can use?"
But they hadn't come here to play archaeologist.
"I don't," Christian answered, though as he did a memory of Am fiddling around with his pokedex rushed to the surface. "I'll figure it out though, don't worry." He exhaled as he sat himself down on a sizable rock, or would it be considered a boulder?, before pulling his bag into his lap and rifling around in it. Honestly, he'd forgotten about his pokedex up until now, but better late than never! Once the 'dex was in his hands it took only a bit of fiddling before Christian grasped the gist of its controls, then, with a prideful half-smirk, he panned it over to Chickpea to let it scan him. An entry popped up on the screen, "Chikorita, the Leaf Pokemon," a robotic voice spouted off. He was in business!
Two minutes later and Christian had mastered the pokedex! Or, well, he'd figured out enough to be able to pull up his pokemon's information, including the list of moves they had and approximate strength. Apparently Chickpea was stronger than Cress (who would've guessed!) so, as far as training went, Cress would be their star. "Alright you two." Christian closed the pokedex, slipped it into his pocket, then stood to his feet dusting the back of his pants. "We're gonna start training. Cress, stick with me. Chickpea... don't wander off," he instructed. Both pokemon gave various responses, both of which indicated compliance, and Cress marched herself over to him.
"You're still pretty new at this, aren't you? So let me handle the fighting for now," she insturcted, and patted his thigh. "Ah." Most pokemon didn't take charge like this, did they? "Yeah, sure. Show me the ropes, Cress," Christian encouraged, and gave a thumbs up. The Totodile, cradling her chin with a claw, gave a nod before she began to wander about, poking her head into the overgrown weeds nearby before slipping past them fully. There was a bit of a tussle, from what Christian could see of the sudden rustling in grass, before a figure suddenly stumbled out into the open. Not Cress, but rather an odd, tailed creature. Cress came out after it, cheeks ballooned out, and was quick to spit out a bullet of water, directly at the pokemon's chest as soon as it'd steadied itself on its feet. It fell over, unconscious, and Cress pridefully swiped at her snout.
"Looking good, Cress!" Christian cheered, the biggest contribution he could make. Even if he wasn't actually participating, he was learning. Cress had used Water Gun, it was the only move she had that used 'water', and she'd used it enough to render the... other pokemon unconscious. Which was cool. He eyed the pokemon, and after a full second confirmed that it was still breathing. Alright then, it was fine. "Keep up the good work," he encouraged, swapping his attention to Cress. "That was the plan!" she retorted, and then gave herself a pat down before fading back into the weeds.
He'd leave her to it, for now.
"Hey, how's it going over there?" Christian turned to look at Jun, figuring he'd check in on his friend. What he found was Jun facing off against a weird... looking bird pokemon. Or, more of staring at it? Neither of their body languages spoke to being defensive. "Need some help?"
