Jay settled down, releasing Mary Lee from her pokeball. "Ah ain't mad," he started to reassure the pokemon, who perked up hopefully, "But Mary Lee... Ya can' do that." She drooped a bit, her ears folding back and her head lowering. The expression on Jay's face... it was... it was really not happy. His eyes stared blindly at the ground, his brows furrowed, a deep frown on his face. He looked more than angry, or disappointed, though... he looked... sad? In a way? She stayed quiet, listening. "Bein' blind, ah can' follow yew when ya run away in this sorta place," he explained evenly, his voice slow and quiet, "Ah rely on mah hearin', 'n in uh city like this, ah can barely hear nothin' past uh few feet 'fore it jus' becomes part uh thuh noise." He closed his eyes, taking off his hat and running a hand back through his hair.
"It ain't just frustratin'... it's worryin' to. If somethin' happened, ah wouldn' be able t'find ya, let alone help. Ah know yer a sweet heart but ain't e'ryone so nice... 'N even kindness can lead ta trouble," he continued. Mary Lee tilted her head to the side, looking off to the side. She had sort of knocked that nice trainer down... She hadn't meant to, though! B-but... she guessed that was kind of Jay's point. "Ah know it's uh lot t'ask 'n keep 'n mind... but please don' wander off like that alright?" he asked, offering out his hand, "Ah needja t'stay close, 'specially in these cities..." Mary Lee took a couple nubby steps forward. "Nuu..." she mewled, nuzzling her cheek against his hand. And though he couldn't clearly understand it, he got the gist-- 'Sorry Jay...'
He smiled and turned his hand over, petting her head, then standing up. He listened a moment, then walked over to where Jesse had followed Blackjack, nervously continuing the conversation. "B-but I never did that! I didn't really climb trees... The highest I ever really got was Jay's shoulder!" she lamented, as if trying to get him to understand, "And you say that, but what if someone shot you down? Y-you're pretty vulnerable in the air, you know...""Yew alright, Jess?" The beedrill jumped a bit at her trainer's appearance, but gave a reassuring buzz, backing up to lean herself against his leg.
Jacque turned his head, placing his hat back on his head and addressing Sebastian. "Yew want some help gettin' through the city?" he asked, placing a hand on his hip. "Ah can at least getcha t'thuh exit ta Santaluna," he offered as a follow up. He wasn't sure if the guy was able to get his map or not, but he didn't want to ditch him if he could use some extra guidance. Talk about the blind leading the... well...

Blackjack paused in his eating, licking his muzzle before looking back at Jesse. "You never climbed a tree?" He took a few more bites of food, seeming to ignore the Beedrill before commenting again. "So did you make your cocoon on his back or something then? Because I’m pretty sure the ground isn’t any safer than the trees when you’re a Kakuna." He barked, head tilting just a bit. "So? You’re vulnerable on the ground too. Things will run you over you know…" Everything was so very matter-of-fact in his tone.
"Leave her alone! You sound like a bully." Naps squeaked, earning a look from the Houndoom. "It just facts.""Quiiillllll...." ("Pfffffffttt 'facts'! How do you eve- HEY LEAVE MY FOOD ALONE.") The Quilava squeaked roared as the Mareep tried to finish off his food for him. Kaiser just gave a sort of blank stare. "Mareeeepppp....." "You're not eating it though...."
Naps gave a huff. "Because I'm talking! Go away it's mine!" Kaiser just continued staring at the Quilava a moment, seeming to chew a bit. "....I'll just finish it when you fall asleep then, okay?"
Sebastian in the meantime had somehow masterfully ignored the commotion going on between his pokemon, only looking up from his pokegear when Jay appeared. He blinked and quirked an eyebrow at the sight of the Beedrill hoping back; he hadn’t even realized it’d followed them over. Giving the Houndoom a questioning gaze since he seemed to be the other pokemon's primary focus, he received only a nonchalant ’Doom’ in return. Well pokemon did talk to one another, right? Hopefully, it was a friendly conversation. He spotted the Numel as well, giving a smile.
He glanced at Jay, blinking in surprise at the offer. Really? That’d actually be great now that he thought about it. Sebastian was really getting lucky with help; hopefully that luck wouldn’t run dry to early. With a smile he nodded. "I certainly wouldn’t mind the help, if it’s not too much trouble." He’d gotten a map card for his pokegear, but really, someone who’d been around the place was better than him trying to figure out how the circles worked. Even if a blind guide… there was probably something rather ironic about that. He did have to quirk an eyebrow though. Did he say Santaluna? It was sort of amusing listening to this guy talk.
"I think everyone’s done eating so, we can get a move on if you’re ready." He remarked, starting to clean up whatever mess his pokemon had left. Which, given Kaiser’s appetite, wasn’t much. Sebastian wasn’t even sure if there had been crumbs."Did you ask Nurse Joy about your Heracross, by the way?" He inquired as he cleaned, glancing at the other man curiously.

Jesse shuffled her feet and needle arms a bit. "W-well, I mean... I never climbed very HIGH on one..." She supposed she had, technically, climbed up the trunk of a couple trees.... but definitely not more than a few feet off the ground! Even to evolve, but that had also been in a safe area! How did this pokemon know so darn much about her evolution, anyway.... She lowered her antennae back against her head, drawing her weapon-like arms into herself, trying to muster up a buggy-eyed glare at the fire pokemon. It didn't... entirely pull through.
She blinked when the Cyndaquil intervened, shivering in fear out of pure reflex, then shrinking a bit as he defended her. She buzzed in disapproval as his teammate tried to take advantage of the opportunity to eat his food, but the reproach got caught in her throat, and she wasn't able to say anything in response.
Apparently that wasn't as much of a problem for Mary Lee, who came positively bounding over, little legs leaping and flailing happily with each jumping stride. "Jesse~! Jesse~! Jesse~!" she sang out, coming to a stop very close to her teammate, eyes closed in joy, leaning so far in that Jesse ended up shrinking further into the floor just to keep an inch between their faces. "Jesse~! Did you know that ground moves are SUPER effective against electric types?!? And that dark type duality TOTALLY doesn't defend against it's SUPER EFFECTIVENESS against FIRE either?!? Isn't it SO COOL to learn about type advantages like that!?!?" she giggled happily. She promptly dropped halfway to the floor, waggling her rear happily, with her forelegs splayed out in front of her. "Can I play with your needles?" she asked, wiggling her little nub legs at Jesse's withdrawn arms. "Uh-uh-uh-uh..." Jesse stuttered, twitching, looking about ready to overload.
Mary Lee looked over, smiling to Naps and giving a happy, chiming, "Thank you for defending my teammate, by the way!" in her sing song voice, wiggling again happily. Jay was frowning in great confusion and disapproval at all the yammering going on with the pokemon. What in thuh hell were they even... He turned his focus back to Sebastian as he answered, a slight shake of his head to try and remove the thoughts, then giving a complacent nod. "Ain't no trouble t'all. S'perty close t'where ahm goin' anyway, 'n ah know mah way there better 'nyway," he replied. He shifted to step back, making room and gently nudging Jesse and Mary Lee to do the same so Sebastian could get his things together. He straightened up, though, at the man's question, giving a nod to him with his index finger. "No ah didn'. Thank ya fer remindin' me've that. Ah'll be justa momen'," he said, then moved towards the counter, one hand out to touch it and track his way to where Nurse Joy would be, leaning over to converse with her over the matter.
Mary Lee watched from her spot with Jesse, rising to her feet, the dazed Beedrill buzzing half-consciously and trying to rise to her feet. Jay returned a little later, gesturing for Sebastian to lead the way out. He could follow, and take the lead from there.

"Hum…" Was the Houndoom’s response, watching the Beedrill panic as the Quilava spoke up. He rolled his eyes and shook his head. When the Numel came bounding over pretty much sing-songing the means by which to obliterate a good majority of the pokemon sitting around, the pokemon hushed. Blackjack sort of quirked his head. "Well then."
"What…?" Kaiser remarked, looking mostly confused. Naps seemed to get the jist of what was said though, looking a bit uneased. "I think she just said she’s going to take us all. Good job, mister bully." The Mareep stared a moment, looking to chew again. "….Oh. Well that kind of sucks… can I finish eating first?" The Quilava just gave the Mareep a “are you serious” type look, perking a bit and giving the Numel a sort of nod.

Sebastian finished cleaning up everything, returning his pokemon save for Spade and Blackjack again. He reworked his things, deciding to take Blackjack off his team for a bit. The Houndoom was pretty strong as is and he didn’t want him getting any stronger else he’d never get him to listen to him in battle.
He got himself up and moving, glancing over and ushering Spade out from under the table as he stood, the Mightyena twitching and emerging from where it'd opted to observe the other pokemon from. With a nod he headed out the doors of the pokemon center, looking around and pausing to let Jay take the lead, falling in step with the other man once they started moving.

Suddenly, Avikna watched as all the Pokemon currently trying to attack her vanished, as if something had scared them off. Looking around, the red-head found nothing to conspicuous. Glancing down towards her Pokemon ,they looked back, just as confused. It hadn't effected them? Avikna's eyes narrowed. Something wasn't right about what had just happened, but... at the same time she was free to advance through the city. She'd grown battle of the pointless battles anyway. Zelda certainly showed her superiority over the wild in this area. Lexera however... was still fairly lost in terms of strength.. and awareness.
Raising a hand up to her temple she pressed in. She was getting a headache... which meant either two things. She was tired, which was a high possibility, or she was simply annoyed by the redundancy of the previous battles. "Yo! Chica with the red hair!" An unfamiliar voice called out. Avikna turned her sharp, deadly gaze towards a male. Standing at the end of the alley he held a toothy grin and a look in his eyes that said he'd found something he wanted. Avikna turned away, rolling her eyes as she lowered her arm. "I don't have time for this." Avikna stated, pressing forward, only to feel the man's hand on her shoulder a second later. She stopped, if only to reflect on the mild shock she'd felt. How'd he move that fast? He certainly couldn't have made it to her side that quickly. Still dumbfounded, she turned with the force of his hand. "Don't be that way, chica." The man grinned. "I was just about to ask if you'd like a real challenge? I've been watchin' you and I gotta say, I like what I see." His toothy grin returned with a rise of a brow. Once more Avikna rolled her eyes, stepping back some. The man stated, recovering from his loss, he returned his fallen bird. His Pokemon had barely lasted a full minute. Safe for Lexera, who was weak already, she'd practically sweeped his entire team with no casualties. "I have places to be." Avikna growled, folding her arms. Zelda floated forward, narrowing her already dead gaze. "Alright, red, than I'm next." Stated a taller, fatter man. He stepped forward, tossing a ball up and down in his hand. Once he stopped, he tossed forward the ball, revealing his first Pokemon, an Omanyte. Perfect. This would be another quick battle, to be sure.

Alexandra walked slowly through the city, keeping an eye out for her pokemon, Caldo especially, to make sure she didn't lose them in the crowd. Out of the corner of her eye she noticed a department store and instantly stopped, the reminder that she was headed to celebrate a birthday and that she still hadn't bought Rose a gift. With a shake of her head and a mental reprimand to herself, she headed inside Rose seemed like the type to enjoy plushies, so she purchased her two: a Pancham and a Serperior, before she bought her a necklace with a red pendant. The color red seemed to fit her, perhaps it was just the color of her hair. Afterwards, she bought a few items for herself, all that would benefit her pokemon.

Koda looked at Rummy curiously, his tail swaying behind him. "Hmmm..." he replied simply in a thoughtful hum. Not the best conversationalist, at least, not when it seemed that anything he said might initiate a long ramble of words from the other. He looked up curiously as he caught some of Sebastian and Jay's conversation, too, but perked up and focused back on the music as another upbeat, energetic song started playing, giving a small mew of enjoyment as he closed his eyes and continued carefully padding along.

Sebastian titled his head curiously as Mimey gave the answer to his question, an eyebrow quirking. Beauty? Well… that wasn’t honestly what he was expecting. With how… what was the word, ‘lively’ Crystal had been the first time he’d encountered her, he would’ve expected her to be going for the ‘Tough’ category. But he kept that thought to himself. He didn’t need her attempting to launch anymore attacks in his general direction after all.
"Beauty? Alright let’s see…," He scanned the pages and then flipped through the book some more, eventually landing on the next needed piece of information. "It looks like for Hoenn… Beauty contests happen in Lilycove city." That was a new name to him. And here he was just getting used to traveling around Kalos too.
