Range: Desert as a foal and young adult, moves into the forest areas as she gets older and moves away from her home and family.
History:
Kynreeve was raised by her father Warrick with her brother Ignazio in the desert. They are a part of the Debbani and her father is in the thieves guild. Kynreeve believes that she was abandoned by her mother to die in the desert and resents her for it. She is very close to her brother and does not know that she has a sister. She thinks that their mother left them in the desert because of their dark coloring, (dark colored coats is seen as being a bad thing in the desert culture) Her dark coloring means that she needs more resources than others and she hates being so dependent on her father and brother.
She begins pulling her own weight when she starts robbing travelers of their bells and resources. She becomes a talented thief and uses her malicious appearance to frighten people away from their camp before she loots them.
As an adult she continues to frighten and loot travelers, until one heist goes horribly wrong.
Instead of the usual fright, the spooked soquili charges Kynreeve, he was much larger and stronger than her. Her first instinct should have been to run, instead she ran her horn into his chest when he reared to kick her. The soquili died almost immediately she had slain his heart and was horrified.
She didnt loot, or return home that night, and found herself at an oasis to collect her thoughts. When she woke up she was approached by a mysterious hooded figure. It was the Dark Brotherhood, they were impressed by her skills and invited her into the family.
She keeps her dark family a secret from her blood one, and it has gotten increasingly more difficult to lie to them and get away with things. it has caused her to painfully distance herself from her father and brother in an attempt to protect them from her murderous double life.

Welcome Kynreeve!
She feels abandoned by her mother, and her continued lack of involvement has made Kynreeve hate her. she thiks that because of their coat color, their mother was ashamed and left them with their father where there chances of survival were lower. she thinks Arabella basically left them to die. she gets angry and emotional when she talks about it. at first Kynreeve hated her mutations, she thought she was some kind of monster, but she learned how to use them to her advantage. she will use it as a source of pity and lure others to give her water or resources. she also uses it to intimidate people or frighten them. Because Warrick left her and her brother to their own devices most the time she became very close to Ignazio. They rely on eachother for company and resources. sometimes she hates that she needs more resources than her brother, she wishes that they could split them equally at least, but she knows he understands. Although sometimes she thinks he overreacts and coddles her, or insists on giving her more water than necessary when she knows he is de-hydrated.
She most enjoys playing tricks or fooling others. she will spread roomers about a spectral mare with glowing red eyes, and a horn dripping in blood. She then creeps into camps at night and frightens them away long enough to loot them.
because of her eagerness to frighten others, she is understandably lacking in friends. this has left her a bit cold hearted , and even more reliant on Ignazio.
She has a strong hatred for abandonment, and although she is not close to most of the Debbani individuals, she feels her heart is still with them, she feels that the Debbani as a whole were abandoned. she has a natural distrust of others (perhaps because she was raised by thieves) and an especial distrust towards others with fair coats.
But she has a secret, a secret that she keeps from everyone even her precious brother. She has another family, a dark family. the dark brotherhood. she became involved with them after an incident in one of her looting schemes. she had gone in to scare the unsuspecting soquili as usual, but one of them charged at her in a fit of fear and rage. she at first, froze, but then did something that she did not expect. She bowed her head as the stallion reared at her and she swiftly ran her horn though his chest. She watched him slump to the sand. he died very quickly and the sand turned red with is blood. Kynreeve just stood there, looking at him in shock. Blood dripped down her horn and down her face. She had become the legend she created.
She did not loot them that night, nor did she come home. she walked to the nearest oasis and didnt arrive there till late morning. She looked at her dirty reflection in the pond, and saw a killer. how could she face her brother like this? in the moment, she did what felt most natural, it felt natural to drive her horn into his chest. she wasnt sure how she felt about it.
But the Brother hood didnt give her much time to ponder, she was approached that night when she slept by the pool. a brotherhood speaker asked her to meet him, he said he was impressed with he skills and saw her potential.
Keeping this part of her life has been difficult and she worries Ignazio will find out. she fears he will look down on her or even hate her for her wicked deeds. |
