"Uhmm... sir? I... don't even know how to use a gun. Can I just be excused to go tinker with the Guardians?" She did her best to look adorable, but she realized that she clearly wasn't going to get out of the combat operations. She sighed.

"I'll take thirty grams of plastique, sixty mililitres of nitroglycerin, eighty-five grams of gunpowder, sixteen metal canisters, three kilograms of point-three centimetre ball bearings, and seventeen watches."

{Similarly to Dallas's character's problem, I have no idea how to fashion explosive devices, but Tress certainly does. She's not a bombs specialist, but she could certainly whip up some crude grenades.}

The man behind the counter looks at the group and begins to laugh hysterically. Was this really the group that was going to be commissioned out to liberate this land. Oh god. This was going to be terrible. The man began to walk around the room, collecting several different things and then brought them all back to the table. He laid out cards on the table that had the names of the recruits on them. Below them, he laid out their equipment that they needed or was going to be given.

Madeline - M16 and a Desert Eagle for weapons. Also, a single basic medical kit.
Jack - M16 and a Colt M1911 for weapons. Also a single basic medical kit.
Bridgitte - M16 and a Colt M1911 for weapons. Also a single basic medical kit.
Toby - HKPSG1 and a Colt M1911 for weapons. Also, a single basic medical kit.
Tress - HK MP5K and a Colt M1911 for weapons. Also a single basic medical kit.
Gavin - HK MP5K and a Colt M1911 for weapons. Also an advanced medical kit (a +2 bonus on treat injury checks).

After the man lays out all the gear, he looks the group over and laughs again. "No one is getting out of this here course. We are checking out just how proficient you are on the field. Whether or not you actually fire these weapons, we don't really care. We just want to see how you do out on the battlefield." The man walks over to Tress and looks her in the eyes. "Even if you are the comms specialist, you will be on the battlefield every now and then." He laughs again and goes back to where he is behind the counter.

Knowing it was a bad idea for someone without experience or knowledge for that matter to us a gun Toby would lift Tress' weapon, and showing here. "here is where you can switch between semi and automatic. If you're going to use the automatic be wary of the kick-back. Don't point it at anything you don't plan on shooting, and keep the safety on until you plan on using it." He would make sure the safety was on, showing here where it was, before handing her the gun. His expression was serious so she knew the danger of the weapon, but not grave enough to frighten her.

The armory man noticed a slight avoidance of the rifle the person named Toby had towards the rifle and moved it and went to go collect another gun. He returned with the HK G3 and laid it on the table in the rifle's place. The boy wanted a rifle. I gave him one. So why did he want something else. Oh well.

Madge accepts her weaponry with a nod, expertly checks them over to make sure everything is in working order, and then slings them on appropriately and stows her ammo. Anyone caring to watch could tell that she definitely knows her way around weapons.

She covertly checks out the others as they take their weapons, and manages to contain her sniff as the man who had sassed her earlier seems uncomfortable with his M16, though he at least seems competent at showing the mousy neko what to do....She smiles slightly at her own term for the girl. Mousy neko indeed.....

Gavin takes the rifle and pistol with a dark look. If you didn't want our opinion on what we'd carry, why did you ask first? He really would have preferred the Glock as that was what he typically carried, but the HK was definitely several steps above the sawed off shotgun he kept under the dash of the ambulance.

He stowed the weaponry indifferently and then picked up the medical kit. His face lit as he looked at it. This was some pretty good stuff. Nice to know that the military gave out stuff to heal injuries that was almost as good as what they gave out to cause them.

Picking up the pistol, Jack holsters along his right thigh and picks up the M16. Making sure the safety was one, he'd look down the sights and make sure it was aligned. "Hmm... do you have any modifications for this? Like a scope and perhaps an under barrel red dot laser sight?"

If they didn't, it was fine, but he figured he'd ask now and get it out of the way than deal with it later.

"I thought we were supposed to be requesting equipment ourselves. I mean, if this is what we're supposed to have, fair enough... but I could really go for an automatic handgun, even if it's a mod. I don't mind having a rifle as well, but I like to be light on my feet." She picked up the M16 and checked it out. "Not bad. Nicely maintained, so I'll definitely use this one. But the pistol... See, it's just not fast or sexy enough, don't you think?"

The armory worker laughed again and then went away into the back room. He returned with a few new things. For Bridgitte, he brought the exact same pistol he had before, but this one had a modification on it that allowed it fully automatic fire. For Jack, he brought in an ACOG sight attachment as well as an underbarrel laser sight. "There you go. Does that fit your guy's requests a little better. Or do you still think you need something different?"

"This should do." He nodded, slipping the attachments on and sighted it again, making adjustments to the sight.

Bridgitte lifts the gun and tests its heft and grip. "It's alright. Not quite as comfortable as my modded Glock 17, but those are hard to come by and tricky to make work right.

"Th... thanks. I'm... afraid I don't know your name. I'm Tress." She smiled at the help with her guns. "You'd think I'd have gotten a bit more training with this, but I guess they didn't expect military scientists to be in the field all that often."

Toby smiled warmly glad there was going to be another brain along for the ride. "I'm Toby, and at least with the military background you know the basics, just have to dust off the cobwebs, so to speak."  

[Dallas Moonrain]

Gavin brushes his hair out of his eyes and looks up from his medical kit at the group. "Are we all okay with everything then? And did everyone get their medical kit as well as their weapons of mass destruction?" He gives a lopsided grin, and will attempt to shoo everyone along unless someone objects. After all, he wants his hands on those Guardians.

Jerking as he remembered, Toby gathered all his equipment together, and began to attach things that needed attaching, preparing to go.
