The dizziness came back with a vengeance, and Nonami had to hold onto the rope for a moment. Certainly they would be getting out soon... Right?

The audible yelp left Nonami as they tripped, landing on the ground with a bounce. They'd only been able to protect their face, not sure which way to catch themself on the ground. Negoncath was at her feet in an instant, ready to come to her rider's aid instantly.

Oof, I'm okay, Negoncath. Nonami slowly stood, wiping off the dirt and grit that they could feel. It certainly stung, but didn't feel too bad otherwise. I just tripped over my own foot. See? I'm okay.

... Okayy..

Maybe... Maybe it would be easier to just slip under one of the endless ropes that barred their path and.. be done with it?

But... that would be cheating. They couldn't cheat.

The cautious steps after their tumble had Negoncath sending wave after wave of reassurance that they were going the right way. They were so close, after all. But as they failed to touch anymore ropes... Negoncath warbled from her perch, beaming with absolute pride in her beloved rider.

You did it! The dragon's love was radiant as Nonami ripped the blindfold off their head, beaming up at the pale form of their dragon before taking a place with the other weyrlings.

A smarter person would probably have been trying to find a way to cheat to get out of this, but he didn't have it in him to even attempt. X'ael couldn't exactly start over at this point when he'd been in here for so very long. But just another rope to bounce off of....

I'm so sorry! I didn't know there was going to be a big rock down that side! There was legitimate concern in Cucuaranath's voice as X'ael picked himself back up off the ground. Being blindfolded he'd smashed into the dirt face first and blood trickled down his face from a nose that was likely broken. The little blue could feel the pain in his own nose and started babbling in worry.

It's fine, stop apologizing. It's totally fine.

Running into another Weyrling that time stung with his broken nose and now that his baby dragon could feel every pain he felt he wasn't so keen upon complaining. Even in his own head.

That time he gave a loud yelp, but knowing that he was falling through the air at least X'ael was able to land on his elbow. It gave a pained crunch as he rolled the weight of his body onto his forearms and pushed himself back up, almost hopping up as a result of the pain. He gave himself a shake like a canine and just continued on, ignoring the pain for now.

No rope met his way this time, just clear air like before and a soft cheer went up from his dragon who was all but sinking from the pain he'd unintentionally caused his rider by sending him down two paths that had him falling.

Blessedly he once again was walking down a path with no Weyrlings or ropes to walk into, there should only have been so much further from here on out right? He could hear Cucuaranath's cheering and gave a wry chuckle.

Listening to Cucuaranath in the last few moments had certainly worked, maybe that was because once he'd been injured the blue understood and wanted him out as fast as possible. As he managed to get out of the maze he felt a little body smack into his chest and rocked backwards.

I'm so sorry! We need to go to the healers, let's go! I thought maybe you could just meet some folks if you banged around but let's go now. I'll apologize more later.

X'ael laughed and pulled his blindfold off at last, his face all bloody. "Stop apologizing, you're such a rock headed dragon. It'll be fine." He'd made it out after all!
